A few days later we stayed at the Pear Tree Hotel near the airport. We gave it an excellent review.
This hotel was a bit more worn down. The staff was friendly, but a few things were lacking: we asked for a new coffee pot because the one in the room had dirty water in it. A replacement was never delivered. The pool was way too busy. We were not personally notified of drinks and snacks in the evening.
The location is good, being very close to our trolley tour, downtown, the Arch and the Busch stadium.

Probably one of the worse hotels I've visited, the staff was nice and the front desk clerk was very skilled at her job.. she could handle guest check in and personal business on her phone at the same time...
But other than that the pear tree inn was abysmal, the rooms a little larger than a closet, the food... breakfast was watered down gravy, eggs from a bag, no donuts, only two waffle irons, no bacon, and happy hour was decent the snacks are sufficient, no room service, bathtub was wretched. Pool was tiny, hot tub fit two people in it comfortably, and there were what seemed to be some kids hanging out the whole time in the pool area that was not guests nor supervised by parents because the doors were propped open the whole time. I imagine they were the children of staff but they bullied my daughter and harassed other guests..
I was really shocked to see drury's name on it.. this is why the hotel industry will fall to the bnb i paid the same price for two nights in a house by a lake in the country with a playground, two baths thr bedrooms my own kitchen, a grill all on one floor.. blew the hotel stay away
oh and the pictures displayed by hotels.com were inaccurate as all get out

We rented 2 rooms. They only had one room for my wife. And I and not for my son. And then when we had to take my son twenty minutes away, one way they charged us full price and said it was our fault.Because we were a walking at the pear tree.By the airport, the company was disgusting.Not the people

for the price, we weren't expecting some of the amenities that we received, but we left highly pleased with our stay! the breakfast was simple (biscuits, eggs, sausage & gravy, with pancakes, cereal & fruit) but plentiful. the coke machine & coffee machine was an awesome convenience, and the drinks, chips & salsa during happy hour was a great add-on. the pool was great, the hot tub was HOT, and the room wasn't huge, but it was big enough, and with great views. minutes from Union Station (we walked there several times), a short drive to the zoo (free zoo, by the way), and a straight shot to the Gateway Arch & Busch Stadium. the staff was amazing, very courteous. everyone that we interacted with was super nice (even when I dropped a cup of cranberry juice all over myself & the floor). check-in & out was a breeze. we will definitely be staying here again, and we will definitely recommend!

I’ve stayed in a lot of cheap motels, but this one takes first prize for sleep deprivation. Literally zero minutes. Every time the person upstairs took a step or rolled over in bed its sounded like the ceiling was about to give out. People entering the hallway from the outside sounded like they were in the room with us even when speaking at normal conversational levels. The a/c never worked. Only three buttons worked on the TV remote and channel wasn’t one of them. All in all an utterly miserable night. Motel 6 is a mistake I won’t make again.

The breakfast this hotel is good, biscuits and gravy were great and the mini blueberry muffins are good. The pool area is mediocre but we had to ask a couple times for pool towels as it never had towels. They were busy so that was understandable.
The staff are helpful but our check in and many things were frustrating. We booked a king size bed and pull out couch and did not get that room that we reserved. Due to medical needs, we would have preferred that setup but it wasn’t even offered despite us booking and paying far in advance. When we got to our room, there were many things we noticed. The shower curtain was ripped, the way it’s set up it doesn’t even close on either side. There’s a handicap bar in the shower but you constantly hit it with your arm/elbow. There is no fan in the bathroom so the amount of steam is absolutely stifling. You could hear some kind of dripping from above and the ceiling had been patched in terrible condition. The shower floor looks stained and is pretty gross. The toilet didn’t flush. My husband opened the back of the toilet up and connected the chain for the flush/adjusted it so it would flush. There was only 2 towels in the bathroom but when we booked we said 4 people. There was garbage behind the tv stand- like food wrappers. The plug ins were hit and miss in the room with what would work when plugging in chargers and medical devices. The night stand lamp didn’t work on one side for chargers.

For a busy weekend, the staff was very amenable. With all the kids and teens, we didn’t really partake of the pool and hot tub, but it looked well maintained. The free, secure parking is a big plus!!! The room was clean and comfortable. The location is right next to Energizer Field, so if you are a soccer fan you are right there. Union Station is close, too. Overall a nice place.

Gail at the front desk was super nice and helpful at check in. They offer 3 free drinks (beer or wine) per person between 5:30-7pm plus snacks (we had nachos, chips and pretzels. There's also a popcorn machine with free popcorn between 4:30-8pm and a free soda fountain. The free parking garage was super convenient. Pool was warm and the restaurant on site had pretty good food. Complimentary breakfast had a lot of options including waffles, cereal, biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage patties, muffins, bagels, yogurt, 3 different juices, the coffee was typical hotel coffee (not drinkable). Our room was very clean and comfortable, the bathroom needs some updates but the shampoo, conditioner and soap dispenser in the shower was nice. We would definitely stay here again, our 10th floor room was around $140 for mother's Day weekend. A short walk or drive to union station and a short drive to the zoo. The staff we encountered were the nicest hotel staff I've ever had.

The extra happy hour snacks and drinks was a welcoming plus and was very much appreciated from the staff. They have nightly snacks and drink options from 5-7pm that were pretty good. Everything was clean and maintained. The restaurant that's attached to the hotel offers shuttles to different areas if you dine with them which was helpful for the ballgame. The parking was a little confusing at first, there is a parking garage but you have to have your room key to enter. We did not utilize the pool area but it did have a decent indoor pool. I would stay again.
