It is located in the heart of Vienna. Very convinient location. The staffs are friendly and nice. Breakfast at the hotel was tasty. The facility is old, but nicely maintained. The unfortunate thing is, I heard clearly the noise from the bathroom of the next door - the person was gargling, sneezing, etc. very clear. Other than that, all great!

This was a tiny room in an historic pension. It’s old and kind of funky, but actually really nice. It is on one of the most expensive streets in Venice and very conveniently located. It’s a few minutes walk to the Stephensplatz metro stop, which connects directly to the train station. The breakfast buffet was very nice and was included with my booking, which was a pleasant surprise. The staff were very helpful in providing late check-in for me with very specific instructions that were a breeze.

Wonderful stay!

Wonderful stay in the best part of Vienna! We stayed twice in a weeks time for 2 nights each. The staff was kind and the breakfast was wonderful!! Very quaint hotel and again, perfect location right by the subway and all the sights. If I can offer any feedback, it may be to add a fan to the room as it did get a little warm, but we are from US and a little too used to air conditioning. Thank you to the staff of the Nossek, we loved our time there.

Property is in an excellent location, right in the city center in the middle of the best shopping and close to lots off attractions. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the walls in the room were super thin and it was incredibly noisy. I heard every toilet flush and shower from the rooms around me which made it difficult to sleep. If you’re not a light sleeper this is a great choice.

This property is ideally located. It's a ten minute or less walk from almost everything and I felt very safe as a single female traveling alone. It has a ton of charm. I did have trouble with the temperature in the room as it doesn't respond as quickly as I'm used to. But the front desk staff is extremely helpful and kind. I would stay here again and definitely recommend it.

A real gem

Returning after ten years absence, this small private hotel is a real gem. Smack in the middle of Vienna ‘s shopping district, it remains a haven of good old fashioned charm and service. Great breakfasts too.

We loved being on a pedestrian street in the very center of Old Vienna. Not only was it near the entrance to the Palace, museums, and shopping, it was very quiet at night, and there were very nice restaurants nearby. Vienna is a very beautiful and walkable city.

This is the fourth time my wife and I have stayed in this excellent independent boutique hotel.And it came through with flying colours yet again .
A very comfortable room, with a large luxurious bed. Pleasant staff. Exceptional breakfasts. And smack in the middle of the city. Definitely a six star recommendation.

If you are thinking about booking with hotel and you want a view; ask them if all of the scaffolding from in front of the building is removed so you can actually see outside of your room. The scaffolding was actually covered with a tarp so you couldn’t see anything from the room. Big money spent for a room with a view that turned out to have no view.

There is no question that this hotel is in a fantastic location! It's right in the middle of and easy walking distance to all the main (first time visit) sites to see in Vienna. And we were there just after Christmas and still had the opportunity to enjoy their massive Christmas Markets. As for the hotel itself, as Rick Stevens put in his travel book about this hotel, it's \"worn & threadbare.\" Very true. The pictures on Expedia site and web look much nicer than they really are. The front desk staff could have been more welcoming in their greet. They were gruff and I felt like we were intruding on them and they were annoyed that they had to stop what they were doing. The biggest issue for me was NO WIFI! Ok, they have \"some\" wifi, but even when checking in they mentioned that their wifi was really bad. HUH? In this day and age and at THIS location?!?! it was very annoying trying to get travel related items done and some work done from home. Completely uncalled for! I could mention other things like if you were any taller than my 5'6\" and needed to sit on the commode in their very small water closet, you'd end up with bruises on your head and knees because the wall is so close. In closing, for the location, it was a great price and the place has \"character\" and they have a very nice breakfast. For some it could just be just the right place. But for my family of four after a two week Xmas trip through Germany and Austria in some fabulous hotels, this was very disappointing.

Room was so small, was not any char only bed and minibar and bathroom ,but NO phone ,no safe, no anything in bathroom NO room for $200!! Waiting hour to got in house, with mailman, no buzzer working on door, no phone working, later reception not very worry when iI tould her. Ripping turists !!

Great location with access to many sights by foot but only a couple of minutes from the metro station. Place was clean and comfortable. The staff were very nice and any interactions with them was positive. The only thing that I would say is that sometimes when other people unlock their door it may sound like someone is unlocking yours but I think this is just the type of old building so don't worry, it is very safe and secure. I would definitely be happy to stay here again in the future.

Place with an atmosphere

Pension Nossek is located in an old building in the city centre. As the name suggests, this is an old-style guest house. If you want to feel like you've been transported a hundred years into the past, you'll love this place. If you expect modern hotel comfort, you may be a bit disappointed. The location is brilliant. A few steps from the St. Stephen's Cathedral, the Vienna Opera, etc. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. Very clean. My room was cleaned even on Sunday! Breakfast quite decent and served for a long time, so you don't have to get up in the early morning. Very good price-value ratio. I will definitely use it if I go to Vienna in the future.

We so enjoyed our stay at Hotel Nossek! The room we had was very large by European standards and the whole hotel had an old world feeling. The breakfast was amazing with many delicious options as well as eggs if desired. The best part was being greeted by Gabriella each morning; she is delightful and kind and helpful and she made our stay even better. The hotel is close to everything you might want/need.and it was perfect for our five days in Vienna.

Right in the heart of Vienna. Be careful…some rooms do not have toilet or shower facilities in the room, but down the corridor, even though for exclusive use of a particular room number. Using the aircon causes an annoying clicking sound from the water extractor, but air cons are needed. Breakfast buffet offerings are adequate. The desk staff are excellent.

Positives : This location is great, although amid luxury goods store, right on the main Christ,as area full of tourists. But restaurants will require a little walking. Free included breakfast, and an elevator are nice. And tv includes a number of channels in German and French (but no English except financial news). There is a nice little lounge to use the computer. Free wifi, which good at times, but extremely slow for a day or two.

Negatives : The bed and pillow are very cheap and not comfortable - the point of giving a back ache. Although no street noise at all, there can be a lot of noise from fellow guests through thin walls and loud locking doors. Also no toilet in room. No one on duty past 9 pm.

The area where the hotel is located are very busy, however the hotel was surprisingly very quiet. The hotel is conveniently located near a metro stop, and also two stops away from wein mitte stn, to catch the airport train. Also, the room is okay and the detached bathroom's cleanliness is immaculate. The only dislike about the hotel was the sheets having some stains and also the breakfast, which needs some improvement.

Bad experience, apart from its fantastic location, which is the only good thing,
No reception after 9 pm and when I arrived 9:10 PM, I had to search for building guard to get my room keys and consequently forced to pay extra 10 Euros, that never happened to me before.
Room furniture are extremely old
Morning reception staff was unfriendly
Breakfast was very poor
Check out max. 11 AM and no possibility for late check out
Fortunately, it was single night there.

Great place value for money

Clean small place, right center of Vienna. They do free breakfast which was not too bad a variety of bread, croissants, ham, salami, cheese, fruits, salad, yogurt, cake, spreads, tea & coffee. Everything was fresh and service was good all friendly staff. Highly recommend anyone it’s such a cute small hotel right the heart of Vienna walking distance to most attractions.

Everything about this hotel was fantastic. The staff who worked their, the rooms, the breakfast and especially the location. It’s right in the heart of the city, a stone throw away from the Imperial Palace and the Cathedral. We didn’t need ANY public transport as everything was within a walking distance but if we did need the metro, again, it was only a short walk down the high street. I’m still shocked how the price was so good for such a high quality stay. London hotels would have charged at least double and wouldn’t have been as welcoming as the Pension Nossek. Although the rooms need a fresh coat of paint it still has its charm keeping in with the traditional feel of the beautiful city.

Fabulous location but no street noise (high up and double windows), beautiful old details within the building (high decorative ceilings, old style stained glass in common areas, decorative tiles around bathroom mirrors); good breakfast. Lots of atmosphere. There are few no services except directions to places outside the hotel so if you want a spa, a restaurant, room service or a gym, go elsewhere. The rooms are spacious also. My only misgiving was when we moved to a suite, it was large but the sofas and chair supplied are of lesser quality and are well used.

Location is great but had a number of challenges with the room. No way to regulate heat other then opening window. Room was very noisy as we could hear people in adjacent rooms as well as some elevator or other mechanical systems noise that was intermittent. Stand to hold shower head was also broken.

A group of 11 friends booked this hotel mainly for the fantastic location. We didn't expect the earth, and over all we were pleasantly surprised by the layout, service and cost.

The location is amazing!! When I arrived though, I wasn't sure on exactly where to go and how to use the keys to unlock the door. I struggled a bit but eventually figured it out. The room was clean but the shower curtain was not as it had some black spots on it and the bottom of the curtain had more black along it. Besides this though, the room was great.

You couldn't find a better hotel in the city centre: walk outside and you're on the Graben a most prestigious street - for shopaholics!
Close to the U-Bahn but difficult to get to a tram or bus-stop. That's insignificant - this is a great hotel!

We chose this hotel because of its position which was ideal for exploring the beautiful city of Vienna. Staff were very helpful on arrival furnishing us with maps and suggestions on places to visit and eat. Of course we had a guide book but there is always a place for local knowledge. Hard working staff especially at breakfast which could be hectic as hotel seemed well booked.

Characterful hotel in a brilliant central location

Large, elegant bedroom with an air-con unit and antique furniture; clean and up-to-date bathroom with bath/shower. Wonderful views of one of Vienna's main pedestrian streets from the front. Helpful staff, and generous check-in/check-out times. Reception is on the second (i.e. 4th) floor, but there is a lift.

If you want accommodation that is central then this couldn't be better placed. Be prepared for a typical old Viennese building and furnishings but spotlessly clean.
The breakfast was plentiful and of the continental variety but you can order cooked food at an extra cost.
Very friendly and accommodating staff. In all, a very pleasant stay for the price.

Central hotel, convenient for all sights and shops

The hotel is different to most others, a simple, very (I imagine) Austrian style place. Quite old fashioned but clean and the breakfast selection was adequate and fresh. The shower in our room was awkward as it involved holding the shower head by hand it wouldn't fix to the wall. The plus point is definitely its position in the city as we could visit everywhere on foot and only had to take the underground once to go to the Schonbrun Palace which was a terrific day out.
