We enjoyed staying at the extended stay. The staff was not as helpful as we had hoped. We stayed for 3 weeks and during that time I had lost my card or it stopped working a couple of times. The night person was frustrated and not caring or thoughtful of our situation and was rude to say the least! Other than that the sink did not have a stopper so I could not feel the sink with water. The rest of the room was good and it was clean. I would stay there again.

Do not recommend... The ONE staff member ruined the WHOLE stay. The manager handled the situation to the best of her ability but the one staff member was horrible. I also assume she is a resident here because I saw her one morning in her pajamas walking her dog and she immediately turned around and went inside. Knowing that she was a resident and I would most likely be encountering her again just made me anxious the whole stay. It was a terrible feeling. Also, the amenities that you take for granted are not so here. If you want linen service it is $1.75 extra to trade your linens in. You don't have access to someone at the desk after 10 pm and if you use the phone to call after 10 pm, you may end up with a horrible attendant berating you because your key didn't work and you didn't want to wake up your guest who was in the room. She also told me I would be charged for asking for a new key because I had a guest in the room who could open the door. Again, I didn't want to wake my guest up if they were asleep. But am I crazy or asking for a new key should not be that big of a deal that I would actually get charged for it. (I didn't get charged, by the way.) Sorry, I stay at a different hotel for work each week and will NEVER return to this property if that employee is still there. I have never been treated so rudely in all my years of traveling. Sorry... do not recommend. (The manager was very understanding.)

The TV lost signal and no staff members were able to fix it. They wanted to charge me more money for clean towels “I don’t live”there, I’m only staying for 3 days. Speaking of people who “live there” they are loud all 24 hrs which made it difficult to sleep and I was concerned about their strange behavior by the front door as I had my children with me. Also, even staff members and “live in guest” smoking by the front the door, which is truly unhealthy for everyone!!!
There is a designated “smoking area” everyone should have to use it. Expedia should know these types of hotels are NOT appropriate for family vacations!!!

We had just an okay stay at this hotel. THe most concerning aspect was the lack of staff present to help. In the morning (from 7- 9 am), there was a locked grail across staff welcoming center and no note about whether staff may be back or not. Similarly, arriving at night, the staff presence was minimal. The room was quite dated and worn, with stains over the outside and inside of the refrigerator and multiple stains in the bathroom. By the way, this hotel brand does not provide hand towels. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel.

No toilet paper on arrival. 3rd day they stripped the bed and only left us one towel and no hand soap (which was in the room initially). When we let them know we were checking out early due to the conditions they told us to “have the day we deserved”. Reached out to hotels.com (representative was friendly) and I was offered $25 key note cash which I haven’t seen. They also said they had to have the property approve a refund of the last night. The property wouldn’t answer the phone and after two attempts they said that’s all they could do and I’d need to reach out a second time to have them try again. Not very customer friendly. Would not recommend this property. We aren’t picky at all and knew the amenities were lacking. We have been displaced due to flooding and needed a place to stay but this property was real bad

At 6 a.m. we were trying to get ready to leave, but no front desk staff for extra towels and washcloths. Only one was in the room. Waited until about 630, no one showed up. Won't be staying at one of this brand again.

We arrived 15 minutes prior to the advertised front desk closing time. The desk was already locked up, but we heard someone behind it, playing music. I knocked on the door and got no response, so I sat down and called the after hours number. A woman came and went into the desk area and told another woman back there that someone was waiting for help. She then came out and gave me attitude, stating we must have just walked in. I told her no, we had been waiting for about 10 minutes. She argued that wasn't true. We got checked in. Our room was nice overall, but there was a huge red stain on the carpet in front of the tv.

Room had old scratched up furniture.. The veneer actually ripped off the side of dresser. TV too small for size of room. Nasty stains on carpet, legs on table broken and lamp by bed f’d up and not working.

No shampoo amenity or coffee in morning.

Lobby and elevator smelled like urine.

This is not a good place to stay. For over 125 bucks a night it should be much better.

We spent three nights at the property, and the overall experience was modest. The staff stood out for their warmth and attentiveness, always ready to help with our questions. Our room featured a kitchenette, but it lacked basic essentials such as a coffee pot and cooking utensils, which limited its usefulness. Several standard amenities were missing, and the bath water was only lukewarm with low pressure, making showers less comfortable. Housekeeping is provided every two weeks, and additional towels come at a nominal charge. While the staff were a highlight, other aspects of the stay did not meet expectations. On a positive note, there was plenty of parking available, and the neighborhood felt safe and secure.

This property is seriously lacking in amenities! We only got 2 towels & 2 wash rags, no hand towels for 3 nights. If you want more, you have to pay. The floor was uneven, and felt ike a soft spot was in the bathroom. The kitchen sink was leaking, and we went to tell the front desk. They said they did not have maintenance on call over the weekend. The lighting in the bathroom was severely lacking. The shower head was a joke. You only got 3 pillows, and they were very flat, and the bed was pretty hard. One of the bedside lights did not work, nd the TV would not connect. The entire building had an awful odor that was VERY off-putting. The ONLY bright spot of the stay was Tyler at the front desk! He is AMAZING!! I would not recommend staying here unless you are desperate. Just a fair warning.

What a god awful property! Your staff needs training on how to be professional and smile what a very cringe interaction I had with this lady I almost cancelled on the spot. Also don’t state your w smoke free hotel when the entire hall smaller of crash cigarettes I even asked to be put on the first floor because of my child and wasn’t even accommodated. The staff were very friendly! I felt safe and it was conveniently located to where I needed to go.

I was surprised that for being an extended stay, there was a kitchen but no cups, plates, silverware, etc. A few suggestions for the room I stayed in would be to make sure outside of fridge is cleaned better, make sure smoke detector is not dangling from the ceiling and add some items to the kitchen so that people don't have to buy things to use the kitchen!

I booked my stay at Extended Stay America Suites – Appleton through Hotels.com for 9 nights. My wife had total knee replacement surgery, and we felt that she would have too much trouble trying to climb the stairs to our second-floor condo, so we booked a handicapped accessible room in a place with an elevator. We paid for the entire 9-night stay in advance. After staying 5 nights, she was feeling better and her physical therapist told her she could climb stairs. She went home and I went over to the hotel to get our gear and check out. I did not ask for a refund for the 4 unused nights that we already paid for.

The hotel informed me that I owed and additional $123.00 because I did not stay long enough to get the weekly discounted rate. I told them I would keep the room for 4 more nights, let it sit empty and owe them nothing. I went home and called Extended Stay America corporate office. They told me the same thing, that I would owe them and additional $123.00. Then they told me I could check out after 7 days and owe them nothing. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of. It is also one of the biggest rip-offs anyone has ever tried pulling on me. When I went to check out after the 7th day, there was nobody manning the desk and nobody anywhere to be found to check me out at 1:00 PM. I went back on the 8th day and they said they could not check me out early because I booked the room online through a third-party site. I handed over the keys and left.

Would NOT recommend Appleton location

The room was clean, but there was a lingering smell. The hotel does accept pets, which we had as well, so we just accepted the smell as being from a previous guest with an animal too. We booked on Hotels.com, and were quoted a specific price per night, for the two weeks. However, upon arrival, our quoted price was not honored, and we were charged over $20 more per night. The hotel Manager, Paula, was not very friendly and quite rude when I went to inquire as to our stay. I asked more than once for an itemized copy of our bill, only to be met with a very terse attitude. Finally, three days later, I was able to get the weekend supervisor to give me a bill. I've worked in both small and large hotels over the years and have never treated a guest the way we were treated. I might try Extended Stay again, but NEVER in Appleton. It's not worth the headache and the attitude from the manager. Plus, when we asked about getting supplies to cook with, we were just told No. I've seen the signs regarding purchasing cookware, but evidently, we weren't even worth that option. Poor management skills and horrible customer service.

Upon checking in the key didn't work and we had to use the stairs to the third floor. No luggage carts. After getting a working key we went into the room and it was dirty. The toilet was dirty inside and out. There were also dogs barking nearby.

We moved to a different room which was also very dirty. There was a can of spilled Sprite on the floor, dirty socks under the bed, toenail clippings on the floor, and hair all over the bathroom—another trip down the stairs to request a broom from the desk.

We spent about 30 minutes cleaning our own room before settling in. Now, 9:30, and our supper was cold. We ate and went to bed. At 10:30 the hallways were so loud we had to call the desk again.

We definitely expected a LOT more for a $ 150-a-night hotel.

My husband and I have used this hotel in the past and liked it because we travel with our dog and it happens to be close to our favorite rstaurant,Nakishimas. We haven't been here in a few years and it was extremely disappointing! The room was filthy. The bathroom sink was clogged and the refrigerator sounded like it was going to die any minute. We couldn't use the light fixture next to the bed because it was broke. I honestly should rate this terrible but the front desk man,Tyler, did take down the room number and wrote down all the issues.I won't be back it's not worth it. There are a lot more hotels to choose from that do a better job for the money.

Carpet was so faded and dingy looking, I refused to walk barefoot in the room.. Glad there was nothing extended about my stay! Not so great. Check-in was fine, but the hotel is not clean.

Cons:
Bath tub was dirty.
Bathroom was very tiny, had to walk around toilet to close the door.
No hot water for shower.
The stove was not working properly, the dial does not match with the temperature - had to turn until it worked.
Front desk gave us some dirty mugs - not sure how it could be provided to customers, clearly they were not washed - food scraps and stains inside the cup.
Brown water came out of the kitchen sink.
Super light breakfast - Nutri Grain bars, oatmeal, and pre-packaged muffins. (Should not be advertised as breakfast, really just snacks.)

Room remained cool with A/C.

Given a coffee maker that had mouldy leftover coffee grinds in it. The microwave was broken, sparks flying around when I first used it and it took them two days to replace. Fridge was filthy. Door of fridge and bathroom had dark stains from hands on them. I cleaned the cook top of previous person mess and grease stains. Would not recommend for someone with minimal standards. Their \"breakfast\" was coffee instant oatmeal nutragrain bars and dry dusty plastic wrapped muffins. Staff was not knowledgeable of what was going on.

Unfortunately the room smelled horribly with many large, terrible stains all over on the carpet. Even the room entry hard flooring had stain challenges. We needed to keep the windows open to air the room out. The hotel finishes are old and dated. I would not want to stay there again, unfortunately.

The hallways smelled old and musty. We opened up the curtains and a swarm of fruit flies flew out and they were all over the room the rest of the night.
