I didn't like anything about this place. It's listed as hotel, but there's no lobby or reception. You need to go to cafe beside it to check in and out. Enterance is scary. Room itself and bed ate very low condition compare to price. I don't recommend it. It's really expensive for what they offer you. The only reason i booked this place was because of walking distance to main train station

We like the convenience of the train station, You do not need to take a cab, it is that close to the train station, I can not emphasize how close we were to the train station. The price was well with in our budget. and close to a laundry matt if you needed to do laundry. We are 59/64 and we loved this place if you are younger you would love this place. Ac worked great. Ana provided breakfast. This place was wonderful. Highly recommend for all ages.

It was a cozy stay. Some would complain about the retro look,but keep in mind its supposed to be old cinema look. Host was very accommodating, friendly. The breakfast was nice. Only negative thing i could say is there are lots of stairs, but this wouldn't deter me from recommending this hotel.

A staff member was a disaster. It was rainning a lot outside. When a problem happened, he did not take any action to help me and just shouted \"no english\", \"I am not a manager.\" then he went to a hall and watched tv.
As a foreigner, i needed his help but was treated like a beggar.

The entrance is 28 steps up, but the hotel from there is very good, with 2 consistent staff who helped with the stay and advised how to find things in the city. Only small noise parts of the night. Clean.
The street's junction with Piazza Garibaldi has no name of the hotel's street (common on small streets in Napoli) - check on a map.

Very nice family-owned hotel 5 min from the train station. Lots of restaurants nearby, and the airport bus stops 7min away. Comfy room, with a fridge and air con. The owners are super nice and breakfast is a small buffet, but very tasty. The price is great. The surroundings are a bit alarming, but that’s south of Italy for you, don’t worry that it looks a bit derelict - it’s nice and safe there.

A perfectly located hotel

Great staff, so welcoming and always around at front desk which is manned 24/7. Is a family run business and yeah just lovely.
perfectly located and say 30 mins walk to the famous Pizzeria (Di Michelle/ come out of hotel left then left again to main strip cross big busy road about 5 mins from there closed on Sundays).
Basic room, basic amenities, simple but perfect if on a budget or a light traveller. Place to eat under hotel all transport come out of hotel turn left then a right on main strip 3.50 euros for train to pompei or sorrento (blue line play 3).
Small balcony which is perfect is busy and noisy but soon as u close balcony door sound proof so dies not affect sleep.
A good sound stay. We felt safe despite what reviews said of naples in general. We booked another night :)

The hotel and its location are good.
The staff are good as well except Anna. She's at the desk in the mornings.
She doesn't listen, she's inflexible and has temper.
This woman doesn't accept anything that she doesn't like. First it was because her English is poor so she misunderstood a comment and started shouting at us. The second time it's because the fridge in our room wasn't working and she insisted that the fridge worked and that a small fridge is not a freezer. I tried to explain that I am a frequent traveller and that I know the difference and that the fridge did not work at all as one of the personnel had confirmed the night before. But she only got angrier and I had to calm her down by saying that it wasn't important and that everything was good lol
The breakfast is mostly pastries and bread but they offer various coffees.
Generally speaking avoid Naples or keep it to the minimum if you have to stay there to visit Capri [not really worth it] or Pompeii and the Vesuve [ loved them]. Nothing interesting and people drive like crazy especially motorcyclists.

our bed had beg bugs. my wife and I woke up early in the morning founding ourselves bit by bed bugs on arms and legs. after looking around, checking pillows and under the sheets we found at least 4 bugs. so upset and disappointed. we left our carry on and all clothes in Naples since we did not want risk taking bugs to our home.

Feels safe but late night noises outside

Staff was very nice. Very close proximity to the Metro and train stop. Loud firecracker or gun noises late at night. Comforts are well used and need some lint trimming. The shower does not have a soap tray. The price was great for 1 night while waiting for a flight. May not be safe to venture out at night with the noises.

We found all the staff very helpful and considerate to our requests ( Inc printing boarding passes from e-mails and trainpass forms etc ). Nothing was too much bother for them, and the breakfast time was nice and cosy with a family feel. The food was freshly replenished so no grumbles there. Rooms were carefully cleaned to a high level and sheets/towels replaced regularly.

It's a very humble room. Over decorated and with very little space. Staff makes an effort. But the area, although its central, it's a bit too central if you know what I mean. Very very tough, loads of crackheads around it and very dark. Not a nice place for a tourist.

Our stay in Naples was one night only as we were heading to Capri. Our hotel was ok. Very basic. I thought it would have been good to have one night in Naples....I should have gone straight to Capri. Naples must have been nice once. The entire Naples needs a good clean, graffiti removed and rubbish to be collected. The people are not proud of their city.

Good enough for a 1 night stay. Very Near Ghirabaldi Plaza and Central Train Station. Pleasant and helpful staff, basic breakfast buffet with good coffee, room was a tad small especially the bathroom and shower. Restaurants in local area but the area seems a little seedy. Good price though. Several flights of stairs with no lift.

Do NOT be put down by the exterior!!!

The owner -Anna- and the rest of the staff are incredibly helpful, the hotel is clean and full of nice details. The exterior is \"just like the rest of the centre\" which means \"old and not very attractive\" but you forget about it when you start chatting with the very friendly staff. The location is incredible for public transport, walking and very good eateries nearby.
Next Time I am in Naples I believe I will be booking here again.

Only if you need hotel close to train stations

If you are on tight budget, need something close to train station (if you go to visit Pompeii use Porta Nolana station, super close from hotel and less crowded trains) than this is for you.
If you looking for something more confortable, look somewhere else. Bathroom is super tiny, relatively clean room, but they needed renovation 10-15 years ago.
Huge problem...no elevator and rooms are high, very high. If you are without luggage and do not have problem with climbing, ok. But orherwise , you will have problems.

An off-beat option in an off-beat neighborhood….

Giovanna and her family – who run this hotel – are very accommodating. The breakfast is nice also. The hotel is close to the main train station and an ideal spot for exploring the interesting neighborhoods of Naples. Some Americans will find the dirt and denizens of the neighborhood off putting. Truth is that the hotel is near an area where street walkers and some questionable street vendors ply their trade. One must keep his wits around him, to be sure, but Naples has more soul and humanity in one block than most America. Cities have in their entirety.

We chose this hotel based on the location; just 2min from Garibaldi train station, which is very convenient if you want to catch the train to Pompei. There is 24h reception and the staff check entry and exit, which makes you feel safe. Excellent WiFi signal coverage. Clean rooms; overall very convenient and comfortable.

Nothing fancy, but not so bad either

Everything was okay at this hotel. Nothing exceptionnal, but nothing missing. The room was tiny. There was a wardrobe to put my clothing in, but there was not enough space to open it properly! Breakfast was comparable to what I've seen elsewhere in this type of hotel with croissant, cake and yogourt/cereals. Fresh coffee is offered as well. The ambiance reminded me of a youth hostel. However, this hotel is quiet, well situated near the train station and the Metro.

Awful Service, under renovation, but cheap room

If you must stay in Naples overnight, I'd be looking elsewhere. My encounter with Anna was jaw droppingly bad. In hindsight, prepayment in full was a bad idea.

Neither the TV nor refrigerator were working. Anna was clearly annoyed that I interrupted her texting session and had to be could coaxed into investigating. She got us another fridge, but it smelled horrible. She tried to convince me that this was \"normal.\" I told her I always review the places I stay and would like to give them a good rating. She replied, \"One bad review means nothing. If you don't like it, go somewhere else.\" Finally, she relented and said she'd clean it while we were out for dinner. She did clean it and left a split of Proseco in the fridge by way of apology. I've NEVER had an encounter like this anywhere.

Room was clean but in need of paint and wallpaper. Looked like they were starting a refurbishment of nearby rooms. Though we booked a double room, we got 2 singles jammed together. Noisy street, so bring your earplugs. Toilet seat was loose, shower fixtures rusty, lights were dim and there was a wicked unmarked drop onto the balcony. I couldn't smell it, but my wife smelled urine in the room.

The breakfast wasn't worth it. Granola and yogurt were good, but nothing else. Lots of stairs and no elevator. Fortunately, Anna helped my wife with her bag coming and going. Not recommended.

Awesome place near Garibaldi station

Awesome stay. The hotel owners showed very good hospitality. Breakfast was excellent. Freshly brewed cappuccino and other coffee deserves special mention. Rooms were standard but unique in their decor. Overall, we had a great time in this hotel. The proximity to Garibaldi station deserves special mention. The only downside is the neighborhood area at night. It looks a little shabby. But I would definitely like to visit this place again. Than you so so much for providing a memorable stay.

A Homely Stay with Warm Friendly Hosts

The most homely friendly clean and functional hotel that I have stayed in. Managed by Anna, her children Luigi and Imma and hard working Claudia they welcome you with traditional Italian warmth.
The rooms are clean well maintained and functionally adequate. The hotel has a unique movie star - movies theme which itself is a unique and welcome change. There is a buffet breakfast that is adequate without being lavish. Warm fresh croissants, jam butter the works, choice of cheeses and meats, cornflakes, muesli, milk juices, cakes and a pie. Excellent flavoured yoghurt to end a fantastic breakfast too. Tea coffee of your choice loving prepared by Claudia/ Luigi and served with a smile.
Being run by family they make you feel At Home and their advice is helpful and spot on. Even the cab bookings are very reasonable unlike usual hotel tie-ups.
The biggest advantage is that the Naples main train station and Metro station are at a short walking distance. One can therefore visit even Rome and other cities and come back and sleep in your own bed at the hotel however late. This also helps when asking for directions back from outside trips or long walks. Many small yet awesome eating joints are located nearby serving Italian food, fast food and fresh fruits and vegetables.

A great little hotel

This family run hotel was very friendly & accommodating.
The 'cine' feel is unusual with interesting memorabilia.
The rooms, though small were functional, comfortable & cleaned every day.
The breakfast was buffet style with plenty of variety.
Situated centrally,in the heart of Naples, only a couple of minutes walk from the bus & both railway stations it did not suffer from the major noise levels associated with this type of city area.

Hotel for price great value.Very Clean spacious nicely decorated and air con.Small balcony.Bathroom small but had everything you would need.Staff very pleasant.Plenty for breakfast.Had small bar and not expensive. Great eating place at end of street at station.there were another 2 eating places on our street which were busy as well.Naples is quite a dump to be honest rubbish lying on street and graffiti on buildings but not an expensive city.Stayed for night only because of ease to get to airport.

We stayed in the Cineholiday 3 nights. Great budget hotel, located very close to the train and metro stations. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived a few hours before the check in time, but there was no problem with checking in. Our room was small but very clean, and the bed was made every day. The air condition worked perfectly. The only thing we missed was tea/coffee making facilities. Thank you for your hospitality.

This is a very nice hotel in a convenient location close to Napoli Centrale station. The room was very clean and nicely decorated. If you're wary of the hotel's film-themed décor, ask for room 4 which simply has white walls, blue linen and beach-themed accessories. Despite looking out on the street, the room was very quiet and we slept well.

Breakfast was included and there was a selection of cereals, warm croissants, tarts, fresh fruit and fruit juice. Tea and coffee were available from the pleasant bar staff.

My only complaint would be that the shower cubicle was very small, but this wasn't enough to spoil our trip.

When we arrived the friendly, helpful girl carried our bags to our room. The location was central so handy for the train station and city. Hotel facilities were excellent. Loved the deco. Hotel full of character with a warm welcome

Just off piazza garibaldi this hotel is ideal for travellers like myself who prefer to stay close to transport links and airport transfers. A new station entrance is being constructed in the piazza so it took us a minute to get our bearings and find the hotel behind the building cordons and barriers.
The hotel itself is charming. We got a great price on a last minute booking and couldn't have been happier. The walls are adorned with movie posters, there's a lovely bar and breakfast area with fresh breakfast available every morning - cereals, fruits and deli meats, juices, tea and coffee. The room was large and clean, with fresh white towels, a balcony and aircon unit. The bathroom (with shower only) was clean and nicely sized with shower gel/shampoo sachets and little soaps. Hot water instantly and a hair dryer. The room had a very large double bed - only one pillow each. Crisp white sheets. Lamps either side, a TV with Italian channels and a fridge to store any purchases. Large wardrobe with hangers for clothes and a couple of chairs. The area was quiet with just a few barking dogs and the odd traffic/horn noises - no sound from other guests. I would recommend this hotel to any one looking for a weekend away in Naples. The staff were so friendly. There was a collection of guides and maps to use during our stay and I'm sure if we had more questions the staff would have done their best to assist.

Could have been more comfortable

The family who owned the hotel was very nice and the room basically was as shown online, and clean to my standards. It did however have the worst bed I have ever slept on and as a big traveller i dont have a very high expectation for these but the springs and horrible pillows made our stay less enjoyable. I ended up making a pillow with my airplan pillow and sweaters because the sleeping situation was that bad. It was nice having a private washroom, but the shower was so tiny you couldnt afford to drop the soap. Had I been over 150 LBs i dont think I could have fit in the shower. The area on the other hand was not so nice. However, There were pockets that were great but mostly these were tourist areas and essentially the block that this hotel was on is basically all hotels for travellers. Majority of the time we felt unsafe in the streets and enjoyed the view from the hotel balcony. Watching the locals try to drive/park and musicians playing in the streets. The reason for going to Naples was to see Pompeii and once we got to the town of Pompeii we had wished we stayed there to begin with. Overall i'd rate this hotel 2.8/5, had the bed been more comfortable i'd give it a 3/5.

We picked this hotel because it was close to the station - less than 5 minutes, the square in front of the station is presently being redeveloped to form a new metro station but the work seems to be coming to an end. The hotel is situated in a small street just a few metres from this square. The entrance to the hotel is not appealing it is through an alleyway then up a stair to hotel reception, the building appears to be shared with other residents. We were in one of the newly upgraded rooms, the room was large, very clean and comfortable, unfortunately although there were dozens of channels on the TV, none were in English. Breakfast was adequate although as in most hotels no gluten free options, on our final morning we were the first guests in a new dining room adjacent to our bedroom, it was nice and bright and airy.

The hotel is family run, the son and daughter speak good English, all the family were friendly and helpful.
The area around the station appeared quite rough but there were plenty restaurants and we were able to walk into the city centre easily - apart from crossing the roads! If there are traffic laws then they must only be known to locals! .

Excellent location for site-seeing and good value

An excellent 3 star hotel. Very good value for money and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Very close to Garibaldi Station but the side street it is in is quiet and safe. Don't be put off by lots of negative coverage of Naples!!

My bracelet was stolen

I asked the reception to keep my luggage because I had an afternoon flight and wanted to look around the city in the morning. It was my fault that I did not lock my luggage - because I did not have anything valuable except my bracelet. Once I was back to the hotel to pick up my luggage, my bracelet was gone.

Also, I was not comfortable that the house keeper touched my personal items in order to clean up the room. I left my personal items (such as cosmetics, medicines, etc) randomly on the bedside table. When I came back, they were nicely organized on the desk, which is.. kind of I appreciated their work, but I rather not to be touched and left them as they were.

We were very impressed with the ease of walking to the hotel from our arrival at the train station and the helpfulness of the staff. Breakfast was very good complete with homemade jam.Restaurants nearby were very reasonable with good food.Connections to Pompei and Amalfi coast are nearby.

Lovely hotel near central bus & train station

Arrived at the Hotel Cine Holiday a couple of hours before the room was due to be available, and were going to leave bags with reception staff while we having a stroll around however room was ready and bags were taken to the room for us. Room was lovely and clean, I wasn't expecting luxury as it is only a 3 star hotel, but couldn't complain about cleanliness as the whole hotel was lovely and clean. Liked the film & cinema theme all through the corridors. Rooms also had air con which worked well and was needed! Hotel staff (which I believe were all family) were extremely helpful & nothing seemed too much trouble when asking for help arranging tours/days out. Breakfast was quite light, but we didn't really mind that, choice of coffee and was made fresh for you. I was a bit concerned about being near the station however we didn't have any problems at all with regard to safety. Plenty of places to eat at very reasonable prices. Was pleasantly impressed with Naples and also the cleanliness of the Metro/ underground - no graffiti, security cameras and no dodgy people! Will definitely be going back sooner rather than later!!!

I stayed for 2 nights. Room for 1st night is horrible, the air-conditioner was broken and the toilet is not working properly. The staff was helpful and gave me a fan but can't help much. They changed room for me the 2nd night, but I won't think it's a good one to stay in summer!

Central location with great staff

Thoroughly enjoyed my experience staying at cine holiday hotel in Naples. The location is central, within walking distance to the main train and bus station with many local eateries close by. It was easy to navigate to the attractions in Naples either by foot or public transport.

The staff were extremely friendly and attentive to their guests. On checking in you are shown to your room and given an information folder containing information about the hotel, wifi password, transport etc.

Breakfast buffet had a good selection and was always well stocked. It was helpful having a bar downstairs which served a selection of alcoholic beverages and soft drinks.

Rooms were spacious, had air conditioning and clean.Decor was fun and welcoming.

Would visit again and highly recommend

Close to train station

Located 5 minutes from train station. The staff was on top of it when we needed a taxi early the next morning and needed to phone the airline.. Located just down the street (go down to first intersection and at the left) is a fantastic highly rated restaurant with very fair prices. Hotel is a fair price for what you get, no complaints.

Great Staff.Idea hotel for railway station

Booked a single room,but was given a double after I arrived a day late owing to a problem with my railway connection.Was made very welcome and the service and standard of the room was very good for the price.If you want a hotel that is close to the railway this is the one for you.

cosy boutique hotel near main train station

nice place operated by a warm family of 4. nicely decorated rooms, with various movie themes. we got the american movie room (room 10). round-the-clock reception service. once we arrived, they provided us with a map and helped us to understand it. satisfactory breakfast spread. only drawback was the hotel unit was located on level 2, so be prepared to carrying your baggage up 1 floor to check-in, and another floor, to get to your rooms.

There is a famous and very yummy pizza restaurant just within 3 min walk from hotel. get staff to recommend, reservation required.

Do be careful of the surrounding neighbourhood. There was a flea market over the weekend near our location, and we nearly got mugged there. Then again, Naples is generally not as clean or safe than other Italy cities.

A wonderful hotel with wonderful and warm staff!

I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough! It really is a great budget hotel!

It is a family run hotel and from your first arrival you will feel very much part of it! Anna, the owner is so very friendly and helpful! Her daughter Imma and son Luigi are as much friendly and helpful! They will go beyond the usual level of service expected from other hotels.

The rooms are a delightful collection of movie themed designs which make this hotel authentic and original! The breakfasts are of a good standard and hearty so you can really set yourself up for a day of sightseeing in and around Naples!

The location of the hotel is fantastic, just a few minutes walk from the central train station and bus park for airport shuttle buses. It also has a number of good quality restaurants and pizzerias nearby as well as convenience stores, great location!

Clean & Comfortable Room

Room and bed linen are clean. Toilet is satisfactorily clean. Neighborhood is ok. Hotel has an interesting concept which is unique. Owner is very accommodating and friendly. Near to train station for easy transportation to Sorrento,Pompeii Scavi, Herculaneum and connection to major Italian cities by Fast speed trains.

Stayed happy in Napoli

We liked our stay in Napoli at the Hotel Cine Holiday very well. The staff was pleant and helpful. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable with good lighting and outlets. And unexpectedly, while we were there, WiFi was installed in our room, making our stay even better. The shower was miniscule, the shower head wouldn't stay put, and the the drain was slow, but the water was hot, which was what we needed most. The bed was the usual very firm found in both Italy and the States. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh croissants, pastries, cheese and meats, and coffee to order. Napoli makes great pastries and breads in addition to pizza. Hotel Cine is a very easy and quick walk from the train station, about 10 min. The neighborhood looks a little sketchy, but we found it to be fine, busy and lively, just be aware. We spent most of our time in the historic district, about a 15-20 min walk from the hotel. Delightful!

Port in a storm

Arrived late into Naples and arrived to friendly staff and a clean room. Nice and spacious, good shower, quiet. Can't believe the price to be honest!! It was a stones throw from the station the next day and although the area is not the nicest, it is really convenient for onward travel and plenty of restaurants and bars on the doorstep. This ended up being a real gem.

A good base from which to explore Naples and surrounds using local transport options. Nearby restaurants were very good. We didn't expect much from Naples but were pleasantly surprised with certain sections of the old town.

Lovely staff, but rooms need updating

Staff were very welcoming and helpful, and speak good English. Continental style breakfast was very good with lots of choices. The whole place was clean and nicely decorated and my room was cleaned daily. The only thing that lets it down is furniture and fittings etc have lots of wear and tear and need replacing.

The other thing to note is there is a small bar available for guests; this is nice to have but noise does carry to the bedrooms so it's a good idea to bring earplugs.

Positive aspects: Staff friendly and helpful. Daily cleaning. Great WiFi. Air conditioner. Some nice options for dinner at a short walking distance. Also 5 minutes walking distance from Napoli Central station.
Downsides: No minibar as advertised. Using the elevator costs 10 eurocent per ride. Breakfast is mostly sweet pastries, definitely not like shown in the property photos. Neighborhood looks quite dark at night, although I experienced nothing unsafe. Two nights I opened the balcony door to get fresh air, only to find car emissions from the street (smog) would fill in the room and makes it hard to keep doors open. No noise insulation. Mattress in need of renewal.

Buena relación calidad precio, o sea precio bajo calidad baja, desayuno solo pan, jamón, queso, yogurt y unas piezas de fruta. Se permite fumar en los balcones pero entra el humo a las habitaciones contiguas aun con la ventana cerrada, toda la noche percibí olor a cigarro. Lo aceptable fue la ubicación cerca de la estación, la buena atención de los dueños y la limpieza.
