The hotel room was a little dirty, the couch and chairs had crusty, dried food on them. The area in the front of the elevators had a spilled bag of chips for the duration of our stay. Staff was super friendly and helpful with parking. No big trashcan in the kitchen was odd, bathroom trash cans filled up very quickly.

First room smelled like cigarette smoke covered up by heavy perfume. They moved us to another room and it smelled like sewer with particles of something in the bathtub. The third room was finally okay. The young lady at the desk was very apologetic and was very accommodating. The beds were comfortable and the complimentary breakfast was good.

Not sure why this property was rated so highly, usually hotels.com gets it right, but this place was really worn down, staff was not caring, had to pay $26 to self park, and we had lady bugs living with us in our tiny suite. Seriously, the suites are really small and the only thing good about it was the king bed. We were stuck due to a snow storm so we had breakfast the next morning and moved to the Drury Inn Forest Park down the road where we received far better service & amenities, not to mention temp-controlled garage for free!

This is not a residence inn , this is a quality inn . Kids found someone's underwear int sofa bed switched room and there cereal crumbs in the furniture. This hotels staff needs customer service training and the cleaning people need training . The front desk exhibits a lack of concern for issues.

Love the 2 bedroom reservation: one bedroom with a king bed as well as a bathroom with the 2nd bedroom with 2 double beds as well with a bathroom. Love the couch, TV area as well as a kitchen. With my daughter having celiac, we must carry food safe for her to eat. The full sized fridge was great to hold what we brought. Best bonus: a freeze large enough to keep our freezer packs frozen for use on the way home if needed. Beds are soft. Pillows for us, were a bit too firm.

Staff was not very knowledgeable - requested a one bedroom suite with queen bed - that’s what they said we were getting but when we went to the room, it was a lousy double sofa that was sagging bad. Dishwasher was not working and the dishes from the previous guest were still sitting in the dish washer.
Parking said $15 on Expedia, but got charged $30.

For the kind of money I spent on this stay, there should have been room service! Couldn't get fresh towels without having to go to the front desk, trash and towels piled up for our 3 day stay. The pool was over chlorinated. My granddaughters eyes burned for hours after getting out and settling in for the night.

Also the tub leaked when my daughter wanted to take a shower! I guess it was the head maintenance man, (Dan) who told me that the rooms were outdated and the tub's gasket that allows overflow to the drain was old and needed to be replaced and they hadn't gotten to this room (410) yet.

The room smelled, possibly from previous overflowing. There were no other options when we got there so we were stuck with the room. I am highly disappointed.

The only good thing about it is the location and breakfast. Close to the Zoo and Arch. Overall I've seen better Super 8's.

I enjoyed the location and the staff were very friendly and respectful. I didn’t enjoy the smell of the rooms and the hallway. The halls smell like marijuana and dog piss/poop. At night it was unsafe because of the unsheltered that lived in the hotel. I expressed my concerns to the manager for a refund. My room when I arrived was dirty and the bed linen was also dirty.

I stayed here for a month. My third day I told them that the AC unit was leaking and that my rooms floor was soaking wet. They proceeded to do nothing for the entire month, no matter how many times I told them about it. The front desk was extremely rude to me about everything and constantly brought up the fact that I booked through hotels.com and several people said “ well it may be cheaper. The quality of your service will not be as good”. All the staff was very rude and dismissive.

Our room was a bit beat up in ways. Main door didn't close easily or quietly. Freezer smelled like pickles. There was a spoon in the disposer. Suite bedroom window had a huge taped up crack. Bedroom TV color was bad. Main room TV remote didn't work on it and the only thing you could do on that TV was plug in your own HDMI cable. Closet doors were hard to open as if they were not on the rails. Bathroom door didn't close easily.

Unfortunately, this hotel is not in the best location and is not walkable at all. However it is convenient to SLU and surrounding areas.
The property itself is a little run down and I've elevator was down while we were there. Me thankfully, we were on the third floor and could take the stairs. Paying for parking is ridiculous given that we paid for the room and it should be included.
I wouldn't start here again knowing that, but it's a decent place to stay right off the highway

Some of the room features were definitely neglected. Tons of dirt build up on vents, garbage in hallway for 24 hours. Baseboard was separated from wall and mold was on wall behind it, damp carpet under the window, peeling paint on the bathroom door.

The one bedroom suites only have queen size beds and not king. We preferred a king and thought the suites had a king size bed. That was very disappointing.

Check-In went well but once in room I started getting a little irritated. The mattress did not fit in bed rail and the rail was so close to the wall due to it being longer than the mattress that it was very hard to get to the other side of the bed without injuring yourself which I did twice because you couldn’t see it due to the sham overlapping it. The TV would not turn to face the sofa nor the bed so we tried to turn the stand that the TV was sitting on towards the bed and the bottom of the old stand was breaking. We went to turn the TV on and it kept saying that there was no signal. We called down to the front desk to alarm them that the TV was not working and we were trying to watch the game and they said they were gonna send someone up. Waited 10-15 minutes, No one ever came up. We called back to the front desk and asked, could they just give us a new room they agreed so my husband went down to get new keys to the new room. As we settled into the new room, we discovered that the freezer did not have an icemaker, but it had the ice bin to catch the ice in it and when we went to the first floor to get ice out of the ice machine, that was nasty and dirty, and it was infested with some little flying net Bugs. I’m not sure if they were fruit flies or what they were. The curtain had a nasty brown stain on it, on one side of the mirror the light was not working, and the bulb was out in the bathroom where the toilet and shower was, only one elevator working. Underwhelming Visit

I recently stayed at this property and unfortunately the experience did not meet expectations for a Marriott brand hotel.

During my stay, there was ongoing construction/repair work on the floor where our suite was located. This allowed small flies and gnats into the area, which was unpleasant. Cleanliness overall was below standard — walls and doors had visible food residue that had not been wiped down properly.

One of the bedroom doors locked automatically when closed, which posed a significant **safety hazard** for us. Additionally, neither of the televisions in the bedrooms worked correctly. One required re-synchronization by maintenance, and the other was deemed in need of replacement.

Check-in was also a slow process, although the staff did accommodate us with early check-in, which we appreciated. However, one elevator was out of service during our stay, which made moving around the hotel less convenient. When I was calling for a late check out, it took the desk clerk 3 phone calls to answer.

Overall, the property felt poorly maintained, and the level of cleanliness and functionality was well below what I expect from Marriott. With attention to detail, improved maintenance, and a stronger focus on guest safety and comfort, this could be a much better experience, but as it stands, it was disappointing.

While staff was friendly, they were way understaffed and not able to tend to all matters of the hotel properly. It also seems like there isn't much budget for updates.

The couches, carpet and mattress were stained. The room smelled strongly of pets and there was hair from previous lodgers in the room.

One of the elevators was broken, and the elevator lobby smelled strongly of smoke. With COPD and asthma it was hard on my lungs. The pool was also very unclean. While there, we witnesses the exterior pool door being propped open and someone off the street came in to use the exercise room.

Unfortunately, this hotel did not have a working pool during our stay, the coffee machine in our room didn’t work, one of the elevators was out of order, our keys stopped working on day 2, the fitness center had poor ventilation and fans/AC, and there were dirty towels left inside the pull out couch from the previous guests.

I would still stay here again because it was a great deal for a holiday weekend, just don’t expect the same level of quality as other Marriott or Residence Inn hotels.

The staff was very friendly, especially Angie at breakfast. The options at breakfast were plenty. However, the property was not what I expect from a Residence Inn. The pool was out of order when we checked in. I was told it would be back in order the next day. The out of order sign was still up the next morning until I asked about it. Then they took the sign down. The next morning the sign was back up again? The entire pool area is in need of maintenence - ceiling, walls, interior of pool, deck, etc. One elevator was out of order. The hallways smelled of urine or dirty diapers, my son thought a dog kennel. There was a smell coming from our, yet unused, garbage disposal. The pillows were lumpy. The back of the bathroom door had what looked like wet toilet paper splattered on it with some on the adjacent wall. The bowed shower curtain rod was mounted so that the curtain slid to the center, so water got out on both ends. The ceiling in the bathroom was crumbling from mold because the exhaust fan didn't work in the shower/toilet area. I wonder why there is an iron gate around the property, but its not being used?

We only stayed one night while in town for the Sza concert and only in the room for a total of 5 hours, so didn’t really use a lot. Ok cleanliness and pretty much the normal older Residence Inn style. Staff was really friendly though and the room was comfortable. It was not necessarily a scary area but their parking lot was tricky with different gates going in and out depending on time of day.

We went to a cubs cards game so this hotel was a perfect spot. The staff was sooo nice and helpful. It needs to be updated. Breakfast was good and lots of variety. I think some of the damage was due to being pet friendly. Scratches on walls and stains. The bed was very comforable.

A lot of things to do and restaurants around the property. The value is what you consider here. The pool was really gross though. It was foggy and there was stuff floating around. The breakfast was one of the best ive ever had at a hotel. We had a room with a view of the ferris wheel. The room was clean. Checkin was great. Had an issue with the room. The floor around the tv was soaking wet. There is electrical outlets arpund it and cords nearby. Told the front desl at 545pm when I discovered it and they said they would send maintenance. Waited for an hour and maintenance didnt show. Went to my event, came back and asked the lady at the front desk if she heard back from maintenance. She told me she didnt have any information about wet carpet in my room. The floor is still soaking wet, they didnt offer to switch my room. Just let me in it and did nothing. If i sdidnt get back so late i wouldve asked for a manager. Will not stay here ever again.

However, one of the things my kids was looking forward to was the pool and the hot tub- The hot tub was empty and the pool was too highly smelling of chemicals 🙁

I would start with saying the staff was extremely friendly. The room booked was NOT what we were assigned at arrival on the property. Booked a 3-bed double room suite and the room only had 2 beds and a pull-out sofa bed. Then the first room we had assigned to us the pull-out sofa bed frame was completely broken and absolutely no able to be used to sleep on. Transferred us to another room and that sofa bed was still very uncomfortable but was able to be used. The tub facet in one of the bathrooms leaked and dripped all the time, never turning off. I would not choose to stay here ever again.

Hotel was pretty good, pull out sofa was terrible. Dirty, thin, slumped down at the feet.

The bathroom and kitchen sink were leaking leaving the floor wet and one of the two elevators wasn’t working. Property in very bad state of maintenance.

Bring Your Own Hairdryer

Overall the hotel was nice. The room was comfortable. Front desk service was a little lacking. I needed to use the hairdryer in the room. Plugged it in…did not work. Went to front desk (had to wait almost 10 mins for someone to come out of the back) asked for a replacement. Got it and went back to my room. It did not work. Had to leave for my 7am meeting. Came back that afternoon and went down to get a replacement hairdryer. Took almost 20 mins to get a replacement. Plugged it in and it did not work. Took third hairdryer back to front desk. Someone from housekeeping was a front desk. Rep asked her to go and find me a hairdryer that worked. When she came back almost 20 mins later. Housekeeper handed me the hairdryer. I said thank you and she just turned and walked away. I guess I inconvenienced her. Front desk and overall customer service could have been a little nicer. Probably wouldn’t stay here again when I go back for business.

Not what the pictures show, property grounds not very clean- garbage all over in parking lot, property has fence all the way around it but anyone can come in and out of the property. Our suite had broken shelf, bathroom door didn’t close all the way, smelled like stale cigarette smoke. You have to pay $30 for parking- shouldn’t have to if I already paid $350 for a room. Check in staff is rude. Dining/breakfast area was not very clean, most of the tables were dirty. Coffee containers were all empty, when told staff they- the lady just walked away. Felt like we were an inconvenience for being there.
