Great location 1 minute walk to downtown metro station. Nice rooftop pool, excellent room with functional kitchen (freezer, oven, hob, microwave, toaster) and large bathroom with bathtub. Staff were great - fixed a problem with our fridge freezer within hours by replacing it!

The room conditions were okay, dated but okay however first time staying at a hotel that had ants. There were ants in the bathroom and ants in the living room. On top of that the bathtub was missing a shower curtain. Front desk staff was friendly. Another improvement would be the very hot elevator and hallway.

Stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment. A little difficult to find initially but a great location. 15 minutes walk to Bugis St and 3 minutes walk to Bencoolen MRT - and only 20 seconds in the rain! We bought a tourist pass and travelled all over. Apartment clean, quiet and well equipped - if just a little worn. Beds excellent. 1 bedroom en suite, other one next to the main bathroom so ideal for two couples travelling together. Breakfast was in the independent restaurant downstairs and was pretty good. We didn’t book ‘including breakfast’ but wished we had. Good value for Singapore

Good location for getting around Singapore. Our room in the hotel included a small kitchen area, lounge area, bedroom, bathroom and walk in closet. This facility was excellent, although there was minimal kitchen equipment available for self catering.
The roof-top pool was lovely and there was a small garden area and gym available.
The staff were very helpful and were particularly good with keeping our bags on our final day so that we could enjoy our wait after checkout and before we set off for the airport.
It was easy to use the MRT and we were able to travel from and back to the airport using it.

Nice for family that wish to stay together for the 2bedroom apartment. Did online check in and tried the keyless access. Quite a hassle when using the lift as the network is not strong enough. Nevertheless, its awesome as everyone has access via own mobile phone. Bencoolen mrt is right across the road. Pick up / drop off is also infront the hotel. Front office staff is extremely helpful.

I found the service apartment well maintained and the basic amenities provided have been well thought through. The front desk was also helpful and polite. It is at a stones throw away from Bencoolen MRT station and there are some very good food , grocery options within a 3-4 minute walk. I would rate these service apartments highly.

We stayed at a 2 bedrooms apartment. The apartment looked nice and clean. Both bathrooms are cleaned with very good water pressure. The beds were abit hard, but was quite comfortable.
The location was very good, close by to mrt, shops, shopping centres and easy to get around to other places by bus or mrt.
The staffs were friendly, attentive and helpful.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

It’s a very strategic locations for tourist to go to shopping and town area. Experience faulty bathtub, they send someone to unclog it and one of your Malay lady reception follow up on the condition the next day and get the technician to look into the matters. Housekeeping very good! They clean up the room very detailed and always change new bath towel! Very good job!! Should allow pets. 😊 This hotel should be rated 5 star hotel instead of 4 star hotel! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I was disappointed to only find out that the hotel was undergoing renovation AFTER I made full payment. Having a young baby with us made it difficult as the noisy renovation meant he wasn’t able to sleep. Also, you have to pay for your own parking.

Noted that renovation going on during certain timing. However, reno started very early at about 9am and the drilling was very loud to the extend that we can hear the TV. Throughout my 2 nights there, the fire alarm went off 5 times early in the morning. Not recommended for quiet stay in. Otherwise room size is big and location is good.

Staff were very friendly ,clean and very close to MRT. We stayed 6 nights paying $270.00 per night it included serving by cleaning,making beds,fresh towels ect.however the serviced apartment was not serviced on Sunday because they don’t work on Sunday but I was charged the rate of service.
I don’t think it is fair at all . Sommerser took the money but no service.
Please reply to this as I believe clients should be advised prior to booking or discount should be given.

Great location (Little India, Bugis street, Haji lane, Orchard road) are walkable if you can walk 200 m - 1 km, 7 min drive to Merlion or 1.8km walk, I even walked to Clarke quay (1.5km). Family premier room has kitchenette, proper 2 bedrooms, kitchen, hall and 2 bathrooms, room has awesome city road view and housekeeping comes daily and cleans / replace everything including complimentary stuffs. The only missing thing in the hotel is restaurant and on-call food. They have breakfast lounge which is only open to specific guests and breakfast is not even available on charge. Apart from food service, everything was up to the mark.

We stayed for 2 nights as transit from Europe to Australia.

There was an annoying periodic beep (every coupla minutes)
coming from a property supplied mobile phone in the bedroom,
so we unplugged its charger to stop that.

The TV picture quality was a bit sub standard for today but
there was a decent number and selection of cable channels.

Couldn't open the balcony doors or turn off the balcony light
(the switch was on the balcony!)

Starbucks, 7-11, Burger King, McDonalds all about 3-6 minutes walking distance. Definitely a good location and nice hotel to stay in. Gym 24 hours, swimming pool and did my own laundry as I was here for 2 weeks - very good hotel and good service. Wifi about 8-9 Mb so not bad. TV is bad though, come with Netflix on your apps - nothing but news channels.

I loved the location directly opposite an MRT station (and one with easy access from the harbour and to the airport). That its an apartment hotel so more space than a hotel room and for no extra $. Really good Wi--fi. Friendly staff. A complimentary continetal breakfast but with an egg dish and 2 or 5 other hot items each day. A rooftop pool that operates 7am. to 11pm and also a jacuzzi which is a great way to cool down after a day out in singapore's humidity. good air con in the apartment. The decore reflects the age of the property but its well maintained and clean.

The check in was efficient, we arrived early and were able to store our luggage until closer to the check in time. Staff were very helpful in every way. The apartment was very comfortable, the light curtains could be upgraded as they looked a little tired, but not complaining just observed this and the vanity bowl had a crack, but all else was fine. We were happy to stay at Somerset Bencoolen, staff were very attentive to our needs. The location was good for tourists, we could get a taxi right outside the accommodation, which was good. We would recommend Somerset Bencoolen for travellers. Breakfast was fine, there was a small accident that occurred before we arrived for breakfast, where a young boy knocked a container holding oil, near the pancakes container..... and breakfast room was closed due to the fire extinguisher being used. It was a simple accident, staff were very good to work quickly to clear the area. The service was good all around. Thank you.

Nice Reasonable Apartment in a Great Location

Location was great near the train stations and there’s lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. We could walk to Petronas Towers and lots of places conveniently. The staff was very cheerful and whenever we needed anything, they were happy to help and accommodating. Not sure if the continental breakfast was included with the room or for all room price levels. When we checked in, the woman at the desk said that they don’t have any breakfast, but I noticed guests going to breakfast on Level 5, I think. Not a big deal since the reviews of the continental breakfast weren’t spectacular and we like going out to new places for breakfast anyways, but it was strange that we were told that they don’t offer breakfast. I can’t comment on the food since I didn’t experience it. The apartment was nice and spacious nice and clean. Took a little bit to figure out that both A/C units were controlled by a remote, but it kept the place nice and cool. The TV took awhile to figure out how to use since it was cable. Too bad it only has a few channels. There’s an instruction book in the room explaining how to use all the appliances and remotes which helps a bit. The apartment had all the comforts of home and the bathroom was spacious and had all the supplies needed. My wife slipped in the tub and fractured her neck. She should have used the provided bath mat. It might have saved her a trip to the hospital. The apartment was cleaned daily well and we would stay there again since the rate was great.

The location was fantastic, across from Bencoolen MRT station, and there was also a bus stop in the street. The Deluxe 1 bedroom apartment I was given on the 10th floor was large and comfortable.

I emailed before my stay and received a prompt reply advising that no cash deposit was required on arrival. I don’t use credit card so wanted to be prepared.

It’s decor was fine, slightly dated. I had researched beforehand so knew what to expect. Staff I encountered were friendly. Housekeeping came promptly each day which is appreciated. The bed was large and comfortable. Kitchenette had the basics I need to make snacks/lunch. Tea and coffee supplies and bottled water were replenished daily.

The swimming pool on the roof was nice and I had several relaxing swims. A couple of times there were guests with suitcases open and clothing spread out on sun loungers at the pool area. Looked a bit untidy and they took up several seats with all their luggage. I assume they had arrived very early and were allowed to camp out up there, or had checked out and were using the facilities for a later flight.

Breakfast was fine each morning. Options changed almost daily in the 6 nights I stayed. I didn’t find it too crowded in the breakfast area, though several families were there. The outdoor terrace area was nice for people to have their breakfast. The coffee was nice, with lots of choices. All the basics of a light buffet breakfast were available.

Arrived at 12midnight. The doors are locked. Lights were out. Buzzed to get in. They said they closed the door at 11pm. Got in the room. Tried to plug my mobile phones but all the power points are Singapore style. Went to the reception and asked for the adaptors. They said there is none and suggested to go to 7-11 to buy one!
Shower is way too weak. There is hardly any view to enjoy. Middles of the city but there is no pubs and bars around.

I want to extend my thanks to the management and staff when our plans went awry when our son suffered a perforated appendix enroute from Phuket to Singapore. They could not have been more helpful.

While only some of us checked in, we found the 2 bedroom unit with living area was very spacious. The bathrooms (1 en suite, 1 main) and kitchen were nicely renovated. Beds were large and comfy (on the firm side). The furnishings were dated however. Be sure to check out the roof top pool, gym and bar (we saw them for a few only minutes with all the turmoil - but they looked great.)

For a family, you cant beat the size (premier room). 2 bathroom, 2 bed. Balcony and kitchen. MRT (bencoolen) directly across the road. Taxi stand out front, bus stop and tour group pickup across the road. 10-15 min walk to a major MRT (dohby ghaut) interchange. Good selection for quick, easy restaurants withing 2-5 min walk. Staff were excellent! Some other people have said the rooms are a little dated, yes. But the size makes up for it. Small kids play ground on the rooftop as well as a kids wading pool and spa/pool or the grown ups. 7-11 and some other small supermarket chains across the road or behind the building for convenience. Lunchtime checkout which was great also. They have a laundry room and are walking distance to major markets and museums also. My family would absolutely stay here again without hesitation. Thank you staff for a fantastic stay!

Very old property not worth the money. Staff was not very helpful. No house keeping service on weekends. Hygiene is a concerns. I found hair on the bed when I arrived the hotel. The air condition was bad. I found a dead mosquito with blood on the wall in the bathroom. The guest bathroom do not hv ventilation and no exhausted fan. The hotel should not rated at 4 star, it should rated 3 star hotel.

It felt like home. At home everything isn’t high end luxury, but it all works and is comfortable. The Somerset is no different. It’s worn in a couple of places like my house. I don’t get new fresh towels everyday just like at home. Perfectly fine accommodations. Most importantly it has working AC, comfortable beds, and is quiet.

The hotel is also close to a number of different sites in Singapore. Walkable to various areas and a quick, simple, metro (MRT) ride to many others along the blue line. For the size, the kitchen amenities, and the price it would be hard to beat.

Breakfast disgusting. Pool surrounds very old and only a few sun Lounges. Needs massive renovation. Light in bedroom illegally connected, two balcony doors would not open and room not serviced on Pinluc Holidays. Limit with towels and we had to take OUR OWN dishes off table after breakfast. We are on holidays!!! Dreadful place.

The two bedroom apartments have only a king sized and queen bed configuration. We asked for two singles when we booked online, not realizing this. Teenage sons didn’t love sharing a bed, but other than that the apartment was great and we would stay here again

I booked to stay here for 4 nights with my wife and 3 young children. It's location (central to meet and CBD) and the pool were the highlights. The actual room was comfortable

The room is large and comfortable. The kitchen is practical. Aircon is cool.
Nothing to complain.
