Do not recommend

Warning about location, it’s kinda at the border between the city side and train station side (where there are many many homeless people and drug addicts). Although the room was clean, everthing was very old. There is no AC in the rooms and the temperature and humidity are unbearable. We had the room facing the main street and the room was really very hot. Do not recommend overall

This hotel is in downtown Frankfurt. It is within walking distance of the old city and also the train station. There is onsite parking for 10 Euro a day. The room was clean and comfortable. The only issue I had is that reception closes after 1030 pm and there is a door immediately to the left to enter. However, the sign is only in German. They just need to add a sign in English as well. I ended up calling to find out how to enter with my key. Other than that, everything was fine.

This was my second stay here, close to the main train station and attractions. Many restaurants in the area, mainly Middle Eastern though. If you are desiring traditional German faire, go to the Romerplatz area.

Travelled with three friends, so this fulfilled our needs. although one room was quite a bit larger than the other. Basic at the moment (no bar or restaurant during Covid-19), but comfortable. Location (near train station) is convenient for exploring the city on foot; there were a few \"undesirables\" on the streets in the evenings, but they weren't bothering tourists, as far as I could tell. Some decent bars and restaurants within a couple of minutes walk.

Nice clean place. Small elevator. Only 2 complaints were that the flat sheet they used as a fitted sheet was too small and I always found that it had come off during the night and I was sleeping on the mattress itself. Second, the doors don't have any inside locking device and one morning the maid walked in while I was still in bed.

The service was horrible. I booked for two adult and a child and they only gave us one doble my husband has to sleep in the floor. They said that they don’t have other rooms.They need to paint the walls and do a lot of date. But the hotel is very close to the center.

The receptionist at the time of checkout asked me to pay for the room whereas the paper she showed to me clearly said that it's pre-paid. On explaining to her that I have already paid, she showed me another paper where she seems to have charged gues on checkout even after prepayment. I find it suspicious as to why hotel would ask for payment and then say it's fine when we explain to them. Otherwise the stay was comfortable and room clean, excellent location. Good Value for money. Bed could be more comfortable though.

Excellent Value for money/Location

Based on factors I consider important where I stay, Value for money, Staff, cleanliness, location, facilities I would rate this hotel very highly, of course a little wear and tear shows but that can happen in the most expensive hotels, they do 'take a bashing' from time to time. but the points I highlight were very good, especially the staff whom I believe can make or break a hotel stay, even when there are problems good staff can make things good again.

There was only one minor problem during a stay, the lift broke down but was quickly fixed while we were out, (it could have been a problem as our room was on the 6th floor), there is a little noise from the trams outside but nothing that stopped us sleeping and there were some noisy guests on one night (a group of younger guests who were occupying about 4-5 rooms) Facilities are good, no kettle but that is common in Western Europe, there is a fridge and the heating was excellent as was the bathroom, the room is large and the bedding great providing a comfortable sleep.

Location is excellent 5-10 mins walk from the main railway station, many nearby shops, 5-10 minutes walk from the main City Centre, the Old Town and the River but also with a tram stop just a few metres from the hotel entrance.

There is a small bar and breakfast room, breakfast is seldom well priced and is a self-service continental buffet with an excellent staff member taking care of things

Plus points - Rooms clean, basic but functional and good wifi reception. Good location for the railway station.

Negatives - \"Air conditioning\" turned out to be a desk fan, awful pillows and uncomfortable beds led to a poor nights sleep. Contractors to the rear of the building started extremely noisy construction work at 0715hrs.

Fire doors to stairwells propped open with bins - a clear fire risk.

Budget hotel that has nothing to do with Tennessee

This is a budget hotel, so no thrills! A tad DDR in the feeling department (notstalgics take notes) and furnishing. Thin walls allow for ample entertainment. Location also gives a quick immersion in Istanbulism and if you enjoy speaking Turkish, you will have plenty of opportunity with the friendly community in the area. Plenty of simple budget flavourful dining options literally steps away.
One of the highlight of this hotel is the breakfast that Angela puts together and enjoy hosting. Plentiful, varied, and a perfect ratio $$-quality and quantity.

very conveniently located for the opera house. It had parking too which was a bonus although some very tight corners to get round. Also we got blocked out of the parking by someone parking randomly across the access and the hotel wasn't very helpful in resolving it. good breakfast buffet. Extremely fair price

I had booked a single bed room for a six night stay. The problem I had with the hotel was the bed mattress. The bed mattress had no support and you could feel the bed springs on your back. It felt as if I was laying on a hammock. After three nights of not being able to sleep on the mattress, I decided to check out of the hotel prematurely after three night. I asked the hotel worker if I can pay for an upgraded room where they might use a different mattress but she said they are all the same.

it is a budget hotel, so be ready. Yet for a budget hotel, it is as good as it gets considering you are very close to the opera house, a three minute walk from the Main, a five minute walk to the Museum corridor, and the ambiance of Istanbul without the chaos, albeit Germanized.
value/quality of breakfast is the best in town under the warmth and caring hands of Angela, always ready to fill you up on coffee.
stayed in a rom facing the back of hotel. very quiet. walls can be a bit thin, so be considerate or knock on the dor of yout neighbor and ask him quietly to zip it, which they usually do.

Well-located hotel in ethnic neighborhood

The hotel is neat and comfortable, in an ethnic neighborhood that is well located, halfway between the main Frankfurt train station and the Willi Brandt financial center plaza. Street noise level is quite high, but you cannot hear it with the windows closed. Also, several cheap restaurants and grocery stores nearby. Frankfurt's historical center is about 20 minutes away on foot.

Great for one night in Frankfurt

This was a fine place to stay for my overnight layover in Frankfurt. It was between the train station and the old town, so the location was good. The neighborhood was not nice, but was fine in the daylight. The room was tiny but comfortable and very clean. There was no AC, which was not great.

Reception staff have some difficulty with English sometimes -I was told to come back when the manager was available but her times never fitted in with my days activities. English lessons for staff??

Also, there was not one single English channel was available on the TV -same at my other hotel, perhaps this could be looked at by German Tourism for us single language travellers....

Everything about the Memphis was very good, it's only downfall is that it over looks a VERY noisy street that isn't quiet until well into the night. A well appointed room, comfortable beds & travel weary bodies slept anyway.

If you're looking for a good place to stay for a night you can't beat the location for convenience to the train station, food & shops. Frankfurt was our portal to Europe, so this was perfect. Not to the mention the great price.

I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is clean, comfortable & serves an excellent breakfast for 8.50 euros! The lady who serves the breakfast is fantastic. If you walk or Taxi in,or use public transportation, it's a good place to stay. Not particularly good if you're driving. Only parking is some pull-ins around the corner that cost 3 euros an hour. There is a parking garage nearby but Germany has some special card you need to use it & the desk clerks @ this hotel have no idea how to advise you on parking. A great holiday!

Having participated in the Frankfurt Marathon I needed a hotel that was close to where the race was being run and Memphis was the best value for money choice. I would definitely recommend if to anyone and would stay there again as all of the staff there were excellent and very attentive to my needs. Nothing was ever a problem for them and they were very friendly and courteous. One of the best hotels I've stayed in for the price I paid.

If all you want is a place to lay your head during a business trip, the Memphis will be fine. You can get a decent night's sleep and a not-bad breakfast. You'll probably want to eat / socialise elsewhere and at least it's close to transport links for that.

Staying by the station is never going to be the nicest neighbourhood in a city but at least it's convenient if you expect to be moving around. This is a effectively a budget hotel, so it's expensive for what you get, but apparently that's normal in Frankfurt. The bed was comfortable enough and the room was clean even if basic.

Very convenient for the station and therefore for the Messe (you can get the S-bahn to the Torhaus from which is is typically easier to reach most of the exhibition halls than from the Messe U-bahn stop). Clean, comfortable hotel with good breakfast and free wifi. As with everything in Frankfurt, it is overpriced during a big exhibition week, but certainly nicer than some other options which are similarly priced.

Nice hotel if just staying a short while

nice and clean, very fast internet, no issues with my room at all. Bathroom also adequate and clean. At the edge of the more dodgy parts of the bahnhof area so it's nice to walk around and no problems at night. Didn't try the breakfast- really nice upscale restaurants and cafe just a block away or the more ethnic ones nex door. A good stay for 2 days

The staff is nice and very helpful. There was no A/C only a fan. It was 80 degrees Fahrenheit one day. The rooms was big. They don't have double beds just singles pushed together. The street the hotel was on is very busy and not that clean looking. The city it is in is nice. The hotel was affordable and suited it's purpose. Oh and bring house shoes if you don't like hard surfaces the room is all wood. They maid does not clean it until you leave.

We needed economical accommodation for a single night in Frankfurt and this hotel was quite suitable. It is close to the Frankfurt HBF (train station) and is reasonably priced. The rooms are small and basic but fine for the price. There is a low price breakfast option but we chose to get out and see a bit of the town so can't give an opinion on its quality. Check-out at midday is very generous and although there is not much room in reception, the staff were very helpful in storing bags for us.

Staff very helpful and friendly. This hotel is within walking distance of the exhibition centre, main station and lots of restaurants. Fine for my needs while attending the exhibition. May not be the best hotel to use for a holiday or weekend away as it is quite noisy. Trams passing on the road outside can be quite loud. Apart from noise, nothing to complain about.

I stayed in Frankfurt one night only, catching the connecting flight, so didn't really look for anything fancy. This hotel was exactly what I was looking for - a decent place to sleep, and a good location close to the train station.

The room was relatively spacious, clean, with a mini bar. The bed was comfortable, but I really didn't like the pillow, the big square thingy... It must be a German thing, because I read about these pillows in the other hotels' reviews too.

Wi-fi was fast and worked great (no interruptions), but make sure your reservation says clearly it's included, otherwise they may ask you to pay for it at the reception.

I stayed in this hotel before and will likely go there again.

Nice hotel close to main train station. The hotel is located a couple of streets away from the red light district. We arrived at the train station late at night but did not feel uncomfortable when walking to the hotel.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel had free wifi and the speed was good. I was pleased with the accommodations and would stay here again.

This hotel is located on a very busy street. People were out and shouting at each other late into the night and I believe a bus would stop nearby with regularity, and it was impossible to sleep. No air conditioning, so if you have a room on the street, you have to leave the window open and can't help but hear everything. If you choose this hotel, request a room on the other side of the building.

Great location but hot!

We enjoyed the great location and good service; however, the hotel could not cope with hot days. There was no air conditioning whatsoever, and a fan in the room was not enough for comfort. Our room was on the street side so it was noisy at night with the windows open. Not recommended in hot weather!

The staff was friendly and helpful. It was a little noisy at night, even if your room was overlooking the courtyard but it wasn't terrible. The room was very clean but tiny. However, I didn't find that problematic. Overrall a nice place an conveniently located close to the train station and Messe hall.

When I arrived at the hotel, the individual on duty looked at me then went back to what he was doing. I waited a couple of minutes before he even really acknowledged my presence. Later that evening I asked about the internet access. He rolled his eyes and acted like it was a huge deal to print me out the username and password. The location of the hotel is located a couple of blocks from Frankfurt Hauptbahnof which I thought would be great for catching my early train. Little did I know that this \"4-star\" hotel is located in Frankfurt's redlight district with lot's of shady characters prowling around. It has clean rooms and comfy beds but everything else was very dissatisfying.

Pay the $30 more an get a decent night's sleep.

This hotel is very dissapointing compared with the pictures. The rooms are small, the bathrooms even smaller, and the beds are tiny. There is no airconditioning either, so I would not reccomend staying here in the summer. The hotel does not supply any soap or shampoo. The hotel is located very close to the district around the train station, so one does not feel safe at night and there are a lot of sketchy people meandering about. The street noise is also bothersome.

A nice find in a central location

This hotel is just half a block from Willy-Brandt-Platz. The rates reflect that it's in an ethnic neighborhood that might not be the very best, but the location is very close to areas where the prices are so much higher. I never felt uncomfortable. And the people in the hotel were so accommodating and helpful. It was a great stay.

Memphis Hotel:Warm welcome and Convenient location

The Memphis Hotel is about 2 short blocks from the train station and within easy walking distance to the financial district and some museums. We had read that it was in the red light district but think more of that action is a few blocks away. I felt safe walking around and didn't see anyone who I would remotely identify as a prostitute. It struck me that the neighborhood was an immigrant one (there are a lot of Indian and Asian markets and restaurants) with families. We saw kids walking to school in the morning. You do hear city noise though (there is a tram that goes up and down the street) and there is a cafe/bar across the street that stays open late and some patrons are loud leaving.

The room was clean and comfortable, but there is no iron, coffee maker or toiletries (soap dispenser only). The room did have a small fridge and flat screen TV with a number of stations, and plenty of space in the built in armoire. The staff are very welcoming. The breakfast buffet is fresh, plentiful and well worth the price (cold cereals, rolls/bread, yoghurt, cold cuts/cheese, juices, fresh fruit salad, etc.).

The neighborhood is full of inexpensive restaurants (Indian, handburger/fries) and shops. There is a bakery/cafe close by. The train station is also full of food and other shops. The train from the airport was quick (about 15-20 mins) and convenient. We only stayed for one night but would go again and recommend it for anyone who wants clean, comfortable accommodations in a central location.

They report that they are close to the HBF but if your carrying luggage then get a cab. If your driving, the parking in the back is crazy tight. There is some nice restaurants to the north and if you get a room away from the street it is quiet enough to get a good nights sleep. There is no air conditioning in the whole country but there is a fan in these rooms, that was very nice on these hot days. The older woman that was running the desk in the morning was a pain, she acts like she's doing you a favor just being there. The young lady that worked the evening shift was very helpful and a pleasure to be around so if you need anything best to ask when you check in. If you wait for morning you will meet miss crabby who is looking for a way to tell you it can't be done.

The hotel is well maintened and allows internet use at the bar or wifi for 10euros for 24hrs
Walking distance 4 mins from the station
Good breakfast the price is higher compared to similar hotel next to the station
Lot of restaurants and night life at 1km radius
The best part is the eashroom

A wintry overnight

We arrived at the Memphis in late evening, on foot from the train station, after slogging through an early snowstorm. So we were glad to lay our heads on comfortable beds in a clean room. Breakfast buffet was satisfactory and opened early the next morning, which was good because we had to leave early to get train to airport and catch our plane home. Only problem was that the cab we ordered the previous evening wasn't there in the morning as expected and apparently had not been called in by hotel staff. We ended up having to walk back to the train station in the snow, which did not make us happy and marred what would otherwise have been a satisfactory, if very short, stay.

Memphis- Good hotel just noisy at night

Service was good, clean room & bathroom, good continental breakfast, good location near train station and other sites, free wireless internet. The only complaint is if you have a room on the street it is quite noisy at night.

Good hotel -- Noisy Neighborhood

The hotel was nice; our room was very clean, comfortable, and large for a European hotel. The service and continental breakfast was nice. It's pretty close to the the train station and the shopping and tourist areas. We were expecting free wireless internet, but you had to purchase it, and it was very expensive for a two-night stay. The only real complaint we had is that the street is extremely noisy after dark. We were on the 5th floor with street view. We had the windows open because it was a warm night, and even after shutting them it was still extremely loud (this was at 2 a.m.) Other than the noise, our stay was great.

Nice rooms, good location

This hotel is on the edge of the train station district. It's not as near to the red light area as some hotels in the area so it's nice to be removed from all that. The room was larger than expected and the beds were quite comfortable. The bathroom was not big, but very adequate and clean. I don't think there was air conditioning but the street noise was not too loud, although the street cars do go by in the morning. We were on the 3rd floor and it was not too noisy. It's about 10 minute walk the the big pedestrian shopping area in Frankfurt. The morning staff was very nice but the evening staff was a little cold. The breakfast was adequate -- mostly breads, cereal, and meats -- nothing special.

Good value if you don't mind the noise

The staff was helpful and professional, and the location was right for our needs,between the train and near the old section of town, but our room was
on the street side and quite loud with the windows open (due to no air conditioning). The included breakfast was very good.
