Lack of policy transparency.

The stay was alright at best and decent at worst. The hotel is amazing yet, I paid fully upfront for a Friday-Monday stay. I left Sunday a day earlier. I did not know about the policy you need to report that you are leaving a full 24 hours before if you decide to leave early to gain a refund on the additional day. I was informed I was suppose to tell them Saturday that I was leaving Sunday instead of leaving Sunday at check out before my transportation scheduled. So, even though I left early that morning as in before noon on Sunday, I was charged for the whole day.

I do not blame the hotel as I should have known the policy yet I would like for that policy to be announced at check-in. In the United States of America, you’re able to automatically be refunded for days you’re not staying regardless of the day informed. It is my fault for assuming France, with its hospitality industry would have been of that standard.

I will suggest this hotel going forward just be mindful of their policies.

Disappointed and don't recommend

The girl on reception charged tourist tax for our 15 year old, when we questioned it, the receptionist laughed and said she was an adult. Everywhere online states 18+. We queried it with the officials who said we can apply for a refund. But I'm annoyed that we were charged in the first place when we had her passport showing she was only 15. There was only one staff member for breakfast, they were unable to keep up with replacing the food for everyone. Crepes very dry and old and tastes like cardboard. Coffee was terrible. Yogurt pots and brioche was good.
Bathroom door had a large gap so no privacy in the bathroom. Shower had no door or screen or curtain and screen that was there was not long enough from the shower head and water went all over the floor every time we showered. Cardboard cups in the bathroom had been used and had dried stuff at the bottom of the inside of the cup. Gross!! I threw the cups in the bin but when housekeeping came they did not replace them.
While we were out we left a key on the slot to keep power to charge two devices. All the lights and air-conditioning and everythubg else was turned off in the room except an electric toothbrush that was charging and a phone also charging. Housekeeping came and took the key so our devices never charged. And we had to go to reception to get a new key and girl on reception although she did give a new card, wasn’t at all apologetic that housekeeping had taken the room key.

Reception did try to charge me twice for breakfast (was included in Expedia deal, not in hotel system apparently) and twice for the city tax (I paid on arrival, had to dig up my credit card receipt to prove it on checking out).

OVERALL: Enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. PROS: Clean, modern and safe. Nice neighborhood with a metro stop about 5 minutes away. The desk clerk who checked us in was one of the most genuinely nice people I've ever met staffing a hotel. CONS: Not that close to major monuments if you're a tourist. Taking the subway from Charles de Gaulle airport is possible but long and complicated.

Loud room across from elementary school.
No A/C so had to open windows and street was very loud until late night and again in early morning.
Some of hotel desk staff were very nice but one manager was particularly snooty and uncaring.
Hotel could not manage to have 2 coffee packs, 2 creamers, and 2 stir sticks on any given day. Each day they were missing one item but different item each day…

Really clean room! We stayed 4 days there, daily room service was great. Location was spot on with metro station nearby and Carefour on the way too. Everything was absolutely perfect. Area felt safe. Staff were so friendly! Thanks Jess for your kindness. Will definitely come back Paris and stay here again and again.

Check in was easy, no issues very friendly. It was pretty much clean small rooms. Bed were hard. No bed sheet to cover yourself, only a comforter so you really had to turn on the AC all night. Apparently the cleaning person went through my backpack. I noticed papers out of place, but I don’t believe anything was taken, maybe just being nosy.

Wonderful staff and in a great location.

Me and my family stay in the hotel for 2 weeks, we love everything. The room was always clean and have a mini fridge (it’s a plus on hot days). The Hotel location is great, close to 2 metros station and a lot of cafés and supermarkets (Franprix it’s on the corner). The staff is great.. 2 in the morning I need something to eat and John from front desk help me order a pizza and call to delivery. The girls from the front desk is amazing, nice and very helpful in any questions. Claire I think is her name (the manager, sorry If I’m wrong, she’s a very sweet person. And for the kids have a Ferdinand the missing flaming (my daughter love this game). 2 weeks on the same hotel, the hotel staff make us feel we’re in home. Thanks for everything, and hope stay at this hotel again soon. I recommend this hotel 10 times.

Hotel was a little far from city center, however getting around was easy due to the metro stations nearby (less than a 10 min walk). The size of the room was a bit small, but it is Paris after all. Our room was clean and nice and quiet at night making it easy to get a good nights sleep. My only complaint would be that it was hot but we spent very little time in the room so we opened our window which let in a nice breeze.

A little of the beaten path but still close to public transit. Bathrooms are tiny, so are some of the rooms. Not much space to put clothes etc. First room we got smelled like cigarettes although the whole hotel is non-smoking. Requested a different room which I received without problems, and no smell. The next day we arrived after the room was cleaned and it smelled like cigarette smoke too, so I’m guessing heavy smokers from the cleaners leave that smell. Breakfast buffet was arranged aside from the room and was quite pricey, but the food is really good. It’s a 4 star but I had stayed on different 4 stars during our trip and while it’s a good hotel I wouldn’t rate it as a 4 star.

Would recommend for P de V exhibition. Not the easiest place to get to by public transport. Train and 2 metros to get to from CDG and 1.20 hour travelling. Easier to spend E55 on a taxi door to door, especially if you share.

Quiet business hotel near Expo Porte de Versailles

Hotel is an above average European business hotel - room small, but quiet, clean, and functional. Location 1 km north of Expo Porte de Versailles (I was attending a convention there). There is a small park nearby and decent restaurants within 1 km walk (I only took a taxi from hotel once to eat dinner).

Breakfast downstairs is basic but good (but not included in room charge!). Breakfast room staff (as all staff at hotel) very friendly - knew my name and room number after a few days (I stayed four nights). Desk clerks vary in English language ability, but don't be afraid to make special requests at desk (you can check out steam irons and electrical adapters there).

Neighborhood is especially quiet for Paris, but note that back rooms face the courtyard playground of an elementary school, so expect noise when school in session, especially when children arrive and leave. However, if you are lucky, you will hear music class - beautiful voices singing to French songs and classical music.

If you work many hours in your room as I did, the hard plastic chairs become very uncomfortable. The small bar downstairs offers an alternative workplace with soft chairs and sofas. Free hotel internet varies in speed throughout the day and occasionally drops out. You can buy faster Internet for 2 euro/hour.

My wife and I spent a long weekend in Paris and stayed at the Mercure hotel. It was within walking distance of 2 metro stations which meant it was easy to travel into the city centre. The staff were friendly and spoke English (which helped a lot as French is not our strongest language). Overall a nice, clean and friendly hotel.

They steal!

I left a sign on the door for the maid to not clean my room and she still went in. The after checking out the next day I left my glasses on the counter. When I called back they said the maid went home for the day and didn't turn anything in and would call me back tomorrow. Instead I went back and told them exactly where it was and the lady I saw who wasn't the same person on the phone was the only helpful person but still my glasses were taken by the maid.
Don't leave anything or you won't get it back!

The hotel was clean, comfortable, and modern. The room also has an electric kettle for making tea and coffee, and the hotel also gives a complimentary bottle of water. The staff was friendly and helpful for the most part. The hotel needs to update their printing facilities. In order to print you have to e-mail your document to a specified e-mail address and then the hotel will print it for you. However, there are some documents that cannot be e-mailed, such as tour vouchers that requires logging into the website to print it. If you plan on booking excursions while at the hotel make sure that the tours allow e-vouchers. One staff member was kind and gracious enough to allow me to log in to expedia to print my voucher; another staff member did not accommodate me and I lost out on a excursion that required a printed voucher. Also, there are several \"branches\" of this hotel. Please check the location before booking. I was not too crazy about this hotel's location. It seemed to be tucked away in a random neighborhood and was a little far from all the \"action\" (if that is what you want).

I was visiting family and was staying in the hotel by myself, I felt very safe in the hotel and walking to and from Convention Metro station. The hotel is very very quiet, I heard no noise from outside or adjoining rooms.
The staff were not friendly, but neither were they rude, this is the best you can expect in Paris and I was not unhappy with that at any time. The night porter was an exceptionally nice helpful man.
If you are looking for buzz, atmosphere and a fun place to stay this might not be for you. It was perfect for me as my priorities were safety, cleanliness, easy access and quiet.

It took us a while to find the hotel from the metro conversion as the directions we were given from the hotel staff wasn't the best but once we arrived we were disapointinly asked for a unexpected €50 deposit I believe this should be noted when booking the hotel. The room was basic but clean. The hotel bar was very expensive and not worth the money. I would overall still recommend this hotel for whoever wants a cheap and easy option for a Paris stay.

Very nice hotel with extremely nice people at the reception. Small and clean hotel. Small elevator, fun to use. Rooms very comfy with extremely decent washroom/toilets. Rooms are tight, but for us it added to the charm of Paris. Excellent room service. Excellent buffet style breakfast in a charming place, allows you to start your day nicely. Staff was constantly checking buffet and constantly cleaning the area. This hotel is not the Ritz Carlton nor the Queen Elizabeth but it is charming. Under the same conditions and staff, we strongly recommend it.

I stayed at the Mercure Hotel for a couple of nights and had a very pleasant stay. The location is ideal if you are going to the Expo Parc. The breakfast was really lovely and the staff were extremely helpful. The barman was very friendly and made my couple of hours in the bar a fun experience! :)

Paris Weekend Break.

My stay was at this hotel was very good. The size of the room was okay it wasn't big, it was fairly small, however it was just the right size for me and my boyfriend. The breakfast spre ad was decent. They don't go all out but you've got your standard tea coffee orange juice toast cereal. Very clean. Not all the reception staff are friendly I would say the only one who was very nice to us was Caroline. I would consider staying at this hotel again. But there is a bigget hotel mercure closer to all the attractions. I would prefer to stay there. This hotel does not offer room service. They also lock the lobby door after midnight. So your banging for a while before someone let's you in if you get back at 2 am. The metro is close by, easy to use. There are a few decent places to eat close to the hotel. If are catching taxis.. It will cost you around 20-25 euros one way.

It is a very good hotel, very friendly and welcoming reception, a good neighborhood, it is very close to two different metro station that makes life easier to move almost to any part of the city. I recommend the breakfast, it is tasty :) it is quite and but it is also a little bit tiny, so if you want to have a lot of space, it might not be the best choice for you but for us it was good enough! bathroom is very clean and room service is absolutely good! totally this hotel is in a good shape and we were very satisfied with our stay at this hotel!

Comfortable hotel close to the Paris Expo centre

Our group of 6 arrived at the hotel and check-in was dealt with very quickly. The reception staff were polite and helpful. Our 3 rooms were all fine, clean and comfortable. Our room (room 101) had an odd shower arrangement - more like a wet room which left the floor wet and made the sliding door stick. The hotel itself was fairly quiet but there was some noise from outside in the early hours from the bin men. Breakfast the next morning was very good with a wide selection available. No one was left hungry for the start of our 2 busy days in Paris. We used the bar which unfortunately did not have draught beer available and on the second night had no bottled lager either which we found very strange. We also noticed that our empty bottles from the first night were still on the bar on the second night.This was disappointing. Checkout was handled well although people who wanted to settle using a credit card were unable to as the machine wasn't working. Overall this was a good experience.

Four'night stay

Five minutes walk from the nearest metro, the hotel is in a quiet area in the SW of the city. Our room was very comfortable, excellent shower, and the staff were very approachable. I would definitely use this hotel again, and would happily recommend it.

Some Parts of Paris DO Sleep

Quality of life rises and falls with sleep debt, and it is no fun to see Paris or any city when one is exhausted. Therefore, I looked for a hotel in a quiet part of Paris but with good access to the metro and found it in this hotel.

The staff put me in a room facing the back courtyard. Usually I have trouble getting a great night's sleep while in hotels, but not so in this hotel. There are only several rooms on each floor, so noise from neighbors is minimal (I do not recall even hearing other doors open/close during the evening hours and through the night!).

The room itself was not that large, but it was sufficient for one and would be cozy for two. The bathroom was amazing, with ample water pressure to make the showers a pleasure, and good added touches: The shower had both the fixed-style raindrop style as well as a wand. The bathroom also had a magnifying, lit mirror, very handy for those fine touches.

The breakfast buffet was also excellent, with a great selection. (My only quibble is that the bacon would be better if it can be kept warmer.)

Staff were cordial and helpful.

I stayed for 5 days and nights and honestly was sorry to leave!

Helpful staffs & nice rooms & fantastic breakfast

[Location]: close to Boucicaut metro which takes you directly to city centre; [Room]: descent size. powerful shower and clean toilets. cleanliness of the floor carpet can be further improved; [Breakfast]: Breakfast in Paris are expen$ive! the wonderful selection buffet breakfast offered by the hotel gives a good start of the day in Paris. [Service]: Friendly staffs. [Nearby]: There are local shops and groceries close by the hotel.

It is a good hotel with good price in Paris

I was happy stayed there for 3 nights although I was terrified by the previous review. I can tell why people give negative or natural review as the room is not as large as the other 4 * hotels, but please think about the price and the rest.

Metro stations[8,12] , restaurants,bars are 500 meters away. It locates in the local french residential area with nice neighborhood.
Public transportation are convenient. it takes about 25-40 minutes to any popular tourist spots in Paris. Last metro service on weekend is 2am. Night bus 13 can take you back from city center.

as expected, good value for the price

Hotel staff at the reception were extremely polite, helpful and thoughtful. Tiny room, ok location but for the price in Paris, I have nothing to complain. However, the restaurant service was a bit dysfunctional and one of the staff there was particuliarly rude - that's why I am giving 3 in the quality of hotel service rating.

Very convenient

Clean and smart looking hotel. Excellent service from staff at front desk. Room an ok size until our massive suitcases were in it and then it was a little difficult to move around. That is my only complaint really and that is very minor! Easy to get to 3 different metro stations, supermarkets nearby also. Would definitely recommend.
