We really enjoyed Salishan! The property is lovely and the staff were wonderful.

The bed is very soft. I’m a firm bed person so it was a little bit softer than I prefer, but everything else was lovely!

Walked across to the shops for the best coffee and good pastries. The little market in the lodge had a good burger and lighter options too. I got a great chai there every day. The room was perfect for us, with a nice balcony I used for some sketching and reading, a gas fireplace for cool evenings, and comfy beds I didn’t want to leave.

Had a bad experience hot tub was cold, food was underwhelming and expensive. They have these fireplaces in the rooms and they get extremely hot when on. There is a warning sign but no protection in front of the fireplace. My daughters touched the glass and burned her hand. We had to take her to the ER, not what we planned to do on our vacation.

Booked for a girls get-away. There were many many children there and it was advertised as a relaxing place but the screaming kids kinda changed that. The drain was clogged and after being told we would be receiving help that night, we were then told that it wouldn’t be cleaned till the following day which wasn’t awesome. There are advertised shops. There are indeed a couple. I got a smoothie at one and it took about twenty minutes. We ate a great meal at The Attic. Unfortunately my dish came 15 minutes after the rest of my groups food. The main entrance and lodge is very nice though.

The nature here is absolutely fantastic — the beach walks and bike rides are truly the highlight.

Just be prepared for a little “surprise” at checkout… about 20% extra on top of the fees and taxes on Orbitz, nicely labeled as a “nature preservation” fee. Gotta support the views, I guess 🙂

The property itself is a bit dated — especially the spa center. The pool, jacuzzi, and sauna have definitely seen better days, and the one-shower-per-locker-room setup with empty sample-size shampoo dispensers adds a certain… minimalist charm.

It’s also very pet-friendly — which is great, unless it’s your neighbor’s dog enthusiastically trying to scratch through the connecting door all night. A truly immersive experience.

We had a negative interaction with one of the members while we were there, but management handled it exceptionally well.

It’s spring break in Oregon which you would think would mean more staff or the property being ready to handle that. First impression going to our room was a heaping garbage in front of our room , definitely not emptied an it was still the same after 3 days being there . The pool had no towels for us and we had to wait nearly an hour to get any. Then the sauna was broken, the bathroom in the pool area was not cleaned either . I booked this stay as a single mum and we took a walk which is actually a small
Hike to get to the beach only to find out that its access is closed due to erosion. I feel
That this should have been told to us upon checking in. Ultimately it made us really sad and it was not a great spring break.

Salishan is perfect for family reunions or business conferences, but I really don't recommend for couples visits

The property in general has lodge vibes and is rustic.. for that, we really liked it. The Adirondack chairs, forests, fire pits, daily blown glass scavenger hunt were fun. The pool area and hot tub area on the main lodge site weren’t very appealing and we felt could use sprucing up. The customer facing folks were very warm and friendly. Main challenges we experienced were getting anyone on the property on the phone to give clear answers- we were hoping to book Spa treatments ahead of arriving but the reservations desk don’t talk to the spa or know the schedule(which is part of the property) and it involved many calls back and forth- there is no way to book or see appointments available online (this would be a huge improvement and I hope they will consider that in the near future). We did call someone at the spa once we checked in and were able to book a massage and get a “maybe” on a day pass.. the next day when we went in as we walked by, it seemed like it wasn’t any problem at all to accommodate the appointment and pass so we’re not clear on why it felt so hard to get this accomplished, especially as guests staying in the property for several days. The spa area itself was gorgeous and we enjoyed our time there. The food onsite that we tried- breakfast type things weren’t great- but the coffee served at the provisions was great- that coffee shop and a couple other little food places just across the road (by the spa) were very good. We could see visiting again in the future.

The staff was lovely, but everything else was very disappointing. We booked this room hoping for a romantic valentines weekend, but that is not what happened! Our room was very sad for the amount we paid, the water in the shower went from scolding hot to lukewarm at weird times, and couldn't even fill up the bath because the water flow was too slow. When we arrived at our room it was FREEZING cold, and the floor was still quite dirty. I took photos of everything that was not clean, ESPECIALLY at the price we paid you excpect a comfy clean room. On top of that, you do not get to use the pretty ocean view pool & hottub that you see in the photos, you have to pay over $100 for it and it was fully booked anyways. The zip lines seem cool but after the dissatisfaction of our room and everything else we didn’t want to spend $300 to do that. Overall a disappointing trip especially for our Valentine’s Day! Would not recommend to anyone

The room and staff were excellent but we were completely surprised at the end of our stay with a $35 per day \"Guest Amenity Fee.\" We failed to notice that such a fee would be assessed when we booked the room thru Expedia and were not notified of such a fee when we checked in. We will be very careful when booking with Expedia in the future and warn others of our oversight,
We had stayed at Salishan twice before over the years and were not assessed such an additional fee at that time. It had been a pleasant stay up until the time we checked out. Because of this fee we shall not be staying a Salishan Coastal Lodge again.

We enjoyed our two morning breakfasts at the lodge and appreciated Andrea's cheerful help. Joe the bartender was also nice.

It was great. Everyone was super friendly with us. Great amenities and prices. We got to use the bicycles, gym, little markets nearby, fireplace in the room and convenient water and ice stations. Definitely will be coming back more during the summer. Only downside, not the resorts fault is we had loud upstairs neighbors the nights we were there.

This stay was disappointing from the start. The staff was not warm or welcoming and came across as nonchalant throughout the property, including the front desk and dining areas.
At check-in, I learned that beach access was closed due to erosion, which was not disclosed on the website. I was also told the spa was closed on Christmas, again not mentioned online. When I asked about spa access, I was incorrectly told it was fully booked and that access was only allowed with a service—this later turned out to be false when the spa called me back to book.
I wanted to leave immediately but was told I wouldn’t receive a refund because I booked through Expedia, which was also incorrect. Expedia ultimately secured the refund.
I stayed one night to give the property a chance. The sauna was dingy, very small, unstable, and never got hot. The hot tub was barely warm. The website advertised complimentary yoga and meditation, but in reality only one yoga class at 9:30 a.m. was available—no meditation or other listed times.
My room was sold as a forest view, but actually overlooked a parking lot, cars, and a dumpster—at best a partial forest view.
The room itself was decent, but the property felt outdated and misrepresented. Staff responses were cold and dismissive, and accountability was minimal. I would not recommend this hotel.

Staff were friendly. Everything else was a letdown. Biggest disappointment was the $90 charge per person, per day, in addition to the $35 per day resort fee, to sit in the hot tub they have pictured on their website. Second biggest disappointment was that the only option for breakfast and lunch is a coffee shop. Third biggest disappointment was the dated and worn out furnishings in the room. Fourth was the lack of a view from our room. It was basically of the highway.

I really wanted to like this place, but until big changes are made, I won't be coming back.

Worst case burnt fingers and a big mess (come on you can do better!) ocean is about .5 miles away (any water view is the bay). Would not recommend either of the restaurants - pricey and poor service. Spa is across the street and very luxurious.

You have one server handling the entire restaurant there's a definite problem with management. I also had to request hangers for my room which was unacceptable. On the good side the golf course was great however the merchandise was well over priced.

The property was beautiful, the room was not great , on the surface looked cleaned but once you looked deeper you could tell deep cleaning was not something they do often. The was definitely pink mold in the bathtub and the floor looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. The baseboards were black with all the dust. Countertops were dusty as well. Definitely not very clean!

Such a beautiful property! Many thoughtful details and the rooms were spacious. Lovely to have the rockers on the private patio and we enjoyed the fireplace as well. So convenient to walk across the street for food and shopping trails and the beach were so close by. Staff was very kind and helpful! Loved the nature walk—felt like a forest retreat, but so secluded. The beach path with views of the golf course and water was stunning. Cute shops and a great pizza place, too. Highly recommend and we’re heading back soon with my sisters for a spa day!

This continues to be a cozy coastal destination. Lots of wood incorporated in the modern touch. Something for everyone - golf, tennis swimming pool, spa & fireplaces in the room. Staff is very accommodating and beds are very comfy. Haven’t stayed here for awhile but will return.
