I stayed in the building across the courtyard, and the problem really is the smell,
The corridors and room have a musky smell to them and you can’t open the windows.
Overall pretty dated decor but clean and comfortable beds. Definitely not a 4 star.

This hotel had a lot of funky charm, and we like that in a hotel. It is set in a pretty courtyard within walking distance of Little India and close to a metro station. The room, while on the small side, was clean and comfortable with the amenities we wanted. The staff were very friendly, especially the doorman. We would stay here again.

The staffs are really friendly and approachable! They assisted us well during the check-in and handled everything seamlessly. The room is clean, had all the necessities. It could be because it’s an old building, the number of power outlets are not that many. We had 3 pax and we could find 3 available ones which means only one each. Overall, it was a good stay. The location is convenient. A quick 3-5mins walk from the station.

The location is great with easy MRT access, making it very convenient. The room was on the smaller side and the bathroom/bathtub looked a bit worn, but overall the space was manageable for two people. There was construction happening right outside our room, but the noise was surprisingly minimal.

It’s a good hotel overall. We didn’t see much of the staff, but when we did, they were helpful and pleasant.

This was a great place to base myself whilst in Singapore, it's a short walk from Rochor MTR station. which made it ideal to get out and about to explore

The general decor was fresh, the bed was comfy and clean, their was a modern TV with a good selection of channels. Kettle and tea making facilities were adequate but the drinking the water from the tap did have a slight metallic flavor.

But look a bit closer and you start to see the place is looking tired. The exterior didn't seem as well looked after as the same building opposite, The furniture in my room was also scuffed and marked, the laminate flooring had suffered from some shrinkage so their were small gaps between boards, The bathroom needed updating, there was a stain in the tub and the sink was not clean when I arrived.

The staff were friendly and efficient so no real problems there,

With a bit of love this place could be 4 star as it says on the site, but I have to admit it was less Premium more 3 star Premier Inn

I am understand the supposed 200 sqft+ room in Singapore becoming tiny, but having a pillar go right through the middle of the room, occupying a third of the available space and creating a risk of a 'nasty bump' in the middle of the night is plain unacceptable. Still leaving some stars for the great staff and location.

I had a very pleasant stay at Village Hotel Albert Court. The location is excellent, just a short walk to MRT stations and right next to the Little India district. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and the hotel's heritage architecture added a unique charm. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. A great value for a convenient and comfortable stay in Singapore. Would happily return.

The hotel itself was fine - the room was basic, but clean and the staff were very nice. However, we found it extremely difficult to sleep as a bar in the square was doing exceptionally loud karaoke on a Monday night until 1AM. The room was not remotely sound proofed, as proven by being able to hear the bar most of the night as well as our neighbours in their rooms and in the hall.

Average Stay with Some Comfort Issues

I recently stayed at Village Hotel Albert Court by Far East Hospitality. The location is convenient, with easy access to public transport and nearby attractions. The staff were friendly and helpful during check-in and throughout the stay.

However, the room itself had a few issues that impacted my comfort. All four pillows provided were very high and not conducive to a good night’s sleep. It would have been better to have a variety of pillow options. Additionally, two out of the four electrical sockets were not working, which made charging devices a bit inconvenient.

Overall, the stay was decent, but the room could benefit from some maintenance and improvements to ensure a more comfortable experience for guests.

The hotel and employees were good. Quiet even though next to main road. 1 1/2 mile walk to Merlion. Easy to get Grab. Directly across street from Little India and Tekka Mall. The only problem was i booked room for two adults and child, two beds, but they said none were available and gave room with queen bed. Not good.

Check in was very professional. We were shown to our room by the desk clerk (manager?) who also mentioned we could shower and change in the hotel after we checked out. That was appreciated as we had a midnight flight on the night we checked out. Hotel was close to Singapore subway which is new and safe. Subway gets to most attractions.

Very bad experience with smelly and ugly rooms. The bteakfast we paid for it but we couldnt use it at all. Very bad breakfast - mostly indian food but low quality.
I booked a 30 sqm familly room and they gave me a 12-14 sqm room with smell of cigaretes and moisture. Manager was hard to accept the reallity i just described. Definitely not recomend this Hotel especially for around 200 $ per night

I have stayed in this property already few times, but I had a major issue with internet connection this time which was most important for me being on business trip. Hotel internet was not working properly all the time and this was not only issue with me but had seen many people complaining. However reception staff did not want to accept that there is indeed a problem and gave me a reply that previous guest in the same room did not complain about it and it is problem of my phone without knowing that I have 3 phones and 1 laptop and all of them were not working. I was astonished with response especially when I do not know the how important was internet connection for previous guest.

Hotel is in a good location walking distance to 2 MRT lines. Condition of hotel is decent, age is definitely showing but still kept nicely. WiFi was a big problem and could not use it entire trip. Street noise from construction was horrible in the morning. Staff was friendly and tried to help with WiFi but did not get a reliable WiFi signal for our entire stay.

Stayed for about 4 days. Minor issues like some electrical outlets not working, replenishing basic toiletries not regularly done. Little adjustments to adapt was not convenient for the short stay like notify room cleaning, etc. Though these concerns were taken cared of, there was the hassle. For its rates, it’s a decent place to rest and stay. Location is on a quiet and peaceful neighborhood.

A Lovely Hotel

A lovely Hotel in a good location, close to the Blue line MRT so easy to get anywhere. Our room at the hotel looked a little tired but that did not detract from our stay. Food in the rest was ok and the buffet breakfast offered a wide range off fare. Staff at the hotel were very friendly and were very helpful. The one downside was the pillows they left my wife and i with a sore neck as they felt quite to large and bulky, excellent for sitting up but not for laying down. Would look to stay here again on future trips.

Quiet well maintained hotel

I hadn't been to Singapore for quite a few years. I used to stay in the Albert Court back then. I was very impressed with the condition of all the public spaces and particularly of the room they gave me which was an impressive upgrade. The rooms on the premium side (across the court) must be recently renovated. The hotel is just across from Little India. In the other direction are several colleges and a few blocks further there are a number small of outdoor restaurants.

We had a great stay here. Great Location around Rochor MRT station, also near Little India and Bugis Junction, The check-in and out process was really fast. Many thanks to helpful and friendly staff and also Mr Jamal, thank you for a wonderful service and recommendation on what to see around. The cleanliness was superb and the room was very spacious. clean and comfy room with bath tub and all sets of amenities. What a lovely hotel! I liked everything about the place, from the colonial-style building and decor to the breakfast and very comfortable bed! The staff were very polite and helpful as well! Not a four star hotel! Mouldy and run down.

NOT A FOUR STAR HOTEL, more like a hostel. Room was NOTHING like the pictures. It was so much smaller. Worse than that, bathroom was mouldy, furniture was falling apart and the whole room had an odd smell.

Never leave bad reviews, but this hotel warrantied this. I spoke to the hotel staff, and showed them our pictures from Hotels.com compared to our room and they were unhelpful and tried to sell me an upgrade.

They tried to tell me that hotels.com use the wrong pictures and it’s nothing to do with them. The room pictures on their own website are also incorrect.

Impossible to make an informed decision if both the star ratings and the pictures are grossly misleading.

We paid £120 a night, and other hotels in the area offer a much better hotel for the same cost.

Our room was nice but it's a pity it was overlooking the courtyard which had many bars so was quite noisy. We did ask if we could move but they were full so couldn't do anything for us. The hotel was in an ideal location for us being within walking distance from the MRT station. The breakfast was good but it wasn't always ready at the opening time of 6.30am.

The location was probably the best part of the hotel. It was easy to catch either the Downtown line or the NorthEast line as the hotel was walking distance to both Little India Station and also to Rocher Station. The hotel itself was a little worn out and we knew it was only 3 stars so our expectations were scaled appropriately. The bathroom was worn out but clean and had good water pressure. The pillows were comfortable and the staff was friendly. However, the room we stayed in was above a KTV lounge and we heard bad singing all night from Thurs to Sat evenings. The sound insulation in the room was not great. Very hard to sleep. Breakfast was included and was ok, not the most tasty. Overall, it was a budget stay and we only wished the hotel was quieter or had better sound proofing as it was next to a main road and above a KTV lounge.

It is a central location. The place looks good with an air of old world (a lot of timber). It is very clean, good beds. Not as much coffee sachets or tea bags, and no milk, as we are accustomed to. Or cereal bowls or enough drinking glasses or cutlery. You can buy basic supplies from the deli in the courtyard. Not many tv channels to choose from. You can watch BBC news. Quite good- a place where having a big enough room is a luxury (space in Singapore is a luxury)
