I realized that my family and I were not staying at the Plaza however I have both positive and negative comments. For the positive first: staff was helpful, the beds were comfortable with fully sealed mattress covers on the beds to prevent bed bugs and the continental breakfast was fine. Now for the negative comments: the place is old, floor tiles missing in the halls, bath tub looked dirty, it had a broken drain and the biggest issue I had was about safety since the side entrance lock was broken and always always open.

I don't know how this hotel has even an average rating. I would not stay here again. Hallways and stairs were dirty. There were stains on the floor in the room. The bathroom was not clean, and there was a used soap stil in the shower. The hallway smelled like wet dog, and the hotel was very run down. One night, there was a person passed out in the middle of the hallway. Breakfast was okay if you want cereal and waffles. The staff wasn't unfriendly, but they weren't very outgoing either. I do not recommend this hotel

My experience was terrible, the bathroom was very old apparently with a bus station bathroom, there was hair in the bathtub and on the bed .. 2 o'clock in the morning the neighbors in the next room started fighting and I couldn't sleep anymore! Breakfast also left something to be desired...

El personal muy amable Pero honestamente fue lo único bueno del lugar… lo demás es deprimente. Sábanas sucias, baños con pelos, instalaciones con moho, el baño no paraba de cargar agua y hacer ruido porque tenía problema, los extractores sucios en fin quería irme corriendo desde que entré a la habitación. La habitación “no fumadores” olía algo extraña y El pasillo olía a marihuana. Sabía que estaba pagando un hotel económico pero jamás pensé según las opiniones y fotos que había leído/visto que sería una experiencia tan deplorable. Lo siento

No, there wasn’t one. The bed was disgusting, it had bugs crawling on it, food in it, stains all over and multiple hairs all over like it hadn’t been washed and was infested. The staff was incredibly rude when I went to them about these issues and offered zero solutions.

Stayed here recently and overall it was a decent experience for the price—great value if you’re mainly using the hotel as a base for theme parks.
The staff were excellent—friendly, helpful, and quick to respond. The room felt spacious, the AC was nice and cold (a big plus in Florida heat!), and the bed was comfortable for a good night’s sleep.
Breakfast was decent—basic continental stuff like cereal, pastries, and coffee, but it did the job and was included.
On the downside, the shower curtain rod was damaged, so the curtain wouldn’t fully close, which was annoying during showers. The room wasn’t fully clean either—some areas felt overlooked by housekeeping.
That said, for what we paid, it delivered exactly what we’d expect from a budget spot: functional, comfortable basics without frills. If cleanliness and perfect maintenance are top priorities, you might want to look elsewhere, but if you’re after affordable convenience near attractions, this works fine.
Would stay again for the right rate—3.5/5 feels about right.

The locks on the property doors were all busted. In our room we found hair on the shower curtain and moldy Cheetos between the headboard and mattress. The back stairs were so stained and dirty. It just needs some attention and a little cleaning up. Definitely some safety concerns.

I got a look behind the mattress when the pillow slipped down… pretty awful and it clearly never gets cleaned. Lots of roaches in the bathroom ( it is Florida). The sheets and bed were surprisingly comfortable. The road is very loud with the occasional insane car rev.

The hotel is fine. It's a budget hotel listed at a budget price. Things look like they're from the 90s but if your goal is to just have a bed and a shower and no meth being cooked next door, this is the hotel for you.

One gripe I have: they charge an $8/day fee for basically no reason, and you don't find out until you're checking in. I asked the lady what the fee was for, and she just shrugged her shoulders and said \"all the resorts around here charge a resort fee\" and that was that. I could either pay the fee, or find another hotel at 10pm on Friday night. So I paid it, but I'm leaving a review here about it, because junk fees suck.

The room was very dirty. Something running down several walls. Toilet paper wadded up on the holder with purple and blue colors on the rolls. The chair was disgusting. Looked like someone threw up all over it and was left like that. Ceiling particles had fallen all over the mini fridge and floor surrounding it in the entrance area. Bathroom was very dirty. We left and requested a refund. The Hotel would not give us a refund. Hotels.com is still trying to contact them on our behalf to help us get a refund. It was gross.

The gentleman at the reception did a fabulous job checking us in. The building really shows its age and could use some upgrades, but the main complain on my part is the strong smell of cleaning product in the room. Why does it have to be so strong? We kept the patio door open for both days and nights hopping that it would go away. I guess you get what you pay for so I will probably pay more next time.

We booked two rooms. We checked in one room early and paid the charge for that. They gave the option to pay to check in the second room early but we didn’t need it yet, our friends had not arrived so we didn’t want to spend the money. When they arrived at 3:30(half hour after check in) they no longer had a room available. It took until almost 8pm to get that second room available and the front desk guy (I’m assuming the manager) was quite rude.

Mi estancia en ese hotel fue una total pesadilla. La habitación tenia mal olor, las sabanas estaban sucias, habian cucarachas por todos lados. Cobran un extra por limpiar la.habitation lo cual nunca la limpiaron aunq lo pedi varias veces por q el refrigerafor votaba agua. Estuve 5 dias y estuve con las mismas toallas por q nunca habia toallas limpias. El desayuno no era desayino. Solo eran waffles y pan blanco sin tostador. El juego no sabia a nada por q le ponian demaciada agua. No hay ascensor habia q subir las maletas por escaleras. El shampoo era solo una pequeñisimo empaque para 5 dias. Fue una total pesadilla. Pedi varias veces que por lo menos me sacaran la.basura del baño y nunca lo hicieron. Mis vaciones.fueron una total pesadilla en ese hotel.

We didn't get to use the pool because it was too cold but it looked awesome. Breakfast wasn't very much to choose from. Doors to the outside did not lock and they were supposed too.

We had a room with 2 queen beds, 4 people in the room. Those numbers were known before we arrived.
We get the the room, we have 2 bath towels, 1 wash cloth and a towel to dry hands on, but no where to hang that hand towel.
Husband goes to customer service for more towels. He is told to bring the 2 used towels to customer service and we can get new ones. He is given 1 wash cloth and told to bring it back for a clean one as well!
There was 1 very thin bar of soap in the room. We could not get another one to use at the sink to wash hands as we were only staying 2 nights.
The hall we stayed down says no smoking yet reeked of smoke.
The pool was nasty looking.
The lady who checked us in was very rude to us, but friendly with others she spoke Spanish to.

We stayed one night at Garnet Inn and Suites and had a decent overall experience.

The staff was very polite and helpful from check-in to check-out, which we really appreciated. Our room was clean and comfortable, and for a short stay it met our basic needs well.

The biggest downside was the noise. It seems like most of the rooms face the street, and traffic sounds carried through the night, which made it hard to sleep. If you’re a light sleeper, this could be an issue.

We didn’t get a chance to use the pool since the weather was a bit too cool during our visit, so we can’t comment on that amenity.

Overall, not a bad stay for a quick overnight trip, but the street noise would make us think twice about booking again unless that’s addressed.

The bathroom left something to be desired. The shower head was a very basic, soaker kind of shower head. Also, the tub did not drain all that quickly, so you would have to stand in a pool of water for a bit before getting out of the shower. Also, the shower curtain rod was starting to come out of the wall and did not fully keep up the shower curtain.

It was otherwise an ok experience.

The room seemed fine visually, after the third one I went to! It took three tries to get me a room that had working utility. And the third room didn't have roaches, I didn't see roaches anywhere in this place but they had little sugar ant piss ants in the bathroom sink and will the TV is. The first building I went to smell like weed even though they're supposed to be non-smoking rooms. I wasn't really call it a breakfast, an apple an orange cereal and make your own waffle that you can't even make because I couldn't even get the batter out of the container. Red dance directions clears day, pull up on tab I pulled up and nothing happened It didn't budge

Good room. 253 has the handles broken on the faucet. It still works but * forgot to mention it. Internet was good, plenty of outlets. Clean. Bed was comfortable. Had a b.s. arrival charge of 7.99 that was on top of the total that I had reserved. My only complaint.

It was disgusting. There was cockroach eggs laid everywhere. The room in the hallway smell like straight pee , the sheets were all stained. The couch bed was beyond disgusting it was the worst day I’ve ever had. I have pictures of everything too. But we needed a place to stay for the night and it was late already when we got here mind you we drove 21 hours to get treated that way we told the lady in the front and she said she’s sorry that our stay was that bad. Wow so sweet They should’ve gave me my money back.

The bathroom tub had pubic hairs and was rusted out. Took 3hrs for someone to come clean it by then I had showered in my socks already. Room floor was dirty. I had a torn meniscus and when I asked for help with my luggage upon leaving, I was told they were too busy.

The hallway and rooms smell like cigarettes. Of course, they have a no-smoking policy, but I wonder how the odour got there in the first place. No room service, breakfast is merely cereal, bread, and DIY waffles. The bathroom is barely kept; towels are small and useless for drying oneself.

The quality of the hotel and room was extremely poor. Door locks didn’t work, there was no safe, no hot water, the room was dirty, smelled like mold, the hotel was falling apart, and there were homeless people haggling when we tried to get into the hotel. We did not stay the night because of how terrible this hotel was and how unsafe we felt staying there.
Do not be fooled by the 4.6 rating on hotels.com, it is an absolute dumpster. The fact that hotels.com even allows this hotel to be listed is absurd. There is no way it meets any cleanliness or safety standards. I’m not sure how it is legally allowed to function.

They never sent house keeping after a long day at universals we get back to the room the bed is still undone. All of our towels from the night before left wet on the ground bad order in the building. When I got to hotel for check in staff nowhere to be found wasted time of my trip waiting around for the hotel staff to come back from break late just to check us in do a room tha was already paid for. Internet was good. Bed and bathroom were clean except the floors could've been cleaner. I felt better wearing my socks. The hallway floors were a tripping hazard as some areas were warped. The room next door had the TV loud the entire night. My evening was quite unrestful. There was also a lot of traffic noise as the hotel is situated on a busy street. Utterly disgusting. Online pictures DID NOT match the hotel in actual life. Checked in and went to the room... we did not even put our bags down as the whole room was crawling with roaches, bedbugs, and other small beetles. There were hundreds crawing in the room and bathroom. We took pictures and went back to the front desk. Two employees said they did not have the authority to give us a refund, but that the general managers does and would be there at 7am the next morning. We stayed in our car that night at the hotel grounds. The next morning the GM said she didn't have the authority to issue a refund, either, but that she would put a request in the computer. Since she was asking me about contact info and what exactly the complaint was, then said, \"there, I have it\", I asked for a confirmation email of the refund request. She said she hadn't put in the request yet because she had to go to her office to fill out a \"stack of papers\" to request it. She was emotional, loud, and unprofessional. I asked her to lower her voice as she had a dozen people 8' feet away having breakfast. She told me I was ruining her business. I told her I was keeping my voice low so that the other \"guests\" souldn't be able to hear my complaint, but if she would like, I could match her volume. Mind you, the whole lobby/breakfast area stunk of sewer as the manager said the lobby bathrooms flooded. She then said that she'll get to my refund request at some point that week. They should not be licensed.

I checked into the room. Stopped my stuff off, went to go run errands. When I came back there was cockroaches on the walls , floor , bed. I grabbed my stuff and went to the front desk and asked for a different room. The man stayed there was no more rooms available. I asked for a refund, he then said that he couldn’t process a refund and the manger on Monday would. I’ve been calling and calling no answer. Expedia has tried to contact the hotel, no answer. I never stayed in the room. I need my money back.

The room was very untidy and smell terrible like wet rug. Sheets was not clean and rumpled . Even roaches was found. I had to literally clean the roo. My self. When i spoke to thd manager, he stated we are fully booked and made no effort to assist or sent a cleaner. I spent three nights and not once was the linning changed or towels replaced. Thank God i walked with my own stuff.

Breakfast was a no show. Got there at 8am yo be told things finished. Seriously.

Parking was sufficient and the external was not bad.

Will not go again..a 1 star for me.

I stay in budget hotels all year long, but this was the first time I felt like a place was too unsanitary to stay in. The bathroom sink was dirty, the towels were dirty - this place was a disaster.
