Fantastic location. 400 year old building! Old Town sq. 220 yards away. Tyn sq.has bars and eating options. Staff friendly and efficient. Rooms excellent full 4*. Courtyard balconies. Some notes: lift is bijou! Stairs 20 treads. No guest lounge area. Pedestrian area but easy taxi access. For its location and quality of staff and rooms a well deserved 5*. I would definitely choose this hotel again when in Prague.

I booked for the location, but the uber driver could not find the hotel door. I dragged my suitcases on rocky streets to get to the front door. Reception area was dinghy, uncomfortable, but the worst part of the hotel was the bed. I got back pain from sleeping on the old knotted matrices. Some front desk personnel were untrained, uninterested, but one lady that worked on the front desk on Sept 6th and 8th was good, and housekeeping mgr was great. Otherwise I would rate 1 star for service. The nearby bar was so loud till midnight on weekdays. Be aware if you are a light sleeper.

The hotel is well located, very close to the astronomical clock and plethora of shops and restaurants in the Old Town. It’s just off the main square but is less grand in appearance than many of the hotels. The entrance looks tired and you enter through what looks like a garage under an old archway, where a car was parked blocked the space most of the time. The small square outside is full of Irish pubs and an absinthe shop. So it’s a bit noisy and the smell of cannabis was quite strong. The room was clean and the beds tidy. I had a triple room because I was travelling with my two teenage daughters, this was tricky to find most hotels had a two. And then sofa bed but this was three proper beds. Whilst they could fit the beds in the room then contained too much furniture but conversely also felt a little sparse. The breakfast was okay. The lift is tiny enough for one person and one suitcase. The luggage room was out of action but they let us store our suitcases in the small reception whilst we were waiting for the room. The staff were friendly and helpful but issues like the absence of a secure luggage store, the messy entrance, the somehow cramped and characterless room reduced the overall score. It’s didn’t Look like the pictures.

Great place. Awesome staff. Great breakfast spread. I wish there was an armchair in the room because if you want to drink tea or just sit down, you have to sit on the bed. There’s only one chair by the desk and no arm chat or anything. The shower door kept opening and all the floor got wet. There’s also no Wi-Fi in breakfast room, which is very inconvenient when you need to plan your day.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. We were bumped up to a suite and it was wonderful. Also, chocolates and wine were provided at no charge and the reception was wonderful. There was some street noise but it did not keep us from sleeping. would stay again.

The parking is a short walk away which was a little rough in winter but wasn’t too bad. There are restaurants all around the hotel and it’s very close to all the attractions.

Big SCAM in Prague,

I make a reservation months a go, I arrived and they said there was a problem. they sent me to another hotel, lower category. It looks like a SCAM to me, they have all the information to keep in contact to me, but instead they waited for me to arrive and sent me to another place. Can I trust in Hotels.com after this? please help me, I require a full refund. And also i require you to check if this is something that has have been happening with this hotel. If this is it, be careful, It´s not a reliable relationship with this kind of hotels. They also have already printed maps of the other hotels where they sent the clients that have reservations problems... for how long does this guys have been doing this?? I hope that you can stop this kind of practice I have been your client for a long time, and this is the first awful situaiton with you. Please keep your standars high.

From the moment we arrived we had a terrific 4 night stay. The hotel is very close to the Old Town Square, but far enough away to not be in the throng of people. About a 1.5 minute walk.

The breakfast was quite wonderful. There was a very wide variety of continental style breakfast items as well as several cooked items, whether crepes, eggs, sausages, etc.

The customer service provided by the hotel staff was as good as it can be. From the cleaners of our room who left it spotless daily, to the breakfast staff ladies who were always cheerful and efficient. Highest compliments to concierges Martin and Ecateina. Every request was dealt with cheerfully and professionally.

Our room was huge, with a large bathroom as well.

The hotel has a small courtyard, with several sets of tables and chairs at each of the levels of the three story building.

The property has an elevator.

It doesnt get more central in Prague. All of the sights in Prague within walking distance.
But the rooms; crooked mattresses which tilted to the side and gave us back-pains, a two-person room but only one chair?, noisy air-con, creaky floorboards. We spilt a bit of water on the floor one day and when we took some paper to wipe it, we saw how dirty the floor was. The same 4-5 clasical songs was playing on repeat every morning. We recognized parts of breakfast was put on the table the next day, the bread was not fresh but some pre-baked bread and heated (sometimes) and therefore a dry. Perfect location. If you have a car they register your car for the night for street or garage parking. Checked with other hotels and you are on your own for parking. There is a fee for overnight parking. Room was huge and hotel is 1 block from old town square and tour bus station that will take you to sites around the city. Recommend the hotel highly. For the hotel, change the shower head to a more rain shower style. All the settings are super fine jets which feel like needles 😊. Excellent breakfast and staff are very friendly.

The pictures online looked amazing. The actual room I got had one window that was about one square foot in size. I wanted to switch to a room with bigger windows but was told they didn't have other vacant rooms. So I checked out early and moved to a nearby hotel (The Iron Gate, amazing property). When I told the front desk at Josephine that I was checking out early, they said that they had other rooms for me to look at. I declined and moved to the Iron Gate. The front desk at Josephine told me to work with expedia for refund for the nights that I didn't spend there. Then when expedia tried to contact the hotel multiple times to confirm my early check-out, the hotel wouldn't provide confirmation.

We had a lovely stay at Josephine, Old Town Square. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. We received a bottle of wine on arrival & on my wife's birthday, the hotel has left a bottle of prosecco in the room and all took the time to wish her a happy birthday. The property is situated in an ideal position, slightly off from the main town square, so away from the hustle bustle, but literally 5 minutes walk to get there. The hotel itself doesn't have a restaurant apart from serving breakfast, but there are numerous places to eat very close by.
The hotel itself is amazing. The staff were smiley, welcoming & very helpful. The receptionists spoke English, which was good as we don't speak Czech.
The entire hotel is spotlessly clean with excellent facilities provided, including a complimentary bottle of wine.
Breakfast was one of the best selections we have ever had. Absolutely delicious.
We cannot fault anything with Hotel Josephine. Thank you.

The room is definitely not as described nor in the photos. We had no sofas or chairs. We reserved a room with 2 beds for 2 people and were given a room that had 4 beds in it, but nowhere to sit.

If there was a rating worse than terrible I would choose that. Do not stay here. Yes this a poor facility. First of all they are lying when they tell you they will apply a discount or make the price lower on your next stay if you call them. I found a cheaper deal on another site and their words were hollow. Beyond this the staff failed to accommodate us with a correct converter so we weren’t able to charge our phones. They made our stay in Prague unenjoyable and there are much better facilities to stay at here in Prague. Not to mention we payed in full for a specific room and they gave it away and gave us us a smaller room where the air conditioning did not work. Manager did not care and when we needed to stay an extra night they told us to go somewhere else. Czech Inn hotels which owns this hotel didn’t care either. I would not recommend.

The hotel was delightful in all respects. From it's location just off old town square with a superb view of the twin spires of the Tyn church, with a lovely quiet courtyard entrance, which allowed us to slip way from the hustle and bustle in the larger square outside, the room was very elegant in decor and layout.
The staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and very efficient, especially Martin on reception and the ladies running the breakfast restuarant.
The breakfast was superb, with cereals, fresh fruit, home made cakes and deserts, continental cold meat and cheeses and salads, a hot selection of eggs bacon etc, 5 different types of bread - all good - and coffee/tea; a fabulous spread every day!!!
As Prague is a hotspot for Stag & Hen nights, it was quite noisy at night - all around Old Town Square not just the hotel - and ear plugs were provided by the hotel - ery thoughtful in my opinion.

Property is so near to the center, which is good, very clean and room is big, bed very comfortable, only downside is the reception, the day of check out we booked a taxi at 7am and reception wasn’t in which it says open at 7 we waiting 15 mins, even that we are paying for a taxi outside, the receptionist never came, trying to leave the key is impossible even was all paid for it, I’ve sent an email about leaving the key and no response yet.

Great location, lots of space, nice freebies in the room, very pleasant staff. Overall a lovely stay. The rooms aren't fancy but they're spacious, clean and fully equipped, we had a great view of the square. Location is really the selling point, everything you'd want to see in the city is close by, but the property was really pretty and aesthetically suitable for the area as well. What a warm welcome from Zarin! We traveled here from New York and after a long, tiring travel day we were so pleased to be greeted with such a wonderful person. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast everyday was delicious with a huge variety. Varda in particular made our stay unforgettable. We were treated like family. Although I don’t remember any other workers names, everyone was very pleasant and made our stay enjoyable. Location was also great as we were very close to the square. I highly recommend this hotel!

The location was amazing!! Right in the historic district, 1 minute walk to Old Town Square. We had a great view of the Tyn Church from our room. Staff was wonderful and incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast, though not included, was excellent! 8 euros per person, all you can eat. The hotel was clean, safe and lovely. It is on a courtyard from the 11th century right behind the church of Our Lady before Tyn. HIghly recommend it!
