Room was clean. Not enough pillows but we’re given more when we asked. Room was extremely HOT at night. They have the thermostat locked so you can not lower it. Not a comfortable nights sleep. Breakfast buffet was good. They also only give one key that has to be inserted into wall to make everything work. If someone wants to go out while others sleep then it becomes an issue.

We stayed here for a week in November and it was lovely. Great neighborhood next to the smaller market and walking distance from the larger more touristy night market. Easy pick up for tours and you’re in walking distance of basically anything you need.
We had one of the loft style rooms and really appreciated the extra space to rest in between activities or to eat takeout at home when we were tired.
The Breakfast was great, especially for someone with gluten sensitivity I appreciated having some non-western breakfast options. We even decided to check out the foam party they had in the pool on Saturday night- it was so fun :) Clientele was a mix of couples and families and we had no trouble sleeping at night, it was nice and quiet.

Special shout out to the staff, Fon, Gift and the entire team who were amazing throughout our stay!!! Would recommend The Red Ginger Chic Resort to anyone coming to area.

Hotel was overall ok, a little tired in places and sometimes the service was a little slow. We were given a voucher for 15% discount and was told we could put food and drinks on the room and claim this when we checked out. Unfortunately when we checked out we were then told this could only be applied if we showed the voucher at the bar every time we ordered. Bedroom was cleaned thoroughly each day and the pool area good.

Great hotel if you don’t mind it being Asian style with decor in red in almost everything. It can become scary for some people but for us it was fine and beautiful. Room are spacious. Everything work great. The pool are great. The front desk are extremely helpful and kind. The down side are they only give you 1 key for each room so if that an issue for you then be warn, it was not a big deal for us. Just kinda have to wait each other to do thing tho. Also if you get room with 2 floor; I can’t remember the name. The upstairs room kinda noisy from the wood when walking. So far we have great experience except when we went to the pool bar and order drinks. I usually stay with beer so no issue but my husband got mojito cocktail there and it not drinkable. By the time he tasting it, our bartender left and a new guy were there we nicely tell him if he could remake or make us something else because it doesn’t taste like mojito … talking from my husband who has been over 30 countries and have countless mojito in those countries. The bartender got back to me oh it because it different color sugar. Talked like we never have mojito before. It’s not about sugar, it the entire taste. It doesn’t cost anything to remake and for us he should remake it. We tips people more than the food or our drinks cost so it’s not about the money but it’s about principle. The drink were full when we left but he could careless. I really not appreciated that at all.

it's a decent place with super friendly, accommodating and attentive staff. the rooms could definitely benefit from an update. the lobby area is great though, if the rooms matched this vibe it would be tops marks from me. the location is unbeatable, very close to everything but not right in the middle of it, which you will appreciate as Aonang can get very busy and loud.

as a comical aside, our room included a \"conplimentary open mini bar\", which ended up including just 2 cans of coca cola and was never replenished.

Great chic resort with an awesome pool!

The name chic best describes this property! The room was very cool looking and comfortable! Had a small patio with a swing, table and chairs and hanging rack for wet clothes. The room had great AC and a comfy bed. The wifi service was a little slow but not horrible. The breakfast was decent with options similar to most hotels I stayed at in THailand. The pool was really nice! Very clean, big and also looked great. They have a small gym that has very little. However, when I was jet lagged and woke up at 5am, they opened it up for me and i was able to get a work out! I accidentally left my headphones by the front desk when I was waiting for my grab. Asked them to ship them to my hotel later in my trip. They gladly mailed them! Cannot say enough good things about this resort! Would definitely stay again!

Very nice experience from start to finish, as we only stayed one night. We rented a room adjoining the pool, which was very convenient and unique. I will definitely stay here again in my future travels. Breakfast was nice as well. They also have a locking bag area for your bags.

The room was very nice,well decorated,bid one, location is exactly in the middle between two central areas, all services are around. Good choice for breakfast,good pool with pool bar.
Noise isolation was not good though, we had a room infront of the main corridors and it felt like people were talking in our room, but they were just passing by outside. Also hotel does renovation of the main entrance right now, so it was very loud during a day,but it seems like they are almost done.
Missing restaurant at the hotel to be honest, just room service. But as we understood they were building some area for it.

When we arrived there was a lizard in the room, the lighting was awful, the fridge was leaking and had a foul smell, we informed the staff about this and nothing was done. To top it off, we were charged upon check out for a missing glass in the room… why would we steal a basic glass worth £2? The room was also very dated. All in all, an average stay.

Room is spacious and clean, the only small complain I have is the lighting of the room is too dim, if I want to read something, it's very difficult for me to do that. Have been staying at the same hotel for the past 8 years. Time to upgrade the hotel facilities. Need to bring travel adapter, hotel key are physical kind. Lift stops operating in the noon and at night and the staircase are pitch black. Room keeper always appear at 10am, can’t sleep in if you don’t do any water activities they will just open the door even when you told them to come later

Only issue was only 1 key was provided for a 3 guest room and inconvenient for other 2 guests as key needs to be in room for a guest staying in the room for lights/AC. This was a great hotel with a nice atmosphere and an amazing pool. The complimentary breakfast buffet was great but the room was a bit noisy due to the lack of windows. The hotel is fairly open concept throughout, with no walls or windows in parts of the hallways, etc., which is nice because it allows the outside breeze to cool the space and makes it feel more expansive.

Only thing I didn't like was they only have shutters on windows that allow the sun to wake you up very early.
Also, if you have special deals like we had free cocktails and mini bar, make sure you are very clear on what you get and where you get it. We were told just order a cocktail and it will be free, only to find out we should of been given a coupon and we now have to pay for our drinks. After some negotiating this problem was solved though. I would stay there again.

This property is in dire need of a deep clean and general maintenance. When we arrived the pool was filthy. We reported this to the reception staff and the pool filtration system was clearly put on, but it took 2 days for the pool to be clean. Rooms weren't as clean as they could be and neither was a lot of the property.

Staff were very nice and friendly and the breakfast was very good. Good selection of food for people from a variety of countries.

The hotel was generally noisy overnight so not a place to go if you are a light sleeper or looking for peace and quiet. You could hear people in other rooms - kids running about, TV, people scraping furniture across floors etc.

The location of the hotel is good. Just off the main road, close to the beach and close to Ao Nang as well, with a good variety of shops, bars and restaurants close by

However house keeping standards is below average, we booked a room for 4 pax, 3 of us turn up but constantly being replenished for 2 pax towels and water. Room condition is a little run down and there are spider webs in some area. linens were different colours.

I had a 3 night stay at Red Ginger Chic.

Check-in was quick & easy, & the staff were very friendly & welcoming (& thanks for the late check-out.)

Room was clean & comfortable, with a nice, big balcony.

I was very impressed by the various eco-friendly things that were in place throughout my room & the hotel.

Food options, incl breakfast, were basic but good.

The hotel is walking distance to many restaurants, stores, services & the beach, or a 3-5 minute tuk-tuk to the bars & clubs.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have the chance to take a swim, but the pool looked great!

Only negative of the stay is that the WiFi was a bit patchy sometimes, but that is a very minor thing.

I would be very happy to stay at Red Ginger Chic again, or recommend it to others, when visiting Ao Nang.

A property that internet pictures way for ejticing then the property itself which has not be well kept. Constantly have flies and mosqitoes in the bedroom despite ensuring sliding door is closed at all times. Bath towels while clean and nice smelling have seen better days and the torn tattered ones shld really be disposed off. Basic toiletries which are not top up. What a gorgeous hotel!!! It really felt like home away from home...and the staff were the best part...fun and friendly yet efficient. By the time we left they felt like family. Smallish, intimate hotel with good amenities and funky, eclectic fit out. We loved it!!! They had lots of extra little touches that you don't get in the bigger resorts. i.e. welcome drink was a fun little cocktail with a moon cake. We were there for Xmas and even had little santa sacks full of candy and nuts etc waiting in our room for us. Cannot recommend highly enough

A wonderful and memorable stay

I just cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Love the modern oriental design and attention to details. Location is excellent (between Ao Nang beach and the other beach I forget the name). Staff are very very friendly and efficient, the pool is one of the best among the hotels in Ao Nang. Breakfast is superb and the restaurant also has GREAT Thai food menu at reasonable price. I also appreciate very much their eco friendly campaign #redgoesgreen, it reflects in everywhere in the hotel, for example they use bamboo straws instead of the plastic ones. We stayed there for 9 nights and in the end, we all feel sad leaving. If you go to Ao Nang, look nowhere else!

Red Ginger chic is a really nice hotel. Comfortable bed, spacious room and it's so convenient. Restaurants, shops, night market all within 10 minutes. The main strip in Ao Nang where more shops and restaurants as well as bars is just 15 minutes walk. Personally I think it's quiet with a nice swimming pool and in a great location. The breakfast wasn't very good but the a la carte menu was delicious. Nice and friendly staff.

Beautiful hotel— the two-story room was perfect for our four-person family. AC worked like a charm in the heat. Excellent breakfast. Great pool, especially if you have a room that faces it (request one!).

Very good service, although the staff was not schooled in helping with off-the-beaten-path requests. Welcome drinks and a swim-up bar made the place fee much more exclusive than the price let on.

Local area just ok. Lots of access to your booking agencies and food vendors/restaurants. Nice local night market very close by. But don’t come here for the beach. Two beaches within walking distance, but don’t plan on swimming. Very dirty water, garbage strewn on sand, smelly water from local ravines empties directly into the sea. Ok for beach-walking, but really nothing else.

Stay at red Ginger. But use it as a hub to go to the islands, kayak through the caves and mangroves, hiking, or going to the rain forest. Do not plan to use the beach; you will not be amused.

I was given a warm reception on arrival and enjoyed the welcome drink. My room was large, clean and comfortable. The bed was fantastic to sleep on. The pool was great and I enjoyed happy hour twice a day from the pool bar. A bit of a walk to each of the beaches and to the restaurants and bars but fairly convenient to all and in amongst a lot of other good mid-range hotels so lots of services available. Staff were friendly. Overall very nice but not exceptional. I would stay here again for under 2500thb per night

Short Pleasant Stay Which Could Be Better

Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The club room was spacious enough. The amenities adequate. The welcome drink and cocktails were appreciated. However, the bed on the main floor was super hard and not comfortable. A sofa instead of a hard seater would have added some comfort too. Our rooms were not made up/cleaned until we called housekeeping although the staff with their trolley were just outside our room when we left. Even then, some of the toiletries were not replenished until requested, despite us leaving tips and not needing dental kits and shaver (which were available upon request). The welcome snacks on the firstvday are appreciated but they would look better if not filled halfway (as though half eaten). Resort is generous with beach/pool towels. It was not too bad but we would try out other resorts in future.

The hotel is very Instagram worthy! However, the airconditioning needs work done, it was very noisy throughout the night. Food options for breakfast was ok, but could do with less pork on the menu. The staff were friendly and polite and could never be faulted. The hotel could improve on their attention to details, so as to make Red Ginger Chic an even more boutique style hotel.

Hotel is quite run down, can't sleep late because the room is too bright. There's no enough curtain yu o block out the lights. Spice cafe serves msg free food & they are delicious. Big room with comfortable king size bed which comes with balcony and complete room facilities. Friendly staffs, umbrellas and bicycles are available free for hotel guests. 5 minutes walk to 7-eleven, Family Mart and Aonang night market which opens every night. Overall good stay!

Great Hotel that's close to Beach & shopping area

Great experience for the 1 week stay.
Omar, the hotel representative welcomed and took care of me and my wife for the 1 week we were there, offering sound advise of what to do and where to go.

Hotel is in great condition, generally well maintained and kept new.
30 mins from Krabi town.

Some minor issues includes:
Brownish tap / shower water, uncomfortable mattress (even though the size is excellent). Woke up every morning with back pain....... Amenities not stocked daily even though its a 4**** rated hotel.

Wonderful Experience

Red Ginger is a beautiful hotel, with stylish decor, clean, spacious and beautiful rooms. The salt water pool is lovely to swim in with many chairs and a pool bar for relaxing. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful too. The only slight issue is the wifi can be a bit temperamental, however, everything else makes up for it. Thoroughly recommend!

Good but could be better

In general a good experience. We received a room upgrade, much appreciated thank you. Upgrade included free mini bar with couple of drinks, a nice fruit platter as well as peanuts and dried banana snacks. Also 25% off any food puchased on first day. Room had bed in loft and included 2 aircon units, one downstairs and one in loft. Ample hot water. Room showing a little wear but had everything required. Bed was a little on the hard side. Staff in general were very good but lobby bar staff didn't impress. Breakfast selection was best of the 5 places we stayed during our 14 day vacation. Pool was fine.
The only issue was the menu in the Spice restaurant. Pretty limited menu, prices ok, but servings small e.g fries accompanying beef tenderlion comprised about 8 small chips. Some improvement could be made in this area.

One major disappointment but nothing to do with the hotel, was the lack of decent beaches for swimming. This applies to Phuket (exception being Karon beach, Koh Samui and Krabi. If you are looking for nice sandy beaches, easily accessible with crystal clear waters you'll be disappointed.

Decent hotel. Clean. Breakfast not good. Bed was terrible in terms of quality/comfort. Nice pool view however very loud hallways, doors slamming throughout the night. Not very insulated so very noisy.

Beautiful clean hotel in great location. Unfortunately let down by poor customer service the majority of times when ordering food and drinks. The safety box in my room was broken and couldn’t open it multiple times and needed staff to come and manually do it which got quite frustrating. Photos on website accurate of the hotel. Pool area really nice.

No electricity from 12pm im at hotel 5pm.Excuse given is whole of aonang do not have but noticed outlets atcao nang has electricity.i noticed the hotel is under going minor renovation.Hotel should compesate at least.Basic tooth brush n body lotion not provided in the room only after asking at night then only being provided.During check in my wife asked lotion in the room receptionist said do not have.

Nice boutique hotel close to the beach

I stayed at a lift room on the 4th floor with lots of space to spread around. The pool is amazing except for the fact that it closes at 7 pm. It is a short walk to Ao Nang Beach and has a great breakfast. I booked a tour for the 4 Islands directly with the front desk and it was of high standards. On my early departure they provided me with a surprise take away breakfast which was a kind and sweet gesture. Highly recommend it.

A Strategic Located Full-Star Hotel

Overall, Red Ginger Chic Resort is a nice hotel to stay at. My partner and I loved the ambience the moment we stepped in due to the artistic decorations. Breakfast spread was good as there were many choices for asians/non-asians/halal options. The room was cozy, clean and comfortable but yet a little dark. Plus point is that things required in and outta the hotel are all provided in the room (i.e. umbrellas, straw mats).
