No screen on my window.. bugs were coming in. One would expect to be able to open a window at the beach. They did move me to another room. Great view. My shower in the morning lost all hot water. Staff explained maybe to many people were showering. Hot water never came back on. I got out cold. Nice surprise in the morning.

The bathroom was small, almost hit my head everything i used the restroom. The screen was rip opened, it was very warm in there. The two things I liked about it mostly, was the big windows to the beautiful ocean, and the bed . Also the pet section was nice.

Our room was cold the whole time as we had a broken heater they did not replace or have fixed right away when we discovered it. Also, they knew our room had a problem with the circuits popping and we lost power twice! If this room had so many problems guest should have never been put I. It. I think we should have been moved to a new room or given a refund as we had to endure these things for the weekend as we could not get smoother room elsewhere. And we should not have had to either. We will never go here again the stay was terrible and miserable as we were cold the entire time.

We thought we had reserved a cottage, turned out we had a room in the hotel portion, the view was wonderful, the room was clean but tired, the kitchen was old, I think the stove was older than me and I’m old, the entire property could use a refresh. The staff were pleasant and accommodating. This is a no frills, great view property, with an easy walk for beach access.

This is the worst experience in my life for a hotel or motel stay!

I recently booked a non pet room from Ester Lee Oceanview Inn to see the beautiful sunset by the Pacific Ocean. When we entered the room last evening, there’s strong odor of pets urine everywhere in the room. We talked to their front desk for a change, but were told they’re booked up and no room was available. Actually we found afterwards the adjacent rooms were vacant. It’s late and also I paid fully online. I thought it was not refundable, so we had to stay.

The room was terrible. Carpet was stained. Kitchen floor was sticky. Bedding sets were so dirty that they looked like grey instead of its original color of white. The towels were not clean. So were the other items.

We all slept over the night with clothes on. It’s like a torture every minute we were there. In the early morning, we escaped, but the odor came with us all day long until we took the bath completely at next hotel tonight. We sealed the clothes we had on last night in plastic bags, and they should be washed ASAP.

It’s like a nightmare and it ruined the vacation! Totally terrible and disgusting. We’ll never go back to this place again. Be cautious on their good reviews. It would be their past, but things are totally different at least for me for now. My opinion is that don’t do a bad choice like us that would regret you for many years.

Watching whales from my room was the best part of the stay. Last day of my visit I saw a Doe and 2 fawns outside my window on a small trail towards the beach. The room was amazing and spacious. My back loved the pillowtop mattress. The only part that I didn't like was the steep walk down to the beach and back up. Definately going to come back next Vacation.

The view of the ocean was the one redeeming quality of this motel room! The worst thing was the bed!!! The bed was probably from the 70’s, incredibly lumpy and old!!! The heat lamp and fan in the bathroom didn’t work! We tried to cook a pizza in the oven and the oven didn’t heat up!!! The 2 chairs to lounge on were old and dirty!!! It was a terrible stay!!! Couldn’t wait to go home! Our room was room 111! Will never use Ester Lee motel again!!!

We love the location as it is right on the beach. We’ve stayed there many times and it has always been very clean. The motel is older and therefore the rooms are too, but again they are clean and comfortable. We were disappointed for the first time with this latest visit. The blinds were too old in the bedroom and main room. Part were bent and one window blind was broken and hung slightly down with only one corner of the blind that would lower so it was lopsided. The fridge is old, but worked. But, the left side of the fridge that was exposed to the kitchen was all scraped up. It looked horrible. We were shocked they rented that room.

We did the jacuzzi room with living room. We loved the view, had beautiful days, and the room was stocked with everything we needed. We 100% will be back. It felt kinda like a cabin on a beach vibe. WiFi was 425/50 in speed, more than good enough. The tub was awesome for my wife who really wishes she had a tub like this at home. We stayed 3 nights and she was in it each night. It was a very pleasant stay.

Of note, there are 32 stairs DOWN to the room (up when you leave). While it was fine for us, mobility issues would be a concern if you were not steady on your feat. (Elderly/etc) This is a “just so you know”comment. It’s not bad, but it was a surprise.

I needed an extension cord to reach my side of the bed for a CPAP device, and box to put it on as there isn’t a night stand. I had both with me so I was fine, but just a heads up if you sleep on the left side of the bed and use a medical device - so you are not caught off guard. This is just a note, not a criticism of the property,

We loved it. We may make it a yearly birthday tradition for my wife! Can we just not go back to work next week and stay here!?

Staff - great. Older hotel, we stayed in the 2 story portion. Very clean for it's age. Bed comfy, ocean view good. Only two issues were plumbing related, which hopefully will be fixed promptly. One - dripping sound from upstairs, either a neighbor left the sink dripping overnight, or there's a small leak they are aware of. Also, the shower went cold in less than 2 minutes, so we waited till we got home to shower. Given how nice the staff were, we may stay there again in the future.

Old dirty they gave us the wrong room and when i asked to get the correct room they twll me they are full but they lied the parking lot was mostly empty . The bed was hard the coffee pot didnt wirk no heater . And im disabled with my service dog and they put me in a room that had steep stars and i almost fell . Also only one burner works on the stove . I wont be coming back . I ended up getting another room at the seahorse much better and only $15 more . I will never go back the ester lee ever !

The view was great. The kitchen was clean and had everything we needed. The bathroom was clean but only had one towel and the hairdryer was busted. The bedding should be inspected, both came home a rash. I hope it’s not staphylococcus. The day we left I saw that my car had been ran into while parked. The staff told me they don’t have cameras on the lot and sorry we couldn’t help.

Staff was wonderful. Especially Madison and the manager. So helpful, patient and accommodating. We were very disappointed in the room we got. I think it was the last room to accommodate for people in the spring break week. I did not know such a room existed as in my many states I have always been in the front row of cottages. The four of us cousins and sisters are in our 70s and the stairs down to the room and down to the second bedroom in the room. We’re very hard to navigate. We were also disappointed that although we had a lovely view from the picture window in the room, it was not what we were used to staying at the Ester lee in a cottage. Now that we know how to book so that we get the room we like we will be able to avoid that problem, but it was quite disappointing.

We love staying at this little gem of a motel. My wife and I come here often during the off-season, and it feels like our home away from home. The ocean views are beautiful and never get old. There’s something peaceful about seeing the water right outside your window.

One of our favorite things is that every room is different, so each stay feels like a brand new experience. Every room has its own unique charm and flavor, which makes it fun every time we visit.

The owners are incredibly kind and welcoming. You can really feel how much they care about their guests. It’s also super pet-friendly, which means our pets get just as warm of a welcome as we do.

They even have board games and videos available to rent, which makes for cozy nights in and the fire place is a perfect addition. The kitchenettes are fully stocked with everything you need to cook meals, which is such a plus. And the cleaning staff does an amazing job. Everything is always spotless and comfortable.

Plus, it’s just a short, easy walk to the beach. We can’t recommend this place enough. A special spot for sure.

My previous stays at Ester Lee were adequate. The hotel was ancient and shabby, but it was run reasonably well and was a plausible alternative if better places were booked. That ended on this trip. I don't know if they have a new owner, but the place is now falling completely apart. The cottage I reserved did not have hot water. They said it would not be fixed soon so they replaced it with a small room on the bottom floor of the hotel. They refused to compensate me for the downgrade, claiming falsely they were the same price. I had just booked the cottage and saw the prices for different options so I knew that was false. One of the other buildings had boarded up windows. That is crazy. Whatever caused the collapse in facility maintenance and service makes it unsuitable for my travel needs. I will not be going back. The front desk employees complained about management ignoring maintenance needs. That is a major red flag for me.

We come here, same room, every year as do many retired people who love the retro style of accommodations! I grew up in this style of home with my family and now I have grown, I love returning to my childhood by staying at the Ester Lee for a week every year. Nothing fancy, actually just the opposite, but the view…..AMAZING….the comfort…AMAZING…! Our 1 week on the coast as our home away from home!!!! LOVE IT HERE.

The Ester Lee is a neat historic motel in Lincoln City. The views of the Ocean are awesome! The room was updated for the age of the motel. A few of the furnishings were a bit worn and the bathroom could use a remodel and it had no fan. Overall we enjoyed our stay. My biggest complaint is that I paid for a 2 bedroom Cottage Deluxe w/Kit, Ocean Pet Friendly that slept 5 with 2 queens and a twin and when I checked in this is not the room I was given. I told the front desk staff that I got the wrong room and she said they are changing the twin beds over to sleeper sofas and that they put me in the correct room. This is false advertising or a case of bait and switch as a sleeper sofa is not the same as a 3rd bed. I feel like I overpaid for the room I got so be aware if booking this room!

Great stay! Only thing was that the heat was on when we arrived and the temperature was 93 degrees. Don’t know why but the maintenance guy stopped by and was very apologetic about leaving the heat on. It did take most of the evening to get the heat out of the place. I will book another stay in the future.
