This property is basically completely torn apart for remodel… a detail not disclosed by Expedia during my booking. The entire common area is unusable. Paying for a night in a hotel that literally makes you scared for your safety is insane. On top of that, at 6am the fire alarm starts blaring and you don’t know if construction people started a fire or someone burnt their toast. Very very disappointed with this stay.

The staff was wonderful! The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because there was some renovations being done in the lobby and the whole 1st floor . I have asthma and it irritated my lungs. The people check in were very apologetic and very kind . The room was spacious and clean ! The view was beautiful!

The construction was not minor and horribly noisy. Then we ended up with a teenage girl birthday party across the hall where the girls ran screaming up and down the halls randomly knocking on doors. The desk called the parents and NOTHING. Offered to move us....but only had rooms on the 3rd floor where we were. Put up with that until after 11. Got a sorry as we checked out. Then had to walk to the car on sheet ice they had not even treated. NEVER staying there again!°

I always appreciate a swimming pool and this one was big enough for me to swim circles to get my exercise daily. The jets on the hot tub did not work, a small disappointment. The breakfast is always a nice thing with several hours to get down there. The breakfast attendant was cheerful and attentive. It is right across the bluff so we could see the lake and walk across Lake Shore Drive to see the water, waves and sunset.

Quiet, by the lake. Private, yet immediate, very easy access to picturesque traveling to neighboring towns north or south to enjoying the activities and beauty. Very clean rooms & public areas. Spotless breakfast room. Pool looked great, but didn't use it. Wished TV had more options and easier to use. Highly recommend this hotel! LOVED that had lots of pillows, and a variety of firmness/softness. Thank you for a lovely stay!

My family and I stayed almost one night. The room was large but very dingy, smelled like a mix of smoke, dog and mold. We could not stay even the full night and left as soon as we could at 4am. Felt like we spent our money for nothing.

The bed was comfy but when we opened the slider to our lakeview room balconey we discovered how busy the highway is and it's noisy. There were what looked like donut sprinkles still on the carpet in front of the rooms desk but the room was clean besides that. They did let us check in a few hours early which was very nice as the weather went south and rained all afternoon. If you don't mind the traffic noise it's a great view.

There are better options in the area than here. For over $200 for one night, you would expect better food and a clean room.
Our beds had left over hair from previous guests, what appeared to be make up marks, dirt, food whatever on the sheets. I don’t believe they changed the sheets at all. The bathroom was filthy. There was hair ALL over, the shower, sink, floors.
The mini fridge did not work at all. The elevator sounds like it’s going to fall apart as you take it. If i could leave zero stars i would.
The food was bare minimum, and served on paper plates. Not eco friendly at all.

You dont get what you paid for.

Booked a suite for a family weekend. What room i booked online was not the room we received. There was supposed to be 2 queens and a bedroom with a king. Instead we got a king and queen bed in the main room and a pull out couch in the bedroom. I called the front desk to complain and was told they gave us the room we booked and didnt offer any explanation why it didnt match what i reserved. She just said a pull out couch was a bed. Um...not when it was supposed to be a king size bed. Plus the room was not as pictured as well. Dirty, torn carpet, bathroom tub was chipped and stained. Furniture cracked and living room furnishings were stained. \"Courtyard\" was messy. Our \"courtyard \" view was not much to look at. Apartment complex next door was noisy at night and we witnessed people enter the hotel gate by the pool from apartment complex. Breakfast was the same every morning and not as pictured. Stop posting pics of your hotel from a newly built one. It should be labeled as false advertisement. You definitely dont get what you pay for. Will not be back

Room was in the process of being updated. Bathroom had several issues - broken tile on floor, glass shower door did not shut properly allowing shower water to wet floor, shower wall was broken & someone tried fix (poorly). Door to room was very stuck & finally had to put some shoulder into it to get it open. Got stuck twice in the bathroom when the door would not open. Breakfast bar layout is poor and needs revamped. The luggage carts are very rickety & parts are broke off of it. We wondered if it was going to hold our luggage. They are in the process of renovating but the place needs help right away.

The hotel is just far enough outside the hustle and bustle of St Joseph. It has a restaurant right next door with amazing views of Lake Michigan from the outside deck. I would have given another star for conditions of the facility and even cleanliness but it’s hard to tell as there is some remodeling going on. So I gave three stars just for my stay. The room was nice and clean so the room gets 4 stars. I would not be afraid to stay again.

We had a room that was spacious and had been recently renovated with the exception of the doors which were very worn and felt shabby despite new improvements elsewhere. Housekeeping is on request, but they don’t tell you that when you check in. For $300/night, I expected better than that.

This place was pretty decent and normal overall but I had tile in my room and it was so dirty the bottom of a brand new pair of white socks turned black walking on it. We asked them to clean the floors, which they did, but even wiping up the water after a shower the towel was nasty and covered in dirt. I had two babies with me. Nasty floors is the last thing you want your babies crawling around on. Also, there was chunks of toilet paper splatted on the wall and bathroom door

Owner/manager was pretty rude. I opted to pay at the property and he started charging my card 2 days before (I was denying the charge because I didn’t want to be charged twice) then called me the day of check-in to tell me I had 30 minutes to pay before they gave my reservation away (this was at 12:30 and check-in is at 4) I once again reminded him that I opted to pay at the hotel at check-in. He eventually let me pay at the property as I had requested.

Breakfast was ok at best. Decent variety of foods but the “cooked” food tasted like trash.

They also are doing construction. I assume to remodel the inside. While my room was fine there were a lot of boxes and tiles scattered around the hotel. The elevator was scary to the point of not trusting it.. it started moving before the doors were shut.

Location is better than other Stevensville hotels. But I have had MUCH better experiences at the other hotels and paid considerably less. Overall I would suggest a different hotel unless the extra 4 mile drive means a lot to you

We always try to stay in a Holiday Inn Express, as we feel they provide a great value for the money spent. This location was mediocre. My husband and kids always enjoy the hot breakfast, but everything else left something to be desired. The pool wasn't clean, there was a film on the water when it's not in use, and did not make me want to allow my children to use it. We checked in on a Monday, and I had to ask on Thursday to have the room serviced, as housekeeping had not been in at all. Daily, we had to ask for towels (one day I was even told I could not have 1 towel for each person in my room, I could only have 2 as they did not have enough), and we had to put our trash outside of our room each morning and ask for new trash can liners. Overall, we were happy with the location and our stay, but I was disappointed in the care that the staff put into taking care of their guests. It certainly didn't feel like the value for our dollar that we typically get when staying at a Holiday Inn Express.

Floors were dirty, ceiling fan covered in dust, vent above jetted tub had dust hanging off of it which fell on the tile behind the jetted tub, jetted tub had pubes in it and the tile on the floor had a big sticky spot. Mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, in the shower and on the curtains. Cob webs on the ceiling. Microwave and fridge not cleaned. Bed skirt had rips on it and the couch had stains. Ants on the tile and gnats in the bathroom. Disgusting and no refund.

The pool and hot tub are a highly used area in any hotel. The bottom of pool had algae or what appeared to be green slime in it. The hot tub had mold algae above water line. I get the remodel going on but not the pool/hot tub! Gross!

Although we only stayed for one night, the sunset alone was worth it. I am so glad that I chose to book a room on the lake view side. We were able to watch the sun set over the lake. We were also able to sit out on the balcony and enjoyed the beautiful weather. If you're not able to book one of the lake view rooms, there are 2 look out points just a block or so down the street. Out one night stay was wonderful. The only negative thing I would have to say is that I wish we could turn the balcony light off at night to get a better unhindered view of the lake.

Everything was great and could tell it was just remodeled. Very clean and staff was great and attentive. We had the lakeview room with a nice patio we enjoyed overlooking the lake. Only downside was parking is pretty far in the back and the handicap spots were also far in the back not near any entrance after the electric vehicle & club member spots. Breakfast was nice they had a pancake machine vs waffle maker i hadnt seen that before. Also warm cinnamon rolls were delish. Will stay there again.
