The air conditioning was very good. Shops and transportation were walking distance away. The MRT and buses were excellent and not expensive. The bed was very low which was difficult to her in and out of for my husband. Very cool design though with the shower being outside.

A very pleasant hotel in a really good location. The staff were friendly and attentive and couldn't do enough to help. The room was decent , in an authentic and quiet area, yet still very well connected and close to the city center . The best thing tho was the pool (open till 2200!) which was perfect for cooling off after a long, sweaty day in Singapore.

Negatives? The hotel does NOT offer breakfast just breakfast vouchers to be used either at BBB ( a local cafe with a decent range of breakfast options) or another cafe which offers the typical Singaporean breakfast experience..

Also the staff were, if anything, a bit over attending, cleaning our room while we were out at breakfast on day one, before id had time to safely store my SIM card, which then got lost..

They put me in a room with fresh paint on the door which is not dry. I have paint all over my hand, and my bag. They try to switch me to another room and the door lock is not working. The ground floor is under renovation and the floor is not done. Entrance to the Inn is not obvious and easily missed. There are lizards in the room as well

Fantastic staff, it is just of of the busy areas but public transport is very close and easy to use. This is not a big corporate hotel which is why we chose.. Nice we pool to cool down in. Staff were awesome. They have an ice machine with fresh water

Change the old locks please!

Overall, the service is fast and staffs are friendly. However, the locks of the room are old and a lot of visitors are banging their doors just to lock it. It can get rather disruptive to your sleep at times as you will hear your neighbours banging the doors. This happen especially on the rooms on level 1. I think it’s time to change the locks of the doors!

Very nice hotel given location and price. Staff were excellent. Room is a quite decent size for Singapore. Many Singaporean hotels around this price point struggle with humidity and mold in my experience; this hotel did quite well controlling this and maintaining the property in a good condition. Private bathroom was very good, but do bear in mind it is partially outdoor per the Balinese concept.

Loved the hotel location - away from the hustle and bustle of the central but still accessible to food and mall establishments in Orchard. The nature aesthetic also gives a serene vibes and good rest. Would be better if there's an in-house kitchen to serve breakfasts, but we appreciate the unlimited coffee vending. Also, thanks for the generosity of providing extra toiletries to my wife who was intrigued to the brand that you have.

Pool area was beautiful, room well maintained. Room did not get as cool as we'd like but that was due to the bathroom being outdoor which was ok. Overall a very unique place that my husband and I enjoyed. The reusable water bottles available for use was perfect and very thoughtful.

The description on the website and the photos are false and misleading. This ‘ motel ‘ is a backpacker standard not a boutique Bali style villa.
The place is noisy. You can hear bathroom sounds of the neighbours as the bathrooms are open to the outside. I had a neighbour who took a long shower at 1.00 am and enjoyed blowing his nose endlessly.
The place is for young travellers.

Can't complain much. Positives:
Staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
Location is perfect. Good walking distance.
Killiney Kopitam was absolutely delightful to each at. Very authentic and staff were great!
Bed was comfortable, room was a little small but cute.
No bugs.

Improvements that can be made:
Stains on towel and pillowcase.
Extremely noisy, you can hear absolutely everything. Possibly because doors have no 'sound proofing.'
Floor is just concrete, would be nice if it was polished concrete at least.
Blinds have a gap in them and you can see out into the street, also woken up with the sun. Curtains would be nice for some privacy.

You aren't getting a 4-5 star resort, it's a boutique hotel so can't complain. The pool is more like a pond that you can sit in, there's no swimming so ideal to relax if the humidity gets to you. Really enjoyed the location!

The hotel is clean and convenient location. The staff are very nice and helpful too. Very serene hotel. Beds are very comfy too. The pool was very nice but kind of dirty. The shower drains in both our rooms were also terrible. I would take a quick rinse off shower, and the water was still not drained 4 hrs later. Definitely needs fixing because it's kind of gross.

We used to stay at this hotel back in the 90's when it was essentially a big house with all the rooms being a bit different but always spacious and comfortable. Now the rooms have all the comfort of sleeping in a shoe box. The front desk staff was very friendly. The room service staff were not.

Picking a hotel in Singapore is very difficult but choosing the Lloyd Inn is not a good choice. There are a few good things about the hotel: the location is good, some good restaurants very close by, the price, the staff. However the good points do not outweigh the many bad points. The rooms are very small not really suitable for two people (and we were in a superior room). The bed is on a raise platform which can be tricky for those late night trips to the restroom. The cement floors although they may be in vogue were cold damp and dirty as was the small area rug. The outdoor shower although sounds exotic was anything but. There is a fairly busy street no more than 10 meters away from the shower and when using the toilet you can hear people walking on the nearby sidewalk. Not to mention, there is an apartment building overlooking the outdoor shower. The hot and humid weather in Singapore does not make for a comfortable bathroom experience. My stay at the Lloyds Inn was not a comfortable nor pleasant thus making my 3 nights stay in Singapore not enjoyable. Very sad cause Singapore is an awesome city and would have been much more pleasant in a comfortable hotel. I do not recommend the Lloyd’s Inn despite the many glowing reviews you read in Trip Advisor, lonely planet, etc. Choose a different hotel .

Swimming pool is actually a wading pool only. We know we are not staying in a 5 star hotel but it cost nothing for staff to be more friendly and welcoming. Stayed 4 nites and asked for extension to 2pm but was refused as had to pay extra and only able to extend to 1pm. Little things matter and affects our recommendation. For that 1 hr it left a bad feeling .

A pleasant stay.

A pleasant stay in a calm spot next door to a leafy small park. Right near lots of shops, but in a quiet side street, with its own garden and little swimming pool. The lift made it easy to access our room. We liked the bathroom partly open to the outside air. The aircon in the room was easily adjustable to our preference.

Very chic property at the heart of Singapore’s centre. Situated on the famed (or infamous Lloyd Road), this is an easy walk to the shops, cafes and eateries on Orchard and Somerset. Transit-wise, it is right smack in between Dhoby Gaut and Somerset stations.

Saying the hotel is clean would be an understatement. It is immaculate. The pool and the grounds make it look very trendy, but casual and not pretentious.

Our only complaint was that we were given the accessible room. That said, the bathroom situation was less than ideal. There were no shower doors. Instead, the whole bathroom, while spacious especially by Singapore standards, would become a giant wet room after each shower, even if one uses the handheld shower.

We had no squeegee or a mop, to clean the floors, nor should we expect to clean the bathroom anyway. It took a while for the water to dry up so waking up in the middle of the night to use the toilet, we slipped and almost fell more than twice.

There was also a slight leak from the bathroom ceiling.

The door to our room did not close easily. One has to pull it firmly shut, which we found to be ironic considering it’s meant to be a room designed for accessibility.

For those who might need this room, it might actually work. It’s room for 30.

The staff was apologetic and even offered another room and an upgrade to us.

Staff service was excellent. Check-in was a breeze. Provision of light breakfast at nearby ABC is a delight.

Drilling/ renovation work starts around 9am

The basic room i book is clean ans tidy.
But no windows (lower level). They do have a outdoow shower area.

But sound proof is non existent
Starting at 8am.. u hear housekeeping outside.
Drilling starts around 9 to 9.30am and it seems like they would continue till 12noon - which is checkout.

Was planning to enjoy a quiet morning.. but it seem like they r renovating the place.

Pretty sure no one would book a hotel room to stay so they can be woken at 8am n stay on to listen in to non stop drilling...

Great small hotel with modern minimalist design. Very close to Orchard Road yet feels pleasantly secluded. Staff super helpful.

Pool is just for Instagram- it is tiny - no gym. Only real complaint is that trying to watch Netflix on their TV is extremely frustrating- we gave up and watched on our laptop.

Overall am excellent staycation and we recommend.

Booked this hotel for birthday staycation. Some pros and cons to share.

Pros - a unique staycation as compare to normal hotel. Different concept. Love their slipper and friendly staff there being very efficient whenever we call them to request for something/help. My bf eventually manage to secretly email them and they prepared and beautiful written birthday card and a chocolate bar. Sadly they don’t provide decoration.

Cons-Have message them via Expedia and no reply at all even after 2nd chaser. Location is not convenient. Been raining non stop this few days. Can’t travel anywhere if you don’t have an umbrella. Hotel do not provide alternative like would suggest raincoat/umbrella or shuttle to nearby mall. No late check out allowed. Breakfast provided is not very awesome (a pastry and a hot beverage) is a coupon in a cafe located 5 mins down the street. Mosquito in the room, coil can be requested and have to self burn. Checkout lucky draw spin only entitle to booking made via direct website would be good if can open to all platform.

In conclusion is a nice place to try but wouldn’t come back again

Loud and Horrible Rude receptionist, NOT RECOMMEND

I booked a stay for three nights just to get some peace and quiet time away from home. Turn out I couldn't sleep through out the night because my room was right next to the cleaning room they kept banging the doors every 5 mins since 5 am in the morning. I then called the reception ask if possible to change room then they say it's loud because people are checking out. Then I asked please change the room for me then they kept saying \"No\". they were rude and extrememly ignorerant. I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here. I chose this place because it looks nice and tranquil but it was completely opporsite! so I forfeit the 500$ i have spent. What a waste of money. Highly NOT RECOMMEND.

Requested for a double bed 1 month and more before booking. But on the day itself, staff told me there is no more double bed but they pushed 2 single beds together. To me it is a huge turn off because they should be able to tell me this weeks before my check in.

Also I can't take a nice long hot shower as the hot water runs out after awhile.

Other than that, it is just alright.

Was disappointed that when I checked in, there was no double bed. Staff said they will push 2 single bed together. If they knew there would not be enough double bed, they should tell me in advance and not when I am checking in. To me this should be a problem that should be foretold weeks before I check in.

Also, I can't take a nice long bath because the hot water eventually runs out. But that is not a big issue.

Personally, for the price I paid,I can get a nicer room elsewhere.

It looks pretty and minimalist but it is basic and did not seem worth it for the price we paid. Room was a little musky and had 2 lizards, cleanliness was ok for the room but not great for the bathroom. Had lots of difficulty opening the doors to our room. The breakfast provided was at a cafe down the street and it was nothing to shout about - just a pastry and hot drink. Overall location is quite convenient.

Looking for a quiet getaway but didn't deliver

I live on Lloyd Road, but hopped over the street for the night to enjoy a sleep in (i have a very active 20 month old toddler, and just did my IVF transfer). The place and surroundings were beautiful for a limited service hotel. The mattress was a little too soft for my liking, but that wasn't the main source of my disappointment. I was unable to get a good sleep-in as there is very little soundproofing, and the housekeeping ladies were so extremely loud, rustling paper, plastic, banging doors and bottles together for an extended period of time - extremely frustrating! Wouldn't stay here if you are a light sleeper.

Very trendy small boutique Inn. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The plunge pool was great and surrounds were lush. Rooms were trendy if a bit small. We really loved the outdoor shower and nice robes. We stayed here in August of 2019 and it included free breakfast at Killiney Kopitiam Cafe. To be honest the breakfast was a joke. I'm not sure why people think this cafe is great. You get a very, very small amount of food. The hotel may have a new breakfast place now.

However, very noisy! Concrete floors, walls and the door latches are incredibly loud when you lock them. Had to pay for an upgrade which the staff said would stop the noise - it didn’t.

3 windows, only 2 blinds which meant that the light came flooding in each morning - not great when you’re jet lagged.

Overall very expensive for what you get. We paid £45 extra the next night at a different hotel and the experience was so much better.

Tasteful & friendly.

Tasteful basic concrete room with trendy semi-outdoor bathroom. Friendly extremely helpful staff. Great free coffee/milo machine in outdoor shared area. Attractive gardens with small pool. Close to shops in Orchard Rd & easy walk to transport/underground train stations. Only downside: Included cafe breakfast had minimal variety & not very appealing to western tastes, despite obvious popularity with locals.

Room Review

Minimalist style hotel with basic amenities. Clean room but wish that the doors can be fitted with “soft closing” or some suspension device as it is quite loud when you try to close the door.

The property is located on a quiet street, but only walking distance from Orchard Road. It is like a sanctuary. I love the natural looking and minimalist style.

I thought that the pictures shown about this hotel are very deceptive. I would not come back to this hotel.
The room is very small, the air condition does not work properly, the bathroom is outdoor right next to the street. I am very disappointed about the whole experience.

stayed In the big sky room to celebrate partner’s birthday. Staff especially gentlemen at check-in was friendly and professional. Name of partner was not asked and therefore card addressed did not reflect the name. Managed to pay for an upgrade to the big sky room from business room- nice outdoor bathtub but the shower in the tub wasn’t working. Room smelt like a medical ioniser, hairdryer wasn’t working intermittently and water supply at night was sometimes too cool even when heater was on.

Great location average hotel

My wife and I stayed at the Lloyd's inn and here are our thoughts:

Cons:
- House keeping wasn't all that great, for example - when we would opt for having the bed sheets changed, we noticed they weren't.

- Due to the hotel's set up in terms of exterior greenery, tall trees and plants, we noticed that there were some small ants on the table tops in our room. However, the ants did not crawl over the bed and only appeared to be near the edges.

- Room is reasonably sized for couples only, not suitable for children unless a family room is selected.

- Breakfast vouchers provided for a local cafe that is located 5 mins walk away from the hotel. Cafe only offers a selection of 2 French toast or bread and 2 boiled eggs with tea / coffee. We ended up not using the vouchers and opted to eat elsewhere.

Pros:
- Fantastic location , only 10 minutes walk to the main Orchard rd shopping district and Somerset MRT station.

- Very quiet area and peaceful.

- Internet speeds were great!

Down-to-earth Boutique

Do not come expecting a luxury boutique experience. Lloyd's is a more down-to-earth accomodation, albeit with a modern design slant. That said, a little wear and tear is showing although the quiet environs in the midst of the city is a very large plus point.

Booked this stay to celebrate my friend's birthday and she loves it so much. We had a great time just looking at the forest view and do nothing for the whole day. Thanks for the mini cookies from the staff, everything clean and neat. Highly recommended.
