Really enjoyed my stay with Kokotel. Staff was amazing and was in a central area of Krabi that allowed for everything to be a very quick drive or walk without being in the middle of the chaos directly in the beach area. Loved the experience and time spent here.

Awful hotel, felt more like a prison then a hotel room, never stayed in such a dive in my life, unfortunately was also ill when staying here for two nights so didn’t even feel like I could change hotel, how on earth it has an 8.8 rating is beyond me. You couldn’t pay me to stay at that place again. don’t believe the pictures that are on Expedia. Also air conditioning didn’t really work and made an awful noise like it was going to fall off the wall. Avoid this place at all cost!

The staff were great. The hotel was a run down and very old. The bathroom was shocking and not so clean. I booked based on the rating of 8.8 it definitely is not worth that at all. The photos online are very deceiving and the bed was as hard as a rock.

The bed is very hard, the bed sheets were dirty and stained, long check-in process, weird architecture of the hotel makes you climb down to the stairs which can be difficult if you have heavy bags. Ao Nang beach is a min 20 min walk, which is fine but it has uphills and downhills on the way. They do have shuttle service to drop you at the Kokotel Ao Nang branch, but that runs only 5 times a day, so not really helpful if your timing doesn’t match

Enjoyed Ao Nang, but won’t stay here again

Right after I paid for my stay at check in I was told that the pool would be closed for two days for maintenance. It was never open during our four night stay.

The free shuttle to the beach is great, but the location is facing a noisy street. Not too many dinning options, need to explore about 15mins outside the hotel. Paid breakfast was disappointing, very limited option. Paid 108cdn a might, imo its not worth it.

The check in was easy. The room was clean although there was a slightly musty smell our entire stay. There was an issue with the shower not functioning properly our entire stay, the front desk sent someone to fix it and even then there was still very little water and almost no pressure. You can purchase food and drinks from the reception area but the selection is pretty limited. However there are several restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Its a short stroll to the beach and there is a night market near by. They do have a pool, its on the small side so its usually pretty quiet if you're looking to relax. Overall I dont think this property was worth the money and I wouldnt stay here again, nor do I recommended.

Nice place to stay in Ao Nang. Personally loved the location being a bit further away from the business of Ao Nang but still within walking distance of Ao Nang beach and the Night Market as well as down the road from a 7-Eleven and also some great restaurants nearby! Would definitely recommend if spending 2-3 nights in Ao Nang and don't want to stay a little out of the thick of the action in Ao Nang!

The hotel is very nice. Clean and comfortable with a small cafe at reception and a limited menu throughout the day. The staff are very friendly, but always so busy that it can be hard to get help if you need it. Not their fault at all, but they are running reception and the cafe so at times they are just too busy to be as helpful as they’d like to be. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. The showers are adequate, but water pressure is low and not always as hot as you may want. The location, however, is a bit disappointing. It is a good 25 minute walk to the beach and closer to 35 minute walk if you want to get to the end of the beach where there are loungers and sun beds you can rent. You can take a Tuk Tuk but they are pricey -$3 to $6 USD each way which adds up quick if you’re on a budget. It is also a bit difficult to get a Tuk Tuk from right outside. You will likely have to walk 5 - 7 minutes to the main road to find one, and the walk is down a narrow road with lots of traffic and no sidewalk — not fun if you have kids in tow. There are plenty of nearby restaurants, but you’ll have to get yourself down to the main road if you want more options or less expensive choices. The pool is pleasant but the photos make it look bigger. It is quite narrow with limited poolside seating that is always in the shade - not very kid friendly as it’s too narrow for playing. With what we spent on Tuktuks we could have stayed somewhere closer to the beach.

This is a reasonably-priced base for the area. Staff were welcoming and efficient. All our tours picked up from the hotel. The room was spacious and bright. It wasn't dirty, bit it wasn't spotlessly clean either. The bed was really comfortable, though the bedside tables were a bit small and low. The sheets had a few marks on, too. Breakfast had quite a lot of variety and long hours. Air conditioning was very loud, even on the lowest setting. Attempts had been made to be eco-friendly by having some toiletries and additional towels available at reception, but then not so because towels were changed even when they were left hanging as per the information in the room. The room had a kettle, but no coffee or tea. When we asked for these we were told that they were not provided; so, we are not sure what the kettle was for. The main issue we had was the shower. The showerhead was set back above a built in shelf, whilst the taps stuck out unusually far. The water was not powerful enough to reach past the taps so you would not stand under it.

The staff were extremely nice and professional, the hotel was very clean and modern and the rooms very very nice - probably the best we've slept for our entire trip. We ended up extending our stay by two days. Highly recommended, thank you.

i'm passionate about the breakfast provided,food like chicken porridge tasted good,not too salty or oily.The lady in the cafe is always wearing a smiling face.There is also free shuttle bus provided at specific hours.The only thing is the air-cond was too cold,we put on sweater n think blanket during our stayed at krabi.i didn't know whether could adjust to the temperature we wished,tried but couldn't adjust,i think maybe it was preset.i'll surely book other kokotel hotels again in my coming holidays.TQ!

There are some pros and cons, so this review will not be as glowing as I wanted to write.

The property itself is decent, cute boutique hotel lobby, a small pool, a children's room, and you can make use of the shuttle that goes between this location and the other. Shuttle driver was very helpful and friendly, dropping passengers close to the beach as it's on the way to the other location.
The room is comfortable, but there are certain amenities that you have to go down to the lobby to get. Hand towels, bedroom slippers cotton pads and dental kits are not provided in-room. I think it would be fair to provide everything in-room upon check-in, and refills can be requested on subsequent days. When I went downstairs to ask, it felt like I was asking for a favour, rather than getting items I'd paid for as part of the room price - staff could have been friendlier here. Water was not hot at all even when the temperature was on max, all we got for three nights was lukewarm showers.
Breakfast was quite good as others have mentioned, the menu was changed daily. This provides a pretty good value for choosing to stay at this hotel.
The location is slightly far from the main strip, you have to walk along a road without sidewalks most of the way, or pay for a short but expensive tuktuk ride. This is the biggest disadvantage of this otherwise decent hotel. Overall stay was fine, but considering the other gushing reviews here, I was expecting a bit more.

We had multiple incidents of blackout and later on there was water shortage for a few times and for quite a long while. It wasn't really their fault because of the storm but they promised us that the water will be back but it wasn't. We saw other hotel tenants were able to shower but we couldn't. It was disappointing.

The staff at the hotel chains are wonderfully helpful. They went the extra mile to help their guests. The only downside is there's no lift directly to our floor, every time we have to go down and up the stairs to get to our room. It's difficult when you are carrying luggage. But one staff did help us with one of our bag as she can clearly see I was struggling.

Really nice hotel. Very clean and staff are great. I recommend staying here.

The location could be better in that the walk down to the beach is along a road that has no paths. Bit tricky. But ok.

The main thing the hotel could do to improve would be the breakfast. It is the same each day and mainly an Asian breakfast. Considering most guests we saw at the hotel are western I would think the hotel would be better serving breakfast appropriate to the guests.

Don't stay here. Rooms are basic and clean. You have to pay for everything in the room, even tea bags. If you have a room without a balcony there’s no ventilation or no natural light. It’s still under construction so if you’re in the wing with construction going on, it’s very noisy from 8am. The staff had the worst service we received in Thailand. Their favourite phrase was ‘sorry cannot’! Hospitality in Thailand is generally good and if you have special requests, most hotels accommodate these. Kokotel is an outlier. The staff are not at all accommodating for anything, being with changing rooms due to problems in shower or ventilation in the room, to making a vegetarian option for breakfast. If you are a vegetarian, avoid this hotel. Although they make noodles for breakfast (with meat), a simple request to make a small portion without the meat seemed too much of a request. The staff said "sorry, cannot!". They recently built a play room which is not child friendly at all! The edges of most structures has sharp edges. It has no ventilation and a very foul smell! The hotel feels like you’re staying in a box! It was easily the worst stay in our trip in Thailand! I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone mainly due to the lack of hospitality.

I enjoyed my stay, but ...

The reception is confusing, it is a bar, not a desk. The layout is a little odd too, there is no elevator from the lobby to the rooms, you have to walk up or down a level with your bag. Also, the stairs don't meet up. You have to walk down a level on one set of short stairs in order to get up another set of longer stairs. It's not a big deal, just strange. The place was under construction when I visited and there was an odd odour in the hallway.

That said, the staff are helpful, the location is OK, there are free shuttles, it's quiet, the free breakfast is good, the rooms are clean and the mattress and pillows are nice to sleep on. I didn't LOVE it, and I wouldn't stay in to hang out at the pool, but it was good enough to sleep at between adventures.

Nice newly built hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Washroom is a little small though. Attention to detail a bit lacking for eg. paint stains and cement marks from construction work not properly removed despite being opened for about 1 year.
Breakfast spread was limited.
Location is a bit far from the commercial centre and beach but they provide shuttle service.
Overall good experience - unique hotel.

Quiet Location

The hotel is quiet and new! I would recommend to rent a bike to go around Krabi Town and Ao Nang beach area. The staffs are friendly and always welcome you when you are back to the hotel. I would like to special mention Litta for preparing the birthday surprise for my husband. Thank you for the effort! We had an unforgettable stay at KoKotel Hotel Oasis :)

Hotel under construction but still a good stay

We chose to stay here after staying in another kokotel in Chaing Mai that we were impressed by. The hotel was still under construction so there was no lift but the staff were more than happy to help carry the bags to and from the room. Breakfast was a good variety and changed each day. It is a bit of a walk to the beach areas but not too far (10/15 mins). There are a couple of nice restaurants nearby. The staff are really friendly and helpful l

The hotel has no elevator at the moment, it’s under construction so when we got there they wanted to give us a room in the 4th floor and we said no (my mom had had an accident recently) so the staff was very helpful and gave us a room in the 2nd floor. The hotel is ok, amazing breakfast. Cons: first floor bathroom smelled, water pressure was not good and the water would stay for a while. AMAZING STAFF VERY HELPFUL. The walk to the beach is pretty easy and good if you are not lazy, probably 15 minutes.

The hotel is not very close to the beach

The construction work of the hotel prevents a beautiful view to the see. There wasn’t hot water in our shower, so we had to use the shower in another empty room. The stuff was excellent, the breakfasts were good. There was no balcony in our room (we stayed in a family room for four people), so there is no chance to dry swimsuits and towels.

Everything in this hotel is really cute and covered in sheep- they even give you sheep slippers. The day staff is exceptional. They remembered our activity each day and would ask us about it when we returned. Breakfast was good and included western and Thai dishes, pastries, juices. The room was nice, but if you look closely you can tell the construction wasn't done well- the shower corners didn't match up so the shower leaked. The overnight staff was terrible, but unless you have a 3AM emergency like we did, you would never notice.

Would book Kokotel each time!!

About an 8 min walk away from the beach and main road but I love walking and it is at least away from the noise when you want a quiet sleep. Staff and service is awesome and I ended up extending me stay here for 2 weeks since I wanted a very laidback beach holiday. Breakfast was excellent. Again the staff is so hospitable and very very accommodating. THANK YOU KOKOTEL!

Arrived late and was warmly greeted.

Litta was outstanding and really made me feel welcomed for the duration of my stay. She was so sweet, always greeted me with a smile, asked about the islandhopping tour I took, said hi to me at breakfast, and helped me arrange for a taxi to the ferry to go to Ko Lanta. She's awesome!

Great value hotel. Walls are a bit thin but I just used my ear plugs and slept well.

I would definitely recommend kokotel!

Great new hotel

This hotel was fabulous. The beds were super comfortable with 4 pillows plus a body pillow. The shower had good pressure and hot water. The air conditioning kept us cool all night low. The hotel was clean and modern. We ended up extending out stay because we loved the hotel. The breakfast was good and hot. The hotel was within walking distance to the beach but you can also take a tuk tuk for 100 baht. The only con is that there is no elevator and we were on the 5th floor. We would definitely stay here again we loved it!
