Our credit card wasn’t charged when we booked online. So when checking in they wouldn’t accept credit card and ONLY cash.

The room was big, there is no air conditioning so we had to have the windows open at night. We stayed during a Saturday and Sunday night. Saturday night when we were going to bed it felt like I was trying to fall asleep in front of the speakers at a rock concert. The streets be low are lined with bars and the party lasted until 4:45 am when the police showed up to shut it down. We were hoping to get a better sleep Sunday night as people will have to work Monday. Not the case, Sunday had fewer people but it was just as loud and lasted all night.

If you are young and looking to party all night this is the place for you.

If you are looking to do the sightseeing and get a good nights rest I recommend looking somewhere else.

So this is an older building in a very popular nightlife spot. So be aware of what you are getting. There is no air conditioning, so beware the summer. It is also right in the middle of a very active area of bars, clubs and restaurants that stay open all night. Great if you are looking for that. Staff is very nice and helpful but don't speak English. Google Translate is your friend if you don't speak German. They also only take cash. If you're an adult looking for somewhere close to crash after partying all night and don't mind lack of AC then it's perfect

Never ever consider the place

Horrible service! Super expensive for the quality. They did not accept credit card for the payment. What kind of hotel does not accept credit card???? Even through Hotels.com I could not pay with my credit card. Just cash and a hand written receipt. Very dirty place near bars that drunk people were yelling until 4 AM.

We did not stay but stormed off after being left to wait outside in the rain and snow for an hour after our check in time. The place was so run down that by the time we got inside I didn’t trust them with my credit card and we left to walk to a new hotel. Very stressed and tired after dealing with the rude owner

The hotel was not open. No one was at the lobby and when I called the number the person told me I needed to stay in another hotel run by the same company which was on the other side of Frankfurt. This listing needs to be removed from Expedia as it has been closed for some time. Request full refund please

So, we checked in, very nice staff, went to our room which was clearly marked at Non-smoking, and it wreaked of cigarette smoke, like someone was there right before us smoking. The windows were open and we found a lighter and an empty pack of cigs. I can only guess that it was staff. We had no hot water and the light over the bathroom sink was out. I took the lighter and empty pack of cigs down to the front desk, since I didn't want to get penalized and they acted surprised. I wouldn't stay there again. Breakfast was good, but it was basically a pit. It is situated right over about 5 bars, so there was a lot of noise all the way until 4 AM. If you want to party, this is your place, if you want to sleep, it's not. It's basically a flop-house.

Good, old hotel

Ritter Hotel is a good, old hotel. It was surrounded by traditional pubs and restaurants, so I could enjoy the atmosphere. The staffs were nice, too. They gave me heart-warming services.

Stayed 1 night had requested 2 x twin rooms with additional beds - i.e. 2 x 3 bedded rooms which was confirmed with e bookers when arrived staff at reception had no understanding off this irritating as paying for 3 per room.
Best comparative is Faulty Towers !!

Nobody there to check us in! Doors closed.

We reserved a room for 2 nights on Expedia and when we arrived we found ourselves in front of a locked door and nobody there. I though maybe the hotel had been closed because it looks terrible, when the images on the Expedia site looked quite charming.
I called a number that was on a small piece of paper and a man advised that he will be there very quickly. 20 minutes went by and I called back and the same man said: Oh yes, someone will be there in 5 minutes. Another 20 minutes went by and we started to search for another hotel in the surrounding area that charged me double the price.
Ritter Hotel needs to be removed form Expedia.

Good for a short stay.

This was a good spot for a short stay. Convenient ~10 minute walk from Konstablerwache station and right in the heart of an excellent night life area. Not the most luxurious of accommodations, but for the price it was fine. Being on top of a bar made it a bit loud at night but nothing too crazy.

Ok hotel.

The rooms and exterior, are very pretty. The place is very close to everything you'll want to see in Frankfurt. The bathrooms leave something to be desired, and they are in the process of changing the carpets in the rooms. The new carpets a fairly nice... the old ones, not so much. The staff is super freindly, which is nice since the front door is always locked, and you will have to ring the doorbell everytime you come and go. I guess that the neighborhood can get a lottle rough at night. The biggest drawback is parking. You will need to park in the public parking a few blocks away, thhis is only a problem if you are driving through Germany, not that most people do... oh and I hope you like old timey stairs.

Passable for drunks, otherwise disgusting!

The hotel is located in a great pub neighborhood - pubs for blocks. The hotel is horrendously dirty and disgusting, difficult to navigate and uncomfortable. I could barely make it to the first-floor room with my suitcase, I can't imagine doing while being completely drunk - would probably break my neck. It would be good to visit the neighborhood, but never this hotel again!

Positive side, location is awesome. Bars and takeaway next door. No cabs needed.

I prepaid through Expedia. I get to the hotel and they say it wasn't paid. I pull out my receipt and she says it's for 1 room even though my receipt clearly shows 2 rooms. She calls her boss and then says \"oh it's fine. All taken care of\" then tells me to sign. As I sign I realize my credit card number is listed and the price (it's all in German other than that). I ask what is this? She grabs it and crumples it and hides it from me. I ask for it back and she refuses to give it to me. She charged my card AGAIN without my approval. Don't stay here!!!

Never, Never, Never stay here

We booked for three nights in late September 2014; we were looking for something reasonably priced, yet central for a three day layover between flights. I usually check reviews, but on this occasion had to make a decision very quickly and made a quick booking on the basis of the hotel's location, price and quaint appearance, without checking other visitors' reviews. BIG MISTAKE!
The room was tired, with stained and spotted carpets, and the bathroom was ok. For the price, I wasn't too concerned about these issues, but when we were woken at 3am by the noise of a drunken football crowd in the bar directly below our room, screaming songs and jumping up and down so much so that the whole building shook, we knew we'd made a mistake. It was only when the Police turned up about an hour or so later that the noise stopped.
We bailed after one night - we simply found it impossible to sleep and weren't sure whether there'd be a repeat performance the next night. I've never posted a negative review of a hotel before; but this was such a bad experience that it couldn't be let go without saying something.

Stayed here for one night while passing through Frankfurt. Great place for the price offered. There's no air conditioning. A lot is happening around the area so don't plan on sleeping unless you brought some ear plugs. Not for a family with small children.

Ok if you are looking for a chip hotel

We stayed just overnight on our way to Vienna, the hotel can use some remodeling. The room was small, no elevator, very narrow stairs. Frankfurt was be very expensive because for that price we were expenting something better. I will recomend paying more and get a better hotel.

City life!

This is a noisy part of Frankfurt, but nothing keeps me awake so it didn't bother me. The room was clean and fairly tidy, in an historic building with character - which I like. Nice staff who were helpful and spoke English very well, making up for my very poor German. I suppose in a city one might not be too surprised by the insect-life - and I only saw one small cockroach in a whole evening. However, in the same city environment there is no excuse for a poor internet connection. The 'free' internet access wasn't even worth the price. All in all . . . it was too expensive for what was supplied, even if there really was a big car show in the city that weekend.

Great location- clean & comfortable!

Cute place! Clean, comfortable, front desk 24 hours, lots to do right out front door. Safe location- feel safe even at 2 or 3 am being outside alone. This is not 4 star hotel but it's excellent for price! Parking is on street and you must pay between 8am and 6pm but other than that this place is great!! Would stay again!

Perfect location

If you are going to stay just for a day or two in Frankfurt, this is the place to stay, right in the middle of the most touristic place in the city, also very close by are the financial district, the river. In conclusion, if you don't have too much time but still want to visit the city, go to this hotel. The comfort is not the greatest, but decent for 1 or 2 nights max.

Awful hotel. No air conditioning so the windows had to be kept open at night- unfortunately this meant that the noise outside the hotel was easily heard inside the room. Even with ear-plugs it was impossible to sleep. The hallway carpets stank and were older than I am. The staff were not very helpful- especially the night porters. We were left outside ringing the doorbell for around 15 minutes at night (the front door is always locked) until the night porter let us in. He appeared to be drunk and only answered the door after I rang the reception telephone. Do not stay here. The area is full of late night bars and they never seem to close! You will not get any sleep.

Too loud, too confined , good location to party

Bars around make it impossible to sleep unless you party with them! A quiet room exists but is a hole with hardly any light. Poor value for money. Breakfast is ok though and staff is friendly and helpful.

The only problem for me was that there was no elevator, just stairs, since it's a very old, beautiful, historical frame-work building. I had a heavy suitcase that I could't carry upstairs. However, I was allowed to leave it downstairs behind the reception desk, so my problem was solved!!! The personnel was VERY friendly. I liked it so much after the first two nights that I came back a week later for another night. I would recommend this hotel for young and fit people who don't have much money, who don't bring heavy luggage or can carry it, who can climb stairs, and who want to be in the middle of night life (it's in a street with lots of pubs and bars, and you can hear them until about 4 a.m.). I wouldn't recommend it to people who need absolute silence, or have trouble walking, since it's in a street (Grosse Ritter Gasse) where taxis aren't allowed to drive, so people have to drag their luggage over cobble stone pavement for a few minutes until they reach the entrance. There's a taxi stand right in the next street, Elizabeth Strasse. You need a cell phone working in Germany to call the taxis if none are there at the moment! The prices of Ritter Hotel are GREAT! Where else can you find that in a big city like Frankfurt for such beautiful rooms with shower and TV? The breakfast was wonderful. I'm definitely coming back.

Non è un albergo. All'arrivo ho trovato chiuso e ho dovuto telefonare per far arrivare qualcuno che ha voluto contanti (manca una reception degna di questo nome). La stanza era datata con un bagno indecente. Può andare bene al massimo per una notte . Peccato perche la posizione è molto buona.

Check in Katastrophal. Hat 20 min gedauert. Die Buchung wurde erstmal nicht gefunden. Nach ewiger Telefoniererei des Rezeptionisten, hat es dann irgendwann doch geklappt. Das 2. Zimmer war jedoch gar nicht vorbereitet (1 Bett zu wenig). Zahlung mit Kreditkarte war dann auch nicht mehr möglich. Mussten dann Bar zahlen und erstmal ausreichend Bargeld besorgen.Das hat in der Vergangenheit mal deutlich besser geklappt.

ich habe das Hotel gebucht weil es direkt neben dem Hooters Restaurant liegt. Klar dass es in dieser Partymeile nachts bisschen lauter zugeht, dafür lagen aber als Service des Hauses direkt Ohrenstöpsel auf dem Bett, das fand ich sehr aufmerksam und hat geholfen, gut zu schlafen, ich kann dieses Hotel sehr empfehlen

Sehr solides 2* Hotel. Die Zimmer waren recht sauber. Die Matratze hart (das bewerte ich positiv!), Handtücher und Bettwäsche ebenfalls ohne Flecken. Beim CheckIn war es etwas seltsam, dass man sich sein Namen quasi auswählen durfte, nachdem man auf einer Liste die Buchungen für den heutigen Tag angesehen hat. Auch dass man ein andere Zimmer bekommen hatte, nachdem man angegeben hatte, dass man nicht nur aus einer reinen Männertruppe besteht. Das Frühstück konnte man ohne Problem für 8€ pro Person dazu buchen. Auf dem Bett lagen Ohropax kostenlos aus, wenn man doch frühzeitig schlafen möchte. Da alles reibungslos geklappt hat empfehlen wir dieses Zimmer gerne weiter. :-)

Das Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen. Deutlicher Sanierungsstau vorhanden. Einrichtung und Bad alt. Jedoch sind die Zimmer sauber und geräumig.
Wir hatten zwei Dreierzimmer (plus Zustellbett) und waren für eine Nacht Junggesellenabschied dort. Die Lage hierfür ist perfekt und für eine Nacht mit wenig Anspruch kann man das Hotel gut nehmen.
Frühstück hatten wir nicht gebucht.

We got a free upgrade and could stay in a basic but modern and spacious apartment around the corner. A nice surprise was the breakfast with a large selection of bread and spreads, cereals, juices, etc. in the charming basement of the hotel. Excellent hospitality from the staff. Recommended!

Sehr spartanische und teilweise \"improvisierte\" Ausstattung. Uns wurde alternativ zum Doppelzimmer zum gleichen Preis ein Studio in einem wenige Meter entfernten Haus angeboten, das etwas besser ausgestattet war. Trotzdem mussten wir z. B. mit einer nicht schließbaren Badezimmertür und mit unterschiedlich hohen Matzratzen des Doppelbetts \"leben\".

Fazit: Für geringe Ansprüche und bei nur kurzem Aufenthalt für den Preis gerade noch akzeptabel.

O hotel tinha um aspecto de pousada, a porta da recepção estava fechada e houve uma pequena demora para abrir, com uma recepção minúscula que mal cabiam 2 pessoas. Era visível uma escada de degraus estreitos, que não daria para levarmos nossas malas que eram grandes... A recepcionista logo nos ofereceu um up grade sem custos adicionais ( um apart ) que ficava a cerca de 200m... logo aceitamos e nem conhecemos as acomodações desta “pousada”... o referido quarto, ficava no segundo andar de um prédio antigo cujo elevador estava quebrado, levando a um esforço adicional de subirmos varias malas pesadas pelas escadas, mas pelo menos era limpo, amplo com uma pequena cozinha e um banheiro... sem duvida melhor que o que havia sido previamente reservado...
No entorno, havia vários barzinhos e pubs, bem animados, um deles pertencentes ao
próprio hotel, o que não nos teria deixado dormir cedo caso tivéssemos ficado nele.
O hotel ainda era um pouco distante do centro, para irmos andando, cerca de 1,5km

Wunderbares Ambiente im alten Fachwerkhaus. Personal sehr zuvorkommend, freundlich, hilfsbereit. Frühstücksbuffet in Ordnung. Lage im alten Stadtviertel mit vielen kleinen Gässchen und Kneipen, im Sommer möglicherweise laut, jetzt im Winter ruhig. Kein Straßenverkehr. Kostenloses Wlan. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt. In the hearth of Sachsenhausen with no lift

The room was small but clean. The house is really old and the noisees those of old housees. I stayed from wednesday to monday in august and had no trobble sleeping, although the room was to Grosse Rittergasse. The service was frendly; some problems with languages. Mitten drin statt nur dabei....

man mitten in Sachsenhausen eine Unterkunft sucht, kann man nicht davon ausgehen ein ruhiges Plätzchen zu finden. Also alles gut.
Die Zimmer sind schlicht, reichen zum Schlafen. Frühstück, .... eher nicht mit buchen... .
Wenn man weder Luxus noch Ruhe sucht, durchaus empfehlenswert

Hotel in der Partymeile.

Hotel liegt mitten in der Partymeile von Sachsenhausen. Es ist die ganze Nacht sehr laut. Selbst bei geschlossenen Fenstern hört man die Leute reden und feiern. Ist nur für Leute die gerne bis zum Sonnenaufgang ausgehen.

Niemals wieder!

Das Hotel ist in der Partymeile da wird bis in die Morgenstunden laut gefeiert. Die Fenster halten keinen Lärm ab sodass Schlaf unmöglich ist. Das Hotel ist ein einziger Sanierungsstau und ich bin nicht penibel aber der Teppich ist so widerlich verdreckt, dass man die Schuhe anbehalten muss. Nie wieder. Der Mann an der Rezeption ist aber nett.

Nicht mal dem armen Ritter würdig

Wenn man den Eingang endlich entdeckt hat, geht es mit Klingeln und Warten weiter, bis sich die Tür öffnet. Deutsch wird leider keines gesprochen, mitten in Deutschland. Zu den Zimmern führt nur eine enge Treppe. Mangels ordentlicher Zimmerbeschriftung, war die Zimmersuche nicht ganz trivial. Der schmierige Eindruck vom Hotel, geht auch im Zimmer weiter. Die Möbel sind alt, abgelebt und teils kaputt. Die Verkabelung hängt teils aus der Wand und beim Licht gibts den einen oder anderen Wackelkontakt. Sauber oder gar Hygienisch ist das Zimmer nicht, dreckige Teppiche und Vorhänge, Haare auf dem Bett. Rauchmelder waren abmontiert. Auch das Bad hat schon lange keine ordentliche Reinigung mehr gesehen.
Beim Frühstück führt sich der Eindruck so weiter. Hier wird zwar versucht, mit einfachen Mitteln möglichst viel herzumachen, doch leider scheitert es bereits an sauberen Tellern.

nous avons choisi cette hôtel par rapport aux prix et surtout c'était proche du zoo mais dommage qu'il n 'y a pas de parking privé pour l'hôtel se déplacer et payer un parking et oubli d'un lit supplémentaire pour le petit très décevant .

Nie wieder Ritter Hotel

Vollkommen überfordertes Personal ohne jegliche Deutschkenntnisse. Wusste überhaupt nichts von der Buchung und verwies uns an ein anderes Hotel auf der anderen Mainseite.

Acceuil: 0 - Chambre non disponible, ne parle pas anglais etc ...
Propreté: limite voire très limite.
Sécurité de la chambre à revoir au plus vite !!
Très bruyant.
Oublié le pt déjeuner allez dans une boulangerie ca sera bien mieux !!
CCL: à éviter !!!
