The hotel itself is excellent, but unfortunately my experience was negatively affected by misleading information from the reception staff. I specifically asked the receptionist if I could park my car in front of the hotel and whether there would be a street market or anything similar the next day. He assured me that it was fine to park there. However, the next morning I was shocked to discover that my car had been towed due to a weekly street market, and I had to pay a €180 fine.

I sent the hotel a copy of the fine and expressed my disappointment, kindly asking for a small gesture of compensation such as a discount or one complimentary/reduced-price night. Unfortunately, there was no response or follow-up from the hotel, which left me very dissatisfied.

We had a late arrival and check-in. The hotel room was ready for us, and check-in was smooth.
Room was small but comfortable, with air conditioning (YES!) and floor space for all three of us. We only stayed two nights, but would have been fine staying longer.
Proximity to the subway and a nice boulangerie on the corner were also perks.

The room was good. It was clean, the beds were medium-firm and the pillows were just firm enough to sink into.
The bathroom had enough towels for two, and we were provided with soap and shampoo. The rooms were cleaned daily.
The room had a wardrobe with a safe.
There was a kettle with herbal tea, but non English tea.
The toilet seat and flush are not silent, so if you’re a light sleeper, you may be disturbed.
The best part of this hotel is by far the location. Convention metro stop is about 1mn walk away. There are hundreds of cafes and restaurants nearby. There are several mini-supermarkets as well.
There are 4 boulangeries within 10m walk, the nearest being 1mn away. I could go on.
The staff were extremely helpful, with special mention to Gaia whose knowledge of the area was a boon. The staff also helped with a problem I had with my charger.
All in all, a good hotel at a great location.

Though it can only squeeze in a mini cafeteria in the lowest floor in terms of amenities, this hotel more than makes up for it in location and value for the price. The room was clean and the layout maximized the space to the fullest. Only way the location could be better is if it was right on top of the Louvre or something. 20-30min transit ride away from anything you wanna see with a metro entrance in the front yard and plenty of rental bikes out front in a fantastic area full of shops and great places to eat. There is a couple convenient laundromats nearby for those on longer stays. Puts anything I’ve seen in any other city like DC or NYC to shame. Would probably 10x the price in either of those places too.

Really terrible place. Air conditioning didn't when, there were only two preset room key cards, both of which stopped working after a day. The front desk couldn't fix it and didn't call any maintenance to fix it. Shower was leaking which caused water to spill on the already small bathroom floor. Too narrow elevators and stairwells.. Not worth staying here.

Shower was rough and leaked, we asked to see if we could get it fixed and came in 2 days later and put in a new shower system. The shower also had a half wall that did not seal with the tub part so water leaked out frequently. Other than the washroom condition the stay was nice

Our stay was pleasant, and the location was ideal for what we needed- close to the metro and in an area that wasn't overly busy. The only (small) complaint we had was that our bathroom was very small. My husband is 6'4\" and had to sit sideways on the toilet! But, it was a small price to pay for our own restroom. The staff was pleasant and friendly and housekeeping was on top of tidiness of the room. We would definitely come back to Hotel Convention Montparnasse.

My sister and I had the most amazing time in Paris and this hotel was wonderful to return to for the night. The beds are super comfy, they have nice deep bathtubs so after a long day of walking, it's good to do your own \"home spa\". The elevator was a decent size (another hotel had a super tiny elevator that only fit one person). Café's/Restaurants around the area. We went to the one two doors down on the right when you exit. I forgot the name but it starts with an S...lol. They have very tasty pizza, crepes, coffee, rosé wine and other delicious food. Right outside the M 12 line subway. Easy commute.

1-The wring at the entrance was horrible

2-One time we remained outside waiting for around three minutes on the main door to open cause no one (receptionist) was present behind the reception counter to open the hotel door

3-The room service included only cleaning . The bed sheets were not changed for a whole week !

4-We are newly married couple and this is our honeymoon voyage, We were given a very small room. We asked the reception to offer us another room that is bigger because there were two empty in the same floor but the receptionist asked for an additional fee per day

5-The toilet lavatory mixer handle was broken.

6-No ironing board in the closet

7-The lanterns near the bed are very bulky

The apartment style room needs some work. Room and the hallway smells like smoke really bad. There is no AC in the room. Really loud at night. The room is actually 1 block walking distance from the check-in counter. You check-in then they give you a map to where the room is down the street. Staff was friendly but would not stay again.

Never this hotel again, Dirty, old,

We took taxi to the hotel from airport, since I did not want to drag my suitcase in the streets of Paris. Entering the lobby, I was shocked. It was the super faded, older dirtier version of its picture. It looked like the hostels I would stay when I was traveling as a student..At the check in, I was told my room is in another building, 200 meter away. There was no mention of this on their website or on Expedia. .
I ended up following a staff lady to the location,
My room was on a second floor, no elevators with a narrow spiral stair case.
The room was a studio, had oven, laundry , dishwasher which I did not need but no toilet paper.. I called the hotel and Expedia.
Expedia offersd to change my hotel the next day but sInce I was in Paris for a short time before leaving for Brussel, did not want to waste more time, I regret not changing hotel, since even the stay was short I was discussed with the shower (hair in it) and the dingy dirty floors
The only positive about it is the location. The actual hotel is almost across Convention metro station There are two bakeries on the street that I got my coffee and brioche every morning . Neighborhood is more local residence, while it is quite, still has cafe and restaurants to eat and seat outside. I don't know how the rooms are in the main building, but usually the lobby of a hotel is their cleanest and nicest part., so I imagine the rooms wouldn not be any better than mine
Expedia offered me a voucher, which was greatly appreciated

The room was exactly as pictured, but felt a bit smaller: barely any walking room around the bed (mine was a double which was big and comfy) - the bathroom was tiny too (don't plan on shaving your legs in the shower) but the room was clean, pretty, functional and the staff was very honest, friendly & helpful. The hotel is basically above a cafe/restaurant so I felt safe getting in after dark (lots of people), and it's on a street/cross-street with tons of shops: restaurants, pharmacies, bakeries, general grocery, clothing, Starbucks, etc. When I was there they had a farmer's market on Sunday morning. If you don't mind a bit of a walk (20-30 minutes) you can reach the Eiffel Tower on foot :) otherwise the metro is just on the other side of the cafe. Hairdryer was provided in the room as well as a small safe, and my room had a full-length opening window that looked like a mini-balcony overlooking the cafe. Very pretty, just remember that it's small (2 people may feel a bit crowded)

Lovely little hotel in Convention, clean, well maintained and friendly staff. Good restaurants and shops nearby and so we didn't sample the breakfast there but ate out. Only small downer was the shower head (obviously replaced) didn't hook onto the wall hook, but apart from that a nice place to stay.

The hotel is next to the metro and within walking distance of all the sites, but just off the beaten path enough so the neighborhood doesn't seem too touristy. There are at least 10 brasseries within 2 blocks and a farmers' market every Sunday.
The hotel was clean and staff were very helpful and spoke English. Loved our stay!

This hotel is in a great location. The only downside is the size of the room. The room is small but maybe that is just the way rooms are in Paris. This is my only experience with a French hotel. The room was maybe 12 feet x 12 feet...small but clean and comfortable. The staff was great. They were helpful and spoke very good English.

Small but perfectly formed

We stayed as a young couple visiting Paris and with lots of things booked. The area is a little out of the centre which was perfect. Convention had a lovely little market area with cafés, bars and shops. The metro is also right on the doorstep. 1.5 mile walk away from the Eiffel Tower or roughly €10 in a taxi. The staff were very friendly (except for one very grumpy man at check-in who didn't even greet us and kept us waiting for what felt like forever!). The room was cleaned daily and fresh towels left. A little concerned as when we first arrived there were used hair bobbles on the floor next to the bed so it didn't appear that the room had been properly serviced. The bathroom is absolutely tiny but does exactly what you need - there's a shower cubicle, sink and toilet - just don't expect to be doing any yoga in there! The windows are French doors with a tiny balcony which two of you could stand on at a squeeze. Our room faced the busy front street and noise was no problem at all.
I was expecting to stay on a ground floor room as discussed with the hotel prior to booking but was actually on the third floor. There was no major issue as there's a small lift that my wheelchair could fit in to.
The room was lovely and great value for money - I can't wait to stay again!

Good location, but very small room.

The hotel was sufficient. The rooms were very small, however they had a comfortable bed, shower and toilet, so everything that you need. The rooms were also clean.
There is a lift, but this is extremely slow and also very small. We used it once even though we were on the 5th floor. Something to bear in mind should you need it though.
The hotel staff rarely spoke, even though we greeted them every time.
We wasn't advised that the hotel offered breakfast, we overheard someone talking about it on the third day of our stay!
The location of the hotel was great though. Only a 30 second walk away from the metro.

Great hotel to use while visiting Paris.

We chose Hotel Convention Montparnasse because of its location. It was outside of the city center and yet very close to the Convention metro stop. We were able to get from the hotel to the Effiel tower in about 15 minutes. We were at the hotel only to sleep and for that it met our purpose. The rooms are not big but they were clean and comfortable. It's a little noisy because of the proximity to the street especially on market days. Our only concern was the lack of consistent Internet. We had to go to the lobby to be able to surf the web. I would definitely stay here again.

If you are looking for a room which is comfortable and clean bathroom, this is not a good choice. My bathroom toilet seat was broken and the shower tub did not drain water fast enough. Also, water from the shower went outside of the tub that I had to put two towels on the floor before taking a shower. I have pictures to show. This was mentioned couple of times to the management and did not get fixed in my 5 nights stay. They all pretended to take notes and told me that it will be taken care of. Language was not the barrier so cannot be used as an excuse. AC in the room took its own sweet time to cool. stairs and passage to the hotel room stunk with smoke smell or some other smell. Toiletries only included shampoo and soap, no conditioners, lotion, gel, etc. Only good thing about this hotel is that it is convenient to metro station but the overall experience of this hotel/room negates that convenience altogether.

My wife and I stayed here during a recent visit to Paris and found this to be a great little hotel! It's in a nice neighborhood with cafes, patisseries, and shops and a Metro station about 50 steps from the front door! The rooms are small (and the bathrooms are VERY small) but comfortable - and air conditioned (which is a very nice amenity if you're in Paris during the summer!) The room was clean and comfortable and even had a little balcony to take in the sights and sounds of Paris. It's also very reasonably priced - a great value for the quality and convenience that this hotel offers. Definitely recommended!

convenient location

it stated as 3 br apartment, but it actually is 2 br with sleeper sofa in living area. When the sleeper sofa was pulled out, there is no room left to move around. For 6 people, it is very cramped, only 1 bath room. Apartment is 5 blocks away from the hotel. Location is very convenient, surrounded by shops, restaurants and grocery stores. Very close to metro station, easy access to sights. Price is reasonable for this location in Paris.

Be aware that their larger apartment rooms do NOT have air conditioning as stated in all website descriptions and they offered no alternatives nor apologies. Thankfully i had used a 3rd party booking agent such as hotels.com which quickly and easily refunded my fully paid reservation however that didn't help with the additional expenses of finding other last minute accommodations at double the price but also the expense of moving hotels (cabs, tips, etc) but also an entirely lost day of our vacation dealing with the mess! I would not stay again nor consider any brands in their portfolio. Be aware!

Staff were excellent. they were able to turn laundry overnight after walking the camino de Santiago. Local street market right next to the hotel. Quiet at night, but three minutes from the Cathedral.

Hotel looked adorable but we were given an apartment 5 minute walk and up 2 winding stairways.Room had a queen size bed, a couch and a rollaway for our 4 adults. Our host was amicable and the metro is right there.

Excellent value in lovely neighborhood

I usually stay at this hotel when I am in Paris. It is a small hotel in a lovely residential neighborhood filled with restaurants and shops. Next store is a wonderful place for coffee and one of the best bakeries in Paris is on the corner. The metro and cab stand is right there. Hotel is not fancy, but an excellent value, clean and everyone is friendly. Keep in mind the least expensive rooms are very small by American standards. The more expensive rooms are considerably larger. All are very reasonable priced.

Well located, clean, great value for money

My daughter & I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at convention Montparnasse. The room was clean and comfortable, there are plenty of cafés around and it is just next to the underground. Very good value for money.
