Proximity to event centers was good. However, lack of parking and misrepresentation of free breakfast was disappointing. Room was not very clean and in need of some minor repairs (towel bar was not fully attached, shower stall was dirty). Air conditioning did not work well at all.

Our stay at Hotel Indigo was extremely disappointing. The staff member that checked us in was extremely rude and not personable. The first room we were assigned to was not very clean and had two tiny beds. We requested a new room and after much grief from the previously mentioned staff member, we were finally given a new room.. once we got to the new room, the AC unit didn’t work, the window shades did not work, nor did any of the lighting in the room work with the exception of the bathroom light. We notified the desk staff and she asked what we expected her to do about it.. so we just tried to make the best of it as we didn’t want to be out the money for two hotels.. on the second night of our stay, the elevator went out.. our room was on the 9th floor of the hotel. We received no communication, no apologies, no nothing about this.. the rooms do not feature microwaves, refrigerators, the bathroom had broken tiles & were not very clean. The sliding bathroom door got stuck and my husband had to pry it open to get me out.. the entire hotel - lobby, elevators, and rooms smelled. I really have nothing good to say about this hotel. Our experience was awful.

The customer service was fantastic. Very nice and friendly. I just wish the rooms matched. Our first room we were given always very small. The tv did not work and my husband was stuck in the bathroom for 15 minutes due to the door jamming. He had to run and shoulder the door multiple times in order for it to open (and my husband is a strong bulky guy). The second room they switched us to was bigger but it was dirty. The shower had hair on the floor and walls. The bed had yellow stains on the shirt, and the floors had visible dirt. We cut our stay short. The front desk were very understanding and kind and offered solutions but after 2 room switch it was enough for us. They did refund us back some of our money without being asked. I will not be returning and do not recommend.

There were fingernail clippings on the carpet and it was loud, inside and outside of the hotel. The mattress frame was dirty. There wasn’t a fridge or microwave. The air conditioner worked really well though. If I had read the reviews before my stay, I probably would not have stayed here. I would not recommend this hotel.

Rooms are nice and modern, but no fridge, small. Front desk is not friendly at all. Surrounding area is a bit sketch. Hotel doesn’t have parking of their own so you need to drive around and try to find something that looks safe. Parking garages don’t post price and hotel front desk doesn’t help in any way other than say it’s around the corner.

We arrived in a thunderstorm. There was no parking in the four spaces that were for “loading” so we had to park off- site and wheel our bags through the torrential rain. We later learned the staff was using the passenger loading area to park their personal vehicles. Front desk staff was very unfriendly. We had two rooms, and asked for an extra hour extension for checkout. They refused. Would not recommend booking here.

We came down for the baseball game and picked this hotel because it was central location to the ballpark and the Arch. When we went to check in at 3:15 the room was not ready we didn't get into the room till 4pm. The room was nice but when my wife went to turn on the water to cold it was real hot, she let it run but never got cold when she turned the water to hot it was so hot you could not touch it. We informed the front desk of the problem and they sent someone up to look into the cause. We went to the game and when we got back the water issue was still not fixed so we had to shower in another room. The next day we were moved to another room. The day we were leaving there was only one elevator working so I had to carry the luggage down the stairs because the wait was taking to long. The manager did make and moved us to another room.

Arrived at 5:30 pm, rooms were not ready for check. The ceiling in the lobby was leaking while wait to be checked in. Was not given the QR code for parking after I asked twice for hotel parking. I was directed to the wrong parking garage and then only to find out later by security that I should have received a QR so I’m not paying multiple times for a one night stay. The hotel only provided one key card that we had to share with the my family. Terrible experience overall and will not stay again

Booked our room same-day on our way home because it was close to the arch. Check in process was easy and informative, but we didn’t like having to park off-site. Walking back to the hotel at 11pm in the dark felt unsafe. The rooms were comfy and aesthetically nice, but you can hear everything outside — even five floors up. Vehicles honking, trucks clanging, homeless people screaming… the works. We were also bummed when we went down to get breakfast to see a sign that said “sorry no breakfast today”. I purposely booked a place that included breakfast so this was sorely disappointing and ended up costing us more money in the long run.

My room was very dirty. You could tell the floor had not been swept or vacuumed. There was multiple toenails I could see on the floor as well as hair. When I turned on the shower the water ran dirty into the drain... never have I seen that happen in a hotel. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful during my stay. I like the view of the room to see downtown. The hotel was convenient to the Arch and other destinations besides Union Station. The room was clean and I like the painting on the wall. The phone didn’t work, no fridge or microwave. The microwave is small and shared on the 4th floor and the ice machine didn’t work. The roof top bar has been closed about a year we were told by staff. The elevator barely fits 4 people and their luggage it’s so small. And parking is not $25 with in and out privileges. I was told if you pay the hotel directly you can have those privileges. It’s $13-$25 every time you go in AND come out. The parking lot is around the corner from the hotel. I suggest downloading the parking app and pay that way. It’s cheaper. It’s $40 without it. The employees parking in the loading zone made it very difficult to unload our bags because who about to walk a whole block with luggage. Breakfast wasn’t just $10, it was more and I prepaid for mine when I booked and didn’t eat. The staff ware nice and friendly but I felt mislead by the advertising of the hotel. I’ll only book again if it’s the last resort.

Walk to the Gateway Arch/Riverfront, walk to Kiener Plaza, walk to City Garden, walk to the ballpark, walk to Convention Center, and if you’re sporty and in shape you can take the mild walk to Enterprise Center. Although the staff were all very nice, the rooms and hotel were very run down. There wasn’t an operating restaurant or bar anymore just snacks for purchase. Which is very misleading on the photos. The icing on the cake was the bed bugs in my son’s bed. The next day he had bites on his forearms, wrists and hands. We will not be staying here again.

I’ve stayed at this hotel 4-5 years ago and then it was a decent hotel for the price and the location was nice, close to everything. SINCE 2020, the hotel still does not have an operating bar or food area. The hotel itself has went extremely downhill in those last few years. The parking garage they recommend is not $25 a night anymore, but $35. The cleanliness of the place has also extremely declined. The location around the hotel has also become more sketchy, while unloading my luggage I had a group of people come by and try to take my luggage while my back was turned. We were originally supposed to stay 2 nights at this establishment…..ONE night in the room & I was covered in BED BUG BITES. I woke up to find bed bugs in the bed with me. This was by far the worst experience of my life staying somewhere… they did refund me for my entire stay…. which they rightly should…the staff acted as though this was a regular occurrence. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, ever! Now I cross my fingers I didn’t bring these nasty bugs back with me and my family.

Hotel is convenient to Busch Stadium which was why we were there. Rooms were small but clean. Beds were comfortable.

The hotel locks the doors at 11:00 and turns the lobby lights off. Nobody told us this. When we returned at 11:30 from Ball park village, we were locked out. Hotel keys did not work. The “buzzer” did not work. We had children with us so it was a little frightening to think we were locked out. Finally someone came down in the elevators and let us in. I appreciate the doors being locked but we had no options to get in besides waiting and hoping someone would come downstairs and see us. I also called but nobody answered.

The elevators are also extremely small. No fridge or microwave in rooms. Only 2 pillows to a bed and a/c would not adjust. Very small showers. The bathroom door is a slider and would get stuck every time you closed it all the way for privacy. Someone on the outside had to help open it every time.

I made the reservation online then emailed hotel to add my husband’s name to reservation and when he got here, the employee didn’t want to give him the room. I flew in late to St Louis but I wanted him to hang out in the room while I was flying in to St Louis. After my husband showed the employee his license and credit card that I used, the employee finally checked him in and the rest of the stay was nice.

Check-in experience was a 10/10 thanks to the kind, jovial personality of Rashana (sp?) to me and the two guests ahead of me who she helped. We had a wonderful conversation + she gave me her local restaurant recommendations. The lobby has charming/historic decor to match the structure. The elevators worked fine during my 3-night stay. Ice machines are on even floors, and the microwave is on the 2nd floor. If your room number ends in 1 like mine did, your door will be just a few steps away from the elevator, so it can be noisy. About the room: The walls (doors?) are pretty thin, so if you have noisy neighbors you’ll hear them. You’ll also hear the plumbing in the walls as your neighbors use the sink/shower/toilet. Didn’t bother me, just a heads up. The room was clean and nicely arranged. I liked the bay windows which brought in plenty of light. I checked for bed bugs and saw no signs, but I sprayed everything with Lysol anyway. I didn’t love that the headboard was fabric for that bug risk. The room size is similar to a studio apartment (minus a kitchen of course). The luggage holder, desk/chair, iron, + Keurig were useful/nice to have. The bathroom had plenty of towels + was clean aside from a few pink spots in the corners of the shower where water tends to pool. The shower was small + the doors close toward each other with a small gap, so you’re likely to get the floor wet. The shower head height was above me (5’2”), even after adjusting it down, so a bit of a struggle.

Good location and great staff but overall I wouldn't stay again. The rooms are pretty small and tight. The shower was a nightmare. The shower head is way too powerful for the tiny shower. And the shower doors dont keep the water in so every shower caused our floor to flood. Food wasnt available and the front entry gets very crowed and packed. The bar was nice and the bartender was amazing. Parking was a bit confusing too, so research before arriving. For the price I could have stayed at a more enjoyable hotel.

We were in St. Louis for a concert and stayed at this location with other friends. Check-in was a terrible experience. The hotel was sold out, only one desk person working, and the rooms were not available at the 3pm check-in time. We were sent to wait in a bar/restaurant area for the rooms. As the rooms finally became available, they were given to those waiting in line, and not those who were waiting in the bar/restaurant. The front desk person sure couldve used some help with this fiasco-but she handled the stress and frustration well.

The property is nice because it is within walking distance of the arch and Busch stadium. There's also a bar and dining area in the vicinity which is really good. The rooms themselves are tiny, they do not have a fridge or safe. If you are one that can sleep with city sounds then this place is for you. There are a lot of traffic noises even at night people revving engines and it echoes off the buildings downtown. There are a lot of what look like abandoned buildings in the vicinity which brings into question safety, however I did not have any issues during my stay.

This is an old trendy hotel. It has some neat decor and features and is clean. That's where it ends. We waited hour and 20 min for our room to be ready after arrival. 2 hours after the promised 3 pm check in. 7 other couples also waited. No comp was offered. No restaurant or bar was functioning as described and the nearby suggested restaurants for breakfast was also closed. The room is small and only big enough for bed and desk. Shower only big enough for 1 person. Dusty behind some furniture. Again decor is great but no room to move. Will not be staying again.

Parking is a block away! The garage is poorly marked (you would think that the street level was 1 but no, it’s level 3) zero direction which could be dangerous at night.

They put a hold on my credit card, which was fine. I knew there would be one. When we finally got to the room that night, my husband noticed that it looked like urine stains on the bedding and asked for a different room when they have been cleaned and they were booked solid and didn’t have any room so we asked for them to change our bedding. We left our hotel for two hours to come back and it had not been changed, also we had set the thermostat to 65° hoping to cool the room down because it was extremely hot only for it to be Stuck at 76°! We went downstairs and after about 25 minutes of waiting finally got to talk to the receptionist, and she was super nice! After being informed, they had no other rooms and no way to fix our problems. We just checked out and asked for a refund the next day after we got home, I called and talked to the manager, who was kind of rude, but, she said that they were sending the refund back to Hotels.com And that I should be getting it back from them however instead of the hold being reversed, I was charging additional room fee! Mind you I paid for my room in advance a month before! So a room I did not even stay and was still charged feesThe hotel was nice enough looking great location just not very clean!

First of all, although Lisa and the other nice lady was very sweet and accommodating. Management is awful like a 0/100. We were moved 3 times to different rooms. TVs and phones did not work. No maintenance, air wasn’t working, toilet was clogged, showers leaked. They charged my card for 5 separate transactions once upon arrival and several during the stay AND after leaving. No one was told we had to pay for parking in the garage, it was never an option to opt out. We were just handed a parking card that’s $25 a night. Also believe the building is haunted…

It was hip and interesting. The staff was friendly and helpful. Quick walk to the arch and the ballpark. Plus, it smells amazing in there.

Terrible Management

They overbooked, blamed it on Hotels.com, didn't let us know until 9pm...

One person at desk helping while 10 ppl were in line.

Other worker at the desk was \"training\" and doing her nails while eating a bag of potato chips.

Terrible experience.

*Long Review* First red flag was during check, it took 15 minutes just for us to get checked in. Idk if it was because we booked through expedia or user error but someone else who came in after be what checked in before me by someone else. After we finally got checked in, we got to our room to see we got a double bed. Mind you I had called prior to ensure we would have a King. When I called down to see why we did not get the King I was told that the other rooms were “out of order”. We had another party staying at the same hotel as us and they were put in a king mind you I not only booked before them but I checked in before them as well. I then called back down there which turned into me having to take a trip down there (because nobody was answering) to see why I was not accommodated when it came to the room versus the person coming in after me. After a couple excuses that didn’t make sense and I made sure to call them out on I was then told it was their mistake BUT the other rooms were dirty & the housekeepers were being sent home due to the tornado watch. I was then given a “free breakfast” card for the inconvenience lol. after getting back to the room they called and said they did have a king & told us to bring our things down so they can switch us. Once we got to the new room there was a puddle from a window leak and the phone did not work. There was nothing they could do & said the manager would talk to us in the morning but they never came. Thankfully it was one night.

Quick St. Louis Couples trip

The Hotel was a cozy well maintained older hotel with great amenities, the location was great, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Will definitely have to stay there on our next trip.

Not able to review. The hotel canceled on us.

The hotel called us around 5pm and canceled our reservation. They sent us a cancelation email and said the money was reimbursed but it still came out of my account. We ended up going home instead of booking another room so late in the day. We had not made it to the hotel yet to check in even. They said they was overbooked.

Great One Night Stay

We stayed for one night since we were driving through St Louis. The hotel staff were very friendly and easy to talk to. The room was clean and comfortable.

When we arrived to check in the front fest charged us $75 deposit that would be refunded when we checked out. The next morning there was an additional $137.00 charge. We were told it was for parking, but we didn’t park a car at the hotel. They said it would also be refunded when we checked out. So the hotel tied up over $200 - when you are traveling on a budget, that is a really big deal. We checked out 4 days ago and are still waiting for both charges to be refunded. The front desk folks were really nice and did their best to help us, but they didn’t seem to have any idea what the additional charges were about or how to help us.

The Hotel Indigo is fantastic, and we would definitely stay there again. When I booked through Expedia, however, I was given the option to purchase parking for $17, which I did. I received an email with instructions for parking, which we followed. When we tried to leave the parking garage the next day, we were informed that the garage didn’t have an arrangement with Hotel Indigo, and we had to pay $40 to be able to leave. The manager on duty at the hotel told us that it’s not possible to pay for parking through Expedia. The whole situation was very frustrating and delayed our departure by over 30 minutes.

Fun and comfortable for a couple!

I was a little afraid of some of the reviews about it being a dirty, old hotel. However, I think that they have really turned things around whether that be new management or new cleaning procedures. Some of the negative reviews also just highlighted things that are only because the place is older! Overall the service was wonderful, the lobby smelled wonderful and clean and the layout and decor was fun and not like other places!

Website advertises rooftop bar and restaurant but they aren’t open. Rooms are VERY small but it’s clean. Lots of interesting street walkers around

I read the book “Unreasonable Hospitality” last year and feel this group could write their own book about how it is done. Everyone from the general manager to the breakfast wait staff has absolutely knocked the cover off the ball. My firm’s headquarters are in St Louis and this will definitely be my go to spot.

The staff was friendly, the bar was closed because the bar tender didn’t show up. I had to pay an additional $75 for incidental but my car was already charged $240 but the receipt shows it was only $195 so where did the rest of my money go?!? When you shower the water goes everywhere, no fridge in the room parking was blocks away and the cleanliness was non existent. Next time I’ll stay at a motel 6…
