Overall, the stay was reasonable for the price. The staff were attentive and helpful. However, I was surprised to find that the room had no window, as this was not indicated in the booking details. Is a VERY budget hotel. We had a room with no windows and the shower directly over the toilet. The AC constantly dripped onto the bed making it wet and difficult to sleep in.
We moved the bed away from the drip only for cleaners to move it back.
We put towels over the pillows as even though they had standard covering on them, the pillows underneath were disgusting.
As flooring throughout the rooms and corridors are all tiled. It was noisy.

On the positive side.
Friendly and helpful front desk staff. We were also able to store our luggage after checkout which was great.
The area itself is not brilliant but the MRT (trains - purple line) a few minutes walk away makes it easy and quick to get everywhere.

Tiniest hotel room I've ever seen. Very misleading as it's totally different from the pictures. There's literally no room to move at all. Just one tiny space to walk to the toilet and main door. The room temperature was too cold and it's not adjustable. I had to call reception twice to ask them to increase the temperature in my room. Very inconvenient. There also seems to be loud knocking sounds very early in the morning from 7am so my sleep was disturbed as well.

We had the family unit. The air-con sounded like a constant rain downpour, very noisy. There was a lot of black mould inside and around the air-con unit.
No windows in unit, which we thought a bit odd.

As a visitor you'll ask questions to local if not sure. Staff behaviour was very unprofessional and unhelpful.

Only reason I stayed there for the rest of my stay was convince of surrounding and dining options.

Worst part is I can’t even use the toilet of where my kids checked in, which I paid and booked myself, they arrived 9 pm so I have to book them another day ahead of us, as we arrive the following day, when we arrived at the hotel to drop off our luggage, and I need to go to the bathroom, unfortunately they don’t have a bathroom in the lobby
Customer service is the reception needs improvement, I understand this is not a high end hotel which I regret staying, however, they can do better than that, being polite doesn’t cost anything.

Would never recommend this hotel, the bathroom stinks, sewerage smell is strong

You get what you pay for but man there's no trade off in booking this hotel.Apart from the location which is not bad, everything else is horrible. Rooms dated, unsafe, bathroom is cramped and slippery, no windows, AC is noisy like crickets singing all night. Stay away from this property at all costs.

Very poor hotel. The pictures give no clue as to how tiny the room actually is. Was woken up by housekeeping at 4am, making a huge amount of noise cleaning the empty room next to me. (Despite not bothering to clean my room at any point in the previous 36 hours) This place shouldn’t really be on Hotels.com. It rents rooms by the hour and there’s a constant flow of people with their customers throughout the afternoon. Wouldn’t stay here again, would not recommend to anybody.

I thought we reserved an upgraded room. Got a queen bed and no window - but a giant, wall sized mirror to make the room feel a bit bigger. There is only 3-4 feet of space around each edge of the bed. It is also an efficiency bathroom where the room doubles as the shower - everything gets soaked. It was clean and felt safe. Noisy neighbors kept us awake into well after midnight.

When we got to our room, we realized very quickly that it didn't have any windows. This was a family room where 4 people were supposed to stay for 5 nights with no windows!?! And the bathroom was very small with the shower head hanging from the wall just above the toilet. I tried to get them to change us to a room with at least a window, but they told me that all the family rooms had NO WINDOW! We stayed one night and moved to a different hotel for the next four nights.

We were received by a smiling receptionist, thie first smile we experienced in Singapore, smiling is an encourager, welcoming and friendly.
The room itself is clean, the bed mattress is comfy, pillows soft and clean. The bed sheets are clean, crisp, top cover are of 3 layers with comforter in between, towels smell clean and thick, they change it everyday. The aircon is cold, rooms and corridors no smell.
When the room cleaner failed to replenish bottled water on our second day, one call to the reception and it was delivered. No tea and coffee too, but I did not tell them.
Still on the second day I was the last to use the toilet, before leaving I check the bowls and seat rims and they are clean, but when we returned that night there is a piece of hair on the seat rim, the room cleaner is not putting his mind on his work, lah. I believe the hotel is providing all the cleaning materials, even the cleaning soap I know is of good quality.
I will recommend this decent hotel to friends and readers and will come back again. Can!

Unpleasant stay..

When i got into the room, my first impression was how small the room is. With the amount i paid for it, i could get a bigger room at another place with a cheaper price. The TV was not functioning too. Called the reception & got the maintenance to come but couldn't fix it. In the end the staff gave me another room to stay. Not really a pleasant stay.

Hotel location near central city but not recommend

We booked family room but when we check in, receptionist said family room were fully booked and one of family room was under renovation.
They changed it with standard rooms but it were too small and our kids can't sleep together.
On that day we asked receptionist to change become family room if available.

The day after, we moved it to family room, room condition was ok but there was unpleasant smell from the toilet.
Not really want to recommend for traveler.

Works on a tight budget

The location is great. A bit further from metro, but close to bus and bikes and restaurants.

The hotel is overwhelmingly smoke infested. It smells so badly of cigarettes one can barely breath.

The room said we’d have a queen bed yet we only got a full.

Room service only provided one coffee packet, one water, even though there were two guests and I paid for two.

If you are only staying a night or two and can stomach the smell, have at it. But for the size and quality, I’d rather stay in a hostel.

Cigarette smell in the room and lobby

I am very sensitive to cigarette smell and thus I booked this hotel because it is smoke-free property. However, we smelt cigarette when we reached the hotel lobby. In the midnight, I could smell cigarette in the room also and I believed the smell came from air-con ventilation.

Please take it seriously as by law, it is illegal, and it could be very dangerous to smoke in the room or in the building.

overall ok. The staff let me early check in when there is ready room very nice and accommodating services compare to fragrance hotel. The only bad thing is room 608 air conditioning is not working ok and I requested 12 noon check out time the staff check out call non stop at 11:30 am which I very rude because I was at showering room. They even send room attendant for housekeeping to knock on my door non stop following the call. I think this can be improved not giving stress to in house guest. And can be less panicked to chase guest out before 11:30 am. But I love this hotel is because they allowed luggage storage for people who check out which I think all hotel or hostel should provide as a basic service. Lastly, for the early check in really please me to come back again. Compare to fragrance hotel at oasis they have luggage service and staff are more respectful to guest. I think they improve a bit. keep it up!

a bit expensive with limited requirement.

So so quality for the hotel with a higher rate than normal budget hotel does, also i found one black foot print on the white bedsheet. Check out time 11am with one serving bottle water when i book for queen room. Plus hotel.com charge me extra on a different price rate when i book. NOT statisfied overall.

They did not clean the room for 4 days. Just changed beddings & replaced toiletries.
Floor was always dirty. Cups were not cleaned. When we asked for extra water bottle, they told us that they cannot provide.
Staff was not very communicative.
We were going to be 1 hr late to check out. They asked extra charges of $15 per hour.
It was just money minting.
Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Convenient location, condition of room substandard

Close to taxi stand, MRT, but condition of room was not good. The room has no windows, the toilet constantly emitted an awful smell, the desk always had little bugs crawling around. We even found spider webs.
Hot water supply was limited. After one person took a bath, we had to wait for 10-15 mins before the next one could enjoy a hot bath.

This is an ok hotel for one night if you are really on a budget. We had heard that this hotel chain (hotel 81) has a bad reputation for illegal activity and several people said that we shouldn't stay there on weekend, especially 2 girls (thankfully we weren't). The room was tiny and very basic, with a wet room shower room but it was clean. I wouldn't recommend this unfortunately.

perfect location in singapore

Good room with only complain of ventilation, rooms looking smaller than picture, and only one free 500ml bottle for 4 people. Best thing is its location. 5 min walking to both Rochor and Little India MTR, and Queen bus station (in case you plan to visit Malaysia). Because it was close to little India it gave us the option of veg meals. For the bravehearts all the important Singapore tourist spots are in 2 km radius.
