The hotel is very clean, the staff is friendly and helpful. The parking was easy, but I suspect that is because of the time of year (off season), the parking lot seems small for the amount of rooms. The breakfast was decent and had good options, be aware that there is no hot food served. Mainly bagles, toast cereal, fruit and various breakfast drinks like juice and coffee. The condition of the hotel showed a bit of ware and tear. Our shower door kept coming off the track and the kind man at the front dest gave us another room. It does look like they are working on updates as one of the larger event rooms was filled with contractor materials. The location was fantastic, close to shops, restaurants and a quick walk to the beach. Over all my kids and I were very happy and would stay again!

They seem to be remodeling and making improvements. The room was great, our refrigerator went out and they had it replaced within 10 minutes of calling. Beautiful view, staff friendly, and most importantly centrally located to restaurants, dining, and beach. Would stay here again

Although recently reported as renovated, the work to do so was quite poor in my opinion. My TV only worked every 10 minutes and was quite old. Bathroom mirror light did not work, no bath fan. The room furnishings were outdated. My door to the hall did not fit the opening very well and you could see through to the hallway from the room. Very unpleasant odors from time to time. On the other hand the location is very good, staff was nice, breakfast was decent, and the price was reasonable. Such a shame because the area is great and the opportunity for this hotel thrive is very good. Not sure I would stay there again.

The person at the sdesk was friendly and gave me what I thought was a nice room at the end of the hall with a view of the lake. It's cool that there's a balcony you can go out on, but there were no screens so you couldn't really leave the door open for fresh air.

I sat down and turned on the TV and all I got was static. I was able to use my ipad for watching a show so I didn’t call for service. I really didn’t want anyone in my room in the evening. When I went to take a shower, ai couldn't get any hot water. It didn’t even get warm, just not ice cold after running thw water and testing the adjustments for more than 10 minutes.

The back hallway to the back big parking lot was kind of creepy. Also, the lock for that door at night is like a chain lock, so if you were out after they lock the door, you would have to go around the building to the front entrance.

Room was dirty. Floors made my socks filthy, long hair strands in the shower. Took a good five minutes for the water to warm up. Very few people there and late in the evening someone was put into the connecting room next to ours with a small yapping dog. There were plenty of rooms to offer more separation and quiet. Hotels.com did not have information that the pool was under renovation and not available. Continental breakfast was lacking.

Big gaps between floor and door to the room. Walked into the room with the air blasting 75 which isn’t very pleasant as the room was kind of wet feeling. Clean otherwise and the balcony was nice. Breakfast was super basic. Not my favorite stay but on a last minute trip it worked. The view was nice also!

We had a pleasant stay at the Silver Beach Hotel. We understood going in that the hotel has experienced some damage in the past and is in the process of being restored to higher standards, and our expectations were set accordingly.

The location is excellent and truly one of the highlights. Our room was simple but clean, which we appreciated. We especially loved that there was no carpet in the room — a big plus. The beds were neat, clean, and comfortable, making for a good night’s rest.

The staff was kind, respectful, and welcoming throughout our stay. One area for improvement would be being a bit more informed about local events and what’s happening around town, which would be helpful for guests.

We did experience some issues with the TV and internet, but overall it did not take away from our experience. With continued updates and improvements, this hotel has great potential, and we would consider staying again.

Room was not well maintained. Bathroom doors were coming off their hinges and wouldn’t lock. Gym was run down to the point of being unusable. Treadmill was broken and the elliptical needed a tuneup. We went during the off season so weren’t expecting much but did expect amenities to all work.

The lake view was nice and the lady at the front desk was very nice also. Upon checkin, the room given to us was not cleaned. The bed sheets and comforter were ripped off the bed. Clean, folded sheets were left on the bed, not put on. Bathroom was dirty with pee stain on the toilet seat and hairs on the toilet and in the sink. We immediately went down to the desk and we were given a clean room immediately. This room was much better and actually clean. The downfall, the toilet didn’t flush in that room.

The hotel appeared to be very rundown compared to the pictures on their website.

Cleanliness- decent, but our stay was 2 days and our room was not refreshed (clean towels, empty trash, make up bed, etc). Things appeared clean on the surface, but definitely don't look behind the toilet.

It snowed the day we left. While the parking lot had been plowed, the steps from the hotel to the parking lot had not been touched and were sheets of ice. I'm not sure how we didn't fall. Salting is a minimum expectation when there's snow and ice.

I was disappointed with the \"renovations\" that was supposed to have been completed. The pool and hot tub were not available. The bar was not open. The carpet in our room was pretty dirty. The bed was hard and a couple of spots I could feel the springs. I am not sure what was renovated. The hotel is nice enough, I was expecting more -we used to stay there every summer and it just didn't seem to have any renovations.

We decided to stay at this hotel because of the convenient location to where our daughter lives and it was easy to walk to downtown to go shopping and dining. We liked the fact that it had recently been renovated but there were a few issues that need to be addressed. First the shower pan in our room was not properly sealed and as a result the water consistently leaked all over the bathroom floor when taking a shower. In addition, the window was also not completely sealed and there was a slight breeze coming from it. On the positive side, check-in went smoothly and the front desk person was very nice and friendly. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We also had a nice view of Lake Michigan, however the people staying in the room next to ours were arguing late into the night and us from getting a good night sleep the two nights we were there. We would stay here again.

Lower part of the hotel looks like a storage unit. We should have gotten pictures of that as well. Our first room had no hot water. After moving to our second room, the bathroom mirror was dirty and there were stains all over the carpet. We are not sure what the stains were. We are hoping that they reimburse us without trouble. They would not give us a receipt but told us we would get our money back in 3-5 days.

Although we loved the size of the room, we did feel like the entire room could have been cleaned better. Crumbs under the table, bathroom floor was black when I wiped up some water, toilet seat was up when we entered room (that I thought was odd), no blow dryer available, \"smart\" mirror didn't work. Overall, updating was needed in not only room, but hotel in general. The furniture in the room was in good condition! Loved the convenience of the hotel location!

Will begin with the check-in process was very slow. The front desk ladies English was very broken, which makes it very difficult to communicate. Second is there is a fight on the seventh floor with a couple and pretty much woke up everybody on the second floor and kept us awake for several hours. Called the front desk. Nothing was done obviously because there was no security. You would’ve thought they would’ve called 911 but that didn’t happen either then it sleep well. Went down in the morning to talk to the receptionist to get a credit on my room and they were nowhere to be found. I just walked out and was over it because I had to get on with my day. The breakfast was frozen breakfast sandwiches and old muffins wrapped up in sandwich bags like they went and bought in bulk. Just not a typical continental breakfast at most hotels that provide free breakfast definitely subpar room was OK. The floor was filthy bathroom doable. TV reception and quality absolutely horrible just overall I would give this a two star hotel at Best. I would’ve preferred to pay more money, but it was the hotel that was nearby.
If you’re wanting a super cheap stay and you really don’t care about customer service and quality and you’re on a budget below $100 than this will work if you just need to lay your head.

I assume the hotel is under newer ownership. The pool was drained. It took about 30 minutes to check in as they only had one staff member. (She was fantastic even dealing with a very long line for chrck in) the rooms were clean enough, they were having issues with the elevators and informed people they could use the stairs.... its a 7 story hotel. It was cost effective.

The pool was under construction. Property was very dated and dingy. My toilet, I believe, was filled with rust stains (looked filthy). The property looked very old and was in desperate need of a facelift. The wall paint was chipped. It felt more like a motel than a hotel. I was charged more for my room (not sure why) but the price tag did not match the product.

Friendly staff, very nice people. Great location in walking distance to shops and beach. Hotel seems to be in a transition state. Some things were fancy and new, some things were well worn, needing paint or just replaced. Our room carpet definitely needed a good deep cleaning. Breakfast was very minimal only cereal and toast options. Dining room needs updating. Housekeeping only did a towel change on our room no bed making or cleaning, not sure if I had read what their daily upkeep routine was so not sure if this was normal.

This is a Great place to stay. It's Clean and the staff is courteous. It's reasonably close (walkable) to most things you'd like to do.

Our room was very nice with a good view of the lake.

My only down grade comes from the age of the building,. It shows it's age here and there, but nothing that I would consider a deal breaker.

It was a good room at a good price, so in the end, what more can you ask for?

I really like the hotel, however my stay was very disappointing. I used Expedia points to book the hotel, and upon arrival I was asked for a credit card for accidentals. Well the staff member charged me on my personal credit card for the night stay (although it was prepaid)... its been over 2 months and they are refusing to issue a refund. I would not recommend this hotel.

The internet description was very deceiving. We spend a lot of time looking before deciding on this one. Pictures made It sound and look good. Said there was an indoor pool. Well, there was a hole where the pool was supposed to be. Room was not clean. You walked across the floor barefoot, and your feet got black. Mirror on bathroom door was cracked all the way across it. The mirror above the sink had a crack starting at the bottom. I took pictures down to the desk to show them so we didn't get charged for it and they just said, \"oh Ok\". The bottom of the bathroom door inside the bathroom was all broke and falling apart. The one bed the mattress was completely broken down especially in the middle. It was very soft and you couldn't help but roll to the middle all night. It completely sank in the middle. So needless to say we did not get a good night's sleep. The other bed was not as bad but was really soft. The breakfast room was dirty. The windows in there were filthy. There were 4 soda machines with nothing in them taking up space and they were filthy. Outside window were filthy. If we could have found another place to stay we would have moved. Would not recommend it. Definitely not worth $200 a night!
