Our room was not very clean. There were stains on walls, bedding and the floor. The bathroom was clean but had a horrible smell (was unsure if this was just the sewers). The soundproofing was also really poor, the room next door we could hear nearly every single noise, and someone snoring during the night.

Although the hotel itself was okay, the experience here cost is way more than we bargined for.

I made a mistake with booking, as it was an overnight flight, and we lost a day in travel.

When we showed up for the reservation we were told that we were late, and only then did I realize my mistake. We were less than 24 hours into our reservation and the person at the front checked us in right away (for what I thought was the rest of the reservation).

When it was time to checkout, we were BILLED an additional $100Euro, which was $179CAD (which is on top of the $335CAD we'd already paid to Expedia).

The receipt also showed a refund that was applied to a credit card that is not ours.

Hotel has went downhill.

I stayed in this hotel 3 years ago so decided to book again. This time was with 3 friends as we were over training Jiu-jitsu. On Sunday morning (3rd August) the girl on the desk was rude and spent the time on her phone chatting to friends while looking at makeup tutorials. We were an inconvenience to her when checking out and asking to store luggage. Each night there were A LOT of people in the corridors running rampage all night. Singing, banging doors, going up and down the elevator. The breakfast was absolutely terrible this time compared to the previous time. Definitely not worth the money. I wouldn't stay here again and would avoid if you value your sleep. Pillows aren't comfortable nor is the mattresses. 2 beds pushed together. The carpet throughout the hotel is filthy too. The location is positive though.

Our stay wasn't terrible, but it was far from great. Check-in was a bad start. The front desk staff member was unwelcoming and told us she couldn't check us in due to a system issue. We waited nearby, but she checked in another guest without informing us the system was working again.

Breakfast was another issue. I had booked for two people via Expedia, but she claimed it was only for one. I had to contact Expedia to confirm what I already knew. Our room wasn’t as advertised either—no queen bed, just two twin beds pushed together with no topper, and stained carpets.

The service didn’t improve during our stay. Other front desk staff were just as dismissive, offering no greetings and short responses. Housekeeping was also poor. One woman, who seemed like a supervisor, gave us strange looks daily, which made us uncomfortable.

To top it off, we found bugs on the ceiling near the end of our stay, including flies and mosquitoes.

On a positive note, there were a few evening staff who were friendly and helpful. They’re the reason this review isn’t a 1-star.

I’ve visited Germany many times and understand cultural differences in service, but this experience stood out in a bad way. The price might be appealing, but I’d suggest looking elsewhere.

I had a pleasant stay overall — the room was comfortable and the service was good. However, one thing that would really improve the experience is having a mini fridge in the room. It was quite hot outside during my visit, and without a fridge, I had no way to keep my water or drinks cool. A small addition like this would make a big difference for guests, especially during warmer seasons.

This is a no frills hotel but very clean and modern. The A/C works really well and isn't noisy. I also liked the part of the city it's in. Not quite downtown, but very nice, and there is metro within a 8-10 minute walk. You could also walk to the center; it takes about 25 minutes.I would only add a mini fridge to the room.

This hotel a little tired. The room was OK but the pillows were thin and small. Even the cushions were flat. Didnt much go for the grey bed linen either. We had an early start but breakfast didn't open until 7. There was no gym or evening restaurant. No shampoo or conditioner either.

A pleasant enough stay but needs improvement. Bed was comfortable, breakfast was excellent. Thermostat in room although set at 22 degrees failed to warm up the room. The only warn part of the room was in the bathroom which had an separate electric radiator.
Carpet was dirty with odd black burn? / paint? marks.
Hotel offers a free drink if guests choose not to have their room cleaned. Nice idea BUT be aware, when you get to the bar you’ll be told very few drinks included in the offer.
Staff completely absent at time of check out. See photo of abandoned reception. As I needed to catch a train, this unnecessarily check out delay was stressful!
Probably better Hotel choices in the area for the price.

Affordable and modern hotel

The Niu Coin did exactly what it said on the tin. Modern hotel with friendly staff and in my experience adhering to Covid regulations well. It is in the east end and four stops on the S-Bahn from Hbf. There isn't too much around the hotel itself but with the transport links good, it was a good place to navigate the town at an affordable price.

Rooms were basic but comfortable. Internet was fine and the towels and pillows were plentiful and my room was equipped with blinds to keep the light to.

It's not the Ritz but it is an affordable option for one or two nights which paid off handsomely if you're passing by.

De kamer was prima, echter geluids dicht totaal niet 😅. De eerste avond heb ik prima kunnen horen dat de buren het leuk hadden en de volgende ochtend kon ik een serie mee luisteren.
Wel super fijn dat er privé parkeerplaats is voor een mooie prijs. Alleen moet de bel gerepareerd worden. Ben ervoor naar binnen gelopen aangezien niemand open deed.

Die erste Mitarbeiterin war freundlich, abends war ein unfreundlicher Herr an der Rezeption. Unser Fernseher hat nicht funktioniert; der Mitarbeiter meinte zunächst wir hätten den falschen Knopf auf der Fernbedienung gedrückt und wir sollten 10 Minuten warten und es nochmals probieren. Nach mehrmaligen erfolglosem Ausprobieren und erneuten Nachfragen an der Rezeption, durften wir dann das Zimmer nach 1,5h wechseln.
Der Teppichboden im anderen Zimmer war voller Flecken; an der Duschwand ging die Dichtung ab und es hat unangenehm gerochen. Aber da es dann bereits nach 22:30Uhr war, wollten wir einfach nur noch unsere Ruhe haben. Insgesamt war das Hotel sehr hellhörig; man hörte den tv des Nachbarzimmers.
Das Frühstück war in Ordnung, die Brötchen etwas trocken und der Obstsalat sah aus, als läge er bereits lange in der Schale; der Kaffee und Tee war sehr gut. Die Lage nahe Main und EZB fanden wir gut. Wir werden dennoch das Niu Hotel nicht mehr buchen.

Ich würde die Unterkunft nicht noch einmal buchen. Der Teppich war sehr fleckig, ein Bettbezug war schmutzig, die Lüftung im Bad sehr laut. Des Weiteren, sind die Wände so dünn, dass man die Geräusche im Nebenzimmer deutlich hört, normale Unterhaltungen konnte man hören, auch die Lüftung aus dem anderen Zimmer konnte man deutlich hören, der Schlaf war daher kurz. Natürlich hätte ich dies beim Check-Out ansprechen können, aber die desinteressierte und unfreundliche Rezeptionistin hat mich doch abgehalten. Schon beim Check In gab es Probleme, bei einem vorherigen E-Mailkontakt habe ich angefragt, ob ein früher Check In möglich wäre, dies wurde bestätigt, dennoch wollte die „freundliche“ Mitarbeiterin beim Check-In mir nicht mal zuhören, erst ihre wirklich nette Kollegin hat sich dem Problem angenommen und das frühere Einchecken ermöglicht.

Das Hotel hat ein gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis und ist ca. 7 Minuten von der U/S-Bahn Ostbahnhof entfernt, von wo man sehr schnell im Zentrum von Frankfurt ist. In der Umgebung des Hotels sind fussläufig auch Cafè's und Restaurants und Supermärkte.

The location of the hotel is very bad and feels completely unsafe. There are thousands of homeless people and drug users around. We will never choose this place again. We didn’t experience any issues inside the hotel itself. The breakfast was nice, but we were not satisfied due to the surrounding area.

Die Lage ist ruhig, man kann aber schnell in die Innenstadt per U-Bahn oder Straßenbahn. Zimmer sind stylisch eingerichtet. Das Bett war bequem, die Bettdecke für die Jahreszeit zu warm, aber es gab ja eine funktionierende Klimaanlage. Das Frühstück war lecker und ausreichend und auch nie überlaufen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und bemüht. Kleines Manko bei der Dusche. Diese ist zwar schön geräumig, aber die Tür stand immer offen, so dass entweder Wasser nach außen läuft oder man die Tür mit dem Fuß und Akrobatikübungen zu hält.

Worst hotel staff

When I checked in, they asked for 300 euros as a deposit. However, when I checked out, they refused to refund the 300 euros, saying it was for the accommodation fee, even though I paid the entire room fee. The incompetent staff said they had no authority and passed it on to other staff. They did not respond at all when I contacted them. If there is no staff at the front desk, go outside. They are probably smoking and hanging out with their boyfriends.

Das Zimmer war ordentlich und modern.
Der Preis für das Zimmer stimmte.
Der Preis für das Frühstück war übertrieben. Da ich viel Beruflich unterwegs bin, kann ich nur sagen das Frühstück ist typisch Holiday Inn Express. Aufbackbrötchen und Rührei aus der Tüte. Die 19€ sind da nicht mehr berechtigt, aber der Kaffee war gut.

Ein renoviertes Zimmer. Von den Bewertungen der anderen Gäste mit dreckigen Teppichen war nichts zu sehen. Super Preis Leider, da alles frisch renoviert. Vom Bad bis zum Schlafraum war alles Top und nagelneu. Allerdings sind die Türen sehr laut, wenn diese bon anderen Zimmern in der Nähe zufallen. Dies ist das einzige Manko

Unsere Gruppe (6 Personen) wurde aus heiterem Himmel ohne Vorankuendigung in ein anderes Hotel verlegt. Und zwar sollten 4 Personen verlegt werden wogegen wir protestiert haben. Am Ende haben wir dann eine Verlegung der kompletten Gruppe bekommen.

Das Hotel ist modern, sauber und schön ausgestattet. Wir hatten ein Upgrade für ein größeres Zimmer vorab bekommen und waren etwas irritiert als wir letztendlich in einem Barrierefreien Zimmer (für Rollstuhlfahrer) standen. Die Betten waren uns leider zu hart und haben bei jeder Bewegung gequietscht, was super störend war. Für 1/2 Nächte ausreichend, für einen längeren Aufenthalt würden wir das nächste mal ein anderes Hotel wählen.

Schönes neues Hotel am Hafen. Der Empfang war freundlich, das Hotel liegt ca. 5 Minuten zu Fuß von der nächsten Straßenbahnhaltestelle / U-Bahn (Ostbahnhof) entfernt. Die Lage ist ruhig. Es gibt ausreichend kostenpflichtige Parkplätze außen und in der Tiefgarage.
In der Umgebung gibt es viele Restaurants.
Die Zimmer waren ordentlich und sauber, leider wurde ein heller Fußboden gewählt, auf dem man schon einige Flecken bei dem neuen Hotel sieht.

Leider was das Zimmer sehr dreckig. Es wurde nicht richtig gereinigt. Das Personal vom Hotel war nicht gut und man hat sich nicht wie in einem Hotel gefühlt. Handtücher waren nicht vollständig im Zimmer. Es wurden Ausreden gesucht, dass die eine neue reinigungsfirma hätten. Man zahlt für eine Leistung die man nicht bekommt. Der Preis des Hotels war nicht gerechtfertigt.
