We had a great 2 night stay. The shared bathrooms were no problem, clean and available. Breakfast was great and a good value. Bed was comfortable and room was big enough to not feel claustrophobic. I slept with earplugs bc you can hear sounds in the hallway and adjoining room, but earplugs are typical to help me sleep while traveling. Great location, excellent and kind hostesses. We rented bikes to get around and they were great and cheaper than our last hotel. Would definitely stay again.

Location was great for the purpose of my trip. They provided bike rental. The breakfast was very good, the public area was nice to sit in, the staff was sooo nice and helpful, and the atmosphere in the hotel was unique due to the transformation of apartments into a hotel.

the only problem was ongoing constructions/repairs of the building outside which contributed to noise, but I assume that is temporary

Beautiful and cozy small hotel in Osterbro! My husband and our 20 year-old daughter and I loved our stay at Rye 115. The location was perfect for us, in a quiet and very nice residential neighborhood (SO MANY dining options!) and just a block from a large canal/park. We experimented with many modes of transportation and all worked great - Metro (a few blocks away), walking (from 20-40 minutes to most places) and, our favorite, biking using the Rye 115 bikes! The hotel itself is lovely, beautifully decorated and it really feels like your guests in someone's home. We loved the candlelit breakfasts (granola and pastries!), the cozy lounge with jazz music playing on the stereo and the balcony where we enjoyed drinks and a to-go dinner one night. Our room looked out over the back garden and was very comfortable (just needed a bit more storage and some hooks for towels and such). I wasn't crazy about sharing a bathroom, at first, but there were literal elves, I think, who went through and cleaned up every few minutes - it was always immaculate! Mette and her team were also incredibly helpful when we got stuck with the SAS strike and they helped us figure out how to get to Hamburg for our new flight home to the U.S. Highly recommend this hygge hotel!

Rye 115 is a lovely boutique hotel. All the staff are friendly and attentive, and the decor is a good eclectic mix. Don't be put off by the communal entrance, once you get into the hotel it's lovely. And I imagine the outside in full bloom would be beautiful.

Lovely but uncomfortable

This hotel was lovely, and the staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. The décor is great, there is a nice living room and balcony, and the breakfast was delicious. The hotel is kept very clean.

However, comfort was not what I expected. The place is very noisy, the room doors provide no sound isolation whatsoever, and the layout means that you can expect to be woken up throughout the night by guests coming back and in the early morning when staff comes in. Combined with the shared bathrooms, this made me feel like I was staying in a shared AirBnB, and not a hotel.

I found the bed very uncomfortable - I understand the appeal of vintage, but that doesn't mean you need to have bedsprings from 20 years ago. The wifi was also very poor, it was basically unusable by more than 1 person at a time. Don't expect to be able to work from the hotel.

Overall, my experience was mixed - if they did some upgrades (better internet, new beds, soundproofing the doors), this would easily be the best hotel in Copenhagen.

A real treasure in the heart of Copenhagen

What a treasure. So close to one of the metro stations in town, making getting anywhere very easy. A lovely neighborhood with only a short walk to the canal and a good choice of restaurants close by and a nice looking bakery across the road . We never visited the latter though as we were treated to a wonderful breakfast each morning with freshly baked banana bread and warm buns and boiled eggs cooked just right amongst other things!
The staff couldn't have been nicer and we were made to feel at home right away.
The décor was warm and inviting, the beds very comfortable. A communal sitting room had soft lighting and loads of comfortable chairs and sofas where you could relax and read in the evening and enjoy a complementary cup of tea or coffee.
The shared bathrooms were well tended with beautiful old fashioned ware , but there was a bit of a problem in one of them with water inclined to gather on the floor after a shower - perhaps a symptom of this beautiful old building (and plumbing!). But the staff left the place immaculate at all times and were yet amazingly unobtrusive going about their work.
Excellent value for money.

Staying at Rye 115 is like staying with friends. The hotel is crafted from old apartments, so there are a couple implications of this. Washrooms are shared, while not my favorite thing, they were kept spotless by staff, day and night. Sound also travels easily, so rooms do not have TVs, and unless you are a heavy sleeper you will need earplugs. The POSITIVES however, far outweigh this. The hotel is on a quiet street, one over from the Sortedam Lake. It is also steps away from the new Trianglen Metro station which was due to open the end of Sept 2019. The owners are wonderful, and they and their staff make the place what it is. My experience of Copenhagen would not have been the same had I stayed in a more traditional hotel. A European style breakfast is included (breads, cheese, meats, yogurt and muesli, hard boiled eggs) served with wonderful organic coffee, tea, juices, and milk.
If you want to experience a Denmark founded on the principals of sustainability (sharing) and hygge, I recommend you include Rye 115 in your travel plans. Thank you Charlotte and Claus for your kindness and care!

It’s impossible to sleep in this hotel. The walls, floors and windows are paper thin. It’s such a shame as the welcome is fantastic. I had two nights of zero sleep due to the noise.
Either from outside, above or to the side. The beds are also so narrow you can not move. Very disappointing and not good value for money.

What a rare treat I uncovered when I booked at the Rye! The building was 900 years old so everything was made of wood! The beautiful old creaking floorboards, the hutches in the dinning room as well as the tables and chairs. The breakfasts were delicious and the cakes and breads were all homemade.
You would never know you shared a bathroom because someone cleaned it as soon as you went back to your nicely appointed room with a comfortable bed and and old fashioned vanity table and chair .
Saving the best for last was the owner, Claus, his lovely wife and all the staff. They were the most welcoming, warm and friendly people you could ever meet! I highly recommend this unique hotel for your next stay in Copenhagen.

The owner and his staff was very service-minded and cared much for my well-being. The hotel is located in an typical residential building in Copenhagen (Østerbro), renovated and transformed into a hotel. The rooms are just and it has a great living room where you can enjoy a cup of tea listening to the times of relaxing jazz music. Definitively a hotel I would like to try again.

A lovely hostel, best owners & homemade breakfast

I’ve had my share of generic business hotel stays, but Rye 115 was something else entirely. At first glance, it was an older guesthouse with beautiful, spacious rooms, bathrooms separate from room and plenty of shared rooms and dining room for socializing with other travelers. My age set are so used to using AirBnB at this point that we have forgotten the possible benefits of staying in a cozy hostel with proprietors who know all the guests each night. Although Klaus and Charlotte could not have been much older than me and my husband, they somehow made the experience of staying with them not unlike times when I was a child and I stayed overnight at friend’s houses whose mothers spoiled us with homemade food. We could tell that charlotte and Klaus are exactly the kind of people who travel exactly as my husband and I do — we travel and explore by foot, anchoring our trips around food no matter what continent we happen to be on. If you go, you musn’t skip breakfast! Aside from waking to the unusual sound of waterfowl in the sky, the best thing was the brief chance we had to speak to klaus and charlotte about their lives and to hear them them tell us what they love about Copenhagen,Tthe increasing renting put of airbnb apartments as a means of paying a mortgage makes for an alienating experience. Stay at Rye 115 if you want to engage with the kindest, most cosmopolitan locals who are eager to share their local knowledge with you while stuffing you silly with wonderful food.

Delightful Place to Stay

We had a wonderful and tranquil stay here. The hosts were so welcoming and helpful it actually felt more like staying with friends (and the staff were all great too). The décor and furnishings were well done and to our taste. Even having shared toilet and bathroom facilities (something we haven't had for many years) seemed to add to the charm somehow! Breakfast was simple but generous and the home-baked cakes were a real treat. We were quite sad to leave in the end and would definitely go back.

It's a quiet street so you can rest well. You don't have a lot of traffic there. But you'll be just a steps away of a main street where is very easy to find a taxi. I loved the place. It's like being visiting family. Feels like home. Owners and staff are very friendly, kind and helpful. They help us to plan our stay there and how to enjoy the city. The place is at walking distance from the little mermaid attraction and the Kastelet. In the streets closeby are plenty of choices for restaurants and cafes. The breakfast included was very complete: eggs, breads, juice, milk, coffe, tea and more. Even pastries, some of them home made. Delicious. I highly recomend the place.

The staff were exceptional. They welcomed us immediately and provided us with coffee, juice and freshly made banana bread. The place was quaint and clean. However, the rooms lighting was very dim. There were for us to the room. There was no place to put clothing. There were no hooks to hang up anything not to hang up a wet towel. There were three bathrooms for at least 12 rooms on our floor. And if each room had at least two people that would be 24 people with only 3 bathrooms. We had to wait many times especially in the morning to use the bathrooms. This place was listed as a hotel and should of been listed as a bed and breakfast. I paid about $2000 Kronos (390 Canadian per night for 4 people in one room) TOO EXPENSIVE!! The host were very helpful for recommended sights to see. The place was ok, the staff exceptional, the breakfast was great but this place was NOT worth what I paid!!

Personalet var helt fantastiks. Vi fik et værelse, hvor tapetet var med små prikker og jeg blev helt svimmel af at være der inde. Spurgte så om vi måtte få et andet værelse. Det måtte jeg i hvert fald og det var bare helt i orden. En meget smilende og virkelig sød Alma. Stemningen var helt fantastisk afslappende og hun gjorde alt, hvad hun kunne for at vi skulle føle os velkomne. Næste dag var en virkelig sød imødekommende kvinde fra Argentina. Simpelthen det bedste personale jeg har mødt. Lækkert morgenmad, lækre produkter, lækkert rent. Jeg giver den bedste anbefaling med herfra.

Dejligt ophold og værelset var hyggeligt og hjemmeligt. Supergod og munter betjening af Malaika. Alt i alt skøn oplevelse! Vi kommer helt sikkert tilbage til Rye115 :-)

Malheureusement, l'hôtel n'est pas digne de ce nom.
TOILETTE et SALLE DE BAIN à l'extérieur de la chambre.
Portes et parquet qui grincent fortement.
L'insonorisation inexistante, on entend toutes les discussions.
Séjour très compliqué avec un enfant.
Chambre qui donne sur des travaux et église qui sonne à 8h

Det er et super hyggeligt sted. Rengøring var i top. God morgenmad, og kaffe.
Ejerne fantastisk imødekommende, og skaber en dejlig stemning. Det er som at overnatte i en gammel smukt indrettet københavnerlejlighef.

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. I would especially like to highlight Christian, who was always friendly and attentive. Check-in was smooth and quick, and individual requests were handled right away. The breakfast was delicious and offered a good variety. The room and lobby were tastefully decorated, and the shared bathrooms were always clean. The only small downside was that the bed was a bit too firm for my taste – a softer mattress would have been more comfortable. Overall, highly recommended!

Hotellet var rigtig hyggeligt. Værelset og omgivelserne var definitionen af det Københavnske liv - så hvis man ønsker den stemning, er hotel Rye 115 det helt oplagte valg.

Morgenmaden var skøn og terrassen var fantastisk at sidde på.
