A very comfortable hotel with friendly staff, pleasant rooms and good facilities. Excellent art display in communal areas, decent gym and great breakfast. It has it's own parking, which is very useful in high season, though it does cost 21 Euros a day... The heat in August 2025 put a strain on an ageing air conditioning system and it would be good if the hotel could upgrade TVs at some point, to include apps and some English speaking channels.

Hotel is a 25 minute walk to the old town & beach but its flat. It was extremely busy but has many bars & restaurants. Buzzing. There is a beautiful sunset to be seen down at the beach. We have a motorbike and there is secure parking at the hotel.

Super hotel on the river, fifteen minutes to centre and beaches. Hotel staff are friendly and professional, rooms are large and clean. This was a late booking as our planned accommodation had fallen through - this was a much better choice than the one we had planned to stay in!

We needed a parking space. Underground garage (21euro/night) has a direct elevator access to the hotel. The entrance to the garage was a bit narrow, but no problem with our mid size SUV. 15-20 minutes easy walking (flat) to the old city center. Room was very clean and enough space for two of us. Quiet even it faced to a busy road.
Good choice if you need a parking space.

The staff were friendly the ponchos and restaurant superb in food but this was a modern hotel lacking something in character. It’s about 20 minutes from the beach which is either a boon or a demerit depending on your taste however its location close to the river meant that once we had opened the windows we were mosquito prey. Also some of the furniture was tired and required replacing particulate manual room safe which either ran out of battery power or the keys were malfunctioning and luckily looked me out before I could put anything in it

The description of the hotel was exactly as it was. The location was great, out of the city centre but so walkable which made it very quiet. The reception staff were always very helpful and friendly. It was great if you were coming on business and also if you were on holiday having a few days in Donostia, it seemed to tick all the right boxes.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, lovely breakfast. All the staff in the restaurant and bar, as well as the front desk very kind and thoughtful. Jose Luis and Alberto were both extremely kind, helpful and professional.

Everybody was very patient with our group that included many teenage boy soccer players, parents and coaches. Few who speak Spanish. So thank you staff for your accommodation and patience!!

This hotel exceeded expectations! great location, parking and easy access to public transportation. The room was comfortable, modern style and equipped with quality linens and bathroom supplies.... best bed and pillows of our 2 week trip in Spain. Nice cafeteria for quick affordable breakfast. Close to Bilbao.

Staff was helpful and accommodating (we are still learning Spanish). Love the artwork in the hotel. Very quiet despite being, literally, sounded by roads/traffic. Easy to pull up and drop off luggage. Parking deck was super simple and accessed by the hotel elevator. Easy walk to both old town and the stadium.

After a long day of travel we found the Amara Silken in San Sebastián to be a perfect place to unwind and recharge. The front desk was efficient, friendly, and helpful. Our room was clean and very comfortable and the shower was so refreshing. Our stay was excellent!

the hotel was adequate for the price and location, but the big drawback was certainly the internet speeds, which were quite terrible. The internet would stop working multiple times a day, and even when it worked, was too slow to watch videos in 1080p. Taking into account how few guests were staying in the hotel at the time, this is a major drawback to the hotel.
The food of the restaurant is also not great.

Stayed here for 3 nights with my boyfriend. We booked a room with a private terrace. The terrace was great. The breakfast Buffett was one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had. Lots of variety and option, all artfully prepared. Only bummer was we left town early and missed the breakfast buffet (that we had already paid for) on our last day. We asked and the front Day agreed to pack us a togo breakfast but it was really a sad bagged lunch compared to the quality and quantity of food offered at the breakfast buffet. Overall nice stay.

If you have a car, location is great for getting in and out of the city. Plus they have a parkade attached to the building that makes it nice.

The bathroom is dated with a shower and could pose mobility issues. Also the beds were a little soft and worn. Not the best sleep.

One could walk or take the bus to the major parts of town. The room was quiet and a good size.

The only thing that was great was the fact that everything was walking distance, not super close but close enough to get around.

However how this hotel is considered a 4* and how we paid as much as we did for 3 nights beats me. The walls are paper thin, so thin, we actually Heard our neighbours phone vibrating. We could heard them going to the washroom, flushing, talking, walking. Was very uncomfortable. The staff doesn’t smile very much which also isn’t inviting.

Also 19€ per person for breakfast is extremely expensive. You can go to any cafe and eat for 1/4 that price.

My mother and I stayed for three nights. Overall our stay was ok. We really appreciated the staff. They were very nice at the front desk. However the cleanliness could have been much better. I would rate this a 2 maybe 3 star place at the most. Breakfast was really good and it was easy to get a taxi from the front desk however that was it. I would stay somewhere else next time.

It was very noisy and too far out from the old town. The bathroom door and bedroom window did not close. There was no outdoor space and no coffee and tea making facilities. The cleaners removed money from my son’s room. The staff were not very friendly

The hotel is nice, clean and deserves its 4 stars. My only disappointment was the lack of air conditioning. They have heat with a fan but no cooling so i had to keep the window open. Even then it got hot midday.

Some staff were very helpful, some very rude and unhelpful ie when I asked at the bar, regarding food, what ingredients in particular tapas, she just walked away and started to serve a Spanish person, ignoring us, I got the impression they would be happy if we weren't there, I think its the way they look at you, no smile! I did like the hotel and would stay there again, there are lots of positives, some of the staff need to be retrained in customer service.

San Sebastian is one of the nicest places I have ever visited.
A little disappointed with the 'comfort' element of the room description.
Bed was soft, but no water or tea/coffee. No iron in the room and I wouldn't pay for the ironing facility on offer. The friends I went with had a lesser 'quality' room which I would have much preferred.

We loved it! I'd stay again in a minute. The property is as described. An easy 10 minute walk to the beach. Safe. Straight shot. Nice bath products. The bartender is a doll. Open late. The restaurant is great. I got the impression that they even draw a local crowd, although I'm not certain. Incredible orange juice.

Excellent location for us in the height of summer... we have been to San Sebastian many times since 2010. Bus 26 and 28 comes nearly every 5 minutes and takes you to downtown area and La Concha. Very good menu del dia (20 euros) and excellent breakfast. River area is right by hotel.

Lovely hotel with a spacious room :)

I really loved the 20-30 min walks to each of the main sites each day. Down to the old town, along the local streets or water. The room we had was huge and I especially loved the huge and very comfortable bed.

Beautiful comfortable, stylish room and car parking under the hotel was a bonus. The breakfast buffet was an amazing selection of hot and cold dishes. The Reception staff all spoke English and were very helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay here again. Handy Tip: catch the 26 or 28 bus across the road from the hotel to the old town for 1.75 euros. Otherwise it’s a 25 minute walk.

Good location to explore San Sebastián. About a 20-minute walk to the beach and the Old Town. There’s a bus stop in front of the hotel and a train station 10 minutes away. There is a bar and restaurant on site, and cafes nearby.

Room is spacious with shower and tub in the bathroom. Plenty of closet space, has safe for valuables and bed was comfortable.
