- Room too hot. Had to sleep with window open despite having a portable fan. Couldn’t seem to make the room any cooler. Unfortunately a lot of outside noise but has to choose between not being able to sleep because of noise or being too hot.
- Safe didn’t work.
- Bathroom tired and in need of refurbishment.
- Noise echoes throughout the building. You can hear every door being closed and conversations and TVs through the walls. You will get woken up by the cleaners outside your room. Provided earplugs not adequate.

The property was very easy to walk from Roma Termini. The room, property, and surrounding area were clean. The neighborhood was quiet with many food options nearby and in Roma Termini. Breakfast was great, well organized, quick, and delicious. The staff were very nice especially Linvio at the front desk, who gave us alot of great info for getting around. I would recommend and we would definitely stay again

Our stay with this property is wonderful. The AMAZING thing is this property is very close with Roma Termini which is a central train station, only less than 5 mins walking distance from the hotel. If you want to go to see colosseum or Fontana di Trevi, only 2 stations away from Roma Termini. If you want to go to Vatican City, less than 7 station away. It is very convenient area! Very recommended!!

We loved our stay at Hotel Varese. The staff are amazing! You’ll feel like family.

The rooms were a great size. The location is the best in the city. You're walking distance from great restaurants and ther Termini station. Quick jaunt to the airport. Quick jaunt to the sites.

Breakfast was awesome and they put a lot of effort into it.

We really can't wait to go back and we sincerely appreciate everything Max and the whole team did. You can't go wrong with Hotel Varese!

A very nice hotel only five minutes walk from the Termini train station. The room was clean and refreshed every day and staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a little unusual in that you ordered what was essentially a buffet style breakfast. Having said that, it was very good, especially the scrambled eggs. The juice and biscuits they offer in reception were also very welcome. We would have liked to watch a film one evening but it was an old tv so no Netflix and channels available were very limited.

Staff is really nice and helpful. They tried to make our stay a pleasant one even though their A/C had problems in one of their rooms but to fix it we had to be outside our room for more than an hour.
The hotel is clean and convenient if you will continue your journey by train since the train station is only a few blocks away. The hotel is small and needs a good make over specially the elevator. We had a bathtub and didn’t like it because it’s quite hard to step out and there are no handles to make you feel safe.

Definitely a perfect transactional hotel. Wonderful and helpful lobby staff. A very charming general manager. Front desk staff help me obtain wine glasses in a bottle opener when needed. A very abundant number of towels. A bit small but otherwise excellent for staying a couple nights in Rome. I’ve stayed here prior to departing back home and was absolutely perfect. Great location you’re all great amenities in a very bustling energetic area of Rome. Very close to main train station so will help you with your transportation. I’ll definitely stay here again if need be.

We only stayed for the night. The room was dingy and had some damage to the baseboards. The bathroom looked and felt clean. Good blow dryer. The bed was rather stiff and lacking a mattress topper. Had a mini fridge and desk space which was nice. We asked the front desk to call us a cab to go to dinner and she said they may or may not show up so it’s better to go get one on the street. Our previous 3 hotels called us one every time we asked.

The hotel staff goes above and beyond to help with getting oriented to the city, organizing tour needs
and asking how things went when we returned. The cookies and juice near the steps were always an extra when we returned! The breakfast food and service are great too! On top of all this, they recommended several great restaurants nearby.
It truly is easy walking distance to the Termini train station - only 3 blocks, a turn and 1/2 block. (Many hotels underestimate the walk!)
My only request would be to have a bench or hooks to hang my clean clothes while I showered and one to hang my towel for easy reach when I’m done.
My only suggestion is not to use the Green Bus hop on service. It is cheaper than the other Hop Ons, but we often stood waiting longer for our bus and watched several of the companies come and pick up their people. Thus we saved some, but wasted more time waiting when we really wanted to see sites.

The hospitality and friendliness is amazing and sincere. The staff are awesome!

The room and the bed were very comfortable and we both slept very well.

Breakfast was terrific. The food was plentiful and of high quality. Once again the staff were brilliant.

This is a great place to stay when visiting Rome. It is 5 minute walk to the station which gives you easy access to all the sites and there are some great bars, cafes and restaurants around the area.

I was in room 14 and that section of the hotel feels like a garage conversion. No window or extractor in bathroom. The extractor not working and it looks like it has not worked in years. Asked for repair but nothing done. Noise within the hotel filters to this area. Disturbed sleep one very noisy male member of staff can be heard most times of day and night.

Since I value peace and quiet and good ventilation I would score them 3-4 out of 10.

Hotel is located in quiet neighborhood a few blocks from the main train station. We stayed in a triple room, it was spacious and very comfortable. The first night was a little cold in the room but we asked for extra blankets and the staff were great. Breakfast was very good and had many good options. We will definitely stay here again, this hotel made our stay in Rome very enjoyable.

The staff were extraordinary. Santa at the restaurant was very friendly and efficient. The front desk staff were all friendly and accommodating to our needs. The manager was friendly and approachable. Expedia said breakfast buffet but it was full serviced meal with unlimited options. Expedia needs to correct the information because it’s misleading when you don’t see the buffet. I will definitely stay there again if I come back to Rome.

The hotel experience was exceptional - the best I've ever experienced ( I've stayed in hundreds of hotels in my life). The manager (Livio) treated my wife and I like family - he recommended outstanding restaurants, gave us travel directions and catered to our every need - you could not ask for a better hotel stay. The hotel is in a safe and quiet area close to the Roma Termini with awesome classic Italian restaurants around every corner. The breakfast is incredible as well. They have complimentary fresh pineapple/orange juice and cookies available around the clock in the lobby. If you want the best, most economical Hotel in Rome - then stay here.

The hotel is located near Roma Termini, the main train station. A great location. It’s comfortable and comes with an excellent breakfast. It is clean but has noticeable putty and paint work.

My only complaint were the repeated phone calls and emails prior to arrival. I had confirmed via phone days prior however still received emails and three phone calls with a need to know a specific arrival time.

Stayed with my 14 year old son. Arrived 1 hour before check in and they were able to put me right into a room. Nicely furnished room with comfortable shower(some are too small for me). Conveniently located near train station and near a garage where I kept my rental safely. Left bags after check out and picked up later when ready to leave. Highly recommend this hotel, I’ll stay again when in Rome.

This place was safe, quiet, clean, and close to the train station. The front desk staff was over-the-top friendly. He hooked us up with snacks and a dinner recommendation when we arrived (the owner of that restaurant was also super personable and hooked us up with some freebies). When I told the front desk staff that we wouldn’t be able to make breakfast because we had to catch an early morning train/flight home, they bagged up some food for us (bananas, sweet bread, toast and jelly packets) right then and there.

Also worth mentioning, this place had the nicest towels (big, white, and fluffy) of the four places we stayed in Italy.

The proximity to Termini station is the best thing about this place. The included breakfast was also pretty good. Most of the staff was warm & welcoming and helpful.

However, it's not the prettiest hotel, and I found the room to be dark and dingy. The bed was hard and uncomfortable.

Location near the train station is convenient. Front desk staff very pleasant and knowledgeable. HOWEVER, the cleanliness and condition of this property is very poor. You have to walk through a labyrinth to get to the room which smelled terribly musty and mold was growing everywhere. The walls, shower, and bathroom were all covered in mold and there were very poor attempts to cover this with paint. There was a sign asking us to reuse our towels to conserve water that was so moldy it barely clung to the wall. The garbage can in the bathroom hadn't been emptied when we checked in (empty cans of olives were left inside) and there was hair on the walls in the shower. The mirror had handwritten messages on it that only appeared after a hot shower which means the mirror hadn't been cleaned either. When I got in bed, I felt something hard under my leg and found a chewed off FINGERNAIL under the covers. I would not recommend this hotel unless you're absolutely desperate.
