My partner and I felt extremely uncomfortable during our stay. The receptionist, Boubicar, was clearly homophobic and treated us with disrespect. When I reported this to the manager, she was dismissive and didn’t seem to care. I would not recommend this hotel, especially to LGBTQ guests.

This hotel is in an excellent location in Florence. It’s five mins walk to the duomo and most all other tourist attractions. The area around the hotel is full of amazing restaurants and bars. The hotel itself is brilliant. Rooms spotless and nicely furnished. We were on fourth floor snd had a double room. Bed was comfortable and everything was clean. Breakfast was limited but again very nice. Room the breakfast is in is stunning with a beautiful arch. Would highly recommend and is totally worth what you pay for it. Also recommend the bar across the street as well!

Always willing to help. The room was perfect for my purposes and was clean and very comfortable. Most of the staff spoke English and so communication was not a problem.

All common areas were immaculate and welcoming. The triple room I booked had three single beds squeezed into it with little floor space-should have been a single, or double at the most! Bathroom was barely big enough for one person. The flushing mechanism on the toilet was broken so that it ran full flush continuously. The front desk said they were unable to do anything about it because it was a weekend. They did manage to make it less bad, but still a problem. When I asked for compensation of some kind, I was told no.

The Hotel is location is excellent. It’s close to the train station and the center of the town. The only negative comment I have is that the noise outside of the hotel is very loud; from people talking and cars. I had to sleep with the windows closed and since the hotel shuts off the air conditioner in October, it gets hot in the room.

Lovely, approachable, helpful and friendly staff. The room was lovely and even though it was on a busy road, it was very quiet inside. The location of the hotel was excellent and approximate 6 minutes walking distance away from the station. All the main sight-seeing are within 2 minutes to 15 minutes walking distance. A selection of restaurants and pubs are 1 minute walk or very close to the hotel.

A jewel of a hotel, reasonably priced

I had no connection with the hotel and not knowing the city well had never heard the hotel name or the street name. The booking went without a hitch and when I arrived I realized it was not only a short walk from the station but also already in the A zone for sites of historical interest. In fact one major site, which I had read was recently the object of new studies and restoration, the Medici Chapels, is a few yards in front of the door. The Hotel presents well, with very courteous, friendly adult staff who know how to run a hotel, efficient and businesslike with welcoming, pleasant, not invasive conversation. No distracted au pairs too busy making eyes at one another to handle the clients. Reception round the clock. I asked for several items of tourist information and they gave me maps and explanations, marking things for me. I checked out early and left a bag. The room was small but easily adequate, very decently and professionally furnished. All immaculately clean. Some city background hubbub at night, but remarkably quiet. Lots of good places to eat nearby and no deserted or dark street to make you anxious, instead with a pleasant, lively atmosphere. A big open square with lots of young people sitting around, just round the corner. I was in town to meet up with old friends. The hotel price was modest so I didn'r know what to expect, but the whole experience was excellent. I will certainly return when occasion arises and would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone.

Hotel is in a perfect location next to San Lorenzo Church, and only a short 5 minute walk from the train station. Palazzo Benci is an overall nice hotel, spacious rooms and bathroom, nice staff. My only issues were that the shower was full of black mold. Not just one area, each wall had black mold. The other thing is, the hotel really needs to update their key system. Leaving the heavy key at the front desk and having to pick it up is very inconvenient. *IF THIS IS NOT UPDATED SHOULD BE ADVERTISED*

HORRIBLE!!!! The picture on this site makes the place look beautiful - but looks are definitely deceiving! Room was VERY small with a twin bed that was beyond uncomfortable with one flat pillow. Shower did not drain- water filled up fast. Temperature in the room was HOT!!! Air conditioning did not work. Had to leave the hotel and go to another since there was no way I would be able to stay the night in that small hot box! When I checked out they did not apologize and even charged me an additional tax on top of the room rate that I already paid. Was not a good way to end my stay in Florence.

Average hotel near San Lorenzo Market

The hotel was not impressive. The room was tiny, the bed not so comfortable (flat pillows) and no natural light. I was far from router, so the Wi-Fi signal was weak sometimes.
The breakfast was good, but not a culinary experience.
The staff was very nice and helpful.
The location was good. 10 minutes walk from central station (SMN), 15 minutes walk from Duomo, San Lorenzo Market just around the corner. There were some nice pubs and restaurants around.
Florence is very easy to walk around.
It was not a terrible place to be, but there are probably tons of hotels like this in Florence and I don't have a reason to recommend this one.

Near SMN Train Station

Conveniently located only 2-3 walkable blocks from the main train statin hub. If you are planning your own Italy vacation and coming into the city by train, this is a good location. It's right in the heart of the action. Very close to the Duomo and walkable to the Ponte Vecchio area. After several days in Roma, we used Florence as our base camp and did many day trips by train or bus tour. As many of the bus day tours meet at SMN train station, this location was ideal. Restaurants also abound everywhere around the the hotel as well.

An excellent location very close to most of the key sites. View of Medici chapel from breakfast room where a good range of food available. Friendly efficient staff, room well cleaned daily, comfortable room with all required for a 10 night stay for solo female traveller - felt safe. Although Expedia only booked smoking rooms, this was upgraded to a superior single on arrival. Good value for money.

I chose this hotel on based on the location and the reasonable price. However, on getting to the hotel we were given a very basic room with uncomfortable beds and a tiny bathroom.The room was hot and the air conditioning barely worked - we tried to open the windows to let in some cooler air, however this then let in the noises from the bars below so was not a good solution. In addition, the wifi signal was so weak that it was almost unusable. When we complained about this we were told \"this is not a business hotel, what do you expect\", as this was a suitable justification for not offering basic amenities such as wifi and air conditioning. Overall this was a very basic and disappointing hotel that was certainly not worth the cost. There are far better options in the area.

The Hotel is in of Florence in the middle between the Train station and the Duomo, so the location is great, the rooms were a good size, the room had two double glazed windows that blocked out all outside road noise, the buffet breakfast was normal Italian 3 star quality, but the hotel is all about the location which was great in the historic centre of Florence.

Good location, average accommodations but...

It's a pretty old place and the overall room, beds and bathroom reflect that. However, I sensed that was pretty much going to be what you will get if you stay right in downtown Florence, as all the other hotels looked similar from the outside at least.

The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful with any questions we had.

So not very fancy or comfortable but a convenient location.

Ok for a night

Had single room with tiny bathroom. Was only staying one night ,so it suited me. The room was very dark,but still ok. Fortunately the double glazed windows shut out all the noise below in Via Faenza. The aircon if you can call it that made fan noises-but didn't seem to make any difference to the room temperature. For the price for a night I would do it again,but for an extended stay-probably not.

Hotel Staff very rude and rooms with a lot of dust

Staff asked to keep my passport for the morning and when I asked why they simply said that everyone needs to do that and were very rude! I almost left the hotel at the time. They should now it is a very important document and you would be concerned in leaving it at the reception. Location is very good but would not recommend.

very convenient location

The location of this hotel is very good. It is near the train station and museums and it overlooks a pedestrian plaza with lots of small restaurants, sandwich shops and a gelato shop. It was quiet at night and the room was small but clean. The front desk is staffed 24/7. There is a beautiful breakfast room and a lavish continental breakfast. The price is a little higher but there are some special amenities like a courtyard, reliable elevator, and front desk service.

Great hotel in central Florence

I stayed one night in early September. I had a single, which was smaller than an American-style room, but it was a terrific room for just overnight. The bathroom was really large and and very clean. The room looked out onto a beautiful courtyard below. The hotel is a block from the Medici Chapels and a few blocks from the Duomo. I highly recommend this hotel.

Single room was small with a tiny bathroom. Quite near to railway station but if you are walking to the hotel and carrying heavy luggage, be aware of cobblestone streets which make even trolley luggage difficult. Location is good. Near most attractions with many food places around.

This was not a hotel. It was a motel, and at best, it was 2 stars. The rooms were old with stained carpeting and poor bedding that was uncomfortable, and the staff were arrogant. The toiletries they claimed to provide consisted of tiny packets of \"soap\" that required the use of several just to have enough lather to clean. I ended up bringing and using my own as what they provided was insufficient and they were loathe to replenish. Do not be fooled into paying for this, thinking you are getting a deal on a 3-4 star hotel (advertised as a 4 star when I booked it). Compare it to other 2-3 star places. Nicer locations to stay than by the Duomo, for first-time travelers to Florence.

The Hotel is a bit run-down and has an unpleasant smell. Carpet and facilities need a replacement to match the room charge it currently imposes. Location is good for tourists but have to be prepared for an extra 24 euro per day parking surcharge.

O hotel era muito bem localizado, perto da Duomo e da estação. Os quartos era reformados e muito confortaveis. Tinha café da manhã que era muito bom. Adoramos o hotel e super recomendo. Minha unica reclamação é que eles so trocavam as toalhas de 3 em 3 dias, e cobravam uma taxa se quisesse que trocasse antes. Mas super recomendo o hotel e ficaria novamente. Adoramos!

Karşısında sakin küçük bir meydan var çevresinde kafeler ve barlar bulunuyor, süpermarket yakın. Meydanda içme suyu için çeşme bulunuyor. Otel personeli kibar ve yardımseverdi. Kahvaltı oldukça güzeldi. El havlularıyla bide bezlerinin aynı yerde durmasını sevmedik. Tarihi bir bina olduğu için üstteki odadakilerinin ayak seslerini duyabiliyorsunuz. Genel olarak ziyaretimizden memnun kaldık, Floransa’da kalmak için kesinlikle tercih edilebilecek bir yer.

Ein schönes kleines Hotel mitten in Florenz. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind bequem zu Fuß zu erreichen. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und ruhig, das Personal immer freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Das Frühstück war sehr gut, alles da, was ein schönes Frühstück im Urlaub ausmacht.
Ein Spiegel im Zimmer wäre noch toll gewesen

Excellent location. Excellent staff. A decent 3 star hotel. In breakfast there could be some more options in hot products such as bacon, scrambled eggs or fried eggs.
