When we got into our room we found the following issues: 1. Room smeeled like an ash tray, 2. Stains and paint peeling off the walls, 3. Stains on the bed spreads, 4. Poor repairs to the damaged walls and bathroom door, 5. We got 2 wash and hand towels and only 1 shower towel for 3 people, 6. The location is in a poor area of town.

They were okay with pets but charged an additional deposit for dog 2. The room was very dirty, smelled strongly of stale cigarettes, and there was a leak in the bathroom ceiling that was leaking pretty badly, onto the floor and into the light fixture. The tub was filthy and the floors were extremely dirty to the point that we would not take our shoes off. There were many, various characters hanging out in the parking lot, smoking all number of things. The bathroom door would not shut as it was swollen from the humidity caused by the leak. We pulled the bedside table out to reach an outlet and found an earing, clumps of dirt and fur, a cigarette butt, cigarette wrappers, and a dirty fork. The price for the room should be much, much lower. We left the room in better condition than we found it as we don’t smoke and cleaned the floors and removed the trash found.

There was a shoe print on the sheets. The bathtub was dirty. There was approximately a 3/8 inch gap between the door and the door frame to the outside which was letting in quite a bit of cold air. We were unable to increase the room temperature The room we were given looked nothing like the pictures on Expedia. We will not stay in a Red Roof Inn in the future.

Door lock was broken, room was smaller than the picture made it look, iron and ironing board missing, bathroom light barely worked, cigarette burns on the sheets. We ended up not staying and returned the key a few hours later. Will never stay at a Red Roof again.

The room was uninhabitable. There was a used condom and broken glass outside the door, the curtains falling off the window such it wouldn’t close and it was a first floor room (no privacy), a smudge on the bathroom door (couldn’t tell if it was poop or blood), there was hair in the toilet, and the room smelled incredibly bad of smoke. I have pictures of all 4 thing I have listed. I am requesting a refund of the money I spent on a room that I did not stay to use.

Killed 2 roaches in my first night. The shower was so inoperable, the floors tracked so much dirt. The ceiling started dripping some type of brown liquid, and there is. No fridge or microwave in the room which makes it highly inconvenient

The room had trash and dust bunnies between the fridge and dressed. The bathroom roof leaked over the shower. There was mold in the bathroom and a roach was running around in the bathroom. The hand rail in the shower was coming out of the wall. The ceiling was peeling over the beds and the curtain would not hang on the rod.

The room was comfortable. The night staff was not very friendly, but the morning staff on check out was nicer. We missed not having a mini fridge for water and tea, but we made lemonade out of lemons. For the love of God, someone please remove the crackerjack sticker from the lamp base on the side of the bed.

I tried checking in, with my husband who had only 30 minutes before been released from hospital after having massive heart surgery. The women would NOT allow us to even check in, but they were quick to bill my card. I was able to make contact with my bank immediately, and made the clerk let my bank know they were not allowing us to check in. I was refunded my money almost instantly, only to have the motel turn around and by the time I was 30 miles away from the hotel- bill my card again. This all happened over a week ago, and my funds have still NOT been released back to me. I am disgusted by there \"service\"!

Found dirty clothes in the top dresser drawer. Had to ask front office for remote for TV. King bed room and only had accommodations for 1 person when stated would be 2 in the room. Bathroom towel not much bigger than a hand towel. Brown stains on sheets.. Walked across floor barefoot and bottom of feet turned black from dirty floor/carpet. Back of bathrrom door covered with long dark hair not from us. Paid for two nights of stay but would not return for second night because of the dirtieness. So lost money and do not recommend for future guest until they can make improvements.

Terrible experience!!!! THE WORST!

Check in was okay. When I got to the room, there was no ice bucket, no coffee maker, and I had to get down on my hands and knees to plug in all the lamps and TV. ROACHES AND SPIDERS IN THE BATHROOM AND SOME KIND OF WEIRD SNAKY LOOKING THING IN THE TOILET, THAT WOULD NEVER FLUSH DOWN.GROSS. THE SECOND NIGHT, SOMEBODY POUNDED ON MY DOOR AT ABOUT THREE A.M. And then pounded on the door next to mine, and I heard somebody say \"housekeeping.\" Weird. Then the next night, somebody tried to get into my room at 2:30 a.m. The next morning, when I got ready to leave, there was a strange guy standing in the doorway by the next room, screaming and yelling and apparently having withdrawal from drugs. Then he got down on his knees, and started slamming his fists on the concrete. Terrible experience. Worst stay I've ever had at a hotel.. I think my money should be refunded. You should take this hotel off your list. It's very sleazy and creepy.

Absolute worst experience!!!!!

When I got to the room, there was no coffee maker, no ice bucket and I had to get down on my knees and plug in all the lamps and lights. There were roaches and spiders in the bathroom and some kind a snake-looking thing in the toilet that would never flush down but kept coming back up. The second night I was there, someone pounded on my door at 2:30 in the morning. Then I heard them pound on the door next door and say\" housekeeping\". The next night, somebody tried to get into my door again. I could hear them fumbling with the door handle. I awoke the next morning to get ready to leave, and there was a man standing next to my door yelling and screaming. Then he got down on his hands and knees and pounded the concrete with his fists while screaming. I'm pretty sure he was having withdrawal from drug symptoms. Absolutely the worst stay I have ever had at hotel and I will never stay at a Red Roof Inn ever again. I really feel like I should be refunded my money.

Do Not Get Fooled by the Pics

Do not let the pics on Hotels dot com trick you!
From the dimly lit pics of the outside making it look better than it really does all the way to the lobby picture that looks nothing like the real lobby which is actually an office, and half of that was used up with what looked like a bunch of junk on tables and carts. Checking in, the staff was 100% unprofessional. We ended up paying an extra $30 to check in early for a room that looks like it gets rented out for solicitation. The ceiling looked patched up from water damage, the hardwood looked old and disgusting, the bathroom looked unkept, the toilet barely worked, the TV remote didn't work at all. The room was supposed to be wheelchair accessible but it really wasn't. There is barely room to walk, let alone use a chair. Because of the time I had avl to me I wasn't able to find a better hotel to stay for the night so slept very uncomfortably on the deluxe twin they're passing off as a queen bed. I have paid less than $175 a night for rooms that looked much better and weren't brand name hotels so this experience was so disappointing.

Rooms are not kept maintained. IE in need of repairs.
They wanted to charge me for the lack of maintenance and I complained.

Dresser has damage from wheelchairs hitting it = on front left and drawer is banged into dresser. Tower shower is extremely loose and needs to be tightened to the shower wall. I am not in a wheel chair and did not damage the room at all. They threatened to charge me for existing damage that they have not taken care to repair. It looked like it had been is this condition for a while.
Am disputing this through expedia and if necessary with BBB of St Louis.

Check in was very quick and staff super polite even when it was late check in. However, I was only refunded 1/3 of the value of my stay for my encounter of bed bugs that I discovered the next morning. I have to take thr time to sanitize all my belongings, and 1/3 is not properly compensating this situation. I booked one of the more expensive superior rooms. The floors didn’t look like they’ve mopped them in years. I have stayed at this hotel before about 3-4 times and this was the worst experience among them. Please treat for bed bugs and clean and do better because I know you can and have before!

Room smelled like smoke, they said they were booked and did not let us change rooms. They tried to freshen it, but it didn't work. We called and asked if they provide extra blankets, but when we arrived, they said they don't provide. Had to wait in parking lot for 30 minutes while they \"freshened\" the room. We ended up losing the money for the second night and stayed elsewhere. We paid to NOT have to stay there a second night.

It was very close to the Zoo, which was nice. Room had no remote for the TV. Took forever to get the remote. We paid extra for the snack box and that was a joke. Not worth the extra. We , two people, received one bottle of water, one snack size bag of popcorn, one mini pack of crackers, one snack bag of plain chips and one granola bar. Not what we were expecting for the price paid. Air conditioner didn’t work properly and the room smelled of dog. The mini frig did not get cold. Not happy, would not recommend or stay again.

We had no cancellation on short time before booking so are out $170 because we would not EVER stay in such a scuzzy, dangerous place. There were loud men out drinking in the parking lot and men hanging out on the walkways outside the rooms. We arrived late(8:00) after a 11 hour drive. I would love to get my money back, but I did agree to the terms. I will think twice about using Hotels.com if this is on your list!

The room was clean when we arrived, and the price was great. However, I made our reservation for a family of 4, and they only left 2 towels in our room. When my husband asked for more, they told him that we needed to bring our dirty towels to the office to get more. After explaining that we had 4 people, they finally gave him some more, but we shouldn’t have had to go begging for more. They did not come in and clean or refresh anything during our stay.

The hotel WiFi was not secure, which was a concern to my husband. And the sign at the desk says they are not responsible if anything goes missing inside or outside of your room, which just raised red flags for me.

Like I said, the price was nice, but I will likely find a different hotel the next time we travel to St. Louis!

You won't be pleasantly surprised

This hotel is probably exactly what you expect it to be. It's an older, almost \"motel\" style hotel. While fairly clean, there were certainly stains and dusty corners. The floors were a bit sticky. It's not the worse place I've stayed, and it's what I expected for the cost. But don't book based on the reviews saying it's \"great,\" etc., hoping you'll find the room is much better than expected.
