This hotel is under major renovations. They don’t have elevators to every floor which is a little difficult for seniors. And there are no amenities at the moment. But what has been renovated is lovely and I’m sure when they are completed it will be very nice all round.

Very disappointing stay.

We booked three rooms for one night through Expedia. Upon check-in, we were informed that the restaurant, swimming pool, fitness center, and several other hotel facilities were closed.
What made the experience even worse was the extremely unprofessional behavior of the two front desk staff（Gurzinran and Shim） working on the evening of June 7. After discovering on the hotel’s official website that guests were supposed to receive a 20% discount due to the ongoing renovations and facility closures, we asked about it and were told that no such discount existed.

We were then assigned rooms that had a strong renovation odor. When we requested a room change because of the smell, the staff moved us to different rooms. Surprisingly, after the room change, they informed us that guests who stayed in the rooms with the renovation odor would actually receive the 20% discount.

The entire situation was confusing, inconsistent, and highly unprofessional. The staff provided conflicting information and showed a lack of honesty and transparency throughout the process.

Overall, this was a very poor experience. The hotel demonstrated little integrity and a disappointing level of customer service. I would not recommend staying here.

Check in was poor, the opposite of user friendly and welcoming. I spoke to the back of a computer and had to balance the card reader on the edge of something to use it. The room was a RIDICULOUSLY long way away from reception, like going to the gate at an airport!
I was informed 2 days before check in that there was building work going on!! It's clearly been going on for a long time so why wasn't this information available at the time of booking? The hotel is being greedy taking guests when they can't really provide the service. There's no restaurant. We went to the recommended alternative grill place next door to be greeted by a server telling us there was a delay because they were short staffed. After a long day this isn't what we wanted to experience. The room was actually nice but the mountain view I paid extra for was in fact a view of the builders' car park. The housekeeping system is that you alert the staff if you want your room cleaned but a male cleaner walked in on us! The drinks machine in the room was good but not enough mugs for the number of guests which is just annoying. Also the walk to town is a long one and there's no bus or hotel shuttle.

We're on a long trip and have already really stayed in a number of hotels so in comparison, this was a really poor experience in terms of hotel staff, facilities (none) and guest comfort. I would advise anyone else NOT to stay in this hotel until the building work is finished at least.

We only stayed at the property for barely 24 hrs. But the property was nice, the room was nice. The first room they tried to give us was quite a walk from the elevators, I had my 85 year old mother with me, so I asked if they had anything closer. They were very accommodating and gave us something very close to the elevator. All in all a great place to stay.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but unfortunately this stay was disappointing, especially considering the price I paid (CAD $592 for one night).

The room itself was very small, and I was assigned a room on the third floor of a building without an elevator, which meant carrying a large checked suitcase up multiple flights of stairs. Upon entering the room, there was a strong chemical/new-furniture odor. I intentionally kept the windows open for several hours after check-in to air it out, but I still woke up the next morning feeling dizzy and uncomfortable. The hot water situation was also frustrating. It took nearly 10 minutes for hot water to reach the bathroom sink. Later that evening, there was no hot water in the shower at all. After waiting more than 20 minutes, I had to call the front desk. To their credit, the maintenance staff responded promptly and resolved the issue, which I appreciated.

However, the next morning at around 10:50 AM, the water supply stopped completely. Not a single drop of water was available. When I contacted the front desk, I was informed that water service had been scheduled to be shut off from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM and that guests had supposedly been notified in advance. I repeatedly confirmed with the staff that I had never received any such notice. The response I received was essentially that there was nothing they could do.

For a property charging this level of rate, I expected a much better guest experience.

The room itself is lovely, but I found it overpriced for what it delivers. Breakfast isn't included in the daily rate, and ongoing renovations meant we constantly had to climb up and down two flights of stairs.

Jasper as a town seemed like recovering from forest fires as most of the places were getting renovated. We stayed in a place where renovation was still happening ( seemed like an expansion). Though room was nice, no amenities were available, little room service. Would recommend this hotel but not have great expectations.

Jasper is a very cute town but this hotel made our entire stay a disappointment. As soon as I got there, they didn’t have any accommodation for my parents who can’t walk long distances. Even though we got first floor, they had to take 2 flight of stairs because of construction. I didn’t care much about the amenities being closed but they gave us rooms in front of Danger sign which had constant noise going on throughout our stay. When asked for help at Front Desk, they blamed on each other instead of helping us out! Rooms itself had very distinct chemical smell. Our lotion, body wash, shampoo and conditioner - EVERYTHING WAS EMPTY! had to get out in middle of shower and my towels were leaving white stains on my body and hair. Turns out, we had same problems in all 3 rooms!!! Our ACs stopped working in the middle of the night. It was sooo frustrating!! The fact that I paid $200 PER ROOM PER NIGHT, is insane to me. The rooms & service were not worth the money at all! Honestly ruined our entire experience.

This place was 2.5 ~ 3 star US motel standard. Half of hotel was under renovation, no amenities. Staff was recommending going to other neighboring property for pool, restaurants etc. Room we got was renovated, but no closet in room, no iron... overall not happy.
I planned two day trip, but left after one day. Hotel staff did refund one day... so no issues.
I will not stay here again or recommend it.

The hotel is under renovations, so the place was a bit chaotic, but the staff were very nice and helpful. We were very happy with the room we got, which was very nice, new, and clean. Because our room was in the new wing and the elevator there was not yet working, we had to take the elevator near the lobby to the second floor, roll our luggage into the new wing, and carry it up a flight of stairs to get to our room. It was quite a long trek. We expect that the renovations will soon be finished and these issues can be avoided. There was ample parking when we were there. We would recommend the hotel once the renovation is complete and would stay there again.

Hotel was amazing the pictures of the rooms dont do them justice, only a 10 minute walk into Jasper. We saw elk outside our room at night which was amazing! No breakfast included but i think that is a standard in this area. Rooms were very comfortable. Definitely a good option when staying in Japser.

We’ve always liked the Forest Park Hotel. We used to stay there when it was the Sawridge. The original hotel is currently under construction, with 1/4 of it open to guests. During our most recent stay, we were given the option to stay in the newly built part of the hotel for an additional charge. It’s very beautiful, but we still prefer the old charm of the original part of the hotel. Overall, it’s always a great stay.

The newly renovated rooms at the forest park are really nice. We had a kitchenette room. There were a few kitchen items missing but the staff quickly delivered everything we asked for. My son forgot a toothbrush and they also delivered us a little travel toothbrush and toothpaste which saved us a trip to the store.
We were there over spring break and the hotel is undergoing a major renovation. This is definitely needed as I stayed in one of the older rooms last year and it was not great and had a funky smell. Because of the renos, parking is tight be we still got a spot when we needed. The pool is closed but they provided us with access to the pool (essential with our kids) at the Marmot which is next door. I only have good things to say about the property and how they are navigating the renovation, however I am a bit disappointed with Expedia. They did not know of or disclose the renovation and lack of on-site swimming pool (which is actually why we chose this property). If I had booked through the hotel directly, that would have been transparent AND they were offering a 20% discount because of the inconvenience. I paid more through Expedia than I would have if I had booked on my own.

The room was clean, spacious, with comfortable beds and a balcony (from which we watched an elk herd which passed by grazing every one of the six days we stayed). The pool and other parts of the complex were undergoing renovations, but the hotel did provide passes to \"sister hotels\" in town for pool, gym, and hot tub use.

Lovely stay in Jasper! The hotel is at the north end of the town, quiet area and close to the road leading to Lake Maligne. The beds were super comf, and the accommodations were just right, easy parking during the off-season. We didn’t use the kitchen but it was super convenient to have a compact one in the room. We will absolutely stay here again next time we come.

A great stay at Forest Park. The kitchen facilities were excellent and meant that we could have breakfast in, make lunch and treat ourselves to a few dinners out in Jasper during our stay. Ideal for driving up to Marmot Basin and exploring the national park as well as walkable into Jasper shops/restaurants for evening.

After the cancellation deadline we received a message from the hotel saying there is construction so no elevator, pool, etc. It’s in extremely poor taste to not inform guests before the cancellation deadline so we could have cancelled and booked elsewhere. AVOID the non-suites, book the suites so at least you get a finished hotel and an elevator. There is active construction going on across the hallway, no elevator and all amenities are at other hotels.

Small kitchen was a marvel with all amenities including a tiny dishwasher. It was fully equipped as well for home prep meals. We had our dog with us and they situated us in rooms with ground level access to greenspace from patio doors. It was ideal and great for late night pee breaks.

As of April, 2026, be aware that major renovations are currently happening in one of the hotel's several buildings--and will be ongoing for at least several more months. If you are put in one of these rooms, your stay will definitely not match the pictures on Expedia. My outside window was so filled with scaffolding I couldn't see the sky (or anything else). There was also no functioning elevator--which made hauling gear up to the third floor fairly annoying.

Amenities were scored low because of the renovations. However, they also had sister hotels guests could access if they really wanted to soak in a hot tub or hit a close restaurant.
We have been staying in the newer side of the hotel since it opened. While there were a few room hiccups when it opened, those were all sorted out.
What struck me on this trip was that even though the rooms have been open for quite a few years now, they are still really well maintained. Nothing is broken and they maintain rooms to the same level as pre-Covid. So many hotels we stay at have cut corners like cheaper shampoos or making up rooms on a daily basis. The perks that make you feel like you are on vacation. Forest Park hasn’t made these same concessions. I would definitely recommend to anyone staying in Jasper.

There was an Avalanche on the hiway, therefore we needed to cancel our stay. There was no way to get to the hotel and the road was closed. When we booked the hotel it was non-refundable, however I thought because it was out of our control that we would attempt to cancel it without charges. Expedia even tried to cancel it on our behalf, however the hotel denied it. I will never stay there, and would strongly urge others not to stay there either.

The rooms were nice, but we did have to wash the coffee maker. It looked like someone was making coffee out of sand.

Jay at the front desk was excellent, and the checkin was smooth. We arrived late, so he gave us a late checkout.
