Spotless, modern hotel. Free parking for guests in secure garage. First-class restaurant with delicious cuisine at reasonable prices. Rooms are well-appointed, with comfortable beds. Bathrooms are modern, with walk-in showers. Room rates are reasonable. Location is about 20 to 30 minutes from Frankfurt Airport, depending upon traffic. I cannot think of a single way to improve this hotel, and recommend it without hesitation.

Slightly disappointed

Hotel is clean and tidy, though a little dated. I was in Bad Vilbel on business in July and it was hot, unfortunately the hotel does not have air conditioning. The staff are courteous and helpful. I arrived late on Sunday night and the restaurant was closed. Had dinner there the second night and was disappointed the menu was not as advertised on the website and a little limited thought the set menu was nice.

This hotel is well-situated, just outside of Frankfurt. The property is spotless, rooms are modern and comfortable, and the staff are very friendly. The restaurant serves delicious meals at a reasonable price. I could not have been more pleased with my stay there, and will definitely do so again when I next visit the area.

lovely quiet spot

Great place to stay and visit Bad Vilbel or Frankfurt - we have family in walking distance so perfect for us. Covid-19 means breakfast is served from the normally self-service area, so the waiter was extra busy so it was not possible to really think about the choices and it could take time to get Coffee. It will be better when self- service returns, and of course that is the same everywhere in Germany right now.

Very clean, sheets and towels changed every day. Large room. We have stayed several times, always the same consistent standards. Beds a little soft for our liking but that may be just us. For the price cannot be beaten. Car parking is in short supply but on the night there was none available when we returned at 10.30pm we found street parking nearby quite easily.

The hotel was clean and always had friendly staff greeting us. Most stores were Within 1 walking minutes away and the hotel is 5 driving minutes from downtown Bad Vilbel and about 15 driving minutes from downtown Frankfurt.

Very caring and helpful staff!

Can't fault this hotel for the extra care and attention they give to a disabled person - right up to the point of emptying the first aid kit in search of remedies as the pharmacy was closed!

Lovely walk in shower with toiletries. Comfortable beds, fridge and plenty of space. For the price it cannot be beaten. Location is not great but we have family nearby so works brilliantly.

Tremendous deal

We booked this hotel for 6 nights and paid less than €250. Fantastic deal! The room was very nice. The only compliant was that the \"queen\" bed consisted of 2 twin beds pushed side-by-side. But one finds this very often in Europe. No ac. Very spacious and clean shower. The lobby area is pretty impressive, and the bar quite nice. The patio is wonderful. There are some free parking spaces on the hotel property, but most nights we had to use the underground garage at €10/night. The breakfast buffet was €15/person/day, and we ate there three times. Very good cappuccino! The only thing about the hotel bar that bothered us was the background music; they endlessly repeated the same tune for a sound machine. Somehow somebody must think that this is classy, but we found this extremely annoying.

Quiet and Relaxing

We stayed here to relax for a few days before flying back to the states. The food was great, hotel was very clean, bar was nice, and most staff were superb. We walked and there was littke traffic. We would stay here again.

Nice hotel, but single rooms are very small!

I was in a \"single\" room at the end of the hotel. The room was very small, even by European standards. I barely had enough room for me and my luggage. The Wi-fi was good, the restaurant was good and the staff was friendly. The hotel looks close to the train stations, but it is quite an uphill hike- better to take a taxi than walk if the weather is bad and/or you have heavy luggage.

Over priced poor quality...

Stayed during the recent Tradeshow so the price was highly inflated . Room needs a refurbishment, no tea or coffee facilities or spare pillows . Ate in the restaurant and the food was overpriced and not very good . Not a great deal going on around the hotel except for 2 supermarkets. Wouldn't stay here again .

Best hotel

It is the second year in a row that we are staying at the City Hotel. This is because it is one of the best hotels we 've ever stayed at. We were very pleased with the comfort of the hotel and with the great pprofessionalism of the staff. We will visit again next year .

The Staff has always been very nice and helpful and we were excited about the large rooms. We were lucky with the weather during our Germany stay which was great for sightseeing but not so nice for the stay in the hotel because there is NO air conditioning. The rooms have large windows but because it is close to a busy road, you have to choose between heat or noise... And the bathroom needed some dusting.. Other than that it was clean.
Breakfast buffet offers a great variety of foods

Americans be alert

On my recent trip to Bad Vilbel the hotel was supreme! It delivered on cleanliness, comfort, quality and more! However, being an American, not speaking hardly any German, I did now feel that I was welcome at this establishment very much. At no time was there much, if any, extra effort made to my stay effortless at any time. They were, however, ready to charge for things the hit my room but “we cannot do anything about that” statement would pop out.
At one point they (City Hotel Bad Vilbel) lost power, during the day I worked from my room, going on different bank sites at night; the front desk claims to have called my room to inform me that the power would be off and got no answer. I know I lost power in my room first, then my Wi-Fi went down and it was only found this out from the front desk once I went to them myself. Well with this power outage I lost access to the entertainment package that I signed up for but at check-out the favorite line came up, “we cannot do anything about that” thus I was still charged the full price. With that being their parting statement, the taxi could not get there fast enough for me!
The bottom line is, if and when I return to Germany, I will be better prepared for the anti-American attitudes I received from the staff at City Hotel Bad Vilbel.

2 week stay

We stayed at the Hotel for a 2 week family visit in the area. The Hotel has a restaurant , however we stayed over the Christmas holiday and Room service as well as the Restaurant were closed in the evenings . It would have been great to inform the guests staying at the hotel of that fact.
Rooms are efficient and actually very quiet . We would stay there again .

We will always remember our stay in this lovely hotel. Located in a very pretty suburb of Frankfurt, at only 10 minutes drive from the city center, made our Silvester and New Years stay unforgettable.

Nice clean room, great service, restaurant and bar were excellent. Lovely but a very quiet neighborhood. Small supermarket and bakery nearby. No restaurants except for at the hotel, unless you take the bus into nearby downtown Bad Vilbel. The 30 bus conveniently stops right across the street and takes you either into Bad Vilbel downtown or going the other way into the heart of central Frankfurt and then on to Saxenhausen.

Great Hotel!

Spent 2 weeks here in August 2014. Excellent location. Walking distance to two groceries, drug and convenience stores. 1/2 mile from some quaint shops and many varied cuisine restaurants, fast food too. Banks and other necessities close. Hotel staff was very accommodating and courteous. Decent sized room, clean shower, large windows & free WiFi. Great breakfast buffet and surprisingly better than average dinner menu. Nice lounge with large outside patio. Well stocked bar with comfy seating. All in all this hotel was much better than I had anticipated for the more than reasonable price. Will stay there again in December.

Nice value hotel just outside of Frankfurt

I initially chose this hotel because of the location and low price. For the cost, this hotel offers excellent value, with the feel of a more upscale hotel. Front desk service was excellent. The hotel is conveniently located in Bad Vilbel, just outside of Frankfurt. It is best for those with cars; although there are not many free parking spaces in front of the building, there were at least a few free spaces every time I wanted to park. There is an S-bahn station in Bad Vilbel for those taking public transportation, but the hotel is roughly 20 min walk from the station, so that's something to keep in mind. There is a restaurant in the hotel, although I did not try it. Overall, I think this hotels offers an excellent value for the price, especially compared to other hotels in the area.

Excellent for the money

The Staff were all very polite and helpful, the beds were very comfortable and the rooms spacious with excellent quality bathrooms, especially the showers. It was a pleasant change to also be provided with decent shampoo, handwash and moisturiser in decent sized bottles too rather than the silly little ones often found in hotels. A real hairdryer too instead of those horrible ones that produce a lot of heat but no blow! The only thing I missed was air conditioning, but do understand that I went during a heat wave and I cannot imagine Frankfurt/Bad Vibel often has to contend with 30 degree temperatures. I had both dinner and breakfast and the food was very good, although quite expensive, so to feed a family would be very costly.

The hotel is very nice. Breakfast was excellent, great choices, but too expensive for two people, so we ate there only once. We chose to eat elsewhere close to hotel. Beds were comfortable, room clean, bathroom facilities very good.

Sehr freundlicher Empfang, unser Wunsch nach einem „ruhig gelegenen“ Zimmer wurde erfüllt, alles sehr sauber, das Bad ist großzügig, könnte jedoch bald eine Renovierung des Waschbeckens gebrauchen. Betten sind sehr bequem.
Am Frühstücksbufett war alles da, gut präsentiert , Eierspeisen in allen Varianten, es wurde auch ständig nachgelegt…

Mein erster Aufenthalt nach der Coronapandemie, und ich war in der allermeisten Punkten, die mich interessieren, angenehm überrascht (Sauberkeit, Freundlichkeit, Parkmöglichkeiten, 24-Stunden-Rezeption). Hier hat eine \"Generalüberholung\" stattgefunden. Gut gemacht! Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis des Frühstücksbuffets ist für EUR 15,00 allerdings deutlich überhöht. Sollte ich direkt buchen und nicht über Expedia, kostet es angeblich nichts...
