We are extremely disappointed with how we were treated at the Orchard Hotel Singapore. Two separate Premier King room bookings were made: a one-night stay followed by a 3-night stay (4 consecutive nights). Upon arrival we were told there was no room for us and the hotel would send us to their sister hotel far from our preferred area (the M hotel). The front desk clerk made it sound like there was a problem with the rooms and they were unavailable for occupancy. We had to fight to get a room at the hotel. After a very long time (about 40 minutes at 3 am after a very long fight), it turned out that they gave our room away and just did not want to upgrade us to another room. This was totally unacceptable under any circumstance! In addition, the premier room we booked for the 3-night stay included breakfast, but we were told we would be charged for it. We feel we should be compensated at the very least for the breakfasts we did not receive.

Check-in : There were some groups arriving for check-in and some individual travellers like myself. There was no queue indication which makes difficult to know which counter. Informed the front staff and she agreed will guide the travellers for check-in. The next day when I came back to hotel during evening time, I still see the same scene.
Room : The room shower gives loud sound when turning to adjust the temperature.

We stayed at the 17flr, which is a Signature floor and we love the theme particularly the room and corridor decors. Rooms were always clean whenever we cone back from outside the hotel. The lobby always smells nice. Enjoyed using the tea and coffee maker every morning, so convenient.

Rooms were cleaned but not till very late early evening. Room was not well equiped for boiling kettle. Only power was on the floor in an inconvenient spot. Luggage rack was broken. Telephone didn’t work. Hot water not always available at night for showers. Internet intermittent and not available at all New Year’s Eve. No info in the room with regard the hotel or surroundings. I’ve stayed here many times previously and disappointed this time.

- I felt taken back when I was warned that driving licence will be accepted as a one-time and next time only IC will be accepted. I had always used my licence at Orchard hotel as my ID and a policy change could be told nicely and not a warning.
The couple next to be who was checking also went thru an ordeal and it was very irritating to hear counter staff nagging about ID matter.
- The shower mixer made very loud horning noises. It was deafening.
- Breakfast was overcrowded and with long queue. Some families had to be moved to another location where they had to walk a distance to collect food across the hotel lobby. Simply disappointing to see this from Orchard Hotel.
- Due to waiting time at breakfast, we did not get much time to pack. We requested a one hour later check-out over the phone to 12pm but was promptly rejected. I was boiling and to go down directly to the reception to request and was given the late checkout without any question asked.
Overall, this was a worst stay ever at orchard hotel. I always insisted on staying and always recommend my overseas customer to use this hotel. After this experience I am never going to use Orchard hotel again. I would recommend rendezvous hotel opposite.

The breakfast, I find it annoying that the hotel do not provide Pork Bacon for breakfast, Turkey bacon is not a good substitute as it has nothing to do with bacon, if it is done in respect for the Muslims then where is the respect for guests from the western world ?

The lighting in the room is very dim, except for the bathroom. Overall, I enjoyed my return stay at the Orchard. It was 9 years since I last stayed there, but I look forward to my next stay. Please provide more lighting.

At arrival there was a grumpy non engaging staff member and I didnt fell valued as guest. The room was ok but TV cut out frequently with extended pauses likely bad internet connection. Overall I would have been satisfied if your staff member at checkin would have made an effort.

A superbly located and presented Singapore Hotel --- our room was spotless -- the hotel foyer was not only spotless, it was sparkling and super clean. Hotel staff were attentive and effective. Th breakfast buffet was excellent. Check in and out was quick and easy, lifts were close to the lobby and the lift wait times were minimal.

Very strange Checking in. I had early checkin hotel approval (from 8am) prior to my arrival, however no room was available. A good news that receptionist provided an upgraded room.
I also asked receptionist to assist me with dental appointment as I experienced some problem with my tooth during my flight to Singapore, she advised that she will come back to me, however she never did. I asked other person who managed my suitcase and I received a great service- thank you to him.

Naveen cleaned my room and had to work around me whilst I had to work. He was not phased by my presence and just carried on with cleaning and tidying up. A good worker too.

The breakfast buffet has plenty of selections, and I specially like the wide array of pastries and dim sum. But I wonder why they never serve rice at all. I was assuming all Asian buffet would have rice on their buffet tables but there’s none.

Good location. Easy to get to. Beautiful lobby. Staff - check in was great, professional, respectful, polite; hostess at breakfast buffet also great, but some of the food station “chefs” were not polite and actually rude - omelet chef cut off my friend’s question mid-sentence; bar staff respectful and polite, but missed a drink order and had to redo; one of us wanted to buy a watch, but night front desk man was rude and said we had to check in am. Rooms were nice although WiFi did not work most of the first day. Just use the “public” wifi that is supposed to be for lobby area only one of the bell hops told us, so that is what we did. Shower leaked water, but room overall clean. We only stayed 2 nights so not a big deal. Breakfast buffet is discounted for hotel guests. First day was amazing. Second day not so great, actually underwhelming and made 2 of 3 of us have GI discomfort for most of the day. Might try another hotel if we return to Singapore since for the price paid, we expected more, esp the service.

The hotel is still a great stopover place. While dated it has been well maintained and remains a very good option for an affordable hotel in the orchard Road area. Walkable for all major malls in the area, near many great food and entertainment options. It remains my go to in that area.

Location is good. For Singapore hotel, room size was decent. The bed was firm and comfortable.

Every single sound is come into the room.
I made a reservation for queen bed but 2 single bed close.
The air conditioner is cool but the humidity is not under control. So my clothes and bed are wet.
For 5days stay, I requested changing room. But there are no rooms for me.
The breakfast was nice.

A major bonus was being able to check in and be given a room at 8am ( usually a fee but I was lucky and received this complimentary ) and to purchase late check out at 6pm Wonderful bonus when you arrive early in Singapore and depart just prior to midnight

While a bit of a walk from Orchard, this hotel is conveniently located within walking distance. The rooms are clean, and the staff are friendly.
However, upon check-in, bath towels and other amenities were missing. Housekeeping services end at 11 PM, so it was not possible to have them brought to the room after that time.

If you’re into shopping, and have the budget, this is the place to be.
Perhaps the house keeping staff require training about the “green” policies of the hotel! I don’t need my towels changed daily, and on a 4 night stay, the sheets will be fine!
Great location for food, drink, and shopping at a variety of price points.

A downgrade from when I stayed precovid

Stayed here way back 2017 and 2018. Comparatively the standard has dropped a lot. Despite its eco-friendliness there's no longer any bottled waters but desalination water from the bathroom into the room machine. I would not touch desalination water at all and even my friend's dog in HK would only drink Watson's bottled water and boiled water for humans. My own home water is filtered even in Australia and boiled despite most people drinking from the tap. Ended up going to level 4 to fill bottled water from the gym.

Interesting the AI assisted alarm/room service etc, getting the front desk was troublesome and housekeeping just told press the emergency call.

Pro. Nespresso which is pretty standard in hotels I stay.

The hotel was fine & met all my needs. The lobby is beautiful & the breakfast was fantastic.
I was disappointed with check in being so slow & the general condition of my room. The bathtub was chipped & had multiple scratches, the bed sheet has a whole in & the finishing of the paint work was a little shabby. Good local for use of public transport.

For the price of the room, I was at least expecting bottled drinking water, that coulda saved me a trip down to the shops.
The hotel provided shampoo conditioner and body shower liquid soap. But left out the hand and body lotion.
Overall, not worth the what I paid for the room.

A mixed experience here. There was no working shower gel or shampoo in room and no drinking water. Otherwise room was okay.
At breakfast western guests were being seated in an “annex” in the foyer. Even though plenty of room in restaurant. The food was ok though and the pool is big.

Orchard Hotel is very conveniently located to the major shopping district and close to the subway station. It was very easy to get to major attractions from the hotel. If we needed anything, they were very prompt in addressing it and the housekeeping staff were very friendly. Just a couple of things i) I am not sure if I liked the \"AI generated\" call system ii) the bathroom (especially the toilet) was a little outdated but it was all right. Overall, it is not always easy to find a hotel that can accommodate a family in one room, so this was a great find.
