Booking and checkin was very easy and convenient. There is covered and semi secure parking at location. We tried calling ahead to see if we could reserve, but no one answered the phone. Rooms were plain, but comfortable and fairly close to the city center without breaking the bank.

Wow, how to ruin what should have been a good trip. The condition of the rooms, whether ‘refurbished’ or not, were rubbish. The breakfast was hardly worth £1, and the laundry service was an absolute con. The air conditioning is only turned on when they decide it’s warm enough, not when you want it on demand. The shower leaks, the flooring is terrible, the windows don’t have their safety catches (need to know this if you have kids), and the whole thing just sucked. I’ve left great reviews across the rest of this European holiday, but this was the pits.

All told, if your budget allows you to get an alternative, do it.

This hotel was perfect for us, being situated right by Heroes square and Vajdahunyad Castle meant that we got to get photos when it was all lit up at night when there were no crowds!

It is also a short 10 minute walk over to Széchenyi Thermal Baths which is cheaper if you arrive between 7 and 9am so was perfect as we got to go around all the different pools, saunas and steam rooms and drop off our wet clothes at the hotel before heading off to explore the rest of the day!

The hotel is right by the main metro line you need to get to the main districts in Budapest although it is also walkable if you would prefer. Budapest is big though so if you are on a tighter schedule the metro is really convenient!

The room was big, clean and modern and the shower room.was has a powerful shower, although the hairdryer is a bit useless (it takes forever to dry your hair)!

It was OK.

The room was fine. The service was fine. It is very close to Hero's Square and the part, which is nice.
It is a new hotel so I was surprised at how little room there was around the toilet. We essentially had to sit on it sideways. It would seem that a new hotel would have created a bit more room in the toilet.

Vents shared with upstairs, could hear their crying baby and singing. Breakfast had a limited selection and was the same everyday, if you’re vegetarian or eat halal you will have a hard time to find anything to eat except bread or cereal. Lack of staff, no one to greet us in the morning at reception or to check us in for breakfast so anyone could walk through. Paid extra for breakfast for no reason it seems. Some staff were not very friendly, 3 young girls chatting and gossiping at the front desk, was a bit uncomfortable waiting for them to finish laughing and talking to ask something. It was unprofessional. Pros: lots of plug sockets and Wi-Fi was good and reliable.

I enjoyed my stay with one exception: water pressure in the shower was terrible, and on one day (a Sunday) there was no hot water at 8am. (At noon, there was.) For that reason, I will be very reluctant to stay here again. (I assume there was no hot water on Sunday because the hotel was full, but not on the other days. But water pressure was very low all seven days.)

Overall, excellent hotel for the value. Staff is friendly, professional, super helpful. The breakfast spread was fantastic. There were 2 hiccups, one morning a the hot water tank had issues (they fixed it right away) and last night the AC was not working properly. By then there was about 9 days straight 100 Fahrenheit in Budapest, so we were not surprised for the disruption of AC service. I will return on my next trip, for sure.

the breakfast was very poor. the hotel is not maintained well. one of the 2 elevators was out of service. and the second one broke down and stayed of of service for up to 15 min. the next day the room was not cleaned . a notice on the door, \"clean my room\" was turned around to \"do not disturb\". neither my friends room was cleaned.

If you have to stay 2 nights it's ok, but if more ,not recommend. No heat, no amenities ,no wash cloth provided, breakfast is not worth 9 euros, TV have only few channels, no daily cleaning service, you have to ask receptionist for clean towels, not enough storage in the room. For 11 days stay, never change bed sheets. You can stay there only in emergency situations.

I would reccomend this hotel.

Room was neat, clean, bed wasnt the most comfortable but that's my back that needs special mattress. Also in could have used an extra pillow but I didnt bother asking for one since I stayed only one night. We had breakfast that was included, it was delicious. Only complaint is that there were few ants in our room. Staff asked right away if I want a new room but I declined. I know in these brick and concrete buildings it is quite usual. Staff came and sprayed it with non toxic repellent. Still saw a few the next morning but it didnt bother me that much. Everything is close. You wont find anything better for the price by the Heroes Square

The hotel is very good value. The rooms are spacious and the staff are very friendly. Although a bit of a distance from the centre of town and the river, the hotel is well situated for public transport and within walking distance of Heroes Square. There are also a number of cafes and restaurants in the area (including one within the hotel itself).

While not located in the heart of the city, the hotel is two blocks from metro line 1 that travels directly down main boulevard to city center. Rooms are clean and suitable for moderate length stays. Staff was friendly and very helpful. I would definitely recommend for budget conscious travelers.

The reception staff wasn’t particularly friendly which is surprising as I travel to Budapest fairly often and find the people in general helpful and friendly. No Frills Everything You Need Hotel

This hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff is fantastic! It has everything you need to make a great trip in Budapest. It's conveniently located right across the street from Heroes Square. The only thing that struck me odd was the towel situation. You only get 2 large bath towels- no hand towels and more importantly no wash cloths. I ended up using the corner of one large towel to wash my face. Lol!

We found that the hotel was upto the standard we were expecting for the price. It was clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the bus stopped outside going strait into the centre of the city (10 mins), the Metro was only 100 metres away and again went strait into the city centre (7 mins). The bar/restaurant was clean and comfortable, breakfast was good. Would definately come back.

The hotel itself is fine, if you are familiar with mid-tier hotels in Europe this is pretty standard in terms of room size, accommodations, available amenities, etc. Small safe in room (phone/tablet/passport but not laptop sized), relatively small but decently comfortable beds, friendly staff, bar service, decent breakfast buffet, free wifi. What makes this property stand out is location. It's extremely close to Heroes' Square, Varosliget, the Museum of Fine Arts (closed until 2018), and the Museum of Applied Arts and Design. Easy walking distance to all of those, and to the subway system.

The IBIS is in a very nice area

I was out most of each day, but it was always a pleasure to return to the hotel.
Also, I am pleased to see that the bar menu has improved hugely compared to 2014.
I ate my dinner in the restaurant almost every evening. When you have been busy in the day you don't always feel like going out again in the evening, especially when you are 80+!!
I hope to bring my family back next year

Good value hotel with great transport links

Although this hotel isn't in the city centre itself its easy to get to many places by foot. If walking isn't your cup of tea then the hotel is right near a major metro line that's connects the other metro lines and tram routes.
Great value hotel that is your best bet for a good nights sleep.

Our stay was very relaxing at the ibis Budapest Heroes Square and our room was very clean and comfortable however we did feel that the room should have been carpeted as we could hear the people above us walking around. The reception staff were very helpful, professional and accommodated any of our needs. That said some of the catering staff lacked this professionalism. The hotel was close to local amenities, places of interest and public transport which was useful to get to the city centre. Overall a good hotel!

Perfect location for a city visit

We arrived very late but this was no problem,staff helpful and friendly. Room clean and amazingly comfortable bed. No need to book breakfast, turn up and sign when required on the day. For long stays the breakfast could become boring.
There is no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but thet bar serves coffee/tea without having the breakfast.
Free fast WIFI and tv with English news Channel
One minute from Heroes Squere one of the main attractions and walking distance from the amazing Széchenyi bath.
The 120 years old underground is two minutes walk which takes you in the centre in ten minutes.
A small bar is open 24hours but if you want to tip be aware a 7% service charge is already added to the bar bill.
There is a small carpark by the main entrance also there is one underground. They are both very secure but there is a daily charge of €12.
