Staff excellent , a special mention to Maria from security who took extra care of my 81 year old mum and Sharine from the restaurant . Very close to Dhoby Ghaut metro and Plaza Singapura . Good sized pool . Rooms comfortable and the gentleman from Housekeeping on our floor (10) very thorough and conscientious .

The property is professionally managed like any hotel. The premises are neat & clean. The location is very near to Dhoubey Ghat MRT station and Singapore Plaza.

The sanitary fittings in the bathroom need maintenance or replacement. The faucet handles and paper roll flaps come out in your hand sometimes when using.

It’s a family stay-cation for this trip since pandemic is still restricted to most of countries.
We were happy and really enjoy staying at the pool for swimming and water fun. Have a walk to the Fort Canning Park is pleasant.

The property was a very pleasant surprise. We liked both of our rooms which were on the 12th floor with spectacular views over Singapore and Fort Canning Park. The location made it simple to get to anywhere in Singapore either by MRT or bus. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful from the front desk right through to the restaurant. There is some mould in the bathrooms as mentioned in other reviews but it is hardly a major problem and I have seen far worse in much more expensive hotels. My only negative is the fact that there are a lot of school groups staying here which can make it noisy but this didn’t bother us in the room at all. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and I would definitely stay here again.

Very clean hotel in a good location. Large rooms. Great air conditioning. Hot water in shower is great but only temporary so don't take long showers. Only large towels provided so bring your own wash cloths. Cafe on first floor. Friendly and helpful staff. 5- minute walk to local transportation(MRT ).

Excellent location a 5 minute walk from major transit center, Dhoby Ghaut, with amply shopping and food. A short MRT ride to the beautiful downtown area. Room had gorgeous view overlooking Fort Canning. Rooms were clean and comfortable, if a bit spartan. Excellent value for money. Staff is friendly and accommodating.

Nice, affordable hotel that is comfortable. The bathroom toilet seemed to take awhile to flush. The hotel room and bathroom seemed alittle dated compared to more modern hotels. There is a nice large pool but didn't have time to try it out. Its a very good and affordable hotel near the museums and bugis street market and plenty of restaurants. It is close to the MTR and large shopping mall. Taxis are not necessary in Singapore since the city is small and the MTR is very fast to getting everywhere.

Not a bad place to stay. Eateries and shopping not to far by foot. Can't comment on the onsite dining as I chose to eat near-by. The facility is a bit dated, but in good condition. However, there is construction going on next door and it is on all day and night. Not a good place if you are a light sleeper at the moment.

The price is so affordable. The Location is good. From airport, there’s a shuttle bus to the downtown in Terminal 2, it costs $9 / person. From Fort Canning Lodge to the airport, if you’re with your family, better use grab because it’s cheaper than the shuttle bus. Or you can go to airport by MRT. This lodge is near The Dhobby Gaut Station (the central MRT’s station = transit station i guess because it connects with many loops) You can walk to this station.

Oasis in Singapore

I booked a one night stay as a break in a journey back from Australia. The Fort Canning Lodge was ideal for me: quiet, spotlessly clean, very central, and with friendly and efficient staff. I can recommend it unreservedly. I might add that I am in my eighties and travelling alone to see my family in Australia, and I found this break in Singapore made travelling much easier.

The hotel's location is very convenient, right in front of Fort Canning Park, inside the YWCA building. The staff is friendly and helpful. Just a few meters from the National Museum of Singapore and a couple of blocks from the Bencoolen Station (5 mins walking).

Our visit this time to Singapore is not for shopping and we therefore choose to book the Fort Canning Lodge, close to Dhouby Ghaut MRT station which still enable us to around easily and the Fort Canning Park for our daily morning walk. The room, although a bit small, is efficiently designed. The airconditioner is too cold although we set it at 30 C and with the blower at it's lowest. The window needs a cleaning.

Location ok, about 10min walk to MRT, but consider that it is very hot and humid, so the short walk is not comfortable.
Room is large but dated. The drain in the bathroom was directly connected to the sewer, so the bathroom was always stinky.
Budget price coincides with budget amenities.

Aircon not working. Compliment to the technician who came very late in the night to fix.
Pool has only two towels left.
Reception check in staff was kind to grant us late check out at 1pm the next day but the next day reception staff called to hasten us to check out by noon at 1130hrs. It was terrible for her to tell me “I have someone to check in later, can u check out by 12?” After reading the remarks on the system. Counter staffs didn’t handle and take over efficiently. However the men at the counter in the night down quite good job.

Location is convenient and quiet, within short walking distance to MTR and Orchard Road. Good air condition system. Room is spacious and quite clean. Seems they were short of towels because only 2 bath towels for 2 people were provided, no other wash towels for freshing up. Front desk and security were helpful to let us storage luggage until check in at 2 pm.

It's nice to be back. I've stayed in YWCA Fort Canning Lodge during my 1st trip to Singapore and I have good memories.. The hotel is near the center, walking distance to plaza singapura where you can shop & dine. It's also near dhoby ghaut xchange mrt station, just a few 100m to the museum and park. Very nice location, though the hotel needs refurbishing and improvement in its services most especially that a Park Mall is being built beside it. I'll be back and would most likely recommend the hotel to my friends if they're on a budget.

Room was spacious but very basic. It is adequately cleaned. However, the central aircon system was the worst thing of all. It emits a mouldy smell throughout. I just wanted to spend as little time in the room as I could because I felt very uncomfortable with the smell. It’s probably due to the fact that the building is old and things are not maintained.

Good value for money

The staff were all so helpful and nice and went out of their way to check us in as soon as possible after a 7am arrival from London. when we found our room had a generator outside they even personally went and checked another room to make sure it was quiet and then came and found us to tell us. This was the quietest place we have stayed in Singapore and although we turned off the air conditioning overnight it still didn't get too hot in the room.

5 minutes walk from Dauby Gaut MRT station and although there are building works going on next door they stopped overnight and we were given a room on the opposite side so we couldn't hear any noise. Swimming pool big and good. We had a buffet dinner one night at a cost of Sin$18 per person and it was good. Right next to Fort Canning park and it is only a lovely 15 minute stroll through the park to arrive at Clarke Quay. No complaints at all, Will stay there again when we go back through Singapore in January.

This is my hotel in Singapore; I have stayed there several times. I love the quiet location across the street from Fort Canning Park. The hotel has a large swimming pool good for swimming laps, and it is an easy walk to the metro and a fairly easy walk to Orchard Road. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The bathrooms are small, but that is a minor inconvenience.

Extra charges of S$3.21 for non-YWCA member???????

Hotel name didn't put YWCA (actually is YWCA Fort Canning Lodge). I needed to pay an extra charge of S$3.21 for non-YWCA member. BUT, there were nothing shown that it is a YWCA hotel & reminded me this extra charges. My booking showing that all fee had been paid. If I know it's FULL NAME is YWCA Fort Canning Lodge, I shouldn't book this hotel.

A very very basic hotel. Concierge staff were good. Other than that were all below average.

During check in, I gave them all the usual info such as email, phone, and most importantly, my credit card. When I checked out, they won’t let me leave until they can check the room, despite being told that I need to catch a bus to go to Malaysia! And there is no mini bar in the room that could incur charges. First time I encountered such hostility in 40+ years of international traveling. And the staff were rude.

location is not good. staff seems friendly, but it is a very dated hotel. We found dead insects/bugs on the headboard, which is very disgusting; made a complaints to front desk, but nothing happened. Has loud noise from nearby constructions day and night. Toilet has water problems, u can hear water dripping after flush, got to \"play with it\" in order to stop the sounds. Price is cheap, but it is not worth it to stay. Other hotels nearby are better choices.
Wound not recommend this hotel in Singapore.

Stayed at a room with two single beds. The one that I slept caused me whole body itching, but when I slept on another bed, the itching stoped. I’m suspecting the bed has bed bugs issue.
Besides cleanliness, the bed is also not comfortable.
It was a restless night for me. Definitely won’t be staying again.

Large comfortable room with window and wardrobe(not common in modern hotels in Singapore). Bathroom big enough for two which is also rare. All the benefits of an older hotel with none of the drawbacks. Clean throughout. Very good location, only a few minutes walk to Dhoby Ghaut MRT, the bus exchange with buses to the airport every 15 mins, and Orchard Rd . Friendly helpful staff. Highly recommended!

Irene, from the front desk, was super friendly from the moment I arrived till the day I checked out. It was nice to see a friendly, smiling face every day! The staff were overall helpful and friendly. The room was no-frills, but comfortable, with basic amenities. Being on the 10th floor, I had a great view of Orchard Road. The location was convenient with easy access to public transportation, shopping, and good eats. I would highly recommend this hotel!

We were supposed to use WiFi whenever we wanted in the room. The WiFi is allowed to be used by two services in a time, yet we were four in total. The last night was even a nightmare, the WiFi was too weak that only one person was able to access to it. How should the three other people do? I don’t think a hotel without a good accessible WiFi service is a good choice for anyone.

We stayed here for 3 and a half nights in early July 2018. The location was excellent. Very central with easy access to transport and comfortable walks to areas like Orchard Road and Clarke Quay. Staff were friend and rooms clean. Pool area was nice and located on the 3rd floor. Very good prices for Singapore and the location. Rooms fairly basic but clean and functional. A couple of minutes walk to Fort Canning Hill. About 5 minutes walk to Douhby Gault MRT station where you can get a train to just about anywhere on the island.

The hotel is very centrally situated with a short stroll the the train station, which we found the easiest and cheapest way to travel to most sights, because of the humidity in singapore the air con is on 24/7, this made the rooms, bedding and our clothes damp, resulting in head cold, and the bathroom a breeding place for mould, which we found to be inadequatly removed. Apart from this the staff, pool, and all other aspects of hotel were fantastic....and very secure..
