An absolutely amazing place to stay in Florence. The staff were always kind and helpful. The room had a beautifully painted ceiling and the cleaning service always made the rooms spotless. Walking distance to everything - about a 3 minute walk to the Santa Maria cathedral (the Duomo). Breakfast was always delicious and the staff even remembers the guests coffee/tea orders. So considerate.

As it is an older building, the walls are thin. Be prepared to hear other people in their rooms talking or a baby crying.

Highly recommend and would go back in a heartbeat!

Disappointed stay.

Paid more for a queen bed and twin and sofa bed. Staff would not honor accommodation and would not reduce charge. Requested add'l toilet paper and towels but staff would only accommodate for add'l charge. Staff helpful but rude. Room spacious but inside building appearance tired and old. Hall rugs extremely old and worn. Photos not recent and misleading. Excellent location but would not stay here again.

They have some rooms on the opposite side of the building that you can only reach by going down in the elevator, crossing the courtyard, and going up again in another elevator. That's where the Topazio room is. It was a great single room, L-shaped with a day bed in addition to the regular twin. TV channels minimal, but great AC, thank god. Breakfast is small but fine, served in reception area. You do have to buzz at the entrance to get into the hotel, and then they give you a fob to use while you're there.

The ceiling was painted in lovely colors with flowers and 2 beautiful women. This had to be 150 years old or more. The building was from 1500, said the owner. The location was very handy. Our breakfast provided many choices and was very tasty. I would stay here again definitely.

Fantastic location! For that reason alone I would recommend this B&B.

The room was large however the bed wasn’t very comfortable. The breakfast wasn’t the best and the staff was nice but didn’t go out of their way to make recommendations when asked.

Pleasant stay in a great, central location!

We had a wonderful stay at Alloro B&B, where we were welcomed by the owners from the start. Great location for access into the centre of Florence, with plenty of good restaurants nearby too.
Lovely breakfast every morning which always ensured a great start to the day!

This was the worst place to stay in that I have ever experienced! The pictures they show online to get you to stay there are very nice but it's not real. The staff is less than friendly, are unavailable to give any service and frankly don't care. When I called from my room for assistance I was hung up on! The walls are paper thin and you hear everything in every room!! Be prepared for no sleep if you stay here as you won't get any! It's way more expensive than other nice hotels you can stay at in Florence. Don't book your stay here, go somewhere else!

Amazing specious Hotel at the Heart of Florence !. High Ceilings, Old building with air conditioning and modern facilities.
The host was so friendly and welcoming. Only couple of mins walks from all the attractions.

We absolutely loved it, and will come back here next time we are in Florence.

The Alloro B&B was perfect for us. It was in a great location, within a few minutes walk to the Duomo. The room was clean and the large bed very comfortable. Breakfast was one of the best we had in Italy and their service was excellent. We would stay here again if we were to come back to Florence.

Great B&B occupying the third floor of a typical Italian residence, ideally located not far from Santa Maria Novella train station.
Our room was deal and very clean, older styled decor, but nice. En-suite bathroom with great shower! Breakfast good and all the staff were very nice.
Slightly noisy from the street below even with the shutters closed and I was glad I had taken my ear plugs although my husband was ok with it, but you are in the centre of Florence! All in all I would definitely return.

We loved staying at Alloro BnB! The location was superb, just a short walk from the train station, and also an easy walk to the city centre and all of Florence's wonderful attractions. Directly above some fantastic restaurants, close to a lively square and market, we just loved staying here. The staff was very helpful, let us check-in early and leave our bags in the lobby for a few hours before and after checkout which was very helpful for us! They also booked us a time at Uffizi gallery in advance. The breakfast was amazing!! felt so lovely to come home to this place after a busy day exploring Florence. would definitely stay there again!!!

This is a wonderful B & B. It's a few minutes walk from the train station and the Duomo is a 5 minute walk from Alloro. Breakfast had a good selection. Our room was huge.

I was super excited about this cute little B&B. But start to finish I was disappointed. It’s incredibly difficult to find, the entrance isn’t to the hotel itself but a hallway that leads to a complex with different businesses. The elevator to get to the floor where check-in is incredibly small and I could barely fit my one bag and myself. Then the rooms aren’t even in the same building where you check in, you have to go back downstairs, outside, across the courtyard and take another elevator. You are also given three separate keys one for the gate, one for your hallway, and one for your room. My room was the little yellow twin bed in the photos, but what wasn’t pictured on the Expedia website was the bathroom which uses the floor as the shower which left everything wet and humid. Over all the room wasn’t as clean or nice as I expected. I also had an issue with how hot it was, when I first arrived I brought to the managers attention that I couldn’t get the air to work and he told me it’s turned off for the season and then wanted to argue with me about it, even though it was close to 80 degrees. I literally had to ask for a bowl of ice that I put in a baggie to lay on. At night I tried to sleep with the window open but got eaten alive by mosquitos, also church bells start going off around 7am which woke me up whether the window was open or not. The WiFi is also weird, it wants you to agree to connect to your social media or private accounts which is inappropriate.

Located in the heart of all the things to see and close to the train station. Small room, but why stay in the room when you are in Florence. Bed comfort okay. Only issue was the shower curtain that seemed to come alive when taking a shower. Water goes all over the floor when trying to straighten the curtain. The curtain would \"attack\" me by clinging to my legs. Would be best if they invested in the doors that slide around the small rectangular area of the shower.

Nice place to stay and close to everything!

Wonderful stay overall. We had room 53 which was large and had a big shower. Water pressure was good and hot. Heat was good but it was hard to control temperature. The left unit had a very squeaky fan that bothered us at night sometimes. The breakfast exceeded our expectations with many choices of fruits and vegetables, as well as meats and cheeses and even smoked salmon. We had a courtyard room so no noise from street but did hear noise from neighbors in the evening. Things that could be improved: earlier breakfast (currently starts at 8am), bigger safe (it cannot fit most tablet computers), wifi requires credentials from social media which is not safe, also drops out on occasion but speed is good. TV is about as tiny as could be! Need a backup battery powered night light in the hallway. We had to leave before dawn and it was pitch black! Also not safe in emergency! Would be nice to have a nicer blanket and a do not disturb sign.

A comfortable and enjoyable place to stay in Florence within walking distance of the train station and major tourist sites. Comfortable and clean room with good service - I was pleasantly surprised when they delivered laundry directly to our room. The only drawback I can see is part of its strong points - its close to everything but that can make it somewhat loud at night.

Lovely b&b in city centre.

Alloro is 5 mins from train station and 5 mins walk from Il Duomo. Our welcome was warm and informative.
Our room was fine much bigger than one we had been in Rome. The owner apologised that we wld have to move after first night. We were amazed when we saw new room. It was 8 mtres by 7 mtres with 3 big windows. The hotel has 11 rooms and a lot of character.
Great location and the breakfast is as good as it gets for continental.
We plan to use as a base next year to visit Pisa and Sienna.

very happy with our stay!

We have stayed this BnB two days in May and really enjoyed it very much!!
The place is beautiful and well maintained, with very good buffet breakfast. the service is wonderful, especially Christian at front desk was very helpful and attentive. our room has very nice view and balcony which made our stay even precious. we highly recommended this one.

So wonderful. Right around the corner from The Medicci and the rest of Florence's rich history. The staff was amazing - great breakfast. Our room was quiet with a view of the dome of the Medicci chapel. Wonderful bath - with a nice shower and all. Thank you Christin.

Not special, confusing labyrinth to rooms

This was advertised to be in an old palazzo which it was, but you first have to get through a large iron gate in the entryway. You have to call the hotel to tell them to buzz you in, then go up many flights of stairs to get to the \"desk\" because there is also another hotel in that same building. My room was almost impossible to get to - felt like it might have originally been the servant's attic room. Very small and very, very confusing to get to. Down stairs, then either up or down more stairs depending on whether or not you were going outside or to the dining room/desk, then take an elevator to 1 floor down, more steps, a different elevator. Just ridiculous to try to figure out. Tiny bathroom with no outlet. The view is a wall and a piece of rooftop. Bed is hard and pillow like a rock. Very depressing and discouraging. The dining room/sitting room/front desk/kitchen is fixed up nicely, and breakfast ok but just basics, nothing special. The staff is ok, some are very accommodating, others not so much. I came very close to moving to another hotel, but as bum as this hotel turned out to be, it was too much trouble to move and maybe have to go up and down more steps, etc.

tell state it was one of the best parts of my vacation the staff speaks every language especially English very Well. The manager was especially concerned with helping me get my suitcase back show me how to use the phone as well as speaking to Agent's in Italian for me.

Beware of Limited Hot Water and No Heating!

One of the few positive factors of this hotel is its location. The hotel is centrally located so shops and most attractions are all within walking distance. The rooms are also a decent size which is rare when travelling in Europe. However, the positive factors do not outweigh the negatives. For the first two days we stayed at the hotel, there was no heat. Since it was October in Italy, we definitely required heat especially at night to sleep properly. We were freezing and even got sick from the lack of heat in our rooms. When we inquired about the heat, the hotel stated they would turn it on from 6 pm to midnight only. So, obviously it was a cost issue for them. However, the lobby of the hotel was always warm where they worked so it was ironic and reflects their priorities. Another negative factor was the limited hot water. If you come back to the hotel in the evening and shower after 8 pm, you will have a very difficult time getting a hot shower. You have about 5 minutes of hot water then it starts to turn colder and colder and colder until you are showering in ice cold water. So, we had to wake up early every morning to get a decent shower. I assume the hot water tank is shared between all the rooms and the hot water tank does not hold a sufficient amount of hot water. Thus, if you come home late, you don't get a hot shower before bedtime!! When we inquired, there was really no response as they couldn't do anything about it.

Very convenient for station and other tourist destinations. Stayed one night in basic but comfortable single room. Quirky layout in old fashioned but charming building with friendly helpful staff. Excellent breakfast, covering every nationality's preferences. Wi-fi only obtainable through social media.

This place surprised us with how nice and big it was. The staff is so friendly and the breakfast was delicious! Perfect way to start each day. We felt extremely safe here since there are multiple keys needs to access the room. It was far away enough from the noise that it was pleasant, but not too far from everything that we felt away from all the action.

Room was big, bed was big, and the bathroom had a great tub.

Aloro did not appear as depicted online. Our triple room was extremely small and we did not have hot water for a shower the first day, but the remaining days did improve. The breakfast is highlighted by delicious homemade yogurt with fruit and muesli. The staff is very polite and accommodating..

Beautiful, historic rooms- each is unique and equipped with modern conveniences. Also surprisingly spacious! We were very pleased with the front desk service and the breakfast provided each day. I have stayed at the Alloro many years ago and is my \"go to\" place when I visit Florence. I am thrilled to see that they have grown and prospered and expanded. The proprietors are great people driven to provide excellent customer service.
Kudos to the housekeeping staff for being quick and efficient.
Overall a great stay, great location to be near everything within walking distance.

Great location and fabulous customer service.

I can not thank the staff at the Alloro enough for their friendliness and assistance they gave me with my individual interests and needs on seeing their fabulous city.
I was contacted prior to my arrive with ideas to enhance my state. Museums and tours were encluded. This helped tremendously in my scheduling and planning of my day.
The hotel reviews had been excellent which was why I picked this hotel.
They did not disappoint and instead exceeded my expectation.

One of the most comfortable Hotels

It is one of the most comfortable Hotels I even stayed. Their breakfast was rich and nature. Their location is located squarely in the downtown Florence, not too far away from the train station. The room was tidy and clean while it also well equipped with some of the antique wooden furnitures in their hotel room. If we visit Florence again, definitely we will stay there, again!

I love florence

We loved staying at Alloro! We had 6 people and 2 rooms which were so quaint that my 14 yr old son said it was the most amazing part of our trip to Italy. The room was clean and made us feel like we were in a movie with windows opening up overlooking the street. There sometimes was some street noise but we didn't care. The breakfast was perfect every morning and the location was perfect for us, right near the Duomo and train station. We will be back for sure!

This is a nice and cute B&B in Florence within the walking distance to anywhere! We loved this B&B hotel. Room decoration will take you back to the old Florence town wit fresco painting on the walls. Shower is a bit small but everything is nice for the budget B&B in Florence.

Average accommodation in good location

Situated in a good location, the Alloro is suitable for those who do not mind average accommodation and a very light continental breakfast. Unfortunately, the bathroom plumbing was noisy, the chairs and cushions were soiled and street noise during the night made our stay uncomfortable. I would not recommend this experience.
