The hotel came in clutch when our power went out right before the holidays. The staff was friendly and welcoming. They even hosted a Thanksgiving happy hour when we arrived, which was a really nice touch—I’m sure the other guests traveling appreciated it too. Breakfast was great every morning. My only issue was the pool area: the hallway leading to it was freezing, so going from that straight into a cold pool was rough. Other than that, we had a great stay and my family had a wonderful time.

The property is newer and fairly decent for the price. The location is good. The staff was not attentive. I asked for a few things for the room and was met without help. There was trash in our floor for 3 days out in the hallway by a few different rooms and no one ever came to remove it.

The front desk staff were very helpful throughout our stay! They helped us create an IHG membership so we have extra perks for future stays, like early check in and late check out. The facility and room was very clean and the continental breakfast had a ton of options, including to-go food if you needed to hit the road right away. Highly recommend!!

It's a fine hotel for the cost, but they were clearly understaffed. The breakfast room had garbage piling up so badly it was gross, they didn't respond to requests and now I can't even get anybody to answer the phone to get a shirt I left there sent to me.

There are two very similar hotels right next to them. I will try those next time to see if they have better service

Such a disappointment. Told staff the air conditioning wasn’t working. Staff said there’s nothing he could do after calling his manager. Told the manager the next morning about the situation and she said he never called her. After the manager found out about the situation, she didn’t do anything to help. So our family of 4 just continued boil in the room after 3 attempts of asking for help. The morning after we even saw some beg bugs on the bed. 😒 Our family always stayed there when we visited Benton Harbor but never again!

The room and property is beautiful also it’s really close to a lot of restaurants and very close to st Joesph’s. I love that all the rooms have a full size fridge and a kitchenette which was a life saver for those who have kids. My only complaint was on the day we checked in as soon as I went into our room I saw that the sheets had dirt all over the comforter so when I told the lady at the front desk about she made it seem like there was nothing she can do when i asked politely about getting clean sheets as I just literally checked in 5 minutes earlier with her and she responded that they don’t have any clean sheets and was kind of no help at all luckily the head of housekeeping Ericka made it all right by giving us clean sheets and she was very helpful and nice to me and my family. I would definitely recommend stay bridge in Benton Harbor.

It seemed clean, but that is the only positive

This was a seriously disappointing stay. I have no idea how this hotel has such a high rating. They were out of everything for our entire stay.
At check in:
The room was clean but not refilled. There was no shampoo, body wash or conditioner. No hand soap or toilet paper. There were only 2 towels.
The pull out bed was advertised as a queen and it was a single. There were no pillows, blankets or linens for the pull out bed. I called the front desk to ask for these items and they said they would bring some by. 5 hours later we had to go to the desk and get them ourselves. Then the front desk representative was arguing with us about how many linens we needed.
Breakfast every day was a disaster. They were out of milk, coffee creamer, regular sized plates, and forks. The food was not refilled and we were just told they were out.
Some of the employees were very nice, others were not. I feel bad for those employees who are trying because clearly they are understaffed and this hotel is suffering from terrible management. There are plenty of other hotels in this area. I would recommend staying elsewhere and I would not consider being a return guest .

Had to ask 3 times for some to be provided, the 3rd time asking we had to find a maintenance man to get someone to the front desk because it was unattended. Stayed 3 nights and no housekeeping. For the cost of the room and what was provided it was extremely overpriced. Based on other hotels in the area I wouldn’t recommend this one.

The room was decent. The bed was not well made and there was hair on the floor in the bathroom. However, my biggest complaint was that there was no ironing board. When I called, the desk said they would locate one and send up...didn't come. As I left out that evening, I asked again. I was told that they are first come-first served...and he would try and find me one....no board. The next morning a manager was at the front, I explained my request, told her wha the other person said. She replied \"oh he's kind of new\" and assured me they would have one put in my room before my return.....no ironing board. I then had to ask one more time with a bit of an attitude because I had to perform and needed to iron, They took one of another room and got me one. Upon ironing my clothes, of course with the cheaper version of the iron that could be bought, the iron left residue all over my white shirt. I even tried to clean it but couldn't. Why doesn't every room have an ironing board? Why did I have to ask 4 times. Why don't they inventory the condition of the amenities provided? When I return to Benton Harbor I will make sure to NOT stay at this hotel.

It was awful. From check in to out. When we got there the room was not as described. They did move us to a different room but after they wanted more money (even tho we paid $222/night and their rate was $189) we forgot our tablet in room 1 to which we were told multiple times they checked but via our tracker knew it was still in there. They finally agreed to let me look and it was exactly where I told them I left it. Our second room, the fridge went out overnight and they made us move rooms instead of just switching fridges. On night 3 power went out (happens I guess) but fire dept had to be called to get people off the elevator which scared my kid. Last night our power went out in half the room and all the front desk said was “ good thing you don’t need lights to sleep. Just close your eyes.” Room wasn’t cleaned at all and had to ask for more towels but didn’t get them because they forgot to put some in the dryer. Not to mention the town in general did not feel safe at all.

The room was nice & clean. The price was great for basically 2 rooms in 1. We had the suite with 2 seperate bedrooms. The check in & check out was very friendly & professional. The only complaints I have is that we could not find an ice machine on any floor. Also some family on the floor above us let their children run the hallways until midnight, and then again the next morning around 8 until checkout time.

Squeaky bed really annoyed me, we needed a good nights sleep for a funeral the next morning. During check out the associate didn’t even ask how the stay was average as for customer service. . I asked the associate what the cost of room was and for a receipt and she wouldn’t tell me the total but said she could see it. She stated I’ll get receipt from whoever I booked with. Check in associate was very polite. As for breakfast the associate was very kind and stated they were out of food items which sucked but we ate the little bit that was there.

I was a bit skeptical when I booked this hotel based on the past reviews, but we had a great stay. Our room was clean as you would expect, plenty of towels and sheets for the pull out bed. Breakfast was served in the morning, nothing fancy but it did the job. The only complaint I have is about the garbage cans outside the front of the hotel - they were overflowing and the trash needed to be taken out. Hotel seemed to be understaffed but overall stay was good. Would definitely stay here again.

We like the Staybridge Hotels so we’re excited to see one convenient to our trip. This one is right off the highway, located in the middle of many other hotels and restaurants. It seems to be showing its age. The check-in staff was not particularly friendly and they fire alarm box in the lobby was going off our entire stay (check-in clerk dismissed it as unimportant). The room was comfortable but not as clean/maintained as other Staybridge locations we’ve stayed at. Breakfast was a typical no-frills experience.

We did not have any toilet paper in our room and discovered this at an inopportune time. The shower gels/supplies were empty but there was a partial bottle of shower gel in the shower ledge. The top shower bar grip was loose and would have been disastrous if someone fell and grabbed this as it would have pulled from the wall. It took us 1 day to realize our room's air conditioning was on 60! No wonder we were cold! There was no coffee in our room but we did have tea bags. When we first went to our room the door was ajar and this is very disorienting! Was someone in there? That is a first..walking into a room where the door was open.This was a Fall Break family getaway. My daughter's room had a pink bottle full of cleaning fluid left in the bathroom and she has toddlers! The pool was not functioning and this was such a disappointment! We would have liked to know this before we left for this place. We did sleep well once we got our temperature adjusted as our room was dark and quiet. The hot breakfast was very good and plentiful!

It was a bit concerning because they knew the air conditioning didn’t work and yet still gave us the room. Eventually we we given another room. Once all this got resolved, our stay was fine.

This is hands down the WORST hotel in the entire world. Leftovers were left in the fridge, our room was downgraded due to the first room being improperly cleaned. The room we stayed in was never cleaned. When asked to have the room cleaned and requested towels we received nothing but disrespect and the cleaning staff came to the room, proceeded to throw a pile of towels at us and stated “do you want towels OR your room cleaned bc I am ready to leave for today” the towels we received were dirty and all she did to clean the room was move the sheets around on the bed. When asking for a manager I was told “they aren’t here” multiple times followed by “they manage the two hotels near here go look for them” There were bugs in various parts of the hotel. The food was ridiculously under par. The next day our room was still not cleaned. Power was lost in the room, the television did not work properly. The dishes were dirty. The fridge was dirty. The carpets were dirty. The outdoor area was no maintained at all whatsoever ever: there was no consideration of general hygiene much less NOT A SINGLE Covid precaution as far as cleanliness. We had no choice to pack up and leave early. As consistent travelers this is hands down the WORST experience either of us has shared. After calling the hotel to follow up I was told by a staff member that the manager was not in and non of these issues were her problem because they were understaffed and she was not in the mood for this. Could go on and on!

The check-in experience was not good. The lady at the check-in could not retrieve out reservation (since it was modified from the original booking date through Expedia). The modified reservation did not reach the front desk but she could not pull up the original booking either. She told us 3 times at least that this happens when you book through \"third party\" websites and how another person just before us had an issue with Expedia booking. This has never happened to us before. We gave her our confirmation number and it was instantly resolved. This unpleasant check-in experience has really go to do with the untrained staff who was not savvy at checking in guests who make reservations through Expedia. She at one point even asked us to cal Expedia to straighten this out when we were all so exhausted from our travels. She needs some training in how to do check-in and guest relations. After all this is the hospitality business.

Things I liked include:
(1) Friendly staff
(2) The suite had furniture that allowed us to have mini spaces within the suite. I liked the chair in the corner with footrest, the 2 ottomans, kitchen stocked with dishes and with dishwasher detergent, etc.
(3) Complimentary washing machines and clothes dryer
(4) Cleanliness of the suite and the building as a whole
(5) Sufficient body wash, shampoo and conditioner in the shower.
(6) Excellent breakfast choices
(7) Pet friendly hotel

It was wonderful! Friendly staff, clean. Pool was a little cool, but as long as you kept moving not terrible! Lol Beds comfy too. Very strict on partying in rooms so nice when kids in our rooms needed to rest. We reserved double large rooms, enjoyable place to meet up for holidays with all the brothers and kids.
