The location and hotel itself are great. Shower, beds and staff were good. However, my sister and I were traveling alone and there were a lot of young men hanging around surrounding businesses. They were loud and just hanging out until at least midnight or later. Felt a bit sketchy.

The room was fine, newly renovated, clean, but the rest if the place needs a good cleaning. The attendant was efficient and welcoming.
The neighborhood residents hung out, talking very loud most of the night. When we finally got to sleep, we were awakened by an ambulance attending to an OD below our window.
We selected this place because it appeared decent in the pictures, it was close to the car rental and we had an early morning train. Given the ease of the public transportation, my suggestion is to look elsewhere.

Convenient location to the Caen rental car offices

If it's convenience to the train station and rental car offices you need, this could be the right place for you. It was easy to find and just a few doors down to all of the major car rental offices. It is practical and good for a one night stay. You can add a breakfast for a reasonable fee. The check-in host was fluent in both French and English.

The hotel itself was clean and \"satisfactory\", but the area was not one I would want to be out in at night. I know it's near the train station, but it felt especially unsafe. The clerk running the front desk seemed \"out of it\". We asked for a fan, which he was happy to bring up to the room, but he LET HIMSELF IN to deliver it. As two women staying in the hotel alone, it felt VERY unsafe.

Clean and comfortable hotel in Caen!

Stayed two nights at Hotel Mary’s. The staff were very helpful and willing to call taxis etc.
Although I travelled alone I booked a double room. It was quite small for two people, but fine for me. The room had good facilities with everything you could need. The bed was very comfortable and I slept very well on both nights.
Everything was extremely clean, especially the bathroom! Fantastic shower, powerful and hot!
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a reasonably priced hotel in Caen!

Nice homey hotel.
A few hundred meters directly sycamore across from the Caen train station crosswalk.
- Food, shopping, walking near by
- Quiet and peaceful
- Fluent English and French spoken

This is an old-school, traditional French hotel, clean, friendly, with no elevator, AC, or bell hop.

Stayed during a record breaking heat wave and it was comfortable. Ask Mary for the local map and have her mark the train tracks and hotel.

Very comfortable and clean, perfectly situated for the station and trams, and an easy walk into the town centre. The decorators were working in the hallways as we left, and when I reported a non-functioning shaver socket Mary made a note straightaway to get it fixed. Mary was extremely helpful with recommending places to eat and visit. (No evening meals available in the dining room, but breakfast was good.)

The most unique quality of this hotel has to be the service and sincere effort provided by the owner. She is without question the most efficient, knowledgeable and helpful hotel receptionist we have met in our many travels.

There is nothing of importance to be critical of. The only thing we can think of would be a small \"stick-on\" or suction shelf yo hold toiletries while showering.

After travelling for 7 weeks we stayed here the night before going to Paris, as it was across the road from the train station. The Owner Mary was an absolute delight and really made our stay! So friendly and helpful and the breakfast for €8 was perfect and great value. Very comfortable bed and the best pillows. One of our best finds with convenience and comfort. Easy 15 tram trip into the old town and to Abbaye aux Hommes. 25 min. walk back to the hotel. Lots of places to eat nearby.

Very helpful staff - she went to great lengths to recommend various restaurants to us and point out their locations/names on a map. She also took our bag up to our room. We were able to store our bags before check in and after check out with no concern.

The room was very clean and looked newly renovated. The manager was amazing and so helpful to us. She provided us feedback on places to go see in the area. It was close to the bus and train station so was somewhat loader. Also, it is right next to a bar that one evening was very loud and there was a ruckus that police came to attend to. We wish the location was better but it worked for the 2 days that we were there.

This was perfect for us. It was a super clean room at a fair price with a bilingual Canadian proprietor who went out of her way to be helpful. Additionally the car rental agency was about 30 meters away and the train station was about 50 meters. Tip: take the breakfast, good food and lots of coffee. Negatives: the room is small and there is construction in the area.

Very nice hotel in close proximity to the train/bus station. Excellent service in orienting me to the area and providing maps, discount coupons, and restaurant guidance. The breakfast while simple is very good and includes excellent American coffee. If you like sushi, suggest dining at the next door restaurant. Overall an excellent value.

Peu de services ; pas de fontaine à eau, pas de climatisation ou même de ventilateur, pas d’ascenseur pour monter au étage. L’hôtel est propre mais pour le prix, il manque des services.
Si vous êtes véhiculé il peut être difficile de stationner à proximité.
Cependant il faut noter que l’hôtel est propre et confortable et plutôt silencieux.

Un hôtel très très basique... Pas de réception, personne à l'entrée... même au petit déjeuner il n'y avait aucun service!
Par ailleurs, les chambres sont mal isolées et l'on entend les bruits des autres chambres !
Pour le prix que j'ai payé je m'attendait à mieux... Très déçu par ce séjour, j'ai même quitté l'Hôtel une nuit en avance et perdu ce que j'avais déjà réglé ! 😠😡

Depuis plusieurs semaines , il y a un individu à la réception de l'hôtel , qui ne parle pas le français , qui ne s'occupe absolument pas du service ( que l'on est en attente de recevoir au vu du prix de la chambre ) , pas de petit déjeuné , réception fermée à 20 h . personne ( même après plusieurs coup de sonnette ) le matin ( sauf quand cette personne se déplace en pyjama ) . Pour ma part je ne reviendrais pas dans cet hôtel , pourtant cela fait 3 ans que j'y réside lors de mes fréquents passages à Caen . désolé .

Chambre et salle de bains toujours bien. Par contr le personnel a changé. A mon arrivée la personne à l'accueil ne parlait pas un mot de français. Au petit-déjeuner personne et il restait juste un morceau de pain et un croissant ! A 8h15 la même personne que la veille est arrivée en pyjama à l'accueil je lui ai expliqué en anglais qu'il me fallait une facture et normalement je devrais la recevoir par mail. Je pense que la prochaine fois je changerai d'hôtel car vraiment ce n'est plus comme avant.

Traveling on business and stayed there as many of the hotels in town were fully booked.

You get what you pay for. It’s a small basic hotel that does the job for a quick overnight stay.

There wasn’t anyone at the counter when I came in so had to ring the bell. Someone eventually came to serve me and he was nice and quickly gave me my key to the room. Can’t say much more about the service as didn’t see anyone after that.

- bed was comfortable .

Cons
- bad area of the city. A lot of people hanging out and doing drugs around the hotel. Would avoid going out at night
- no AC
- no elevator
- foul odor coming from the bathroom

Hotel formidable en face de la gare

Mon train en provenance de Paris ayant été retardé, je suis arrivé très tard à l'hôtel. Un coup de téléphone à la réception m'a permis de m'enregistrer rapidement. L'hôtel est idéalement situé en face de la gare. Les chambres sont modernes et confortables. Le petit déjeuner est copieux. Le personnel est aimable et serviable.
Je recommande vivement l'hôtel Mary's.

Une quantité impressionnante de migrants...de dealers qui vous aborde près de l hotel...
Aucune place de stationnement a proximité.
Cerise sur le gâteau..des travaux dans l hôtel bruyants en après-midi.
Par contre tres propre...chambre petite mais confortable....et in petit déjeuner
