This is one of those ‘hip’ stripped-down places like Moxy. One shared iron in the ‘galley’ on the landing floor, no closet, no water, coffee, tea, kettle, phone or fridge in the room. No coffee provided in common areas. Self check-in at bar on 6th floor.

Staff nice enough, good bar service, excellent location. Fine overall, but somewhere between a fancy hostel and an actual hotel. Will suit some better than others.

Very nice hotel just know what to expect...not your traditional reception desk, the bar doubles as reception on the 6th floor, then off to your room which will have a glass cube for the shower, there is a curtain to pull round if you need privacy, the toilet is in a separate frosted glass cube, the basin is in the bedroom itself. The soap, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion all smell great.

There is no tea and coffee in the room but in the galley on the ground floor is tea and coffee to make yourself.

The hotel is an easy 6 stops and 20 minutes no changes needed from the airport get off at Hauptwacher station, the important thing is to get off the train and walk along the platform towards the back of the train, up the escalator then at an angle of 10 o clock go up the next escalator and you are outside, this is the nearest exit to the hotel and it is a few minutes walk to the entrance

The staff was very helpful and very friendly and the signage throughout the building itself is very uniquely done. Shower was terrific! Sink area in the main portion of the bedroom which did not see very practical. This was a very difficult location to find. With GPS there are no indicators of how you could actually drive to the front door of the hotel because there really is no front door. You might go down a little lane that leads to the bottom floor which is the door that you would take to go up to the sixth floor where reception is. It would be impossible to do that on a weekend evening as many people walk with in the street and it is a dead end so you must back out.You must go to a parking garage, there is no porter or valet service at this hotel. Having substantial luggage for this hotel is not optimal.

• Poor service and communication: We weren’t told about major street closures for the Frankfurt Triathlon, which directly impacted our checkout timing. On top of that, a maintenance worker showed up at our door unannounced one day to install a peephole. No warning, no explanation.
• Noise issues: Doors slam loudly throughout the floor, and construction noise from the neighboring building continues despite earlier guest complaints. No earplugs, no heads-up, no gesture.
• Housekeeping skipped: Even though we didn’t opt out, our room was not cleaned daily.
• “Lean” amenities: Communal hot water tap isn’t hot enough; coffee tasted bad. No kettle, phone or minibar in the room.

Funky gem at the heart of Frankfurt

Stayed for one night to enjoy Frankfurt. Location was excellent and the hotel is really nice - friendly staff, easy check in, our room were functional, clean and beautifully designed. The hotel also has a rooftop bar that we enjoyed. Walking distance to many of Frankfurt's attractions.

Das Hotel selber war recht gut. Leider muss ich aber grosse Abstriche beim Servicepersonal am Empfang verteilen. Beim Einchecken wurde ich unfreundlich begrüsst, und als ein Störfakt im Gespräch unter Mitarbeitern angesehen. Als ich zum Empfang zurückgekehrt bin, um nach Papiertüchern zu fragen, wurde ich erneut sehr unfreundlich und arrogant behandelt, da ich das Gespräch wieder störte. Auch wurde mir arrogant vorgeworfen nicht meine Zimmernummer sofort parat zu haben, wobei man das einfach im Computer nachschlagen könnte. Nachdem ich die Zimmernummer mitgeteilt hatte und der Zimmerservice an der Tür klopfte, hatte er neue Decken und Handtücher aber keine Papiertücher dabei, was klar beweist wie einem zugehört wurde. Leider wurde man auch nicht vom Empfang vorbereitet, dass morgens ab 8Uhr Bauarbeit im Hotel vorgenommen werden, und man Schlafen vergessen kann, auch im Urlaub.
Etwas seltsam ist es, dass man durch die Kabine mit der Toilette zur Dusche kommt, die durch eine weitere Tür abgetrennt ist.
Ich würde gerne auf eine positive Note enden, und möchte herausheben, dass die Lage super war um in the Innenstadt zu kommen oder von einem Zentralknotenpunkt die U-Bahn überall hinzufahren.

Check in was a fiasco. You are essentially on your own as the person who is supposed to check you in is also making drinks at the busy bar. There was a huge line as a result.

The rooms have an odd design with raised platform around the bed making it seem like the bed is in the floor. The tv is about a foot above the bed making it even more cramped. Half of the body wash and shampoo didn’t even work. We tried the bar on the 6th floor and the service was awful. Was there for close to an hour after they served the first drink and no one even bothered to check back in. I wanted some food and another drink. Guess they didn’t need the business. Good luck to complain to anyone as there are no phones in the rooms and no real front desk other than the bar.

The one highlight is that this place is near the old town and right in the middle of the shopping district. And the rooms didn’t seem dirty or anything so kudos to the cleaning staff.

They claim a lot about eco friendliness yet their windows are sealed causing you to rely on air conditioning when it is 50 degrees outside. But the good thing is that the air conditioner does work quite well. I was actually cold while sleeping.

While I am sure there are far worse hotels in Frankfurt this one at best is mediocre.

Wonderful boutique hotel

The Ruby Louise is a boutique design hotel with nice sized rooms, comfy beds and a 24 hour bar which also serves as a check in area. There is a wonderful outdoor terrace as well which looks like it would be greatly enjoyed in warmer weather. It's very centrally located right behind the Madison Avenue of Frankfurt and a short walk to the more reasonably priced shopping streets and historic center with all its classic cafes and heritage buildings. Highly recommend!

I arrived at 7am on New Year's Eve and with a 3pm check-in had planned to drop my luggage, have breakfast and explore. However, Miriam and Savid were most helpful and got me into my room immediately. I had read a comment about the \"inconvenience\" of the bar/reception, but I had no issue with it on checking in or out.
The \"cozy\" room was lovely and lived up to its presentation on the website. I had read a review about the \"stage\" bed--basically a futon on a raise platform-- being difficult to manage for a couple in their 50s, I'm 64 and, again, had no problem. I would rethink this room option if you have mobility issues.
The location is ideal. you are in the heart of the Zeil shopping district--a little to bougie for my wallet but the Galleria is also close. You are a stone's throw from the Opera and there are restaurants of all calibers nearby.
With the help of Filip at the bar, and a old-school paper map, I walked to the Goethe House, Rommerplatz, and across the Eiserner Steg to the Spadel Museum. On checking out Carlos helped me with a room charge issue and assured me that it would be refunded.
Ruby Louise is a great way to experience Frankfurt! It is hip [but not cliche] the location couldn't be better, but it is largely due to the staff mentioned above that my stay was exceptional. I currently live in Kazakhstan and Frankfurt is my gateway to parts beyond, in the future rather than a layover I will opt for a stayover and I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

This hotel is a whole vibe. Check in is at the bar. Super cool rock star decor. Like a Manhattan loft turned into a hotel. Excellent location right in fancy town shopping area. We were there for christmas markets which were right nearby. One thing that I didn't realize are the stage beds. You walk up a few stairs and the bed is flush with the floor. It's sunken down. So we crawled into it. And crawled out of it and down the stairs in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. Breakfast was so expensive that we skipped that and grabbed what we wanted nearby (and at markets). They held our luggage on both arrival day and check out day which was great.

My go to hotel in Frankfurt, I get not everyone's cup of tea, but it is exactly like you see on the pictures. Well located for exploring the City, If arriving by train from the airport or main train station get off at Hauptwache stop and exit towards the end of the train you have just got off, the station before on the map may look nearer but it isn't. Reception is on the sixth floor, you need a card to access the other floors. Dedicated check in staff would be nicer rather than having to disturb someone from the bar is my only criticism. The shower is great and lovely smelling soap and shower gel, comfy bed and warm duvet

These are the coolest hotels ever. I’m always happy when there’s one where I’m going. You should know, though there are no closets or adequate drawers. Just a few hooks on the wall so if it’s a long-term stay, you might want to rethink it.

The oddest stay ever. The bed was built into the floor - LEVEL WITH THE FLOOR - we are 50!!! We had to literally crawl out of bed ever morning and night. The room was so tiny (even tinier than European tiny) - it was for 1 person, not 2! If we would have been staying longer than 2 nights - we would have left. The desk/bar/check-in folks were not friendly, especially the blonde lady. Not pleasant.

As a solo traveller this was the perfect hotel to stay. The neighborhood is very safe and upscale with so many options for food and entertainment close by. The immediately surrounding area is quiet and has high end shopping. Just a few blocks away is a questionable area after dark. The hotel has a fun vibe. Rooms are a tight squeeze for two people with luggage even if not getting the smallest side. Only travel with someone you’re extremely comfortable with because privacy is not much of a thing in these rooms.

Had a fine stay with Ruby Louise. Good location, spacious room, smooth check-in/check-out. Did the complimentary drink in lieu of housekeeping for 3 days. Excellent grape vodka cocktail made with discarded grapes. The toilet and shower were in the same enclosed area which I don’t love. This was a solo trip prob wouldn’t return if with my gf.

The entrance was in a kind of alley. Had to go to the top floor and check in at the bar. They asked for your passport number as part of check in. The bartender/desk agent didn't provide any information about the hotel which would have been useful. For example, there is no telephone or refrigerator in the room (both very inconvenient), and no way to make coffee. But there are \"galleys\" on certain floors where you can make coffee. This is pretty inconvenient in general, but we weren't even informed of these things upon check in.

Fantastic clean hotel ,with ultra cool vibe, modern retro decor and very easy checking in process on ipad. Welcome drink and service with a smile from relaxed young staff. We read all the terrific reviews prior to booking. Our expectations were far surpassed! Excellent stay! Ruby Louise has an awesome vibe, terrific staff, and wonderful rooms. Rocco makes awesome cappuccinos! Dido , good luck in med school! Szylvia, welcomed us and gave us great recommendations. You have to try the Ruby margarita with smoky mezcal. Breakfast was traditional fare and late night drinks very convenient. Walking distance to great restaurants or short Uber if you don’t feel like taking the train. We will visit again! Great location in the heart of the financial district and high end shopping. Short walk to train station. Amazing rooftop patio with incredible scratch cocktails. I absolutely loved my stay at the Ruby Louise! I stayed as a solo traveler in a cozy room and it was perfect. The room was clean, well stocked for supplies (including 2 different scents for body wash which I appreciated) and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The hotel felt very safe, the only access without a room card was to the 6th floor where both the reception and 24 hr bar were and I was surprised how quiet it was.

The hotel had a cool unique vibe with subtle but impactful touches such as an amp in the room that you could plug your phone into or borrow a guitar to rock out. A galley kitchen with free coffee and tea and a vending machine with snacks and supplies. My only complaint was there were no cups when I ventured in at 1am (perfect opportunity for reusable themed mugs in each room to borrow or purchase).

The staff were lovely and the breakfast buffet is not to be missed! I look forward to staying again in the future :)

Fun, inviting, comfortable, and a perfect place to stay when traveling. The bar and terrace are incredibly fun and the staff is very knowledgeable, helpful, and communicative. Philip was awesome! Gave us great recommendations and great conversation!
