The staff we're so lovely! The rooms were very spacious and the bed was so comfortable but the rooms were SO hot at night even though it was February. The only way to cool them down was to open the window. While the windows are incredible at shutting out the sound, it's very loud outside so it was either stifling hot and quiet or extremely loud and a good temperature. There also isn't enough room for the guests at breakfast so we did have to sit outside while it was raining a bit for one of our breakfasts. The girls working in the breakfast area were really great though!
Because of that we were glad it was only a 2 night stay, but otherwise the hotel was good!

It’s only a short walk from the main Santa Maria Novella terminus, so reduced my stress about train, tram and bus times. Staff were super friendly and welcoming, always smiling and happy to help with anything. The rooms were beautiful, well stocked, clean, bright and big! Great views from all 3 rooms we booked. The late checkout (12pm) was a game changer in terms of maximising our final morning in Florence.

We had a wonderful stay at B&B Hotel Firenze Laurus al Duomo! The location is excellent—quiet yet very central, within easy walking distance to the almost all historic sights. The room was clean, comfortable. The breakfast included is a buffet and the food is very delicious view is incredible on the 6th floor roof top. At there, you can easily see Duomo di Firenze. The hotel also upgraded our room for free. We truly appreciated and would happily stay here again!

The hotel is EXCELLENTLY located, less than two blocks from Il Duomo. The staff was amazing and friendly (Simona, Wael and Larissa) I booked two rooms for my wife and I, and my in-laws, and each room was greeted with a wine bottle. The breakfast buffet was delicious with many options to eat, and we had a super COOLING A/C that made the room extra COMFORTABLE to sleep. So far in our vacation, this room provided the best sleep. With all this said, the only reason the property did not get a 5 star rating was because they no longer have the rooftop terrace open at night. When we stayed there in May 2022, it was available for people to go up and have wine, tapas, and enjoy the AMAZING and CLOSE view of Il Duomo, one of the main reasons I chose to stay once again here. I'm very sure other guests will enjoy this hotel because it is great, but since I experienced it when night rooftop access was possible, this time around I couldn't give it 5 stars 😒

Our review is based on six nights stayed at this hotel. Positives: excellent location near the Duomo complex which made it convenient for walking around the city. The room was serviced everyday (big plus), and bed was comfortable. Negatives: the room itself was very small, dark, furnished and crowded with dated and useless furniture. There wasn't enough space for us to place and open our suitcases, so we had to improvise by moving a side table inside the tiny closet to have some access to our clothes. The bathroom was shameful, the partial glass shower door was not attached to the bathtub, therefore, it was subject to flooding the floor whenever we showered. There was a wand instead of a shower head. Again, it was dated and very uncomfortable. Not sure how this hotel got such a high rating \"Wonderful 9.2\" in Expedia, and it claims to have been recently remodeled. But honestly, it doesn't pose as such. The carpets in the hallways and stairs were worn out, the upper terrace was uninviting because of the pigeon's droppings all over the place, staff was semi-friendly - depending on who was working the front desk. In our humble opinion, this property should be an 8.3 rating or 8.5 at most. It is important to note that the pictures shown online don't depict the truth, they are misleading and deceiving.

B&B Hotel Firenze Laurus al Duomo Is a good quality hotel that is located in a great position to explore the sights of Florence, around 200m from the Duomo and within easy walking distance to the major tourist sites, also within walking distance of the train station for those who are flying into Pisa and transferring to Florence by train.
Rooms were comfortable and of a good size, bed was comfortable and shower was excellent, breakfast was plentiful although a little limited but certainly adequate for starting of your day. Although the hotel is situated in a busy part of Florence the room was quiet and did not suffer from street noise.
Staff at the hotel were helpful and were ready to give recommendations on where to eat.
I would not have any hesitation in recommending this hotel for anyone who wants to visit this beautiful city.

- Location;
- Room/bathroom is a reasonable size; and
- Reliable wi-fi.

Cons:

- This is never a 4* hotel, it’s 3* at best;
- The decor is pretty tired & fairly basic;
- The walls are very thin, meaning you can hear a fair amount of noise from the corridor & the room(s) next to you;
- There is no bar, despite the hotel description saying there is;
- The roof terrace is accessed via the breakfast room, which is closed/locked in the afternoon & evening; and
- We did not receive our free bottle of wine & there was no mention of consideration being given to a room upgrade (both benefits of being a Hotels.com gold member & this supposedly being a VIP hotel).

We had a wonderful stay for 6 nights. The hotel is in a great location - near the train station and all of the historic landmarks of central Florence. Our room had a great view of the dome of the Medici Chapels and you can see the Duomo from the outside breakfast area. The rooms are great and clean; breakfast is delicious (and heartier than you typically see at European hotels); and the staff is exceedingly nice. The front desk staffer even fetched his own personal wine cork to help us open a bottle. 10/10 - would absolutely stay at again.

So I arrived at this hotel after a 2 hour train journey, it was close to the train station which was good but I arrived 10 minutes before check in and told I would have to wait. So I waited and 40 mins after I got my key. But then at the night I realised the bed was equivalent to lying on concrete also the amount of noise was astounding. Also you can hear everyone bang there doors as the storm out to breakfast at 7:30am I was also situated opposite the lift and stairs but surely I wouldn’t be able to hear both from in my room well think again. After being given a mattress topper for the second night I managed to get 5 hours sleep (even with all the noise) and woke up with a stiff back. The manager seemed friendly enough but after the first night the ship had already sailed. No soundproofing in the rooms and the worst bed I’ve ever slept on. Also not VIP treatment so I don’t see why Expedia say that! I also got charged €3 for a can of Coca Cola. So what looked like a promising stay at a nice hotel ended in me never setting foot in Florence again… don’t be fooled by all the 10/10 reviews like I was

The initial check in was fine, service was average at the front. The place was mostly clean. Double windows helped to block out street noise. The bed/pillows were very uncomfortable, and the room in the evening was extremely hot (despite the air conditioning being set to 16degrees and high, definitely didn’t feel like it worked, so made the evening very unpleasant to sleep). Breakfast was a continental breakfast, it would be nice to have had a proper coffee and juice (instead of machines) for the price you pay for the stay. Good location, close to everything. Room wasn’t made up (despite having “please make up room” sign on the door for the day).

Location is nearly impossible to beat and, generally, the hotel is clean and well run. Staff is great. Shower water pressure was low, but otherwise, our room was good.

One major issue was that Google Maps took us to the wrong location when we tried to find the hotel, approximately 2 blocks away. If you are unfamiliar with the area, this hotel can be very difficult to locate because of this (especially in the rain like us). Hotel staff is aware of the problem and, with a simple phone call, will help navigate you to the right spot. They are at Google's mercy re: fixing the problem...so while it's inconvenient, it isn't their fault.
