Good location for Arch and Cardinal game. The room was pretty good. Valet parking was a little slow since only 1 person was trying to do it all. He was working hard, but it was just him.

Excellent hotel in a unbeatable location. A five-minute walk to the Gateway Arch, as well as close to public transportation. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was in excellent condition. But the location is the main selling point. Only slight downside was one of the two elevators was undergoing repairs, leaving only one available. Not terribly inconvenient and easily manageable.

The staff was very helpful. I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the room. There was garbage in the trash, can from the prior people who stayed there and hair in the sink. There was also stains on the carpeting and on the couch in the room, the reduced price on the breakfast is a nice benefit for a downtown hotel, and the in and out privileges with the Quik Park next-door is a nice benefit. One of the elevators was down during our entire stay so that was also disappointing.

The hotel is located perfectly in the downtown area in walking distance of Busch Stadium, Arch and convenient stores. If you take the train its less than 10 minutes away from the hotel. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

We have had a cousin reunion before the cardinal game. We have 9 couples and some fly in from Texas and California. We all meet in lobby bar. Find out bar doesn’t open till 5 even day of games. But we re told we can’t bring our own. And the only thing sold in gift shop is beer. No wine!!

Twice we ve had trouble w breakfast. Last year we waited over half hour to get orders taken! This year buffet, but NO eggs at buffet from 9 am till 9:40! And it’s a $20 buffet. And then we re told that for our large group we could only have 4 separate checks. And then then waiter brought an extra out and wanted us to pay for more buffets than we had. We can walk to several other restaurants in the area. Not happy for this quality and price range hotel

This hotel is beautiful, very clean, and had very comfortable beds! Dining options in the area were limited, so we ate at the hotel. Our only complaint was that most of the menu options were not available, which was especially difficult with kids. However, the food we did order was delicious. The breakfast bar is only available on weekends, and other days it is a la carte, which can be slower than the breakfast bar if you're needing something quick. We loved the beautifully preserved features of the historic bank that was on the property previously. Valet service for parking was wonderful, and all of the staff were polite and courteous. It's walking distance to the Arch and driving distance for some fun activities like the City Museum and Botanical Gardens. Would definitely recommend this hotel!

The building looks old from the outside, but wait till you enter. It is gorgeous. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The dining room is nicely set up with table service. Breakfast is made to order. Everything is just perfect. The staff is courteous, polite and knowledgeable. Would recommend highly 10 out 10

The restaurant meals were very good and the staff was quick and friendly.
The valet staff was always friendly and ready to help.
I was surprised to have been charged an extra $25 just to check in early even though the room was clearly ready since I was able to go upstairs right away. I don’t know what the extra $25 was for.
The hotel itself was located in a good location so I was pleasantly surprised to be within a realistic walking distance to several tourist attractions.

Very clean! Friendly staff! They were able to accommodate an early check in for $25 dollars which I was fine paying because I arrived very early. Very close to the Arch! Easy walk to Busch Stadium. I would definitely stay there again!

The room was quite large in size, a couch or love seat would have been preferable to the one small chair. Mattress had much to be desired, very soft, probably needed replaced. Bottom sheet didn’t even cover the mattress on the side. We had an issue with the toilet running but the did come up and fix that the day we reported it. HVAC was rather loud and blew quite forcefully, had to keep adjusting the thermostat

The Hotel was convenient to the my location for Saint Louis University Graduation. The Hotel was clean and served a very good buffet breakfast. The Hotel did accommodate me and I was allowed early check in. Front desk staff was professional and pleasant and also, gave me two complimentary bottles of water. Also, the Hotel did have validated parking for duration of my stay which was absolutely good. The staff did an excellent job cleaning and keeping the room stocked. I would definitely recommend this hotel for Downtown stay in St Louis.

The valet staff wasn’t very friendly at all, they didn’t take the time to help set up text message alerts for calling the car ahead of time. Instead they gave me a ticket which meant it was more difficult to pick up my car. Considering the cost for valet is $49 + tax, it was definitely not work it and I wish I could get my money back for the poor experience at an expensive 4 star hotel. The cleaning staff also knocked on my door well before check out, waking me up.

The staff was incredible! I did the Hilton virtual key because my flight got in around midnight and when I got up to my room my door was wide open. The staff handled it so kindly, and they even sent the security guard up to my room with me while moving me to a new one. Both were so kind and handled the situation perfectly.

I will say the rooms are nice but the bed and pillows are awful. I’m not too picky when it comes to that stuff but my neck is still pretty tweaked.

Otherwise great staff great property!

This hotel had a very elegant modern vibe while encapsulating the big city bustle, it was very convenient to the stadiums, the arch and the river. The only downfall which is not their fault is the dilapidated hotel right across the street, definitely an eyesore but hopefully the city will have an amazing opportunity to revitalize that area! But back to this idea hotel, it was very clean and comfortable!

We arrived half an hour after check-in and waited 30 minutes in line to check into the hotel. Upon finally getting to the desk, we were told our room was not ready, and the staff had no idea when it would be. Needless to say, we were not happy having to take our bags all the way back to our car, parked down the block. We returned five hours later after the Cardinals game had ended, and our room was ready. The hotel comped us appetizers and drinks which we took advantage of because of the delay in check-in. We had a corner room on the seventh floor, which was really big, very comfortable and super clean. I was very impressed. although it was very annoying at the initial check-in, I was very pleased with the hotel itself, it was very quiet on a Saturday evening and we ended up having a nice day.

I want to take a moment to recognize Rahma at the front desk—her customer service was exceptional. When we arrived, the room we reserved with two beds was not available, and only a king room remained. We were on a tight schedule for a concert and needed to get ready quickly, so waiting wasn’t really an option.

Rahma immediately stepped in with solutions. She offered a rollaway bed and, more importantly, went above and beyond by offering to comp our dinner to make up for the inconvenience. That level of attentiveness and care made a stressful moment feel completely manageable. That’s what true customer service looks like.

I’ve stayed at the Hilton Pennywell in St. Louis multiple times, and experiences like this are exactly why I keep coming back. The location is great, the bar is always a go-to spot for us, and the food is consistently delicious.

I also want to acknowledge the bar staff. The young woman serving us was clearly very busy but still did her best to stay attentive, and the gentleman who delivered our food was kind and professional. Together, they made our experience even better.

Overall, this team made a lasting impression. The Hilton Pennywell has become my go-to hotel whenever I’m in St. Louis.

The staff were incredibly kind and friendly. The room left a lot to be desired. A half-used roll of toilet paper, an empty tissue box, and a spent conditioner container that was never refilled were disappointing, as was having to spend 30 minutes scanning for channels because no one had bothered to set the television up properly. Very first world problems, but we expected more from Hilton. Will likely choose competitors in the future, but you hired great people at your front desk and restaurant staff. They should be commended. I have no doubt the cleaning staff are bound by corporate penny pinchers ruining the kind of experience excellence that was the norm in our parents’ day.

Breakfast was not included in the already high price of the room. If youregoing to hace to pay for breakfast, then just go to a restaurant near by. The valet guy was great, the check in girl was super friendly. The evening front desk clerk was very rude and dismissive, didn't even look up when asked if the bar served food? Our bathroom had the used towels from the previous guest and the beds were very uncomfortable. We sank into the middle when we laid down. Will not be staying there again.

Our stay at the Pennywell was great! We arrived before checkout but we were able to leave our bags at the front desk so we could explore. We were in town for Opening Day and the hotel was very close to the stadium, which was great. It is also super close to the Arch as well. Lots of food options around the hotel to check out. Room was clean and well kept. Although, our view was less than desirable as our window faced a brick wall but, we spent most of our time in St. Louis out and about. But, if thats important to you, you might want to request a specific room. Overall, great stay and I'd stay again if we went back to St. Louis!

The only major drawback occurred over the weekend when one of the main elevators went out of service. While mechanical issues are understandable, the lack of communication was frustrating. There was no signage posted at the elevator banks to alert guests or direct them to the service stairs/alternative lifts. This led to a lot of confusion and long wait times in the lobby, which took away from the otherwise seamless \"vibe\" of the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel for its excellent location and superb staff. If they can improve their internal communication and guest signage during maintenance issues, it would easily be a five-star stay.
