I've been staying at this hotel for around 15 years, whenever my work takes me to Frankfurt (about once a year). Used to be my favorite in terms of value, with a great breakfast. It declined during and after Covid unfortunately. They are now doing renovations to hopefully bring it back to the level it was at before. When I stayed there this time, even the breakfast room was under renovation, so breakfast was in the bar -- and very frustrating as selection was poor and they only seemed to put a tiny bit of food out at a time (so within 5 minutes of them putting eggs or cheese out, it was gone and you had to wait again in order to get some). Hoping to see this place like it once was, soon.

I have been coming to this hotel for close to 15 years, because work takes me to Frankfurt around once a year at least. Unfortunately they have not kept up with the maintenance and it has declined a lot. Used to be great value.

Extremely expensive but not worth it. Room is very small. Furnitures and stuff in the room are very old. Roof height is very short. You hit your head in the bathroom. Door is not closing properly. You should pull or push to close the door.
Walls are very thin and there is no voice isolation. I couldn’t sleep due to neighbor room snoring.
Breakfast is very poor.

If you want to stay near the Frankfurt Hauptrbahnhof, this is the best hotel for the money. It is easy to get the the airport by train in like 20 minutes from the hotel, so it is good for early morning flights.

The Hauptbahnhof and its surrounding area are not very appealing, so access to transportation is the primary selling point for this hotel.

In addition, the street that the hotel is on leads away from the Hauptbahnhof to a small park and the Meridian hotel behind it, which make it easy to get away from the somewhat unattractive folks that gravitate to the train station and walk into a fairly pleasant residential area or down to the river.

The hotel has a pretty good breakfast from 7 am to 9 am. For food at night, I would recommend the Irish pub around the corner. Apart from that, it is sort of limited.

The safe didn/'t work and reception said they would fix or change but didn't and the shower had to be held by hand as the shower holder was missing so it feels like no -one checks or does maintenance so is the hotel safe for fire or other things if these things are not checked or actioned ?

The pictures make this place look way nicer than it actually is. I’ve stayed at Savoy Hotels in America and this was absolutely not the same quality. The shower had dead flies sitting in it, the room furniture was uncomfortable or broken. The lobby was not at all what it was giving in the photos. The pool was out of service which was the main reason I booked the hotel and they said we would have had to pay a “spa fee” to access the pool of $9 per person. If it is listed as an amenity on Expedia, it should be included. The area around the hotel has a lot of shady people and the area doesn’t feel super safe.
The only “good” part was the breakfast. They had a wide variety of things to choose from and the people working there were really nice.
I would not stay here again. Especially for the amount of money they are charging for this place. Not worth it at all.

Cheap room close to the station

The room was alright, not horrible but not great either. Some of the furniture was in need of replacing. The windows were really drafty and a lot of street noise could be heard. The staff was nice upon check-in :) I booked our room at this hotel because it’s very close to the train station (it is! very convenient) and because there is a pool. However, upon arrival, we were notified the pool and spa facilities were closed. This was disappointing but it was still a cheap room really close to the station so overall we got what we paid for.

So the location of this hotel is not bad as it is right next to the train station. That was the only thing good about it. The room was nasty having mold/water damage almost everywhere in the room, and this hotel is in bad need of new management. We went to check out a day early, and they never even asked us why we were leaving before our check out date. The shower rod was broken .and would not stay where it needed to be, so it just sprayed everything all over the bathroom.

I stayed only 1 night (after arriving later in the day), on my way elsewhere. So I didn't raise issued until I was checking out. Front desk seemed to take the issues seriously.
The shower knob didn't work, and taking a full bath was not my thing (I'm a guy and traveling).
I didn't think there was a second towel (bath vs. hand) although I may have missed it. The towel I did find was on the thin side.
I stated at a different hotel on my way back through Frankfurt am Main, and liked it a lot more.

The property in conveniently located across the main train station. That said, it's a very shady area, close to the red light district, druggies and homeless are loitering on the siedewalks around the property.
The rooms are basic. Rolling shutters were not working in the first room, in the second room the bathroom door couldn't be closed without a struggle.
That said, front desk did everything in his power to accompdate us. Friendly and very helpful.
All in all, you get what you pay for. It's diable for a night.

It was absolutely a nightmare story at this hotel and my recommendation is for no one to get scammed here. I thought paying a decently good amount and near the central station would be a good choice but definitely was not the case. There was blood on the curtains, the floor was not clean at all, going stains on the carpets, washroom was dirty. The whole experience was just hell. No Ac, water is not supplied, resteraunt downstairs is closed.

Disgusted by this property. I got bit by bed bugs and had to go to a pharmacy for medication. Reported to reception and as no other rooms got my room cleaned (if you call it that) was told the manager wasn’t in and would call me. No call
Reported again and was told he’d be in at 8am the day I was leaving. Had a train booked for 8:30 across the street. Was told he was on his way and be 5 minutes. 8:25am and still no show so had to leave and was directed to his email. Emailed him on the train and now 24 hours later still no reply. Hotel looks nothing like it does on site. Run down and disgusting. Believe it’s being run with a receptionist and one cleaner.
Carpet all stained, shower doesn’t work so had to use bath, shower glass clearly never been cleaned and the curtains don’t fit the window so no matter which way you draw them there’s a couple of inch gap the light beams in. Please avoid

Close to the main train station so easily accessible for connections to the airport, around the city and even to the National lines too. We went to Cologne one day so getting to the station was no problem. As for sites around Frankfurt, 10 minutes walking distance to the main tower and Romer Square. An ideal hotel if you’re wanting a good location with a good price.

We like that it’s about 3min walk to the train station. Receptionists were friendly and cheerful. But we were disappointed with outside of the hotel. We saw people on the streets doing drugs, drunk from alcohol, throwing up, and fighting—all in one day, broad daylight! Then comes night, we heard people screaming around 2am. Couple of sirens going off. Our baby woke up a few times. We felt unsafe and not relaxed.

the location of the hotel is very good, it is located directly opposite the central railway station. the hotel's free wireless Internet is fine and fast, the rooms have a mini fridge and a TV, and you can watch almost all TV channels, I have not seen this in many countries :) there are some technical glitches in the rooms and the hotel, it would be better if they were leveled.. there are many eating and drinking areas, markets and shops near the hotel.. i recommend this hotel to everyone

There’s an adage that you get what you pay for and I have to say, I truly got what I paid for. The Savoy is rated as a 4* hotel and it may have acquired this historically but any such claim should have long since been amended. My room on the first floor faced the City…fair enough, I knew that before I arrived but the noise from traffic and sirens couldn’t be muted. There are shutters on the windows that can’t be lowered to mask the noise or the light and to add insult to injury, the curtains couldn’t be shut as there was insufficient material.
The fixtures and fittings everywhere, looked as if somebody had attacked the place with a baseball bat. The shower screen had no rubbers and the shower head had a broken bracket that allowed the spray to bypass the screen straight on to the tiled floor… no amount of effort could control it. The toilet bowl was badly stained and flush panel looked as if someone had tried to make a Caribbean steel drum from it. The carpet looked more like underlay which could have been forgiven had it not been for the copious amounts of stains all over.
A walk outside revealed a world that I believed only existed in Hollywood zombie movies. Drug addled users and worse, dealers, were congregated around the substation entrance less than 400m from the door of the establishment and judging by the numbers, it seems this is a tolerance zone!
At least I could have a nice cup of tea in my room but I couldn’t due to no such facilities in a 4* hotel! Awful!

Pool, sauna facilities closed for a long time and staff indicated just happened and would be fixed soon but could tell not in use ( no water) for a long time ( probably don't want to deal with maintenance). Lots of neglect evident in building, flies torn even in elevator. 8th floor very smoky cigarettes and weed which permeates through building. Plumbing in room had a leaky toilet that has been ongoing quite awhile as evident by staining. Not a 4 star by a long shot, a 2 or 2.5. Area around has addicts everywhere, but anywhere around train station not pleasant. So overall if want a cheap hotel near train then this place ok, but don't expect anything more.

Worse than last time. Room was a disaster. Both bedside lamps not working. I did request them to be fixed but were not. Rolladade not working properly. The housekeeping staff were so loud outside my room everyone made it impossible to sleep or rest after an 11 hour flight.
Many gypsies hanging around outside the front door all day and night.
Paper thin walls the people in the next room were playing loud music in the morning. A complete miserable stay

Well, I imagine in the 80s, this was a top hotel, but it seems it hasn't had any money spent on it since. Arrived to check-in and the guy in the office was pretty cold - no real welcome, just charged me the money and gave me the keys. As you get to the lift, there are about 15 notices all written in huge capital letters, which is a little overwhelming.

Got to the room - adequate, retro. The room was missing a curtain to start with. The shower doesn't go high enough to actually stand underneath it, but it wouldn't matter if you could, since the water pressure is virtually non-existent.

The bed was comfy enough. Location was great in comparison to the train station. Oh and the pool was closed - no mention of this upon booking.

Probably wouldn't return unless I was really desparate.

This hotel is dilapidated and very old. It is NOT a 4 star hotel as advertised by Expedia. The entire hotel is very dirty and has a horrible moldy smell throughout. It looks like it was abandoned for some time. The room had stains on the carpet and curtains and the amenities were collapsing. The shower was rusty and moldy, I couldn’t even use it. I feared I was going to catch a disease by staying here. AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COST.

About the cleanliness is good and comfortable bed location also is good but the area is very terrible and dirty junks everywhere and a lots of homeless in the area
I choose Savoy hotel because i found in hoteles.com that there’s swimming pool sauna and restaurant open but in the real everything was closed (that’s because corona during but even breakfast they canceled it)
Receptionist who received me don’t know how to make me pay with bank card even i have MasterCard visa card and maestro card then i paid cash but the most terrible its when I check out I leave my bag in the hotel when i back for take it i want to use toilet and she didn’t accept thats mean we don’t care of you anymore because you finished your stay so the same receptionist who guest me with big smile she end my stay with grimace

The hotel was very clean near the main station and the city center. The staff was very friendly in the reception and restaurant. The room was to the street side and very load and they don't have in the whole city coffee to drink after the breakfast.

Clean rooms, great location and sensible pricing!

Clean rooms, helpful, professional and curtious staff. Conveniently located at proximity of the Central Station and 15 min away from pedestrian zones. Family run business which in this instance gives a little bit more accent on hospitality and personality, which , talking into the account a sensible pricing policy results in an excellent deal.
