We enjoyed a 10 day stay at Hipotels Playa de Palma Palace. The hotel is wonderful and the food exceptional! As many other guests have commented, the Hotel and rooms are very clean and everything is in good working order. A big plus is the spa that is available to all guests. We spent many hours enjoying the sauna, steam room, pool and heated seats. The staff were all friendly and polite. We ate meat every evening and the gentleman at the meat station, Tamba prepared our meat just right. We preferred the strict rules around designated smoking areas and evening dress code at this Hotel as it made our stay more enjoyable. The sister Hotel, Hipotels Gran Playa de Palma has activities at the pool for the children and adults which all guests can enjoy.

What can I say, I’m in the hospitality industry and this hotel took customer service to another level. The staff is the best part, everyone is so nice. They always very attentive and even learned my daughters name and so attentive to her during breakfast and dinner. I’m so picky to where I stay but honestly I have nothing bad to say, amazing amenities, the room was comfortable and had the best ocean view and waking up everyday to it was beyond incredible. Definitely one of the best stays and I’ll come back again.

Fabulous hotel, but very slippy surface by pool

Great hotel, superb staff and food (both dinner and breakfast buffets excellent), but very surprised how they have such a dangerous slippy surface around the pool area. I even saw one of the life-guards slip near the pool. I nearly had a bad fall. I noticed, like myself, guests tended to walk on the grass next to the hard surface to avoid slipping. They have some signs up saying it is slippy but this should not be necessary in a five star hotel. Definitely not suitable for older people. Bed was really comfortable, linen excellent and bathroom a pleasure, with great bath and instant hot water. However, I stayed in a suite and was very surprised it did not have tea / coffee maker (and breakfast buffet only starts at 8pm so no coffee before that), and only ONE bottle of complimentary water. No water available in sauna area either. Also the black-out drapes are very light, with no proper curtains, so the room is fairly bright in early morning. But really quiet at night. You can hear the techno music from nearby mega-club during the day, around the pool area, but not in the room. Surrounding area is not so nice, as many cheap restaurants, bars and party goers. Also very disappointed the pool is not open until after 10 am and closes at 7pm. Loved the sauna and steam room but lots of glass doors in spa area which only open one way but no signs saying which way they open so ended up bumping into them. A great hotel overall and comfortable stay but surprised by some things.

First room smelled of cigarette smoke, so I requested a different room. The cleanliness and condition of the 2nd room and hotel more generally were good. Bed/pillows were not particularly comfortable. Hotel had some good staff. Quality of food at breakfast was mixed, but there was always something nice to eat/drink, including delicious freshly squeezed orange juice and a good selection of fresh fruits. Good evening entertainment. The beach is near the hotel and is lovely for swimming. However the hotel is in the center of a party area (being right behind the Megapark) and there were some very seedy characters around and some antisocial behaviour in the daytime. Some people on the beach in front of Megapark in the day were clearly under the influence; men urinated on the streets; pavements had vomit and human excrement. At 1am one morning a police helicopter was circling the area.

We spent 6 days at this wonderful hotel, which surpassed our expectations. The hotel is located a short walk from the beach, however this area is better suited to young people as it gets very lovely from early evening onwards.

The hotel itself seems very new and is constantly being cleaned. Rooms are spacious and well air conditioned.

The dining was exemplary. There was an incredible choice at breakfast and dinner - with multiple food stations catering for all tastes. Sushi, caviar, king prawns, steak (available most nights) and a fresh fish grill made for a great variety of meals. It was probably the best hotel buffet I've tried. I normally prefer a sit down a la carte experience, but this really was very good.

Staff were attentive and friendly, with waiters at hand around the pool to take drinks orders.
The pool is salt water, and probably a little on the warm side. It opens at 10am.

Another plus point was that the hotel does not allow people to reserve sunbeds by putting towels on them - something that can often spoil a holiday.
We are early risers, but there were always beds available long after 10am. The pool area was quiet and very relaxing.

The Heaven Bar on the 7th floor is a lovely place for a sundowner at the end of the day (open from 6pm) and there is live music every night.

Highly recommended, even if the surrounding area isn't that great.

Hotel is a very short walk to the beach, although it is worth noting that in them summer months this beach area can be busy & noisy with young groups as the hotel is close to the MegaPark.

Fantastic Hotel, Poor location

The hotel is 5 star and lives up to the 5 star rating. Inside the secure perimeter it is without one of the best hotels i have stayed in around Europe, and a i have stayed in a lot. Food was great, Very clean. Staff attentive. Pool was grand however the hotel is situated right behind Mega Park and entertainment centre and the location was horrendous. Drunk and high on drugs youths and 20's, all German and a very scary area to pass through. As a family we avoided the area after dark as there were so many drunk people. Bottles and cans everywhere. Not sure if it was just a bad weekend or not but the area is dangerous. Just be aware, The hotel however, couldn't be faulted.

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING, the hotel is fabulous, the staff are fabulous, the rooms are fabulous the cocktails and food are fabulous. I want to say thank the Front Desk staff, who all of them were extra great, George was lovely and noticed that it was my birthday the day I was checking in. I was only checked in for less than 24 hours but I really would love to come back later in the summer and just enjoy everything on offer

Rooms were clean, pretty certain i saw a jacuzzi on the out door balcony advertised when i selected my room but i didn’t receive that did not make a deal about either. Aside from that, everything was great breakfast buffet was excellent, pool was peaceful, hotel property was very clean, beach was area where hotel is located isn’t the greatest but the island is easy to travel around. All staff was friendly and kind.

We had a wonderful stay here. The hotel is clean, bright and spacious. The staff are very friendly and go out of the way to assist. The food choices are amazing! The pool area is lovely and it wasn't too busy during our stay. It was such a relaxing holiday. The only thing that could have made our stay a bit better is if there was tap water available in the lobby or another area, that guests could help themselves to. Apart from that, it was perfect and I would recommend to others.

Beautiful and clean hotel

Had a wonderful stay in this hotel. Accommodation is modern and clean. The restaurant and bars are excellent. Lovely pool area and spa. Decent gym too. The staff are very friendly. However, some seem a little inexperienced and on a couple occasions we were left waiting for drinks. However, they were very apologetic and offered free drinks. Overall, would recommend. Deserves its 5 star rating.

Summary: Stunning hotel, but it is for germans

I had no idea this hotel was dominated by german people. I wish I had of known.

From 9am in the morning there are literally ZERO sun loungers available for the rest of the day. It was absolutely chaos.

We could not sit by the pool once the entire time we were there.

The breakfast buffet was without a doubt the BEST I have ever had in my life. Incredible.

Room was extremely comfy and great value for money.

Summary: Stunning hotel, but it is for german people really, and you cant use the pool unless you get up at 6am for a lounger...

Only stayed 1 night. Hotel and room was spotless, v nice standard. Huge as well, 3 or 4 blocks and multiple pools. Entry gate to complex at beach end saves u walking long way round. Food was great also. Amazing. Being big it felt like u were miles away from anywhere which was perfect. When venturing out I was surprised to see it was like magaluf for non brits. Def a young drunk persons paridise. Def not a quiet beach. Come for hotel not the area.

Great place to have a getaway with friends and family. I would say the surrounding area of the hotel is probably more for a younger beach crowd. Everyone speaks English, Spanish and German. It’s close to centre of Palma, which has relaxing city feel with historic landmarks and beaches. The hotel itself is amazing and has a lot of amenities on location (pool, restaurant, rooftop bar, etc.). It was built in 2017 and has a new/luxury ambiance to it. If you are a male and want to have dinner at the restaurant, please bring some trousers. Overall, highly recommended if you don’t want to stay in the centre de Palma.

The hotel is fantastic - great service, very comfy room, nice pool. Loved that you can't reserve loungers until 10am! Breakfast and dinner had a huge range although the dress code for dinner was baffling - trousers are required for men but you could wear flip flops, dungarees, and keep caps on (saw all of these things!). Area was even more German party zone that I had expected - vomiting, urinating on the street in the middle of the day. I didn't really leave the hotel which was a perfect oasis but wouldn't recommend for families that want to head over to the beach!

The room was spotless and spacious with a large walk in shower, twin sinks I would have liked a bath but there is the spa to relax In. I had a fall body massage I explained in advance that I was suffering with my right shoulder witch they were able to work on with care and after a day or so after I had greater movement so thank you for helping with my recovery the roof top bar was first class service quick friendly

I was really surprised by the property. For the price, I thought it would not be as nice as it was. The hotel is a bit outside of the city, but if you're on a leisurely vacation then it's ok. You can also take a taxi, bus or rent a car to go into the city. The spa is really nice, and so is the pool area. The only thing that was a little offputting was the lack of privacy in the room. The shower had a window into the main sleeping area and no door on the actual which may be good for couples, but not for friends. The window had a blind/curtain, but you could still see the outline of the person in the shower. Again, probably perfect for couples, but not for my friend and me hahaha. Nevertheless, I definitely recommend this hotel!

Perfect hotel, friendly and helpful staff, specially George, he was in the reception. The breakfast is amazing! Very spacious room, swimming pool wonderful, unfortunately because of the weather we could not enjoy the outdoor swimming pool, but we spent the day in the sauna and in the indoor swimming pool.
The only thing is that the hotel is very far from the city center and because of the Easter holiday we could not rent a car (all the cars were rented), so we had to take the bus to the city center and it took us 50 minutes. The bus stop is very near to the hotel. Great place for Germans as everywhere we go they speak German.

Hipotels is a beautiful hotel. When we arrived the concierge was very nice and welcoming. We arrived a bit earlier than check in so we left and came back. Our room was lovely and was the perfect amount of space for two people. My favorite part of the hotel was the spa. However we had to go back and forth from the spa to the reception multiple times to get locker keys and towels, of which they didn’t inform us from the beginning that we needed. Regardless we had a wonderful time. The buffet dinner was fantastic, as well as the rooftop bar and the excellent Flamenco performance that we saw.

The only piece of feedback I would give is that there aren’t any tea or coffee facilities in the room. I booked the junior suite and I think not having any form of tea or coffee facilities, albeit a small thing, does make a difference. Overall though a great hotel.

This is the 4th time we have stayed here. We do so because the hotel has so much going for it. The staff are delightful, the rooms luxurious and the food superb. A huge swimming pool with plenty of sun beds set in really nice gardens. It is also REALLY clean and has an indoor pool and gym. Don’t go anywhere else in Playa de Palma!

Lovely hotel, no complaints

Great infrastructure, friendly staff, spotlessly clean - great rooftop bar, good breakfast - Playa de Palma whilst convenient for airport and Palma City is a very German orientated resort, and is in need of some modernisation. The hotel is brand new and high quality but is lacking in warmth, comfort and atmosphere which is perhaps just my own taste.

A fantastic hotel, great facilities, staff, surroundings and food. I would recommend the half board as the food is out of this world.
Having read through other reviews prior to going, I found most of the negative ones to be inaccurate as me and my wife didn’t encounter any of the problems with drunkenness, noise, sun loungers etc
I would say to anyone looking, ignore all the reviews and check it out for yourself, you won’t be disappointed.

Very clean and modern property. Quite minimalist style. All facilities are as new. Excellent air-conditioning. Buffet breakfast is extensive. Pool and spa very clean. Set 1 street back from the seafront - it's quiet. The general area is predominantly a German resort. Some staff are very good but others not quite there yet with the 5 Star concept. Pool restaurant is reasonably priced as are drinks and cocktails in the bars. Poolside drinks service and nice towels. Always some sunbeds available.

nice hotel, bad location

the hotel is very smart but is in an undesirable location.The bus into Palma takes between 30 and 40 mins. The hotel is opposite a large venue called Mega Park which is a down market club. The immediate area is full of tacky bars and restaurants. The beach is across the road and is an ok beach. The hotel seems to be completely out of place in its location.The staff were generally very helpful other than the lifeguard at the pool. There were not enough sunbeds for guests and you could only get fresh pool towels at certain times of the day. The hotel also charges guests to use the room safe, which for a 5* hotel is very odd! Basically good hotel, 4* not 5* in a dreadful area! would not return for that reason.

Hotel and resort amenities were excellent. I did not agree with the 7€ room service fee to bring us a 6€ soup and 8€ Salad. It also makes no sense to charge a fee for a safe. As a 5 star hotel you should have include this in our booking. Breakfast was 5 stars.

Exceptional hotel and staff, we both had a wonderful time, Half board option was very good with an excellent variety of food on offer, with your choice of fish and meat cooked to order.
The swimming pool and spa are superb, with plenty of sun beds on offer, defiantly have a go at the aqua fit, it’s great fun.
Evening entertainment on level 7 rooftop bar was great with fantastic polite service.
overall we could not fault the hotel or service. We would defiantly return and recommend to others .

Hotel lovely, reception team very helpful and professional. Breakfast was great, Monique's omelettes were a good start to the day. The bar and restaurant staff need a little more training to match the level of service the others provided, more engaging and aware of customers as it was not overly busy so not reason for long waits or being ignored. The area is predominantly a German nationalities hot spot.Overall good and would return

Lovely hotel but area lacks options

The local area is nice if your looking to hang around the pool or the beach but would not recommend it for much else very limited options especially for English travellers. Poor shops, entertainment and average food. A short taxi to palma is definitely worth doing especially in the evening but this can get costly (40 euros return) for longer stays we were only there four days. Hotel is lovely and so is the beach and pool.

One of the BEST hotels I’ve stayed in!

FAB-U-LOUS!! What a fantastic hotel. Can’t really find fault with anything other than what a few other reviewers have said about providing tea/coffee facilities in the room and the room safe should be free in a 5* hotel. That said everything else was first class. The food is unbelievable, anything and everything you could ever wish for. So well presented and so tasty. Staff very friendly, delivering exceptional customer service. Really enjoyed Heaven, the rooftop bar, fantastic atmosphere and brilliant entertainment. I would DEFINITELY go back.

Perfect place for relaxation!

My partner and I spent 3 nights in this hotel and it was amazing! We could not fault the hotel, the staff or the facilities, everything was great and we will definitely be back again!

The rooftop bar is a must visit if you want incredible views of the sea.

Loved it!

Stayed for 5 days (1-6 July), and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Fairly new hotel (opened last year) so as you would expect, it still looks in great condition. very spacious (communal areas as well as rooms). Nice furnishings. Every room has a balcony which may be important for some (it was for me!). Did not have the pool/sea facing side but still found the view pleasant (a large expanse of trees / green space).

The staff were some of the nicest I have met. Most of them were just genuinely friendly and very pleasant (of those I have met, I would like to particularly commend Sam, Entertainment Manager, Javier from the Fish Counter in the restaurant, and Alvaro, one of the waiters, who walks faster than I can run, and swings a tray full of drinks with great dexterity).

The food was excellent with a really wide selection and of good quality. We took the half board option and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

In fact, the only downside to the hotel is perhaps the location. While it is a two minute walk to the beach, it does seem to be an area that draws lots of youth coming to have a wild time and drink a lot. As we did not need to go out in the evening to have dinner, I cannot comment on the quality and range of the nearby restaurants.

There is a gorgeous roof top bar on the seventh floor where you can watch the sun set. Drinks are reasonably priced. On most nights there is live music with different entertainers, and the shows were quite enjoyable.

beautiful, modern, brand new hotel a short walk to the beach. The rooms were very big with huge modern bathrooms. Loved the pool area, lobby and restaurants which were reasonably priced. We loved this hotel! The only downside to this area of Mallorca is the beach. It's beautiful but overrun with 20-30 year old Germans, rowdy and drunk! (and I love Germans, took two years of the language in college.) Go for the hotel and stay at the beautiful pool!

Overall the quality of facilities and treatment of guests at this hotel is outstanding . From the pool
Side service to the vast breakfast and beautiful rooms .
My only niggle is
We had no English breakfast tea at breakfast time . When I asked I was told they only had out what was there , just felt this was not a five star hotel answer consider I could see they had breakfast tea in the bar area.
This however would not stop
Me recommending this hotel to everyone I know or using it again .. still giving them an over all excellent ..

Had a lovely 3 night stay, the hotel and pool are beautiful. The staff are very pleasant and helpful and the service is excellent. Loved the roof top bar. The breakfast buffet was absolutely fabulous. Would highly recommend the hotel.

Where do I start? I've just returned home after a 5 night stay and cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

Check in was speedy and smooth. Our room was huge, light and airy with a large sunny balcony (definitely worth booking a pool view room). Room service was quick and tasty. Every aspect of the hotel was immaculate.

The groundsman keep the pool area so inviting and do a great job every day. The pool is the perfect temperature for a dip, plenty of sun loungers to choose from and a great snack bar.

The spa area is beautiful with pool, jacuzzi, Turkish spa, sauna and eucalyptus steam room. I had an aloe vera body wrap by Christina who left me feeling so refreshed and relaxed.

I was in my element at the breakfast/dinner buffet as I am a bit of a foodie. The grill stations are great with meat and seafood cooked to your liking, choice of salads, paella, sushi, meats, cheeses, desserts, the list is endless.

Heaven, the rooftop bar, is gorgeous at sunset with varied entertainment, my favourite being the modern violinist.

We got a taxi to Palma City which cost 20 euros each way but there is a bus stop outside the hotel if preferred.

Overall this was one of the best hotels I have stayed in.

Horrible reception, did not helpful at all.

I booked excursion tour. Normally, bus tour should pick up in front of hotel but cant believe bus cant come to pick up at this 5stars hotel n staffs did not show pick up point when asking. They pretended keeping busy even though they were not. I almost missed bus n its pretty far away to walk w/o knowing direction!! When i got on bus, bus passed my hotel, omg.. staffs should communicate tour to pick up. Should improve staffs’ behaviour. This 5stars did not hv service mind!!
