I am extremely disappointed with my stay. I paid $325 expecting a clean, quality room, especially after requesting a presidential suite, and this was far from that.

The first room was unacceptable, so we requested a change but the second room was no better. There were holes in the walls where you could see wires, and even a hole in the bathroom ceiling. The vents were full of visible dust, and overall cleanliness was very poor.

The bathroom was especially disappointing. The tub looked like something out of a hospital delivery room, not a suite. We specifically asked if the room had a soaking tub and were told no, yet the property’s own website shows otherwise, which was very misleading.

There were also inconsistencies between rooms the first room had a mirror, while the second did not, which made the downgrade even more frustrating. On top of that, there wasn’t even a microwave available, which is a basic amenity you would expect at this price point.

Overall, the hotel felt extremely outdated, poorly maintained, and not worth anywhere near what I paid. This was not the experience that was advertised or promised.

I am requesting a refund due to the unacceptable conditions and misleading information.

While this property shows promise, there are several significant concerns that warrant serious attention.Most critically, during our stay we experienced a safety incident in which a barn door in the bathroom became dislodged while being opened. The door nearly struck my children, and was only prevented from causing injury because I was able to catch it in time. This type of structural hazard is unacceptable & requires immediate remediation, not a temporary fix. The bathrooms & rooms overall are in need of proper, thorough renovation (stains on wall + sink).

When I brought this safety concern to the attention of the Front Office Manager, Attonayo Branch, I found his response to be dismissive & unprofessional. Rather than acknowledging the severity of the incident, he stated he was unaware of the issue and indicated he was preoccupied with billing & the volume of check-ins. This level of response is inadequate when a guest’s safety, particularly that of children, has been compromised. I want to note that the maintenance team & front desk staff handled the situation with genuine empathy & professionalism, which I appreciated.

While the marina views and proximity to Hampton University are appealing, they don’t offset safety hazards, deferred maintenance, or deficiencies in management-level leadership. I strongly encourage ownership & senior management to review both the physical condition of the rooms & the guest-relations standards expected of managerial staff.

The hotel was full booked for the weekend but check in was so smooth you never would’ve have known. The manager Attonayo helped me with signing up for the Hilton honors program and navigating Hampton for our stay. The room had a beautiful water/city view. Hotel parking and onsite dining were exactly what we needed. I will say the one thing that was disappointing was the walls are thin and our bathroom had some patch work on a makeup mirror but nothing that wouldn’t keep me from staying here again.

The room was comfortable and in good shape. Ruth at the front desk and the bartender were excellent. Convenient parking (for a fee) and close brew pub were nice. Nice and affordable breakfast - try the tacos! The only negative was the homeless guy begging for money in the bar area while we were enjoying our drinks.

We will never stay here again. Even the shower had barely hot water. I got more water pressure out of the sink , then the shower . Parking is not included. Breakfast is 22.00 for one person . Tip was included NOT NOT worth it. Room was dirty. Barn doors fall off when closing bathroom door. The heater sounds like a car motor for 10 mins til it shuts off. Paper thin walls . You hear everything. All around terrible hotel, for a very expensive price tag.

The stay was just okay. The front desk staff was nice but gave in correct information about parking. They do charge hotel guests for parking! Which is unfortunate because no place in Hampton charges for parking. The hotel needs a refresh. The fire safe doors at the elevator held open with the a nail. Two lights in our room were flickering or hanging out of their sockets. The beds were comfortable and it was clean.

Vent in the shower stall was extremely dirty and dusty. Water leaked through the floor to ceiling windows during the rain. Panels above the bathroom sink looked like they could cave in. Only 1 elevator working during stay. Area between bench and bed entrance very narrow. Parking deck in disrepair and very dirty including elevator.

The fire alarm kept going off. We had to evacuate. Outside the building, it was cold. and wet with flood warnings My mom is 77 years old, and we were on two different floors. They couldn't place us on the same floor, so I had to run down from my floor to help my mom out of her hotel room. Before all the firearms, the elevators take way too long. I will not be staying here again. I booked for 2 nights and couldn't check in until 4:00pm, and I left before my second night.

On our first night the toilet was stopped up, there was water leaking from behind the bathroom mirror, and a very apparent water leak causing the paint to weep down another wall. All three elevators broke down on a Saturday. We had to trek up and down 6 floors.

We did not enjoy our room at all. The AC unit was extremely, extremely loud to the point of waking us up out of our sleep each time it started up. Our last night we slept at a higher than comfortable temperature to keep the unit from kicking up so often so we wouldn’t wake up several times during the night. The mattress cover had large, dark stains and so did the lounge chair. The view, while very nice, was distracted by the massive amount of bird poop on the window. The water pressure in the shower was very low and almost useless. The shower floor was disgusting with visible dirt caked and stained into the shower floor. We had to put a towel down so to not touch the floor with our bare feet. Paint was chipping off all the walls, including in the elevator and there was a large drip stain on the door to adjoining room. The shower door did not properly close. The gap between the entry door and the floor was so wide it let the light from the hallway into the room so at night the room was never completely dark unless we laid a towel on the floor. All in all we felt very uncomfortable in our room and will not stay again until proper maintenance and upkeep are done and will not recommend the hotel to anyone either.

On arrival the hallway smelled like feces. I received a room that had a view of the highway to the left a bit of the water to the right. I paid for a water view room. I asked to be changed but wasn’t accommodated. The window curtains wouldn’t open on one side and the shower head didn’t work. I paid for two nights but only stayed one night.

We booked this hotel based on the polished photos, but the reality was very disappointing. The first room had wet spots on the ceiling, scuffed walls, poor water pressure, and connecting doors that gave zero privacy — we could clearly hear our neighbors’ conversations.

After my wife complained, we were moved to a second room, but it still had issues: a loose, unsafe electrical outlet, the same weak showers, and more damaged walls.

For a property advertised as clean and inviting, this was far from acceptable. It felt like false advertising, and I would strongly caution other travelers to look elsewhere.

While the location was convenient for me, the property itself was average at best. The staff at the Desk tried their best, but overall not my greatest experience with a hotel. Everything seemed dirty, kind of used and abused. The parking garage elevators smelled like urine. My hotel room was only serviced two times out of the five nights I was there. Each time it wasn’t, I returned to find a do not disturb tag conveniently hanging on the handle that I know I did not leave. And my hotel room overall while it had an amazing view it wasn’t designed thoughtfully. The shower was difficult to use as it was piped in incorrectly. The floor of the shower was dirty and dingy and could use a good scrubbing with some bleach.There was no counter space for a lady to do what she needed to do for make up or hair. The walls were sloppy dinged often marked with scuffs scratches cracks. I don’t think it was a good value for the price. Definitely not up to the standard I expect from a Hilton hotel.

I was welcomed at late check-in with a smile and prompt service, after a long travel day. Front desk staff, Natasha was courteous, pleasant, and very helpful to me and my family. This is a beautiful location with historic relevance. Aging facilities, outdated window treatments. Shoddy repair work on basic facilities. Get a drone window washing service to clean exterior windows. Breakfast good, weak as water Coffee though. Staff pleasant friendly, but clearly overwhelmed with numerous chore sharing. Housekeeping lax most likely short staffed. DIY shower remodel in our room well below a Hilton standard. There was not a towel rack or counter space with shelves to accommodate our toiletries. We had to use shelf from a IKEA closet to store and use our essentials. Beds were comfortable.
TV nice size. The one chair had stains on it ugh. Also many spill stains on upholstery in the lobby furniture. Elevator antiquated and super slow. This hotel is long overdue for remodeling, wonder why it hasn’t been done!

Lady at the front said the breakfast was at a certain time and I paid for it and then when I went down they said there’s an event so it’s closed. So I paid for nothing. The air conditioner made a clicking noise all night so I didn’t get good sleep at all.

We stayed on the 3rd floor, the ice machines on the 2,3, and 4th floors were not working. The 2nd floor ice machine was leaking so bad that I was literally dripping water on the floor below.

I paid for the room on Expedia and they charge my CC for the room, so paying twice, I had to call to get a refund, been several days since I called and still no refund, I’ll call again today.

Dukes and Boots was going on a couple blocks away, not my type of crowd. Lots of noise at midnight.

Room was clean, but the rest of the hotel was not.

Not sure if something was wrong with the elevators, but it took 5 minutes for the elevator to come. Tried just walking down the stairs and you cannot even take the stairs to the first floor with out setting an alarm off. I walked down from the 3rd floor, saw the warning sign on the door, walked back up the the 2nd floor to ride the elevator to the 1st, I was not happy.

I will not be staying here again…

Bathroom door came off hinge. Not able to close properly for privacy. And, I can't even get into the dining experience which had us waiting over an hour for our dinner. Overall disappointing experience. And, I brought along family who were in the room next door and also had horrible experience. I was dropping my granddaughter off at college & our Hilton stay won't be a good memory, to say the least. I'd ask to actually be fully refunded for my stay, if I could. Actually, I am asking.
