The Park Plaza Hotel is over 100 years old, therefore the bathrooms are small and basic. The rooms have original dark woodwork and are walls are painted white to add brightness. The beds were very comfortable with very nice linens. There is an old fashioned elevator with a gate as well as a solid door, fun to get on and off! The lobby is right out of the roaring twenties. The staff was efficient and welcoming. Valet parking is the best option in downtown Winter Park. We loved our stay!

This is a sweet, eccentric small hotel. It has a very 30's feel to it; you half expect to see Sidney Greenstreet sitting in a corner. Valet parking made it easy in a busy but excellent location. The bathrooms are tiny with no place to put anything and we never did get facecloths or hand towels, but we loved it nonetheless.

I was very surprised that the common area carpets which by the way were beautiful were dirty! I stayed for two days and the carpets were never vacuumed. The hotel advertised they had a bar which was not true! If you stay there make sure you bring water! The rooms do not have refrigerators so bring a cooler! We walked for an hour to find a store that sold water! The hotel mentioned they have ice water in the lobby which again was not true. They had a water container with room temperature water that tasted weird. There was a housekeeper that sat outside our room listening to tic tok videos every morning. Location is great and the rooms were clean. Management needs to step up though!

Room has PAPER THIN WALLS. Listened to every word from phone calls, their TV, conversations and unfortunate their \"extra activities\" that were quite explicit and loud. Had to check out and go to another hotel as of midnight as the walls are SO THIN.

What a kooky little piece of Winter Park history! The entire staff were lovely. The room felt very European. Everything was clean and had character. Did trains go by at different times? Yes. Could I hear the people in the room next to me? Sure. But, the hotel offers white noise machines and it was totally worth it to be in such a cool part of town. The elevator was so cool! The place is ancient and full of history. Therefore, it needs updating. Simple things like caulking, the tile in the shower, updating the electricity wiring, etc. we always stay here. I love the location as it’s walkable to restaurants, shops, parks bars, farmers market, etc..

This is the 1st bad review I have ever posted, since usually if I have a bad experience, I will speak with the management. and not write a bad review, but this was so bad in addition to escalating to their management, I am writing this. The issue started when whoever checked in the room next to us really late in the evening were with friends who wanted to party and they were so loud we were up all night. We called the front desk 3 times during the middle of the night (midnight, 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. and the response was so bad from the front desk that it turned a bad situation much worse. The front desk said to us on the phone at 3 a.m. with an attitude \"while you are complaining to me on the phone, I can't be doing anything about it\". Then when we called back at 4 a.m. since nothing had been done, he said well a few of the people are leaving now. We were treated so rudely by the front desk that it was hard to comprehend. It was a special getaway with my niece and she was so upset by this since she was the one calling downstairs and spoken to like that, that it really put a damper on our visit. We were exhausted the only full day we had in Winter Park together.

The room was only a few hundred feet from a train track. And freight trains went through all night long and kept me awake. The desk didn’t warn me about this and when I told them about the problem the next day I was told “it’s freight season” and then had to pay to “upgrade” to a room on the other side of the hotel.

Communication about problems with the water was lacking, though ultimately it was resolved. The carpet on the stairs and upstairs was dirty, but the downstairs was nice. The doors to the balcony are very drafty and the walls are so thin that you can hear a sneeze from another room. It has a quaint aesthetic but is overall a rather uncomfortable stay.

Delightfully helpful and welcoming staff. A seamless valet experience. Well organized and clean room. We loved the convenient location and the cozy sound of the train close by, reminding us that these little towns in Florida grew from the ability to be connected by train. A classic, 100 year old building that has been lovingly cared for and beautifully decorated. We attended a concert at the Blue Bamboo Cafe (which was easy walking distance) and we are eager to revisit the Park Plaza for future concerts.
I do want to caution visitors that the walls and doors are definitely not sound proof. It is a quiet hotel because people respect the need for sleep when staying in a hotel. We may have been too chatty during the evening which our neighboring room resident passively aggressive got back at us at 7:40 Am to wake us with evangalism TV blasting that we would be going to hell. I sure wish our neighbor had respectfully called the front desk to let us know that we were speaking too loud for after 10pm.

The location was great, staff was pleasant, and I appreciate the history, BUT, when I stay at a hotel (my personal opinion), I want to feel more relaxed. TV was in the sitting room, the bathroom was horribly small, the shower was weak. Not to mention the $28 valet fee and I could go on, but bottom line, I won’t be back.

I love these authentic old hotels. This place is fantastically charming. The brass key chain and real actual key for an old door is just great. Such a lovely change from key cards and Internet passwords. The floors creaked and the door had a real knob, epic. The decorations, bathroom and tile floors all seem wonderfully dated and true to how this place was 100 years ago and I love it and I just wish I coulda stayed a couple more days and had my wife with em, she woulda dug it too. The downtown area is really cool too. Loved the whole vibe.

The property is in dire need of renovation. Bathroom tiles were broken. Towel bar was rusty. There was a weird skylight that had cobwebs and dirt. Rug in the room was torn and frayed. Floors were slanted and creaked. The overall condition of the hotel was old, dark, dingy, musty. They have an excellent location and that is the only positive attribute. I will never return unless the property is completely renovated.

This 103 year old hotel is such a great opportunity for the owners to make something very special out of an old and tired facility. Yet, as proud as they are of the legacy of this building, nothing has been done for a loooooonnnnngggggg time! It's a shame, really.
My bathroom had black mold on the sky light and was crawling down the wall, the wall under the AC unit was swollen from the moisture dripping down, the shower tiles were chipping, the faucet was coming off the wall, no room for toiletries at all...The bed was very comfy and it is generally clean but....a major reno needs to happen to bring it up to date! Just because thd hotel is old, doesn’t mean it cannot be modernized: electric outlets- they need more of those for sure. There was an extension cord under the bed but after plugging all of my devices I was terrified I was going to burn the place down. The lobby needs attention as well!

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times with great success. However, this time was different. I had some friends staying at the hotel before we got there. The night before we arrived there were many cars broken into in the parking lot. Not sure how that’s possible with all the security they supposedly tout.
When we checked in, which always takes longer than it should at this hotel, we were told that the air conditioning was not working very well. Mind you it was 97° outside.
After having been in the heat all day, helping my daughter move in to her college apartment all I wanted was a nice warm shower. However, when I went to take a shower, the water was cold. I decided to skip the shower and go to dinner. The maintenance man came up and said they will look into it and hopefully have it back up before you get back. We came back and went straight to bed. The next morning we got up and alas, still no hot water.
These things happen. However, what really irks me is I tried to call and talk to a manager before we left and I couldn’t get anyone to even answer the phone. So I waited until the next day and I called and asked for the manager. I was given the assistant manager’s Voicemail. I left very nice and detailed message and asked for a return call.
Here we are a couple days later and no return phone call. They had a chance to make it right, but they chose not to. That’s why I am giving them such a poor review.
