Good size room, but it is small. The location makes it a great place to stay and that’s good enough. Good size bathroom. It wasn’t clean but it also wasn’t dirty. It was good enough for what we paid. Don’t have high expectations.

We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The thing we enjoyed the most is the cleanliness of this hotel.
Next, is their staffs. Everybody is very nice and helpful. Specially, Mr. Savio (front desk), he is very nice, courteous, helpful, willing to help us on everything. Thank you Mr. Savio. Also 2 ladies at the breakfast room, very nice and helpful.
The location of the hotel is very close to the train station, metro, and many restaurants. Shopping stores are around the corner. Very convenience.
We will definitely stay at Potenza Hotel again next time we are in Naples.

We had a nice stay here for 3 nights. Room was basic but adequate. Bed was comfortable and room was clean and well serviced. Location was excellent, right by the Napoli Centrale Station. Great for Pompeii and an easy bus ride into Chiaia and Old Town. Breakfast was simple but enough. Would have liked a kettle in room with tea and coffee. Can recommend Fedele 2.0 next door for a great dinner!

Nice, quiet, well-situated hotel

Spent 5 nights here. The hotel is just steps from the metro and half a block from the train station. Many shops and restaurants nearby. The room was cleaned daily, had nice shower, toiletries. Only 3 things it lacked: an elevator, a variety of breakfast foods, and no English TV channels, like CNN, BBC, HBO, etc. But I enjoyed my stay. Would stay again.

Great location, well insulated from external noise, but little sound suppression between rooms or from corridors so ear plugs required depending on your neighbouring guests. Disappointing there was no glassware, bottle opener, or facility to make tea/coffee outside of breakfast service. Our fridge was also not operational.

perfect location

quick access to the metro as well as all the train lines, the fast ones and the commuter ones because it's roughly a 2 minute walk to the station; also the bus to the airport is very nearby; there are some restaurants, cafe and shops and one bigger grocery shop (conad) by the train station.
The room was OK, the ac worked well, the room was quiet because I explicitly asked for such room. The best thing about the breakfast was the delicious and fresh pastry.

The staff is rude. They did not help in anyway when asked. There are a lot of street vendors outside the hotel which makes it unsafe. The room was dirty. They did not even provide shower gel. Please do not book.

I booked the family room for a one night stop between Rome and Amalfi to visit Pompeii. I chose it for its proximity to the train station. The room was clean and large enough for four adults. Though the neighborhood is rough and not where you’d want to be for any extended stay in Naples, it was perfect for our purposes. The front desk was extremely helpful and patient in navigating me toward areas worth visiting for dinner. The free breakfast was an added bonus. Air conditioner took the edge off but not much else.

This hotel is good value for money. I had a comfortable bed . The room was spacious and quiet even though it looked on to Piazza Garibaldi. I had an early train so couldn’t have breakfast. I would have liked a small kettle to make a cup of tea before my journey. I am a mature woman travelling on my own so I was reassured by the secure gates between the hotel and piazza.

This hotel is right in front of train station which is super convenient. Lots of food options around and the area is good. It was just two things I didn’t like: every time you go out they take your room key away, no explanation of why, I felt a little bit uneasy about giving it away. Second, breakfast doesn’t have options, is just ham, cheese and croissants.

Don’t be deceived by other decent reviews

The room was decent as far as space, bathroom needs major cleaning and disinfecting, there was a sewing needle stuck at the bottom of the bowl, the sheets were hard and uncomfortable, there were mosquitoes in the room! The front concierge guy was rude and insisted that we leave our passports with him for 10 mins and return for it? Which I refused to do and don’t feel safe doing. He also demanded that we leave our room keys in the front when we went out to get food.Stated that we might loose the keys?? What hotel will do that? We felt uncomfortable, unsafe and worried about our stuff knowing that he could access our room while we’re out! It’s like we gave him permission to enter while we’re gone!! That’s illegal specially if you’re paying for that room as your personal space in that particular time! Don’t stay here!!!! The maintenance guy was nice though and actually helped us set the AC so we are comfortable. And he’s polite and graciously offered us breakfast before we left really early for our next destination.

The hotel is centrally located, close to the train station and restaurants. The inside decor features beautiful Italian tiles on floors and walls. Breakfast was good, with a coffee machine from which you could choose your own blend. The front desk recommended the nearby Amoroso Restaurant (which I think they might own) where my husband had delicious spaghetti with mussels and I had good Naples pizza.

The main problem was the air conditioning, it did not worked even when the front desk person tried to help, at the end, we had to open the balcony door to get some fresh air, but a lot of noise came in and mosquitos too...we asked for a different room bu the place was full.

We arrived at this hotel near the train station to stay for one night before our morning flight. We booked a double room but when we arrive the concierge insisted we booked a single room. We even showed him our confirmation that stated double room. My wife and I ended up sleeping in a twin bed on our last night in Italy, and to make matters worse, they charged us $15 for my wife to stay on top of the double room we booked. Awful awful awful!

Good Price and Great Location

Hotel Potenza ist on the Piazza Garibaldi, which makes it a great base for exploring the Campania region. All of the main spots are easily accessible from the hotel. The linea 1 of the metro is just outside the hotel which means that the Municipio, Toledo, Dante and Museo stops are close by. If you get the ArteCard Campania, you'll get free transport on the metro for 3 days, as well as the Circumvesuviana to go to Ercolano, Pompeii or Sorento. If you are going further afield, the Treinitalia station is nearby, which we took to both Caserta and Paestum. The staff was friendly and helpful, a continental breakfast of rolls, croissants, cereal, yogurt, juice, ham, cheese, jellies, honey and coffee is provided. The quality is good but not 5 star, but the price reflects that and we were satisfied with the food and our stay. If I was going to do a similar trip in the Naples area I would definitely stay there again. A great rate for a great location.

Bad front desk, POOR AC, no wifi, great location

Great location for trains, good restaurants nearby, generally areas bit rundown but I stayed here for the train the next day. Front desk staff not helpful at all, seemed to care less AC did not work in July (we eventually got a small improvement ourselves), safe lacked batteries so did not work and wifi had no Hope of working during our stay. Bad attitude much worse than the actual equipment failures.

We were only staying in Naples for a quick night, so this was a perfect location near the train station. The staff was helpful and forgiving of our poor Italian, the rooms were clean, and we recieved a discount at the restaurant which had amazing food and reasonable prices.

one of the worst hotel beds ever, tiny, springy. and a curbside quality chair. no elevator. otherwise 4 stars. But they invested a LOT of money elsewhere, like lobby doors, stairs, flooring, bathroom fixtures, woodwork, art, aquarium, Windows, etc. The furniture in room was very nice, except that garbage chair and bed. no art on the big empty wall in room. made it look cheap and hostel like. But then you notice the rest of the furniture and wonder why the missed details. that's Italy.

Close to Garabaldi train station,metro stop within 100 feet of Hotel. Room facing square directly above restaurant. Request if possible a room in the back of the hotel. Mattress was as comfortable as sleeping on thin cardboard,pillows as hard as concrete. Sleep? With a 4:30 am wakeup time,and sound reverberating from the square below,forget about it.

Security good and front desk people were all very friendly. Walk outside and the metro is in front of you. Just across the street is the main rail station. Just around the corner a couple blocks away is the regional train. Very good location and their next door restaurant is good too. Room for 3 was huge and clean. Don't worry about the noise from the nearby metro because the windows are very well sealed and you don't hear much. Wifi doesn't work in rooms though. You need to walk out to the hallway if you are in the second floor.

Very convenient to trains stations. Lots of food and drink options close by. No one had high-dusted in years, however. Because the TV did not work in the first room we were in we had to move to another room where there was no refrigerator. However, we did have a balcony which was great both for smoking and for people-watching. Eve tho no fridge, we were able to get ice from the bar/restaurant next door, which also offers a discount on meals for guests of the Potenza.

Nice place near train station

This is a great hotel for those wanting to travel throughout southern Italy (making day trips to Pompeii, Sorrento, etc...) as it's conveniently located one block from the train station. It's a mere 10 minute walk to the best pizza in Naples at de Michele. The block of the hotel feels safe in comparison to the rest of the city. The hotel is nothing fancy, but it's comfortable and gets the job done.

Convenient location for taking Circumvesuviana train to Pompeii, Herculaneum, or Vesuvius. Big construction project in street wasn't a problem for me as it quieted down at 10:00PM. Slight sewage smell in bathroom wasn't a problem as long as the window was left open. Hotel internet worked only one day of four and they said there was nothing they could do each time I asked at the desk if they could fix it. Reasonably clean, though it seems they only vacuum with the door open so never vacuum behind the door. Mostly, I was only in the hotel when sleeping, so it was adequate for my needs at a fair price.

Good for a quick trip

Hotel Potenza is very close to the train station--5 minutes walking or less. It's not in a very pretty neighborhood, especially now since they're doing construction in the entire plaza in front of the hotel (hopefully this will change soon--it looks like it may turn out to be an interesting architectural project). We stayed only two nights for a day-trip to Pompeii. Our room was a good size, decently clean (especially the bathroom), and had basics like bar and liquid soap and shower caps. The furniture and space itself seemed dated for a 3-star, but was in decent condition. Our room had a big balcony/patio area looking over a courtyard. The breakfast (included w/ room) was perhaps the best part of staying here. They had fresh, warm, delicious pastries as well as the standard packaged toast/cookies/jam & butter to go along with made-to-order espresso, cappuccino, tea, or whatever you wanted from the coffee bar. There was a very nice barista who took care of our every beverage wish. Staff was nice and helpful in general. We used the hotel discount at the restaurant next door, which had decent prices and pretty good food. Overall a decent stay, made better by the breakfast!

Perfect for tourist and business people

Location of the hotel was easy to fine and easy to get anywhere in Naples. The people were wonderful and everyone could speak English. The train station was 200 meters away which allowed easy access to the Metro to get around Naples, the regional trains to go to sites like Pompeii, Sorrento and other tourist locations, as well as trains to Rome and beyond. Also it was the hub for busses. The hotel was clean and the breakfast was very good. I recommend this hotel for families and business people.

A breakfast worth going back for....

The hotel was very pleasant and the room, spacious and clean. The breakfast is amazing and there is a friendly barista to serve you fresh variants of coffee at your request to go with home-baked croissants. The location is great and easily accessible from the main train statio. Parking will cost 20€ at a nearby private garage and I would recommend this strongly because the neighbourhood is 'dodgy/seedy' at best. There are however plenty of restaurants in the area which serve neapolitan classic pizzas.

the hotel location was convienent from the train station, central for our needs. the strip the hotel was on had a lot of food and no car traffic. the restaurant associated with the hotel had fun servers, great menu, and fantastic prices. hotel service was terrible, they helped us with nothing. we expect very little, but when we did have questions they told us to check with someone else later on every issue (booking a day tour they advertised, taxi inquires again that they advertise, booking a late check out... we gave up. I'd still stay there for the location and price, just don't expect any help from the reception. oh and for neighborhood... it was the cleanest 200ft of sidewalk in naples...

There was a big construction project in the piazza right in front of the hotel, but the walls and windows kept out the noise. We were near the breakfast room; the noise from that did wake us... the cappuccini made up for that. Clean spacious rooms and so close to the train station that hauling luggage is no problem. Good inexpensive restaurants right outside the hotel. I definitely recommend this place.

We (two women) arrived in Naples and were a little concerned about staying so close to the train station based on what we read. But this little hotel was just great. We felt completely safe, the room was very comfortable and clean, and it was so convenient to be close to the station for our other day trips. The price was excellent, and the little breakfast was just fine. It isn't fancy, but we would absolutely stay there again.

Hotel Potenza in Napoli, Italy

Hotel Potenza is very close to the train station and there are a few restaurants close by if you do not want to walk too far to for food. The hotel looks like it has been renovated and it's very clean. The price is reasonable as it also includes breakfast. The only drawback is that there is a construction site opposite the hotel when we went in May 2011 - that causes the windows to be dusty and there are mosquitoes in the room. Apart from that, the hotel is a great place to stay.

Good budget hotel in Naples, Italy

We got more than expected for the low price paid. The Plaza in front is one huge construction site- but this is the only negative for this hotel. It will be common issue for every hotel around Garibaldi Plaza. Otherwise- small, clean, cheap hotel, all finishes look new. Located near train station. Friendly, English speaking service team. Do not look further if you stay in Naples for 1-3 nights trip- stay in Potenza.

Todo el personal es encantador. Nos ayudaron mucho en el hotel e hicieron que nos sintieramos en casa, a pesar de que estabamos lejos de ella y hablamos otro idioma diferente al italiano. Las habitaciones también son muy buenas: limpias, espaciosas, buena ventilación, cama muy comoda (se duerme muy bien) y con aire acondicionado. El hotel está en la zona perfecta para todo tipo de actividades porque está en el mismo centro.
El restaurante del hotel lo recomendamos al 100%. Comida casera, muy buena, muy buen precio, gran cantidad de comida, un descuento por dormir en el Hotel Potenza y un personalmuy atento.

Realmente, vamos a regresar al hotel, nos encantó.😁😍

Bon hôtel bien placé mais peut s'améliorer

Hôtel bien placé (quartier historique et transports en commun). Il dispose de prestations satisfaisantes avec une déco/mobilier pas moderne mais pas vieille non plus.
Le petit dej est léger: seules les patisseries locales font l'affaire, pas de pain frais, pas d'œufs, pas de produits de la région (fruits, confiture, miel, fromage, légumes).
Ma chambre disposait de lits simples dont la large était bien trop petite pour un adulte normal (un enfant peut être). La climatisation dans la chambre n'était pas satisfaisante (à 27°C).

Lo mejor del hotel es la ubicación. Necesita una reforma, no hay ascensor. El aire acondicionado hacía muchísimo ruido. Las almohadas extra tenían manchas amarillas y no las cambiaron hasta el último día. El desayuno era correcto. El jabón de ducha era una pastilla, por lo que tuvimos que comprar nosotros un gel para poder ducharnos.

Albergo tre stelle ristrutturato recentemente, ordinato, ben tenuto, con personale molto educato e professionale. Ottimo per chi giunge in città in tarda serata, vicino alla stazione centrale e all'ingresso della metropolitana, con diversi ristoranti e pizzerie subito accanto. Arredi, colazione e i servizi base (saponi, asciugamani, WI-FI) sono di livello buono per la categoria dell'albergo. Il quartiere della stazione conserva ancora un'impronta popolare, e la sera piazza Garibaldi si anima di persone del luogo che si mischiano all'intenso passsaggio di turisti e pendolari, rendendo piacevole cenare anche in uno dei dehores dei tanti locali che circondano la piazza dopo le 21:00. Struttura consigliata.

Molto comodo per la stazione a 200 mt, la metro di fronte, il centro a pochi passi. Nella piazza della stazione centrale ma molto tranquillo e con bei locali adiacenti. Metro o treno, in poco tempo si raggiunge qualunque zona di Napoli e dintorni. Colazione nella media. Camere discrete.
