The room was well designed, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. Staff was first rate, from check-in to the restaurants to housekeeping as well as the guest service phone operators. There was quite a wide variety of food for breakfast and I guess for guests from overseas, it would be a nice buffet spread. But as it was predominantly local food, locals were left feeling that we could have a much better local breakfast if you know where to find them. But not a complaint. It is a good introduction to local cuisine for overseas guests. The spa and gym facilities are very good. It also has his and hers sauna, steam rooms and hydrotherapy pools. Location is great, just a very short walk to Orchard Road and MRT stations.

It’s a great location. The room was very good. Some of the staff not so friendly at the front door. They should have told us when we checked in about the fantastic gardens and the pool. We discovered them by chance on the last day so never got to use them.

Loved the newly renovated Grand Hyatt on Orchard Road - the place exudes modern sensibilities with a Japanese touch. Attention to detail on little comforts like spring loaded sliding doors and automated bidet made the stay truly enjoyable. The spa and outdoor pool area were very done. Super convenient location within walking distance to Orchard MRT.

I recently stayed 8 nights my my wife and 2 year old son. We had such an amazing stay. I really can not find anything negative to say about the Grand Hyatt.

The location is fantastic as it's just a few minutes walk to Ion, Paragon and Takashimaya shopping malls along with Orchard MRT station.

The hotel itself is very modern and clean. The standard king room at 42sqm is very large and my son had plenty of room to run around and play. He particularly loved the daybed in the window. The bathroom is beautiful and has a double vanity with backlit mirrors, large walk-in shower with two shower heads and smart toilet. I can't forget the Balmain toiletries which smell amazing. I wish i had them to use at home. Room service is of very high standard and we never had to wait more than 25 minutes. The club sandwich and vegetable curry with roti bread was absolutely delicious. Easily the best curry and roti we have ever had! The hotel has done a great job soundproofing the rooms as they are very quiet and we could not hear our neighbours on either side and no noise from the hallway either which is a first for us. I'm sure our neighbours were equally relieved as toddler melt downs are real :)

The pools and gardens are my favorite part of the hotel. As the pool opens at 7:00am, I loved having a morning swim and listening to the birds singing and taking in the warm fresh air. It's so relaxing and a great way to start the day.

We will return next year for another week :)

When i arrived to the hotel in my car on sat 2pm, i told the hotel valet malay man that i need to do valet as the hotel carpark is full. He ignored my comments and told me to drive out and get into the carpark. However he allows a porsche car to park. When my family check out, my wife had the luggage bag and was waiting with my kids. I drove up to the lobby, and the same malay doorman ignored my wife and did not bothered to even asked if any assistance is required. It was a good staycation but destroyed by one bad attitude staff.

Outstanding service book this again anytime

This was a great experience the hotel although slightly worn in places is undergoing a full renovation and assuming the staff don’t change will be an even more wonderful experience in future!
The reason for this is down to the staff both the concierge team and reception were outstanding and went over and above normal customer service levels ( a special mention must also go to the Manager Parveen Kumar for superb service) I hope these reviews go back to the hotel as I am considering wring to the Hyatt executive about this excellent service.

Very few or almost no sitting areas in the lobby to sit and meet with guests for business meeting. Very limited sitting at bar and had to be put on wait list to get a sitting. Your options are either stand & talk, or had to go out of hotel to have a business meeting. I would skip this hotel when in town for business. Family vacation, yes.

I found out a day before my arrival that the hotel pool, gym and restaurant was closed and that the hotel was under renovations all day. I changed hotel because this situation was NOT disclosed on the booking website. I still had to pay for one night stay. A very disappointing experience!

The hotel room was spacious and clean. The staff (both counter and housekeeping) were very accomodating. It was unfortunate we were unable to get a breakfast slot for both mornings when we were there (both 730am and 9am slots were full). Luckily there are options for us outside the hotel that were within walking distance.

It was a good experience for us as a family for a short staycation.

Hyatt used to be very good some 10 years ago. The Hyatt I saw today seems to have lost all its charm. The service was bad. The quality of food at Breakfast was bad. I stayed in the suit, the furnishings were very dated and old. The club lounge was very basic in its facilities and food offerings. At 1.3k per night, the room was overpriced.

My Couple Stay

The trip was generally good with a few exceptions.

1) The room I was allocated to had a faulty wardrobe cupboard. The door could not be closed properly

2) The wooden path walking towards the pool area is worn out at some areas, I got a splinter stuck to my feet. The staff provided some basic support to try to remove the splinter.

3) The external part of the room windows are not cleaned, thus affecting our view of the surrounding areas.

Check-in was easy and FO staff was friendly. Lovely room really enjoyed my stay. Aircon was cold enough in the room. Bathroom was clean. But Bed is abit hard and moves easily when your partner moves, so may disturb your sleep if you are a light sleeper. Overall, still an enjoyable stay.

However, the only troublesome thing was the parking. After 9pm, access to the carpark lift and entrance door is closed, so it’s quite troublesome to head out or come back late. You will need to park and walk a big round to the front entrance of the lobby to enter.

The other thing is that they only gave 1 complimentary ticket per day. So if you have to go out multiple times for lunch/dinner or just to run errands, take note of this. Also, when I asked the reception for parking rates, the first staff told me she doesn’t have that information. The 2nd staff tried to find that rates for me but took a little longer. I suggest that Hyatt should have the rates on hand easily. They should have such information for guests available.

Great recovery by the front desk manager.

The check in took a long time as there were many people checking in. We were told room was not ready dispite telling them we needed an early check in. Waited for 1.5 hours and room is still not ready. Eventually had to talk to their manager before we were given a room upgrade and she felt apologetic as our cake was spoilt due to the long wait and she also gave a cake from the hotel. Thanks for the great recovery.

Overall it was ok. But, the rooms are not what we expected in a \"5 star\" hotel. The rent per night is not worth for the room size and condition. It is very very mediocre. The tables and furnitures are also very old in the room. I will be very careful next time when choosing the Hotel for stay.

Property, though dated, was still nice and elegant. Room was HUGE, with a bedroom and a separate \"living room\", very rare these days.
However, equipment in the room needs serious refreshing. Television was old, channels were dated and picture was jerky. TV also couldn't be casted upon.
Wifi was broken for almost a day (out of 3) and only fixed after informing help desk a couple of times. When it was up, it was fast and stable. Thankfully it came up so we could put on netflix/disney for the kids.
Showers and bath was nice and powerful, no issues there.
Lights were a little dim, and some light switches were broken (the night lights especially felt a little wonky and non-functional)

BAD EXPERIENCE

Requested check in early but I arrived after 3pm since that is the check in time. Queued for 30mins just to check in. Receptionist told me room not ready and waiting time MAX 1hrs. OK, leave my luggage. Come back 1hrs later and was told by another receptionist the room will be ready in 2hrs. Does it sound ridiculous! The hotel should have inform me in advance if the check in time its at 6pm!!! So I don't have to go to the hotel at 3pm to just wait - Its a staycation and I prefer to stay home instead head down to hotel and unable to check in on time!!!! Lastly, I have stayed in Hyatt hotel all over the world but never encounter such bad service and the bed it is super hard to even sit on!!! Would not recommend anyone to stay at Grand Hyatt Singapore.

The hotel staffs was friendly, smileys and attention to details especially when they make an effort to greet my 4 years old daughter.

Breakfast was ok. View menu online and order thru the staffs.

Swimming pool was empty and nice to enjoy long hours with my daughter but the walk up and down the stairs was inconvenience.

Overall still great. Their room space for Deluxe King was spacious with a living room space area.

Too many small details kill the 5 star experience. From a check in that took an hour (despite being a late check, alone at the counter, and having sent an email about timing), a smelly room, the stains on the uniform of the in-room dining staff, the items missing in the in-room breakfast, the minibar not being refilled and a staff that does not even look at you at check out... I felt more like in a 3 or 4 stars tourist hotel. I guess it is the period of the year...

Pros:
1) Fantastic front desk, housekeeping and room services. Friendly and professional regardless where we went within the property. The concierge treated the all the guests with great welcome, even the kids.
2) Love the hotel frankly even if it was an aged property. Well kept and well maintained in terms of cleanliness.

Cons:
1) Probably one off issue, the room had electrical issues. What seems like a switch and lighting problem may possibly be wiring problem. It's not so much of the problem itself but the sense of security that there may be an underlying safety concern should it be a wiring issues.
However, KUDOs to the hotel professional handling of this issue even when it was first discovered on the first day at night. They had immediately sent up an engineer to check on the issue.
2) The swimming pool is quite a distance to reach but it has great landscaping surrounding which makes us feel like we are at a resort and not in middle of Orchard Road.

- No personnel to welcome guest & assist upon entry through the door. Didnt know where to head to for check-in..counter was allocated away from the main area. Not a pleasant way to enter a hotel where no one greets..

- No complimentary lounge area was suggested by the staff when we couldnt check-in on the promised time at 3pm. Until we ourselves asked for it 10mins passed the check-in time.

- Not enough sitting area was at the lobby area, how do we then wait with our heavy bags/items..

- The interior of the hotel room was quite old,wooden beds/walls etc. (we booked the 2-bedroom suite), no TV in the 2nd bedroom.

During both times, when we called, we couldn’t hear the other receiver very well, so we tried to keep the convo short & feedback our problem.
