The hotel is in the perfect location for sight seeing. Walking distance to all the sights. The only thing that was bothersome was lack of air flow in the room. It was quite warm and very stuffy. However, the grandeur of the room made up for the minor inconvenience of it being stuffy.

i arrived to Florence from Assisi really sick, and having had my wallet stolen. I cannot imagine a more welcoming place than Hotel Burchianti. Giulia amd Marco (or Mario) are so professional and kind and made my stay there feel like coming home. I also absolutely love the boutique feel, the classical music and how tastefully attired the staff is. The juice, American coffee were plenty for me. The twin room is small but clean and the location is not to be beat. I spent one evening in a double which was also very special. I am grateful to this place and staff for helping me manage a bad flu in relative comfort!

Room was clean and surprisingly big. I found the bed comfy but husband didn’t. Staff was pleasant but we weren’t told breakfast was extra when we checked in, and the next morning the person in charge was 10 minutes late, so we had to wait for fresh coffee. Once he got situated he did make some pretty good cappuccino. But we had expected breakfast and weren’t even offered the option when checking in (we arrived mid afternoon). Also the shower situation in room 1, where we stayed, is quite strange. It’s a fold out shower, so not a wall structure. Very awkward for an adult to shower and no where to place bathing essentials like soap and shampoo, except on the floor. Shaving legs would have been impossible. Also, this wasn’t an issue for us, but between 7pm and 8 am the hotel is not staffed. So if there’s a problem, you need to text someone. For people expecting a full hotel experience, this is different. Otherwise location was great, very quiet at night, everything was very clean, and we loved our time in Florence!

We booked this hotel last minute and were really happy with our choice. The front desk staff were so kind and super helpful from the moment we checked in.

Our room was beautiful - high ceilings with a painted design, a comfortable bed, good air conditioning, and a clean bathroom with warm water and good water pressure. It even had a large soaking tub, which is pretty rare in Italy and felt like such a nice bonus after long days of walking around the city.

The building itself is old in the best way. It's full of character, well cared for, and very charming. The location is perfect for exploring Florence on foot, with plenty of sights, restaurants, and shops nearby.

Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting.

It was my birthday while there & my son & his partner arranged via Giulia beautiful flowers & champagne to be delivered to my room. Nothing was too much. Lovely place to stay in Florence easy walking distance from everything. Quiet and away from the crowds but blocks from everything. Beautiful decor and large room for a single. Excellent coffee (and tea) available in the lobby at all times.
It’s hard to find. No big garish sign outside. There is a small metal sign on the wall. It’s the first (or for Americans we would call it the second) floor only . Ring the bell to be buzzed in.
Front desk people very nice and helpful.
I will certainly stay here again

Wonderful location in beautiful boutique hotel! Less than 10 minutes walk from the train station and about 5 minutes from the Duomo. It's located in a historic building so the twin room itself was simple, yet clean and functional. The AC was an added bonus in the summer heat; there's also a lift to get to the second floor. The bathroom was very nice and had upscale fixtures which gave it an elegant feel. I only stayed one night, but reception was very friendly and breakfast was offered for an added fee

Location, history, and service.

The single room was as advertised: small, clean, air conditioned, and very reasonably priced for the area. The location was in the heart of the city center a short walk to everywhere. The BEST thing about this place by far is Mario who checked this poor American in and answered many questions. He is knowledgeable of the area and the history of the hotel. He will invite you for American coffee and is a true gem of a human being.

When you pay $325 for one night, you're pretty surprised that your towel is ripped along one edge. At home I'd find something like that in the rag bin. In general the room was clean, but the shower base had been neglected over the years and was rusty/grimey. The furniture is on the cheap side, with chairs that are not high enough for the table. Check-in is at 14:00, but I couldn’t get in until 15:05. So the hotel appears to be understaffed. (The capable young woman who was at the front desk at 14:00 was there preparing and serving breakfast--in the lobby--at 8:00 while having to break now and then to check out departing guests.

But if ceiling frescos are important to you, perhaps the other stuff won't bother you.

The staff was great, both housekeeping and the front desk staff spoke English well and were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was perfect: cappuccino, croissant and yogurt. I had a twin room which was small but had everything I needed. There are several restaurants on the same street which were delicious with friendly servers. It’s a 10 minute walk from the Duomo. Hotel Burchianti was a lucky find.

The other women working went above and beyond to make sure we felt like VIP. The hotel lobby and courtyard are beautiful. The room was lovely. Felt like we were staying in a Tuscan villa. I’ll start with the positives—great location, and Laura, the hostess/concierge, was lovely. She was lovely and very helpful and sweet. The ceilings/paintings in the rooms are beautiful and apparently date back to the 16th century, adding charm to the stay.

Now the negatives—extremely noisy. The walls are paper-thin, and you can literally hear everything. We stayed in Room 5, and could clearly hear noise from the main area, the street outside, and the rooms on both sides of us. The bed and mattress were also really old, creaky, and made noise whenever we moved. It felt like the furniture was from the 16th century too. The pillows were uncomfortable as well.
The worst part was dealing with Mario, one of the male staff members. He was rude and unpleasant. When I politely asked for earplugs and mentioned the noise from the mattress, he immediately became defensive and started speaking loudly to me. He said I was the first person to complain and could go read reviews that no one else had issues. He also claimed they didn’t provide earplugs because no one had ever reported noise problems. This was clearly untrue as other reviews mention the same issues.

For the price of the rooms, you'd think they’d invest in updating the beds, mattresses, and pillows. Hopefully, they’ll improve this and give Mario some basic training in customer service.

Located on the first floor of a typical Florentine residential building this place spoke of elegance from the moment I entered. An extremely friendly and efficient lady checked me in early and look after my bags which she kindly offered to move to my room once it was free. The decor is beautiful here and my room, though small (you get what you pay for), was comfortable. Good quiet sleep was provided courtesy of blockout blinds. The bathroom was well appointed. It's a 5 minute walk from the railway station and about 10-15 mins to the Duomo and the Arno. It made my stay easy. Directly downstairs is a local style restaurant that was brilliant.

The hotel is very nice and upon entering you feel like you're in a 5 star hotel. The lobby is very nicely decorated and the staff is attentive and wants to make you feel welcome. The rooms are small but this is to be expected in Italy. The only issue I had was the strange layout of the bathroom. The toilet was in the shower, which is something I've never experienced before. I know the room is small but this could have been planned a little better. There is a bidet which is outside the shower and would have made more sense to swap places with the toilet. Also, the light switch for the bathroom was across from the door hidden under the hair dryer. Other than those minor flaws the hotel was great. It is close to the train station and the duomo, so getting where you want to go is easy. I would definitely recommend the Hotel Burchianti

As a woman travelling alone, I felt super safe at Hotel Burchianti. The staff were so friendly and made me feel at ease. They also let me leave my bags at the hotel after I checked out which meant I was able to visit one more museum before my flight home.
The hotel is in a brilliant location. Generally Firenze is very walkable and, although the hotel appears in the corner of the city, it's just minutes from most major locations. It's also a few minutes walk from Unita tram stop which has direct trains to the airport. So the location is great for all needs.
I only mark down due to the tired room. The bathroom needs a bit of love, especially the leaky tap. The room was basic but I feel this is reflected in the price. If the hotel is able to renovate the room a little then this would be a 5* review and I think hugely elevate the overall experience.
That said, though, I'd certainly recommend Hotel Burchianti.
Thank you for a lovely stay. I'm missing Florence immensley!

What a lovely place to stay. Our room was lovely and spacious. The staff very friendly. The location was excellent!

Only thing we would change is then AC was a little slow to cool off such a large room with high ceilings but would stay here again.

Was a great Florence experience!

The place felt more like bed & breakfast than hotel. The staff was extremely warm and attentive. We stayed in a room for 4 and it was very spacious - 2 queen size beds and it had its own original fresco on the celling. It had its own charm and history.
