I am completely disgusted with Expedia for booking us into a hotel that has been partly demolished for remodeling. The hotel is closed. I drove 100 miles from Portland to get there only to have to scramble to find an alternative, then having to drive another 100 miles. A complete waste of the first day of my vacation, which Expedia had the cheek to offer me an insulting $50 voucher. Expedia has lost a customer for life. I will never use them again.

WE ARRIVED THE EVENING OF OUR RESERVATION TO CHECK IN, ONLY TO BE GREETED BY ROLLS OF YELLOW TAPE BLOCKING THE WHOLE PARKING LOT AND SIGNS OF PRE-DEMOLITION. LUCKILY I DID NOT PAY IN ADVANCE. WE CALLED THE NUMBER ON THE DOOR TO THE OFFICE AND THE FORMER MANAGEMENT OF THIS HOTEL STATED THEY HAVE BEEN TRYING THEIR HARDEST TO GET YOU TO STOP BOOKING HERE. PLEASE STOP. WE HAD TO FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO STAY AFTER A LONG DAY OF DRIVING. ANY COMPENSATION YOU CAN PROVIDE ME FOR THIS HUGE INCONVENIENCE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Had it booked and was in the way up from Newport after a long day trip with my 3 year old. It was closed upon arrival. A good property would update it through a major booking service so I doubt I’d book here again just for that. This should be published. They don't do anything to communicate they're closed.

Room was great! That is all that was available at the time, as they are in the middle of remodeling. Had to check in over the phone. I was the last to stay there before they closed to finish remodel and change to new name… I hope the new owners will keep the lower price for locals during the slow seasons as I love taking a break and staying here…

Nice renovation on the rooms but definitely could use better cleaning. Staff was awesome. Great location! Have stayed here multiple times, beach is so amazing and more private than other local beach access points. Definitely wasn't happy about this last room having a shared balcony and a toddler running around yelling at 6am back and forth and on our side of the balcony, slamming the storm door repeatedly. Kids riding scooters on ramp walkways above, Definitely not the needed rest we were hoping for. Not the kids fault but would have liked to have been informed of the shared balcony and have had the option to have a different option. Bummed the hot tub and restaurant were no longer, and were told we would see a reflection in price because we weren't informed until after booking but no discounts were given.
The maintenance guy was very helpful, and we made sure to tip, the staff was wonderful! Will definitely be back.

The room was large. We were on the 2nd floor and had a balcony with 2 chairs. Great oceanview and there is access to the beach. Parking is convenient, right at the stairs up to our room.
No shops nearby. No restuarant onsite. All of this was fine with us; we wanted a room on the ocean; and that is what this place had to offer at a great price.

Excellent Views. Place needs some TLC but also read that there is plans to demo and rebuild so that's totally understandable. Clean rooms and comfy beds for as busy as it was it was sound proofed well. Attached restaurant is closed permanently but that's also understandable if demo is coming. Would stay again.

I find beach properties often overcharge and underdeliver. This was not the case at Clarion Surfrider. A lot of times the ocean view rooms show just a tiny patch of blue between a bunch of buildings or obstacles. The centerpiece of this room was a picture window with the beautiful pacific surf, pounding in front of your eyes. There was a lovely, functional fireplace and functional jetted tub. They had a refrigerator in microwave, which I think every hotel should have as well as the obligatory coffee maker. I also like that they have a full length mirror; I don't know why people think you only need to know what you look like from the waist.up. When we checked in, we learned that the jacuzzi and fitness center and restaurant were closed. They mentioned that they had constantly been telling the person who manages their website this information, but it never gets updated. All in all, it was a lovely stay in the room was beautiful and we highly recommend it.

This property has amazing views, beach front and this was what made it ok. What they omitted to let us know is the restaurant, bar, and vending machines are not working and they have no plan of having them functioning soon. There was a sign on the door to the office letting us know this. The staff was not friendly or helpful. No water in the lobby if you forgot yours.

I stayed here before and decided it would be a cost efficient way of spending a few days on the Oregon Coast. I am not typically one to leave poor reviews because I know times are hard everywhere, and people are doing their best… but I cannot let this slide.

When I went to check in, there was no one at the front desk, and another couple had already been waiting awhile. When we did get checked in, we got a disclaimer that the restaurant, fitness center, and laundry were all permanently closed, and that the property has been in dispute with Clarion about it, to no avail. Again, I was understanding because the rate was good and I knew what I was getting. What upset me was that when I walked into my room, the bedskirt was lopsided and bunched as if someone had taken the mattress off, and it was also stained in at least four places with dried, crusty, white substance in drip, glob, and squirt patterns.

I don’t shame previous people’s desires even if it involves a moved mattress or a biospill. But I will forever stand on the principle of a clean hotel room where details are minded.

I called the front desk and they came and got the bedskirt. I asked them to replace it and they said they didn’t have any spares- yet another sign of imminent decline.

A newly married couple had come, and I imagined the horror they would have felt if that wound up being THEIR honeymoon room.

Money troubles happen. Cleanliness is and will always be non negotiable, and this was inexcusable.

We were impressed we showed up real late and the office closes early the put our keys outside where we were able to retrieve them did not have to go to the office once ! Also for those of you that still smoke like my mother momma it does say non smoking property but they do have a few Ash trays out side that can be used just please use them or that rule will be taken away ! View amazing etc dog friendly I will defiantly be back 😊

Stayed 2 night for my anniversary. Great view. Old lumpy beds. Had to get different room. Checked in and first room had water puddle in middle of floor, and there was hair on the stained dirty sheet. Second room was better but the mattresses are old and my back hurts from the lumpy bed. Borrowed a dvd from office to watch movie but the dvd player in room was missing power cord. Didnt want to walk across property to use the hot tub and swimming pool but luckily my room had jacuzzi tub. Good quiet place but really could use updating

The room def could use more cleaning, there was dust bunnies on the floor, dark stain on the ceiling by the showerhead and crumbs on the side table. We got there at night and were very tired so did not say anything. The door lock deadbolt is broken, the bar to secure the sliding glass door was missing, the shade/curtain is kind of stuck and hard to open and close. The walls are very thin, you can hear everything. Also just when we checked in we were told that the pool was closed, we were looking forward to the pool after a whole day of traveling. This is the first time weve stayed here and i was excited looking at the pictures online. The staff in the front office were friendly. The best part is the ocean view when you open the sliding glass door, that was great.

Staff was courteous, sink was plugged, bathtub needed calking on floor, handrails recently installed were bare and had potential slivers. I got a good night sleep. Clerk said pets were allowed on the bottom floor only, which made me happy. I don't take pets. someone had a dog on the top floor, which I was told wasn't allowed. Had a nice view of the ocean complete with a nice sunset.

It’s was as to be expected. I brought my daughter to celebrate her birthday. She wanted to go swimming for her birthday and I knew from previous stays that the pool is hardly ever packed but when we went to the pool it wasn’t heated at all which was a bummer. We enjoyed everything else about our stay.

The room was outdated, the porch where you went out to sit, you had to share with somebody. They did not explain that in the description. It says a deck with a view and that it's all private, which it wasn't, and the Jacuzzi tub is pretty small. And the handles fell off of the bathtub when you started it and the handle fell off the door to go outside. They definitely need to redo some things. I will not be back.

You cannot beat the views. Absolutely stunning.However, do not waste your money upgrading to the adults only building, there are kids screaming, dogs barking, no robes on your bed. Also, note there is no hot tub and no restaurant/bar.

My Service Dog was welcome. Front Desk staff were not overly friendly.
My first room smelled very strong of bleach. After complaining I was given a much vetter room.
The TV only had one station. I could not get anything more.
There were no instructions for the jacuzzi tub. I could not get the water to turn on 😑 was not impressed.
The ocean view from the balcony was great.

The room was nice and clean, however the sink was clogged and no maintenance to fix it. We found a plunger and fixed it ourselves. The fan & light in the bathroom are connected so they go on together and the fan is very loud. We loved the deck and the fireplace. We also really liked the pillows and good coffee.

Had a rough week so decided to treat my self and splurge and rent a Deluxe one bedroom room with an ocean view. Planning on sleeping in . Well that was not to be at 5am the people above me decided to get up . All I could hear was the squeaky floor boards as they kept walking back and forth. Seeing it wasn’t going to stop I got up. When I told the gal at the desk on check out she just shrugged and said yea I know. My suggestion is maybe if you carpeted the floor it might help . Needless to say if I was to book again (which I’m not due to my age I don’t do stairs well) so that’s why I ask for ground floor rooms

The view was great, but the room itself was not clean and could definitely use some upgrades. We got a room with a jetted tub and we couldn't use it as it was so dirty in and all around the tub. There were all kinds of dirt smears on the walls and the overall cleanliness was very disappointing. We didn't realize that we had a small balcony that led through a door that we thought led to an adjoining room. I wish the front staff had told us about it at check in, as it would have been nice to enjoy while there. We also had to go to the front desk to have our keys re-issued as they locked us out of our room twice. Front desk staff was super nice and apologized several times (not their fault) but did mention that this happens to them alot.
Overall, ok stay for the one night, probably wouldn't stay again, sorry guys.

Compared to what it was 2 years ago this was the most horrible stay at any hotel I've ever been in and we used to stay in this resort a lot after a couple years of not being here we were very disappointed the pool was ice cold and not been maintained so swimming was not an option and they acted shocked when I explained that the pool was ice cold there was no lights in the pool there was black water coming out of my tub faucet and in the second bathroom the water was bright yellow so bathing was not an option really because of the minerals in the water my internet cable stuff in my room went off so we had no local TV and no internet channels to watch either or cable channels there was black mold all around the window and the people at the reception desk did not care one way or another this was my husband and mine's 25th wedding anniversary and as I said this hotel used to be our favorite place to stay it has gone so downhill there's no game room anymore the restaurant and bar was neither here nor there so it being closed wasn't an issue but the lack of attention the lack of cleanliness and the absolute atrocious behavior of the staff when trying to explain your problems was just enough to make me never ever go back here very disappointed almost sad as this was our family's favorite place for years

Service was great! The room unfortunately was dirty. There were spider webs in the room, along with spiders and stains on the comforter. However, we got what we paid for. $95 for one night isnt to bad of a deal, considering the good view we had.

Parking was fine. This place needs a total gut reno or tear down. Newer paint and furnishings but fan didn't work in the bathroom, deck balcony needs replaced, lits of crud in the door jam, veneer falling apart on bathroom doir. Very dated and in disrepair. Thought Clarion Inn meant a good place but not here. I do not recommend other than the view.

The room was quant and quiet. Loved the view!! The trail to the beach was a little too steep, but doable. Didn’t have AC, and it was unseasonably warm, but a fan in the window did the trick. Disappointed there was no restaurant or hot tub.
