The check in was arranged through WhatsApp, and was smooth. The room had been renovated, and was clean and comfortable. The soundproofing was effective - the Via Bologna under our balcony was crowded with stalls and was quite noisy during the day and evening.

The first breakfast was very good, but on the second morning, several items we requested were not provided. After asking the maid, she indicated that some were not available, but others were provided on request. There was a language barrier, but that did not explain why the breakfast order was not completed.

Also, we needed to obtain cash to pay the tourist tax, which was inconvenient, as we used our credit cards for every other expense on this trip.

These hitches apart, the stay was excellent value for money, and the location close to Napoli Centrale station is very convenient.

I struggled to rate this B&B. On the one hand, the rooms were very large, the air conditioning worked great, the showers were powerful and the location right beside the train station was so convenient for us as we did a lot of day trips to Rome, Pompeii, etc.
However….. the area itself is dirty, crowded, and would be unsafe for people travelling alone. We were tailed by would-be thieves multiple times, who only gave up after we turned around and deliberately stared at them to make it clear we knew what they were trying. There are some excellent eateries close by, though, so if you don’t mind a rough and ready surroundings, fill your boots.
The staff at the Re Diego also leave much to be desired. There was no one at the desk when we tried to check in at 8:30pm (the desk is only staffed until 7pm, there is no security besides locked doors), so our rooms were left unlocked for us to let ourselves into(!). The delivery of breakfast on a tray to your door in the morning should be a plus, but the staff who sort the trays arrive at 7am precisely and proceed to crash about, shout to one another, use coffee machines and slam doors from the moment they set foot in the place. Good luck to you if you want to sleep in. Breakfast is also only served between 8-10am - too late if you want breakfast before the first train to Pompeii on the Express.
Would I stay at this place again? Probably yes, but we value location over much else. Would I recommend the Re Diego for other travellers? No.

This bed and breakfast is tucked inside a lovely building right on the square. Everything you need is right there - train, buses, metro, dining, shopping, and friendly Napoli locals. A true jewel in a bustling city of food and culture. I’d stay here again and again.

Outside the property is NOT the most pleasant area and sight BUT once you get inside the property, it’s very nice and MOST of all, the rooms are great and newly renovated. It’s very modern and spacious. Staff is great and very accommodating. Highly recommended.

I have stayed here three times, for the spacious room/bed, the convenience of walking to the train station, and the friendly ladies delivering my breakfast in room. The building is very old, but they tried their best.

The only thing that needs improvement is the Wi-Fi, still unstable.

Whilst we struggled to find the enterance originally, once we did find out we needed to go to floor 4 we had to use the rather old and small lift and couldn’t all fit in. Two trips later we were in the B&B reception. Staff were super friendly and explained we had to order breakfast the night before and it would be delivered to our room the next day. Good options of the breakfast menu.
The room itself was spacious, clean and tidy and had everything we needed for a nights stay.

Close to main station so perfect of an overnight. Elevator too small , lobby is in 4 the floor, the entrance is shared by multiple small hotels then with elevator is sperated. Staff nice. It they leave overnight , seems like an Airbnb. Inside room very clean and renovated. It's the downtown of Naples.

The entrance to the hotel was a little difficult to find, you enter a courtyard and walk to the elevator at the back and take to the 4th floor. Building staff at entrance showed us where location was but then yelled/translated to us about how we should be able to speak Italian otherwise we should not be visiting the country.

Great location as next to station and airport drop off. Great base for Naples and elsewhere as station next door. Little trouble getting late room entry details but once we did they were perfect. Great sized clean room, shower brilliant. Just a frosted glass window. Would recommend

Central location, in Piazza Garibaldi, right next to train station.
Property when arriving was unexpected, once you get over the entrance the apartments are clean modern and staff are fantastic.
No window in room we had frosted windows which looked over the back which you could not open due tonthe birds.
We found the property noisey with the birds and upstairs during night with banging, we know this is not the properties fault.
We were here for 2 nights and was ideal for a short stay within short distance for all ths Naples can offer.
Breakfast was delivered to the room at the time you spesify each morning.

Tough to find initially, but well worth it. The rooms are modern and efficient. Chosen the night before, breakfast is delivered to your room. There are ample choices and variety. The area is close to the train station and central piazza, with all that entails. Personally, I had no problems, but I'm sure they can found easily enough. There does seem to be a sufficient police and military presence. On the hand, super easy to get to Pompeii and other places on the rail network. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Rooms are renovated completely. No cloth holders in bathroom. For family of 1 kid, we felt the size of room is too small to accommodate luggage. Breakfast is okay, not much option. Near to train station but very crowded at the entrance of building. 4th floor is the Re Diego.This is how it is near the Central in most of the cities.

Not clean at all ! The bathroom shower had mold all over the floor edges and also around the window near the bed. bed was only a mattress on the floor very uncomfortable. I would like to get a full refund my wife did not even take a shower.

Great location (across the street from the central train lines) and the bus to/from the airport. The location is very urban/gritty but felt totally safe. The accommodation is clean/comfortable. It is a very old building but has a lift. You choose what you want for breakfast and it is brought to your room. Good location to explore Naples and to catch the train for day trips.

We had to lug our bags up 4 flights as elevator not available, a/c not working first night but quickly got fixed when we reported it. Convenient for trains, metro snd restaurants. Not the nicest neighborhood- but staff super nice.

This hotel is about ease of access to transport locations, booked as arriving by train and doing excursions and pick up for these was opposite hotel. Hotel is accessed by a door into a small square and 4 floors up, there is a lift. Exterior door is locked at night and you are provided with a key. Check in was easy and staff were helpful. Room was large and clean and modern bathroom, comfy bed. Shower was not the most powerful. Good breakfast choice which was delivered to your room at your time of choice. Outside is the train station area and there are a lot of people sleeping in the streets and hanging about but there is a police and army presence. A lot of rubbish lying about too because off this. There are restaurants opposite which were always full of tourists, would recommend Parthenope.

It is on a very convenience location. The rooms are very spacious and very nice! The host Susy is super attentive and responsive. Breaksfast is very good, has so many options! WiFi works perfectly as well.
Also the decoration on the common areas are very cute and has Maradona paints!

A well located gem

Only a short stop over for 1 night, well located for train station and city. A typical Italian accommodation, looks a bit run down outside but once inside very well kept and decorated.
Breakfast was brought to your room - there was a good choice. Staff were really friendly and helpful.
Great for short stay but room quite small if staying for longer.

Our stay here was not good, they never had breakfast provided, and they tried to charge us 12€ for a “Tourist Tax”!!! They didn’t except card, only cash. This was a scam at us to get some extra cash. That’s distasteful.

This B&B hotel is among the highlights I have experienced in traveling Napoli. I would use these words: spacious, clean, convenient, value, and last but not least, the breakfast. Two nights in a single room with a king-sized bed, it makes me feel like in North America, and plenty of unit space. The ladies maintaining these units are super nice. It’s 3-min walk from Napoli Centrale Statione. The neighborhood outside, just like Roma Termini, is full of strange, or interesting people, but inside the building, at the 4th floor, the room is very quiet and the bed is extremely comfortable, feeling like a 4-star chain hotel stay. The in-room breakfast delivery service is extraordinary, and I really had good colazione. The hotel manager, Susy, tries to contact you with the heads-up on WhatsApp for checking in.

I have plans to return to Napoli and go Puglia, so if I can book, I will try to stay here again.

My only complaint is that the Wi-Fi signal is not strong enough, and in my case, I had to get closer to the entrance to establish Wi-Fi connection. If I lie in bed, away from the room entrance, I tried with two phones and my iPad, and very difficult to catch the Wi-Fi signals.

The hotel was very convenient for boarding trains since it's located across from the central train station. The streets outside of the hotel are dirty, but this not the hotel this is the city.

Key problems with this property:
1. They only gave us one tiny bowl of fruit for three people. And charged 2 euros per new towel (Probably could've bought towels for that price)
2. There was mold around the bathroom.
3. There were many people sleeping on the street by the hotel. We were also harrased by someone who appeared intoxicated near the hotel.
4. They only gave us one water bottle per day for three people and charged us 1 euro per water bottle and there was no where to fill up the water bottle.
5. The property itself was in disrepair. The elevator (and there was only one elevator) was incredibly small and the doors sometimes didn't open.
6. No rack to store soap or shampoo in the shower.
7. At night when we needed a towel but because they keep the big towels under lock because they want to make their 2 euros, the only towels we could access were two small towels.
8. You could text staff over night but there was no one on staff at night. And the staff due to language barriers can't assist you with questions related to transportation, tickets etc.
Positives-
1. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable but there was mold in the bathroom.
2. They gave us a nice new years package with wine.

While the rooms themselves are clean and comfortable, the property itself was old, rundown, and the elevator was not working. We arrived late at night in what was a very gritty neighborhood and had to let ourselves into a very sketchy courtyard and then climb 4 flights of stairs with our luggage.
Not a great impression of Naples.
