The first room we were assigned already had someone in it which we discovered only after unlocking the door. The room was disgusting, stains on the floor, headboards were indescribable. Bathroom door had a hole in which looked like a fist had gone trough it. The latch on the entry door was broken. Holes in the door had holes around it. The water only got to luke warm at best. Terrible smell. Trash in the hallway, some in trash bags some on the floor. The outside of the building is unkempt, trash and debris everywhere. No water or ice machine. Fridge didn't work. Ironing board but no iron. Curtains didn't cover the entire windows. The most disgusting place I have ever stayed and would have left if another option was available.

All I have to say is please do not stay there, the health department needs to be called, because it is not clean or sanitized properly.
The police need to be called for whatever they do in the big common area in front of the rooms until 3am, I'm sure it is not legal from what I saw.
The pictures online are nothing like what it really is they must write their own reviews.

Expedia needs to rethink about having them offered on their web site we have used Expedia a lot for our travel and have never had any experience like this before.

I have always used Hotels.com and have been happy. This one should not be included. I always check reviews and this one was not glowing, but it was for 1 night and it was the one most convenient. I thought how bad can it be it is on Hotels.com. I had booked 3 rooms. We were assigned a room with no toilet seat . They all smelled. We had to ask for clean sheets. We only stayed because it was late and we had to get going early the next morning. In order to get my receipt we had to wait for over half an hour. Only 1 employee at night and 1 in the morning. We changed our own sheets. Worst ever.

I really just came to sleep due to long drive. All the hotels are overpriced and booked because of the data center problem. This one was affordable. Very strange layout but it did the job. Water was hot, fridge was cold, AC worked, and door locked. I would stay again if back in Abilene.

Overpriced and POORLY maintained property. Parking lot was full of trash. Room did not have safety latch in door. We had to put one of the chairs in front of the of the door for security. The “ continental breakfast” was non-existent, just some shabby looking fruit and stale cereal. If I could hive this place ZERO stars I would.

There was no iron or hair dryer. The door was broken so badly that I had to be given another room. I had to ask the management to come set-up the tv and then the remote didn't work. The toilet seat was broken and there were gnats flying about in the bathroom. There was no ice bin or plastic cups. The shelf next to the sink had been ripped out of the wall.

We recently stayed at the Rodeway Inn Abilene West (also referred to as Rodeway Inn in Abilene) and had a mixed experience. The guest rooms delivered well on space and comfort, which made the stay enjoyable for the most part, but the public spaces and overall maintenance of the hotel’s common areas fell short and need urgent attention.
The guest rooms are a definite highlight. They are generously sized—much larger than what you typically find at this price point—with good-quality furniture that feels sturdy and functional. The layout gave us plenty of room to move around comfortably, and everything in the room itself felt well-maintained. The beds were decent, and the furniture held up nicely without any major issues. Housekeeping did an excellent job; the cleaning team was thorough, and our room stayed fresh and tidy throughout our stay. Maintenance also responded promptly to any small requests we had. Unfortunately, the public areas tell a different story. The carpets in the hallways outside the rooms are in dire need of repair or complete replacement—they look worn, stained, and tired. The elevator feels outdated and could definitely use an upgrade for both safety and guest comfort. Overall cleanliness in the lobby, hallways, and other open spaces needs to be addressed more vigorously; it didn’t feel up to the standards you’d expect. Many of the open/common spaces inside the hotel appear largely unused or somewhat abandoned, which gives the property a neglected feel.

One towel 3 days, no non slip in tub or bathroom floor. breakfast poor and had to carry across ballroom floor to elevator and then down hall to room;, we are elderly-2 drinks cereal fruit to carry across ballroom to elevator, which sounded like it was falling apart, to take meal to room- no dinning area requested extra towels requested twice, had to go get them. trash not emptied. ballroom had large leaves from plant on floor all three day getting TV to work and then could not get channels to change.

What i mean is the ac doesn't work in some rooms, some rooms don't have hot water, some rooms dont have lights in the bathrooms, some rooms dont have plates in the microwaves. This was by far one of the worst motel experiences I’ve ever had. The room felt unsafe from the moment we walked in — the door would not lock securely, which was extremely concerning. The television barely worked, had no service, and wouldn’t even turn off properly.

To make matters worse, there was no hot water during our stay, and the bathroom only had one towel provided. Basic accommodations were clearly not a priority here.

The staff was rude and unhelpful whenever we tried to address the issues, and the overall atmosphere of the property was uncomfortable. Several of the other tenants seemed very sketchy, which only added to the feeling of being unsafe.

I would absolutely not stay here again and would not recommend this motel to anyone.

The staff working the front that checked us in She was Excellent! Wish I’d gotten her name. But the manager was rude and ignored us. The 3 nights we were there housekeeping never cleaned our room nor gave us clean towels. Either we had to track them down or ask front desk and majority of the time were told they were in the washer. Had issues with the tv remote, they gave us another one but we ended up having to turn the tv and volume up manually on the tv. Toilet was filthy and the seat wasn’t connected, fridge was dirty, microwave didn’t work properly, 1 roach and a lot of Gnats!

With the rooms all being indoors and floor to ceiling windows the guests in the lounge area were loud all night drinking and playing loud music which echoed.

Oy. I'm curious to know what hotel this used to be! My husband thinks there used to be a pool in the GINORMOUS atrium. The guy who checked us in was super nice. But man.... This place is in rough shape. Graffiti on our door to newspaper stuffed in the cracks to the door to the adjoining room. One towel to share between my husband and myself...one pillow per bed. But, the had a hairdryer that worked great and the mini fridge kept our drinks cold.

Arrived at 9pm and they didn't have any clean rooms. Finally gave us room, went up to it and they were still cleaning. After cleaners left we enter to find previous occupants stuff still in the room and floor very dirty. AC vent is in the bathroom which made using it very cold only in there. Remote to tv didn't work, called front desk they said ok but never sent a replacement. We had to go down to get towls as only 1 was left in the room and we are a family of 4. Never again, this was a horrible experience! Stay away!!

The Roadway Inn was the worse experience I have ever experienced. Starting with lack of help. Walking to our room the courtyard floor was filthy, there was trash and dirty linens piles all over, the carpet was stain throught out wal to our room, in parts of our walk there seemed to be blood on the carpet. When we opened our door., it did not spell clean and fresh, beds were lumpy not made tight. There was no TV plug for 'the TV, on the wall the air unit was disconnected., thebatroom air vent was falling off as well as the stucco. When i went to call the front office there was no connection to the phone, and rugs were filthy. We needless to say , i requested a refund. Thankfully my money was returned to me. I have a video and pictures as needed.
Later i found out its a prostitute hang out and drug dealing there on the facility

We had three different rooms. First room air conditioner was fantastic. Although the bathroom door was busted out and the room could use a little bit of TLC second room air conditioner works for a little while didn’t turn into like a sauna and a few bugs came out, but the management did their part and relocating us to the room next-door where the air conditioner is nice and cold and it is actually a little bit more modern updated in a sense. Management pretty nice couple. A little pushy and I don’t know maybe moody but it’s also business professional. I understand that part but they have an overnight front desk/I guess whatever needed guy named Jesse and he is an amazing worker. Upon arrival the lobby area was so strong smelling of Marijuana, I asked as I approached the desk if this hotel was smoking or non, and I said to the clerk it’s should smells strongly of Marijuana. The elevator is in a dark area of the lobby, the elevator buttons were so nasty, I didn’t want to touch them, as we got to our room, the heater was on and it was so hot we could hardly breath, as we began to look around, the fridge, microwave and the alarm clock were all unplugged, why I don’t know. As we began to examine our room, the work table was wooden, it looked like if I touched it I would have gotten a hand full of splinters, the light fixture was coming down from the ceiling in the bathroom, there was no washcloths at all only a hand towel and a bath towel, the security lock was broken the tub and toilet didn’t look like they had been cleaned. The people walking in, out and around the place looked very sketchy. I went back to the front desk and asked to check out and refund my money, at that point she offered me another room, but I refused and politely asked to be check out, she didn’t want to give me a refund, so I called hotels.com and after sending them the pictures, they refunded me my money.

I had the absolute worst Hotel stay over the weekend. Checked into the Rodeway Inn in Abilene TX for one night. The deskclerk was smirky and borderline rude. After he deigned to check me in, I went to the room. Looked for a cup.. no cups or glasses. Went back to the desk, asked for a cup. \"There are no cups.\" \"what?\". \"No cups in this hotel - at all.\" Again with kind of a smirky, borderline rude manner. Eh! went out to grab some food, came back an hour or so later. Figured I could watch a late football game... No TV controller. Back out to the desk, he handed me a controller. Back to the room. The damn thing would NOT turn on the TV. Started looking around the room more carefully. The microwave was missing the glass plate that rotates. In the bathroom, there was... a sink. Just the sink against a blank wall. No counters or cabinets. I guess I should be grateful they provided TP by the toilet? No Iron or board. No hairdryer. No plastic laundery bag. The \"closet\" had one hanger - left by previous guest, and the rod was like four feet above the floor. No ice bucket. Not even a trash can. There was a pile of dirty laundry about 6-8 feet in front of my room when I checked in. It was still there in the morning when I went for coffee. As I was leaving I asked the daytime desk clerk for a refund. (And I would not put out the worlds worst review ever.) He just smiled and said it doesn't matter. This is a franchise and nobody cares. \"Welcome to Abilene\", he said.

The place is absolutely filthy. Trash everywhere. Floor has not been swept or mopped. Our door was broken and would not lock when brought to the attention of front desk she just said oh. When we stated we were going someplace else her reply was you can’t get a refund day of checkin. Electrical plug and light switch is hanging off the wall. Asked for a room on bottom floor and she said no. I am on my way home from surgery in Texas and am very up set with these accommodations. No wash cloths 2 bath towels for 2 women. Bad bad bad service employees lied to me no breakfast and actually it was breakfast I saw it by my own eyes, but I was too late. Bad manager screamed at everybody and scream at me for no reason because I was two minutes late after 11 and the most important part that the spiders obviously no pest control this hotel spiders come everywhere after you put your eye to sleep never go there again
