The staff is very courteous and the check in is fast. The only thing that i gave 4 stars instead of 5 is the air conditioning is not cold enough. Singapore is a very hot country and AC must be cold enough. Location is great which is close to Plaza Singapore where you can go for shopping and enjoy lots of food.

Close to mrt and shoppings. Overpriced I believe. $20 per person for breakfast. Go to the Toast Box in Central Point and you will have a feast for less.

Both rooms spotless, and staff went out of their way to make stay enjoyable, .... not quite so much for the person who had a 'medical experience', and for whom the staff did so much.

They guy in the 'hotel shop' was friendly, versatile, and knew just about everything, as was the Security Officer Syed and Banu, duty manager. Great credit to them also

not forgetting at all the man on the counter, I failed to get his name, but he has the best hairstyle, and dress 'smoothness' I've ever seen, button down cuffs and all. Completely unflappable.

It’s my first time stay here. I am travelling with my 2 yo baby, the amenities in the room are full equipped, decent enough for 2 nights stay. Love the heater and easier for me to prep milk for my baby and refill hot water. Clean bedsheets, pillow and towels. Front officer, concierge, cleaner lady are helpful and kind. This hotel located in strategic location in Orchard, easier walking distance to MRT and shopping malls near by. Definitely will have my next visit for my family trip or business trip 😉

I rarely write reviews, but this hotel experience was so terrible that I feel obligated to warn others.
From the moment we stepped into the room, it was obvious how outdated everything was. The furnitures were dusty, and the whole place felt neglected. For a room booked for three people, they provided only two towels. When I called to request an additional towel, the lady on the phone rudely told me, “We only provide two.” After I reminded her that three of us checked in, she very reluctantly said she would give one but made it clear they “don’t normally do it.” The tone alone was enough to make me feel like I was inconveniencing them.
It only got worse. When I checked the pillows, they smelled bad—definitely not washed or fresh. I asked reception for clean ones, and after some time a lady brought two replacements. When we tried returning the smelly pillows, she even asked, “You can’t use these pillows ah?” I told her plainly that they didn’t smell clean. She then said, “Go ahead, check this one,” referring to the new pillows, as if we were being difficult for expecting basic hygiene.
Our first night was unbearable. The air-conditioning barely worked and the room stayed uncomfortably hot. On top of that, my husband and I kept waking up because our bodies were itchy from the sheets. It was impossible to rest.
We had paid for three nights, but the conditions were so bad, unclean, and uncomfortable that we ended up booking another hotel just to escape this place.

Great location close to Orchard Road, shops, food and transport.
Our room was dated and a little run down. Had to call maintenance to fix the drain in the shower and leaking toilet.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely cleaning staff.
Water filer and heater was a nice touch. Nice view. Loved the super cold air con and having a fridge was appreciated.

The room was perfect, especially the airconditioning. The beds were comfortable, and room was clean and tidy.
Reception was also very nice.

If any comment : The pool was very nice, but all the airconditioning units were on the roof, making a lot of noise in the pool area. So much you could hardly hear the other person speak. Thst was a little dissipointing.

WORST HOTEL STAY OF MY LIFE!!

DO NOT STAY HERE! $450 per night for a disgusting, filthy room with soiled sheets with obvious stains from previous guests and mould growing on ceiling, window frames and walls. The window was painted shut so not ventilation either. We complained to management immediately on arrival in our room and they just shrugged their shoulders. Didn't even offer to change the sheets! Our very young baby became sick over night with trouble breathing so the next morning we asked for a refund of the second might so we could leave. Management refused and told us we could leave a bad review.

Absolutely no care at all and no empathy. Hotels.com were also very disappointing. Promised to help with a refund due to misinformation and misleading photos but then said 'the hotel refused so there is nothing we can do'.

The room was clean and bed was comfotable. The check-in staff and the cleaning maid were very kind and friendly and very helpful.
The breakfast restaurant in the morning was a bit loud and chaotic. The layout and the queues for the breakfast food has room for improvement. Overall i enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to others as a a pleasant stay at a reasonable price.

The two people I dealt with at check in were lovely but, I checked in, went out, had to re check in because they lost it. Elevator very rough, scared it would stop with me in it. Pool!! OMG!! Not relaxing at all. The air conditioning motors for every room on that side were four feet from the pool the entire length of it and so incredibly noisy I put my headphones on full and could still hear them. The rooms are not noise proof and the people of a certain nationality have no respect for anyone in the middle of the night. Also, pretty sure it’s in the “RED LIGHT DISTRICT” which they could have mentioned on the website.
No wifi at the pool. Not that you’d hear anything as the aircon motors for all the rooms in that side are literally next to the pool. So noisy . Not relaxing at all.
Tv won’t work properly, can get the few Chanel’s that are live and even then it’s only The News from Asian or American countries.
Bath is tiny and hard to get in and out of unless fit. Very slippery. Almost slipped over. Who uses a bath when you’re away anyway. Shower is easier.
Air-conditioner is good
Hot water for the tea coffee is lukewarm. They spent good money on a hot water unit instead of electric jug and it doesn’t even work.

Its on Orchard Road is the only best option of the hotel's excellent location, apart from that hotel is old, utilities are not in good condition, bathroom door is not properly working, water dispenser not working.. working girls around the area use hotel toilet in reception area & v.dirty usage.
At least the beds are clean & l give credit to housekeeping for that.

The property is nothing fancy. The room was ordinary. Only gave us 2 creamers and 2 tea bags in the room which is not enough for people like us who want hot drinks in the afternoon, evening and breakfast time. There is no nice lounge to relax in. No breakfast is provided.

We booked this room before leaving the airport
When we arrived they said they had no booking even though we had the confirmation from wotif.
The hotel would not check us in … after 2 hours they said they would check us in if we sign a piece of paper saying that if the confirmation didn’t go through we would pay x amount … $55 more then wotif.
It was 11:30 at night by now and we had been flying 9 hours before so we agreed Management said for our inconvenience they would give us free breakfast .. thank you we said…The luggage trolly had our luggage on it in the foyer but the luggage guy would not take it to the room for us … he said we could take the Tilly with us but needed to bring it back down once we were done … we did not take it back down …. we went to our room and contacted Wotif … Wotif did all they could and finally rang the hotel and sorted it all out … it was 1am by this stage …. The hostel then rings our room and said yes we got your confirmation so now the complimentary breakfast was cancelled …..We couldn’t believe it !
The room was very tacky bed was hard tv didn’t work no complimentary water and you had to step up and over a large bath to get into the shower that had a nozzle you had to hold as it would not stay in the holder and there was mild in the shower.
in the morning we found an envelope under the door saying that a complimentary breakfast was now available to us again ….
We could not get out of this hotel quick enough ….

One Nights stay

After booking a nights stay at Hotel Chancellor i felt a bit aprihensive after reading some reviews.
So here is my opinion.
The hotel checking staff were lovley, friendly and helpful. Yes the hotel is a bit dated,, and she has a few battle scars for her age, but don't we all? 😁 The room was clean and comftable, Aircon worked excellent. The shower had GREAT preasure. Free Wifi works well.

if you want a modern, renovated hotel, expect to pay more.
Hotel Chancellor is all you need for the price you are paying.

Location is convenient with lots of shopping, food, and public transport options within walking distance. However, the hotel itself is quite disappointing. There was a weird stench in the room once I opened the door. I found a piece of hair on one of the pillowcases. I left my carry-on sized suitcase with the concierge during check-out and was given a tag to claim it later. When I arrived again in the evening, there was no one at the luggage counter, but my suitcase was left unattended in front of the counter. I helped myself to my suitcase, sat in the lobby for 10 minutes and no one even asked about it. I couldn't help but think that anyone could've walked in during the day and walked out with my suitcase. Needless to say, I'm quite disappointed with my experience at this hotel.

This hotel is ideally located just behind ritzy Orchard Rd and the location is fantastic. For its price, the amenities were adequate but the management is clearly scrimping on staff. There was a bottleneck during check-in where I had to wait for 20 mins or more. This has never happen to me in the 30 plus other hotels I have stayed in Singapore. Since the hotel does not allow early check-in, the bottle-neck occurred when a mass of new patrons all attempted to check-in between 2.30 and 3.30 pm. This problem was compounded by the fact that there only two check-in staff when there should be twice that number. This is an old four stars hotel but the service (through no fault of the staff but management) is closer to two stars.

- aircond is not cold eventhough adjusted to 16 and high
- shower head is tilted, doesnt straighten up
- light bulbs above bed needs fixing. 1 of it flashes throughout the night when the switch is off

Slow during check-in with 5 stuff at the reception counter but only 1 entertained with 1 customer at that time. Was standing there for 5-10mins but no one seems to bother😬. Check out early morning also same, even with only one stuff on duty (1 to 1). Toilet bit of smelly on day one due to maybe not wash properly.

The good thing about the hotel is its central location. Despite being slightly old, the room can still be considered comfortable and value for money, considering its location.

However, I have serious issues with the staff and services, namely:
- The lack of shower gel; and
- The lacklustre attitude of the staff.

First, housekeeping did not ensure that shower gel was topped up. Second, when I realised there was no shower gel in the dispenser only at midnight, I was informed that housekeeping knocked off at 9-10pm, and there was nothing they could do except provide soap bar for me. Third, after I voiced my displeasure of not getting what I paid for, the room service lied and said that shower gels were not provided in all rooms. This is not logical as there are dispenser in the shower room. Upon checking with the manager at the concierge, it was clarified that the room service staff had lied.

Hotel needs improvement in [1] allowing staff to have access to basic amenities when housekeeping knocks off and [2] conveying to staff the importance of good service, and importantly, do not lie or brush off guests.

Upon arrival the reception staff were lovely. We received a free upgrade to a room with a view and bath, which was nice. The only downside to the hotel was breakfast. Breakfast options were nice and inclusive but it would have been nice if they were labeled especially for people with allergies. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Good location but there are room for improvements, like part of the curtain has been unhooked & was not fixed, there’s no shaver provided. Towels are clean which is very good. But one day there’s no towel to put on the floor for the shower. The lady receiving calls for servicing when I dialled “1” didn’t sound to be very keen to serve & not too polite, sorry to say it.

The service in the bistro was utterly terrible. It was during published open hours. There were two wait staff on duty and no patrons. I was starving and ordered a chicken sandwich from the published menu. Thirty minutes later, both the wait staff had left and I still had had no sandwich, though the restaurant's published openi hours still had a half-hour to run. Pathetic. I let the bistro manager have a piece of my mind at breakfast thevnext day.
